Hi,

I appreciate that this is not a fully substantiated article but merely an exemplar of the behaviour of Ukip which was and is all too common, bringing these United Kingdoms into disrepute. howver be well aware that as a story it was considered sufficiently factually informative, by a major broadsheet, to pass its legal department!

That such events occur amongst the supporters of other Parties is neither mitigation nor valid as again and again in Ukip those who are responsible are elected members, staff and and amongst the leadership and its direct aspirants, and Ukip is a relatively small party.

Time and again we hear of such events in Ukip and of mistresses and salaried staff who seem incapable of not abusing those who end up beneath them by use of their positions of authority.

This seems a norm in Ukip where as it is clearly an exception in the main two parties, who clearly have better judgement and more adept disciplinary standards.

‘Spiked drink’ and the night Ukip’s party turned sour

The party faithful at Ukip’s gala dinner were in buoyant mood. Hours earlier, Nigel Farage had delivered a galvanising leader’s speech at the party’s 2012 conference.

The dinner afterwards at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Birmingham offered the leadership and rank and file the opportunity to have a drink, relax and mingle.

The meal was a largely jolly affair, accompanied as it was by a fundraising auction that – this being Ukip – included such desirable items as tea bags in a fancy box and a woven silk portrait of the Queen.

“This was a gathering that featured little of the bombast and none of the slickness of the larger parties’ shindigs,” reported one commentator at the time.

The Crowne Plaza hotel in Birmingham (Alamy)

Yet 10 months on, the repercussions of that night’s events are still being felt.

A female activist has claimed that, amid the frivolity of the evening, she had been subjected to a “brutal assault” by a senior figure in Young Independence, Ukip’s youth wing. She said her drink had been spiked and her dress “ripped down”. She had been spat on, called a “whore”, then photographed in a state of undress to ensure her silence.

The claims finally became public two weeks ago when The Telegraph’s Mandrake column reported some of the details, leaving Ukip open to possible criticism of effectively covering up a crime by not calling in the police.

Last week, Ukip responded by passing to this newspaper a dossier detailing the claims and counter-claims for what happened that night and in the weeks and months following.

What is not contested is that the alleged incident followed the gala dinner on Friday Sept 21, presided over by Mr Farage and the party’s chairman, Steve Crowther. The alleged victim had been placed at a prominent table by Lisa Duffy, Ukip’s party director.

Lisa Duffy

The events that followed are murkier and disputed. At the heart of the case is the woman’s claim – made 12 days after the conference ended – that she had been subjected to a violent assault after her drink had been spiked.

She made the allegations in a number of emails to Miss Duffy and, as a result, the party opened an internal investigation conducted by Michael Greaves, one of its most senior officials. Mr Greaves is Ukip’s general secretary, but also a lawyer with experience at the International Criminal Court.

Last week he released to The Sunday Telegraph a report he had compiled on the case, based on the alleged victim’s emails, an interview with one of the alleged attackers and eyewitness accounts. He did not interview the woman either face-to-face or by telephone.

Mr Greaves has also written a separate, longer account for Mr Farage and Ukip officials.

Steve Crowther

In the version handed to this newspaper, he concluded that the “matter had no legs whatsoever”. After interviewing or taking statements from, among others, Mr Farage’s wife, Kirsten, Mr Greaves felt that the alleged victim’s story contained contradictions that did not stand up to wider scrutiny.

He said that she had been drinking so heavily “she must have been close to causing herself ill-health” and that the day after the attack she “is seen to be in perfectly good nick”, casting doubt on her memory of events and her claim to have been traumatised.

Mr Greaves’s report outlines events from the beginning of the evening of the gala dinner. By then, according to the Ukip account, the alleged victim had already caused a stir.

Mrs Farage had witnessed the woman “coming on strongly” to her husband. The woman, who according to witnesses was “very drunk”, is alleged to have invited Mr Farage back to her room before she was escorted from the party leader’s presence. Mr Farage had “politely declined” her offer.

With dinner over, many of the activists went on to a party hosted by Paul Staines, better known as Guido Fawkes, the political blogger. The woman went too.

Michael Greaves

Mr Greaves wrote in his report: “C [the alleged victim] was again seen by KF [Kirsten Farage] who saw that she was still very very drunk. KF indicates that she continued to drink prodigiously, perhaps 10 further glasses of wine.”

He added: “It is after this period of alcohol consumption that C claims that she was assaulted by having her dress ripped, that she was spat upon and was photographed. One of those involved with her called her a whore.”

The next day, according to the Ukip account, the woman appeared to have made a remarkable recovery. Mrs Farage and Miss Duffy both gave evidence that she was “chatting, laughing and smoking” outside the conference venue and did not look “particularly traumatised”.

Four days later, on Wednesday Sept 26, the woman wrote to Miss Duffy thanking her for seating her at the table, saying: “I am really impressed with the direction that Ukip is taking.”

Eight days on, her tone had changed. In a second email to Miss Duffy, she laid out what she then recalled had happened to her.

“Two of your Young Independence members physically assaulted me quite brutally outside the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham on the gala night,” she wrote.

“I also realise that one of my drinks was spiked and the effects of this lasted two days, including loss of vision which was terrifying and loss of memory which unfortunately for me returned this week. I’ve been really traumatised by this and am not wishing to take things further due to threats being made against me.”

Two days later on Oct 6, the woman wrote again: “I’m still very traumatised… One young guy took me outside, ripped down my dress while another took photographs, spat on me and called me a whore. All I remember is someone saying it was set up.”

She complained of feeling “numb to everything around me” as a result of the spiked drink, and suffered from heavy nosebleeds.

She added: “One young man needs slinging out of the party and reporting to the police. I haven’t done the latter since I didn’t want a scandal for everyone who works so hard in Ukip or a scandal for my family.”

On Oct 18, she wrote again to Miss Duffy: “I am afraid that what I have been through is a very serious matter and I will need to get the police involved. I’m currently seeing a solicitor about the actions of [X] and two others who were also involved in what is an assault.”

It was at this point that Ukip’s leadership, with the knowledge of Mr Farage, asked Mr Greaves to investigate.

“It is not at any stage in this matter for Ukip to report matters to the police,” wrote Mr Greaves in his analysis for The Telegraph.

He drove from Brussels to the UK to interview the alleged attacker – referred to throughout the dossier as X to protect his identity. During the interview, X denied the attack and also gave an alibi.

Mr Greaves concluded after the interview that X was “on the balance of probabilities” telling the truth.

He wrote: “Apart from what I believe to be an untruth about his taking medication, which may be explicable on the basis that someone wanting advancement in Ukip might well decide to conceal a medical condition which seriously affects mood and temperament, the writer [Mr Greaves] had no basis whatsoever to conclude anything other than that X was telling the truth or, at the least, may be telling the truth on the balance of probabilities.”

Following the interview with X, Mr Greaves decided no disciplinary action could be taken against him and wrote a report for party officials and for Mr Farage outlining why.

In his account to this newspaper, he wrote: “At this stage the complaint is, on any view, in a sorry state. C has given accounts which as to material matters are inconsistent with one another, certainly to the eye of a skilled criminal cross-examiner.”

He pointed to a series of inconsistencies, including the email on Sept 26 which made no mention of an assault. The email, he explained, “fatally undermines her later assertions of having been assaulted and having had he [sic] drink spiked”.

Mr Greaves also pointed to discrepancies between her account and statements from Miss Duffy and Mrs Farage among others, not least the alleged victim’s claim that she had suffered nose bleeds and loss of vision, adding: “The evidence of KF and LD entirely contradicts this.”

On Nov 9, Mr Greaves also wrote to the woman, inviting her to make a formal complaint to Ukip, but advising her that if she wished to do so “it is inevitable that other people will have to be involved in the affair”.

In his account, he added: “One might properly and reasonably conclude that any solicitor advising her would give her advice that once she makes a complaint of this kind it would inevitably find its way into the public domain, even before the advent of the egregious era of so-called ‘social media’.”

The woman, who had been to see a lawyer, wrote back promptly saying that she did not wish to lodge a formal complaint with Ukip. But she also wrote on Nov 12 that she had been “blackmailed into keeping quiet and that photographs taken outside the hotel would be used against her”. In the letter, the alleged victim also said for the first time that a woman had “set up the attack”.

Mr Greaves saw this as further proof of her constantly changing story. He also concluded that the attack was not a serious one. “The only complaint made had been one of assault by battery, to the extent of the ripping of a dress (to an unknown extent) and spitting. On any view, it is unlikely that that would attract more than a conditional discharge from the magistrates,” he wrote.

He also pointed out that there was no “sexual aspect” to the case except for the woman’s approach to Mr Farage earlier in the evening when she invited him to room.

Mr Greaves informed Mr Farage of his findings and at that point closed the file on the case.

Ukip’s leadership believed that was the end of the matter, but details began to leak out. In March, the alleged victim posted some of her allegations on a social networking site. “Too many witnesses to what happened. Some have evidence,” she wrote in one message, followed by: “Starting to write a short book about the attack. Finding it incredibly painful but will shame those involved. Someone spat in my face too.”

A few days later she added: “If you’ve been drink spiked go to the police, get evidence.”

Later she wrote: “I don’t know which was worse: waking up the next am and not being able to see properly or blood running down my face and not remembering a thing.”

She has never gone to the police and the West Midlands force has no record of any allegation of assault.

The woman still stands by her story, while Ukip disputes it. The truth is that what actually happened at Ukip’s conference that night in September may never be fully known.

There seems to be an inordinate number of such instances associated with Ukip & Ukip Yooof over the years. Talk of these irresponsible and self indulgent individuals occurs all too often, though as with this instance there seems to be a tendency to manage to ensure it is hushed up, it is allegedly achieved by blackmail and bullying, as was the case in this instance, it seems.

Wonderful just how much silence one can buy with photographs and threats to publish them on the internet I gather!

Alternatively the simple threat that their EU Building pass can be revoked, if they speak out, silences many when groped, abused or raped; as to complain would thus lose them their job – particularly with young attractive Latvians, Lithuanians and the like, ex Communist block, lobbyists and staff.

CODEX & The inevitable demise of The EU! & the undeniable hypocrisy of Farage & his cult and claque that render UKIP unfit for purpose to lead in the aim to Leave-The-EU! Befouled and corrupted UKIP has no role to play in its present form in British politics their USP was a promise to be different and clearly they fell short of this and have become nothing more than the grubbiest of self interested politicians.

That the media fail to do their duty and expose the facts about UKIP is largely due to the dishonesty and corruption of the litigious nature of the party, I believe, it is easier for media lawyers to prevent stories exposing the facts than defend against dishonest claims and denials by UKIP!

Hi,

A Lesson to learn on CODEX & increasing insignificance of The EU

Increasingly it is becoming obvious that the EUropean Union scam is coming unravelled with the EUro clearly over valued and only sustainable with continued subsidies and the near certainty that Greece, Spain, Portugal and probably Eire & Italy will have to drop out or face effective bankruptcy leading to reaching a Independent Voluntary Agreements that Gertmany will run and manage their economies and dictate austerity and policy through what ever dishonest front is decided on to hide the fact that they are no longer Countries but just puppet adfministrations, even more than Britain which was clearly asset6 stripped by the 13 unlucky years of management by the economically illiterate Gordon Brown & the posing of Alistair Darling.

It has been clear that the EU lacks clout on the world stage, hence Britain would be far Better Off Out of the EU negotiating trade direct with our markets and working within the framework of the more significant WTO and CODEX itself, to comply with the global economic rules directs as they come into force – the rules that the failed EU scam are forced to follow themselves!

The following three articles by Dr. Richard North put more flesh on the bones of this scenario and put the place of the EU and the foolish posturings of David Cameron, Ed Milliband, Nick Clegg and the amateur hour populist antics of the Farage cult in perspective.

 Tuesday 25 June 2013

 https://i0.wp.com/www.eureferendum.com/images/000aBristol%20012.jpg

David Cameron says our place is at the “top table” in order to pursue our national interest, and that includes the EU.

“The fact is”, he adds, “that it is international institutions, and in them, that many of the rules of the game are set on trade, tax and regulation”. “When a country like ours is affected profoundly by those rules, I want us to have a say on them”.

But, says Bjorn Knudtsen, Chairman of the Fish and Fisheries Product Committee, when it comes to international rules on food, to ensure public safety and fair trading, the UN body Codex Alimentarius, is the “top table”.

As we described in an earlier piece, Codex is one of “three sisters” of international standard setting organisations recognised by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) “Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Agreement”, which together formulate global rules to protect human, animal and plant life or health.

Stopping off on Bristol to hear his wife deliver a conference on public health, Mr Knudtsen was on his way from Norway to Rome, to attend the annual Codex executive committee (pictured above, centre).

As one of the regional heads of his country’s Food Safety Agency, and the a Codex committee chairman, he agreed to talk to us about the vital role of Codex, its relationship with the EU and with Norway and the EEA, and its task in making the rules that govern international trade.

What makes this particularly relevant is the ongoing controversy about the so-called fax law and Mr Cameron’s claim that – like Norway – we would be governed “by fax” from Brussels if the UK quits the EU.

As Mr Knudtsen pointed out, though, Norway – at least in his area of speciality – is not governed in this way, even though, paradoxically, most of the law covering fish and fisheries products does come from Brussels.

The paradox is explained by the way Codex works. Mr Knudtsen’s committee is 170-strong, with 50-60 countries most interested in seafood. The committee was established in 1963 and, with the active participation of the members, formulate the rules which the WTO accepts as the basis for trade.

Increasingly, member states and trading blocs – such as the EU – are adopting Codex standards as the basis for their own regulations, and are gradually undergoing a process where existing regulations are being changed so that they match Codex standards.

Thus, we have a process where standards are generated by member states working with this international body, for adoption by Codex. Often the EU (as indeed are other trading blocs) promotes their regulations, trying to get them accepted as the Codex standard, but the dominant driver is the science. This determines the standards necessary to protect public health and ensure fair trading practice.

Says Mr Knudtsen, a draft regulation may take 6-8 years to go through the system until it is finally approved, usually by consensus. Although there is a complex voting system, votes are usually avoided as being divisive. If there is not complete agreement, the preference is to rework the draft until all parties do agree. And, at any stage, a member state can veto a provision, through an informal process or, formally, by calling for a vote.

When it comes to Norway, trade in fish and fisheries products is a vital national interest, with 95 percent of products, worth €3 billion annually, being exported. And as an exporting country, says Knudtsen – like other major exporters – strict regulatory standards are a necessary and acceptable price to pay for what he terms “certainty”.

Companies preparing a product for export will not know from the outset the destination of any particular batch. Therefore, they want to be able to produce to a generic standard which will be accepted in any and every country to which the product might be despatched. They don’t want to be producing different batches to different standards.

But when it comes to framing those rules, Norway is fully involved right from the outset. It even pays approximately £250,000 a year to host the Codex fisheries committee. That gives Norway no specific advantage, Knudtsen says, but he agrees that it gives them what might be called “situational awareness” – an early and complete insight into what is going through the system.

Once the Codex standard is agreed, a hierarchy is created. Knudtsen openly admits – without the least hesitation – that Codex, and international bodies like it, form part of world government. Global trade requires global rules, and they produce them, handing them back to member nations and trading blocks such the EU and NAFTA, as well as the Asian blocs.

With the EU though, it also deals with the EEA, of which Norway is a member. We thus have a situation where the EU takes the Codex standards and in turn uses them as the basis of its own rules for its members and the additional EEA members.

At no stage, therefore, can it be said that Norway is simply the passive receiver of rules from Brussels. His country, says Knudtsen, has been involved at every step of the process from inception to the final formulation of the rules. Brussels then adds the EEA “packaging”, before passing it on, but the substantive issues have been agreed long before the standard formally reaches the EU. In no way, and at no time, does Norway ever feel that the rules have been imposed on it.

In Part II, we will continue this report, and look especially at the relationship between the UK and Codex.

Be in no doubt that I seek to Leave-The-EU and therefore you may well feel my personal Patriotism may influence my various blogs – but when we see scoundrels, charming and affable as they may be to gain the populist vote of the ill informed , like Nigel Farage and his cult, who make grandiose speeches and childish insults to gain personal publicity one realises that neither he nor any aspect of The EU represent the values and interests or the British concepts of ethics, morality and the codex of British law and justice, which were the greatest gift Britain gave, spread and imposed around the world in the last 500 years.

Clearly we should Leave-The-EU and distance ourselves from the likes of both the EU and the spiv and scam style of its leading lights like Farage.

Many will be aware that Nigel Farage spoke out boldly promising his party would NOT practice nepotism and then he was exposed employing his wife for £30K a year when even his constituency office was unaware that he she did any ‘work’ for UKIP!

We noted he was not alone with Godfrey Bloom renting familky premises on the public purse and employing members of his staff. Graham Booth seeking to place a relation in position to take over his post as MEP when he retired and need I continue?

Then we note the outrage of Farage in denouncing EU incomes and income tax and the use of tax havens when he himself has proven overseas bank accounts which my blogs have identified years ago, in both Belgium and The Isle of Man – a trail of hypocricy recently picked up on by the media – though very late in the day and hardly ‘news‘.

See: CLICK HERE for further details and there are many other examples of dishonesty, corruption and hypocrixy in Farage’s cult and its claque if you search my blogs or that of ‘Junius’.

Not one single solitary consequential fact published on any of my political blogs has EVER been shown to be materially inaccurate or misleading – not a single challenge of a substantial fact published has EVER been challenged or shown to be wrong. A measure of just how cowardly and vile UKIP under its present leadership is and how clearly they are totally unfit for any position of authority are the lies and efforts to silence and discredit me to try to suppress the facts and the truth I publish about the leadership of UKIP and its parasites – published in an effort to clean up the party and make it fit for purpose as a party individuals of standing, ethics and morality might wish to endorse rather than a money spinner for a clique of self serving scoundrels!

Hi,
good to see the highly funded media playing catch-up as this was published on this blog long ago!

Nigel Farage faces barrage of outrage after Mirror exposes his offshore tax fund

Newsline
Evidence: Farage fronted by Daily Mirror reporter Nick Sommerlad in Aberdeen

Shamed UKIP leader Nigel Farage faced outrage yesterday after his offshore tax wheeze was exposed by the Mirror.

Mr Farage opened a trust fund in the Isle of Man in a plan to slash his tax bill, our investigation revealed.

The explosive revelations have robbed the rabble-rousing MEP of his “man of the people” image, MPs said – finally “bursting his bubble” after years of soaring popularity in the polls.

His offshore fund was exposed just hours after the party suffered a humiliating by-election wipeout in Scotland, piling fresh misery on the UKIP leader.

Labour MP John Spellar said: “I know Nigel Farage wants to appeal to disaffected Tories, but copying some of the Tories’ biggest donors by setting up offshore trusts to avoid tax is taking things too far.

“It’s typical of UKIP – they talk about how much they love this country but don’t want to pay taxes here – it’s just hypocritical.”

Fellow MP John Mann added: “This is a man who says he’s more English than the rest of us, when in fact he has been taking money off the EU while setting up an off-shore trust.

“His bubble has well and truly burst. It’s absolute hypocrisy funded by the European taxpayer.”

On Twitter Labour MP Ian Austin asked whether news of an “off-shore, tax-avoiding trust dents city trader Phony Farage’s ‘man of the people’ pretence?”

Even David Cameron was dragged into the scandal – fending off questions over his Cabinet Minister’s tax affairs.

Asked whether anyone in the Government sitting around the Cabinet table held trust funds offshore, the Prime Minister’s spokesman said: “There are rules about interests and they should be followed.”

He added: “Mr Farage’s tax affairs are a matter for him.”

Mr Farage told the Mirror he did not benefit from the Farage Family Educational Trust 1654.

Companies House documents indicated that the fund was a shareholder in Farage Ltd – a financial firm owned by his brother Andrew in which the UKIP leader also once had a stake – until 2011.

The MEP insists he never received any dividends from the firm, which had been paid solely to his brother, and had transferred his shareholding in the company to the trust fund.

Farage Limited’s accountant Spencer Watson told the Mirror that all £969,000 in dividends were paid to Andrew.

Mr Farage said: “My financial advisers recommended I did it, to have a trust really for inheritance purposes and I took the advice and I set it up.

“It was a mistake. I was a completely unsuitable person for it. I am not blaming them it was my fault.

“It’s a vehicle that you chuck things in through your life that you don’t need and you build up a trust fund for your children or grandchildren.

“It was called an educational trust and could have been used for grandchildren’s schools fees, things like that.

“It was a mistake for three reasons. Firstly, I’m not rich enough to need one and I am never going to be.

“Secondly, frankly, the world has changed. Things that we thought were absolutely fair practice 10 years, 20 years ago, 30 years ago aren’t any more.

“Thirdly, it was a mistake because it cost me money. I sent a cheque off to set it up.”

Mr Farage last night claimed he “felt uncomfortable” about the fund but insisted he did not avoid tax.

He told the BBC he wanted to cut his family’s inheritance tax bills but realised he had made an “error”.

And he admitted such funds were no longer appropriate for politicians.

He added: “I don’t think you can be in public life and have a family trust.

“The public do expect very, very high standards. I should not have bought the policy. It was an error.”

Ukip Activist Marty Caine Provokes Fury by Branding Drummer Lee Rigby’s Family ‘Idiots’

By : Subscribe to Timur’s | June 1, 2013 1:02 PM GMT

Marty Caine

Marty Caine

A Ukip activist has provoked revulsion after branding the family of the murdered British soldier Lee Rigby “idiots” for issuing an appeal for calm in the wake of the Woolwich attack.

In a statement on Friday 31 May, Rigby’s family including his mother Lyn, stepfather Ian, wife Rebecca and son Jack, said: “We would like to emphasise that Lee would not want people to use his name as an excuse to carry out attacks against others. We would not wish any other families to go through this harrowing experience and appeal to everyone to keep calm and show their respect in a peaceful manner.”

Writing on Twitter, Ukip’s Marty Caine said: “Like a lot of idiots they believe the EDL are right-wing fascists I suppose.”

Caine is a Ukip activist in Poole and Mid-Dorset, and has described his role as “the creation and implementation of various social media sites to help promote Ukip, which includes the building and maintaining of our branch website and forum”.

Caine posted the offensive comments under his personal Twitter account “Marty Caine UKIP”.

The remarks prompted widespread anger across social networking sites.

But Caine refused to retract his comments, saying they had been taken “out of context”.

“It is generally best to ignore idiots. Thats what I do,” Caine said in a later post.

He added: “The multicultural thing is not exactly working too well right now. It is a sad day when people no longer have the right to protest about the things that are wrong in Britain.”

Police fear an anti-Islamic backlash following the tragedy in Woolwich, with a sharp increase in hate crimes across the country, including attacks on mosques, and violence against foreigners by suspected right-wing thugs.

EDL leader Tommy Robinson led a rally of more than 1,000 EDL protesters in central London last week, where 13 people were arrested.

In the wake of the Woolwich attacks, Caine voiced sympathy for the EDL, saying he was “impressed with their restraint”.

Mosques have been targeted in arson attacks and a series of marches by white nationalist groups including the English Defence League and the British National Party are planned for central London and cities across Britain.

Suspects Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebolawe have both been charged with murder and other terrorist offences after being shot by police marksmen as they lingered at the scene of his death.

Nick Lowles, founder of anti-extremist group Hope Not Hate, called Caine’s remarks “disgusting”.

Lowles added: “Marty Caine is well known for his fierce and bullish defence of Ukip. He also advocates the violent thugs of the EDL. Surely Nigel Farage and Ukip have to kick out this sick individual from their party?”

Neither Ukip nor Caine returned our calls on Saturday 1 June.

Hi,This internal UKIP conversation was forwarded to me by someone seeking to expose the underlying levels of racism in UKIP, who had had it mailed to them so to protect their identity I had to leave out the next step of the conversation, but this alone goes some way to show just how deeply entrenched is the inadequacy of many senior UKIP members and just how ignorant they are of the background of many Muslims they are, not to mention how unchristian their values are amongst UKIP and how extensive their racist roots are!

On 23 May 2013, at 21:46, Brian Ransley <brian@dandini.com> wrote:
Hi Piers & colleagues,
Yesterday’s incident in Woolwich and Cameron’s pathetic claptrap today – “never give in to terrorism” – it’s been here in the UK for years and successive governments have done nothing. Surely this gives UKIP a chance: let’s get away from the widely held and spouted view of CON/LAB/LIB politicians that the vast majority of muslims are law abiding and these attacks are isolated incidents. The modus operandi is clear although it’s not in the Koran – jihad is being preached by imams in mosques up and down the country while our PC-riddled police turn a blind eye. Incitement to kill is a serious crime in this country and the perpetrators must be rounded up and punished. Many muslims have dual passports, allowing them to come and go as they please in order to visit grandma in a remote part of Pakistan etc. Anyone convicted of incitement who is found to have “dual nationality” should be deported immediately on completion of their sentences, (although British public is also tired of putting them up at their expense). No sharia law either – if they can’t abide by British laws then their welcome is ended. It’s time the police did their job – access to emails and the internet in general is easy and intelligence gathering is well within their grasp provided the politicians leave them to do the job.
And on the subject of political control of the police: the 16% turnout and the ridicule poured down on our Kent Police Commissioner following her ridiculous appointment earlier this year stand out: time already to abolish this expensive and unnecessary layer of bureaucracy. The Home Secretary is an elected politician and to he alone should the police report. And let the police do the job they were designed to do – as Tom Windsor spelt out a few weeks ago – TO PREVENT CRIME – instead of this stupid “keeping us safe” (they don’t and can’t of course without shutting everything down).

I think it should be made plain that the entire family of any individual who commits a terrorist are all deported. I do not believe the claims of family members that they never knew their husband, father, or brother was planning jihad. These people might think twice if while they were enjoying paradise with their 40 virgins (what do the women get?) their families are sent back to the hole they left behind in the middle and far east.
But it will never happen.

I appreciate this does not represent the views, values or opinions of all in UKIP but it is irefutable that UKIP leade rship is represented by this type of conversation or why else would they prostitute UKIP to support and assistance to their undeniably racist allies in The EU.Claims that UKIP are not racist are clearly dishonest, and as plausible as The EDL pretending they have ethics and represent anything other than the basest and most odious in our society – yet you will be aware that various senior UKIP members are closely affiliated to The EDL and some attend their vile parades and protests.

One need only read the vile incitement to hatred based on superstition and ethnicity emanating from the odious liar and UKIP MEP Gerard Batten to realise just how racist UKIP is and furthermore just how blinkered they are to their own racism and corrupt hatred and all based on stupid superstition and ignorance!

It never ceases to astonish me that UKIP members can be foolish as to reject my considered contention that UKIP led by Nigel Farage is about as much use, in terms of EUroScepticism as they are fit for purpose leading an EU withdrawalist group!

I have REDACTED the names of those to whom distribution was made as I gather that sadly, it being UKIP, certain of the recipients of the correspondence shown were being harassed for being recipients of this correspondence where clearly they had not authored the material.

I have NOT seen rebuttal of this unpleasant racist series of UKIP eMails to date! However I am unsurprised as clearly UKIP is a fundamentally racist party, as shown by its close association with various more honest and overt racist parties and organisations!

Richard Wilkins UKIP Candidate in The Isle of Wight Admits in Court to Electoral Fraud!!

UKIP candidate admits election fraud

By a County Press reporter

Friday, November 1, 2013

UKIP candidate admits election fraud

Former Isle of Wight Council UKIP candidate Richard Wilkins.

A UKIP candidate who stood in Isle of Wight Council elections this year, has been banned from public life for five years, after admitting he forged signatures on his nomination form.

Richard Wilkins’ electoral fraud came to light when a Conservative supporter was called before local party leaders to explain why she had supported a UKIP candidate, Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court heard today (Friday).

Fifty-one-year-old sole trader businessman Wilkins, who stood for the Newport North seat won by Matthew Price, forged six of the ten signatures he needed on the form, magistrates were told.

It was the second case of its kind in two months against a UKIP candidate brought under the Representation of the People Act. Another candidate was fined £110 for a similar offence in Cambridge in a separate incident.

Wilkins’ solicitor Barry Arnett told the court that elements of UKIP had given out wrong advice — saying that, provided permission was given by householders, nominations could be signed by candidates.

Wilkins, of Fairmount Drive, Newport, admitted forging the signatures between March 1 and April 15 this year. Despite publicity about the investigation before the May 2 election, Wilkins polled 168 votes, 19.5 per cent of the ballot.

Conservative Cllr Price won the seat with 356 votes, while a Labour candidate polled 173.

The police investigation was launched after Island Conservatives discovered the name of one of their members had appeared on Wilkins’ nomination form, without her knowledge.

Others — including Wilkins’ sister and brother-in-law — only discovered their names had been used without permission when Isle of Wight County Press chief reporter Emily Pearce contacted them, said Tracy Connors, prosecuting.

Wilkins’ solicitor Barry Arnett said: “It was the first time my client had ever stood as a candidate and in my submission UKIP are also to blame in not advising him properly and adequately in election procedures.

“He had previously completed a legitimate form but it was rejected because, while they were genuine names and signatures, some of the people were not on the electoral roll. That gave him less than 12 hours to get another form completed.

“As a result of my client’s representations UKIP has now changed its policy.”

He suggested further improvements UKIP should make to prevent the electoral process and people like his client suffering in the future.

He said his client had lost two stone in weight and suffered mental health and financial problems as a result of the case.

“He is a broken man and accepts that is through his own folly,” said Mr Arnett.

Sentencing Wilkins, presiding magistrate Jennifer Jennifer Thorpe told him: “You put yourself in a position of trust and abused the electoral process. People whose signatures you used were emotionally affected by your deceit.”

Despite a probation report which said his 24/7 on-call business would be badly affected if he had to do community service, Wilkins was ordered to complete 150 hours unpaid work.

He was also told to pay £85 costs and a £65 surcharge in addition to his ban from public life, which bars him from standing for public office.

UKIP ELECTED COUNCILLORS & TURNCOATS from other parties and none (independents) as at13-Apr-2013!

A somewhat meagre list when you consider the 1,000s of available seats and the realisation that there are ZERO MPs, Assembly Members, Mayors or Police Crime Commissioners!

Despite much huff and puff from EUkip leadership & their claque setting about to mislead with over blown claims of landslide growth, when in fact the numbers show the facts and clearly membership figures are untrustworthy, as with branches, as they have a track record of in reality dishonesty but let us give them the title they should find more acceptable – misleading spin!

.
Hi,
here is the full list of councillors that UKIP lays claim to – however it should be compared, like for like, with the two main parties who tend NOT to include the largely inconsequential Town & Parish councillors.
The only councillors of any real significance are County, Unitary & Borough councillors.
This is the most comprehensive list I could compile but would welcome any corrections with provenance from named individuals via the comment section or by eMail or phone – thanks, the aim is accuracy as ever!
There are several 1,000 Council, Borough & Unitary councillor seats open for election in Britain and UKIP lays claim to around 70 though a number of these are NOT UKIP councillors by election as a number of them are turncoats from other or no party (independents).

It will be interesting to speculate howmany quit their party before they were dumped at the upcoming local election – I have not differentaited between the largely irelevant Town & Parich Councillors and the slightly more significant County, Borough & Unitary Councillors.

It will also be interesting to see howmany are re-elected as UKIP Councillors!

Anyone with who is able to supply a more comprehensive listing would be most welcome as then we can list the names of the individual councillors AND whether they were elected as UKIP councillors or are turncoats, for whatever reason.

FT History of the Rise of Nigel Farage & HIS Political Cult!
Failure of The FT to show any analysis demeans the article as just a PR stunt!
So let’s look at some of the points from my personal perspective, as a supporter of UKIP’s sometime core aims since long before Farage left school!
A supporter of UKIP and believer that for UKIP to be of any value to Britain it MUST clean up its act and introduce some gravitas and structure, training and ethicality or it will remain unfit for purpose, just a one man band out of control!

Nigel Farage

By George Parker

For David Cameron and Britain’s other mainstream politicians, Ukip’s maverick leader now poses a clear and present danger. Is it time to take him seriously? By George Parker
Nigel Farage©Philip Sinden

On election day May 6 2010, a man in a pinstriped suit boarded a light aircraft at Hinton-in-the-Hedges, Northamptonshire. Trailing on the dewy grass was a banner bearing a forlorn last-minute appeal: “Vote for Your Country – Vote UKIP.” Hardly anyone bothered to turn up.

While the world focused on a grey-faced Gordon Brown’s desperate fight to cling to power and on David Cameron confidently preparing for Downing St, the plane began its ascent over the English countryside. Within minutes, it was clear something was badly wrong: the banner was wrapped around the aircraft’s tail and rudder.

Nigel Farage’s relentlessly upbeat demeanour suddenly changes. “I thought: this is probably it,” he says. What does he remember? “The noise. The noise of the nose hitting the ground. Bang! I can still hear that.” His voice cracks.

“I barely want to think about it but I was upside down, completely caved in. I could hardly breathe, I was covered in fuel oil. I was desperate to get out … desperate. I kept pushing … I couldn’t get out. I thought, this thing is going to catch fire. Very scary. I promise you – that is very, very scary.”
Interestingly the pilot Justin Adams was trapped in the plane for a considerable time and suffered long term damage yet there is never any mention of him. Adams insisted that Farage sought compensation from his general accident indemnity yet he himself lost his plane, his business and aas a result his home and was divorced  whilst Farage having effectively gagged him ensured he himself gained cuedos & even foolishly alluded to a Messianic status having survived!

Sadly Justin Adams, seriously damaged by the events, was persecuted by the law and Farage’s claims led to his imprisonment!

This is Farage, leader of the UK Independence party, as you never see him. The heavy-smoking, beer-drinking maverick – scourge of Brussels and terror of Britain’s political elite – is a man lodged in the public consciousness as a jovial insurgent, dispensing barroom wisdom with remorseless good cheer.

It is the bar room wisdom masquerading as policy dispensed on the fly that has done so much harm to UKIP as a party and converted it from serious politics to a cult right down to the hired and paid ‘Praise Singers’ more redollent of third world politics!

But there is another side to Farage. The man pulled from the wreckage – sternum split, lung punctured, 10 bones broken, rosette slightly askew – emerged with a new-found purpose. Behind the jokey façade is a man with a deadly serious intent: to smash open the British political system and lead the UK out of the European Union.

“I think the accident made him more ruthless and more single-minded,” says David Campbell Bannerman, a former Ukip deputy leader. The British public and an increasingly anxious political elite across Europe are now starting to ask: “Where did Nigel Farage come from and where is he heading?”

Nigel Farage©Philip Sinden

Although Ukip has been around for 20 years and won 13 seats in the last European elections, the party’s rise under Farage’s leadership has been remarkable.

So also, it is worth noting, has the fall in identifiable individuals of probity and ethics amongst its activists where it seems personal ambition is best fulfilled, not by espousing ‘Leave-The-EU’ but by adding to the Farage cult mind set with unconstructive blind promotion of ‘Our Glorious Leader’.

The big leap forward was during the leadership of Roger Knapman which Farage inheritted but even so under Farage he has fallen out with and lost about 1/3rd. of his MEPs and it is only now that his partyu is clawing back to its previous membership levels of approaching 30,000, the recent climb back aided by issuing free membership for a period!

When Farage fell from the Northamptonshire skies on polling day in 2010, the crash was little more than a footnote in the general election. Ukip polled a modest 3 per cent and Farage’s own attempt to oust the House of Commons Speaker John Bercow in his Buckingham seat was a conspicuous failure: he was even beaten into third place by a strongly pro-European independent candidate. For many, the crumpled figure hauled out of the wreckage that morning was already a busted flush.

Less than three years later, and Farage is revelling in his party’s best-ever result in a parliamentary election. Ukip did not win the Eastleigh by-election, but it would be hard to tell from the demeanour of the party leader as he swaggers through a crowd of well-wishers amid a sea of lurid purple banners in the faded town centre.

The swagger4 is of course a studied pose as when one looks at the actual results in domestic elections over the last 3 months there is little reflection of the much quoted successes and generous pollsters results.

To be fair Farage has had  a couple of notable successes in by elections which stood out from the norm but even so after 20 years UKIP has still failed to get anyone of note elected to any seat in Britain!

The contest confirmed that Ukip under Farage is becoming a serious force, shearing off support from Cameron’s Tories but also claiming that two-thirds of its Eastleigh vote came from former Labour and Liberal Democrat supporters and previous non-voters.

Indeed Farage’s party is becoming a ‘serious force’ and for the first time will enter the general election able to destabilise seats in a few areas as never before but that must not be construed as a threat to the Tories across the board. Farage’s staff are the first to boast that they take votes from all parties and clearly this is true and in differing proportions in different areas – so as a threat to the Tories the Tories themse4lves are the greratest threat with the pucillanimity of the cuts and resultant failure to make good the damage done to Britain and to our economy of the corrupt, self serving unlucky 13 years of misrule by the economically illiterate Labour Party.

That much of the damage is done by membership of The EU is a message UKIP has failed to get across to the public at large and thus scaremongering over immigration and overt support of racism has been the stock in trade of Farage’s cult.

A party supposedly comprised of “cranks, gadflies and extremists” – in the words of former Tory leader Michael Howard – fielded an articulate healthcare specialist, Diane James, as its candidate. James came second to the Lib Dems with 28 per cent of the vote; most agreed that if the campaign had lasted another week she would have won.

It is also noted that Diane James for all the mystery of her background, has clearly been UKIP’s best candidate in any election to date and this was reflected in the vote! Many have even said that she did far better than could have been expected had Farage stood in Eastleigh and I feel they may well be right.

Yet others have said that if only Diane James had been elected there would be just cause to oust Farage as the ostensible leader of UKIP and give her5 the job, that would of course be dependent on her having the force of character to confine Farage to the job of party performer for the media and other areas of showmanship at which he is so good.

It is worth noting that Diane James was not just second beating the Tories and Labour but was a close second to The LibDims who although they won saw their majority cut to ribbons in one of their safest seats.

“We will take this tremor in Eastleigh and turn it into a national earthquake,” says Farage (it rhymes with “barrage”) in his clipped, military tones. But already his party has shaken the political establishment and forced Cameron’s Conservatives – fearing a fatal schism on the political right – to start engaging Ukip on its chosen battleground: Europe and immigration.

. . .

The 48-year-old man pulling the strings has other things on his mind when we meet in an Italian café in Westminster. Heavy bags under his eyes, he is drained by a schedule that takes him between “that dump” Brussels (where he works as an MEP) and Britain, where he lives in the Olde England Kentish village of Downe.

“I caught up with the post at midnight last night,” he says. “Fines for this, fines for that. If I don’t do my tax return they’re going to put me in jail.” Such is Farage’s dominance of his party (no other Ukip member comes close to his profile) he is in heavy demand from media across Europe. “On the day of Cameron’s Europe speech I did 16 hours of broadcasts,” he says. Campbell Bannerman – who left Ukip to become a Tory MEP – says Farage recognises he has become “a cult”.

The great drawback of forming such a cult is that it is totally dependent on a single man and if Farage were bought off with a deal or offer from the Tories one could expect UKIP to collapse – it is this great ineptitude in terms of leadership and the fear of delegation that leaves Farage over stretched and UKIP with only one recognisable individual and spokesman!

“There’s no escape … no escape,” Farage says. “I’m generally a pretty ebullient, optimistic person. I try to enjoy life, but are there just little times when you think, ahhh? Of course there are. No human being can work the number of hours I do a week and not have the odd moment like that.”

Nigel Paul Farage was born in Kent in 1964, one of two sons of a colourful and hard-drinking City stockbroker. Guy Justus Oscar Farage’s propensity to mix work with pleasure was clearly influential on the young Nigel, who followed his father into the City as a highly remunerated commodities trader. (Andrew, Farage’s younger brother, also headed to the City, where he still works as a broker on the London Metal Exchange.)

Guy, who became an alcoholic, divorced his wife Barbara when Nigel was five. But Farage acknowledges his father’s influence: like Guy – “the best-dressed man in the stock exchange at the time” – Nigel bears the demeanour and attire of a City gent before the barbarians were allowed in after the 1986 “Big Bang” reforms.

Nigel Farage receives treatment after a plane crash in 2010©INS News Agency LtdFarage after his airplane accident, May 6 2010

The sense of nostalgia for a bygone age was summed up by the story of when Guy – who kicked the bottle in his mid-thirties – was in the lift with Sir Nicholas Goodison, chairman of the London Stock Exchange, at the time of Big Bang and lamented, “You’ve ruined the best gentleman’s club in the world.”

In spite of his father, Farage enjoys a pint, using his local, the George & Dragon, as a testing ground for Ukip policies: “In my village pub they are totally against,” he says of Cameron’s plan to legalise gay marriage. To complete the anti-politician image, Farage is a heavy consumer of Rothmans cigarettes and enjoys sea-fishing and country sports. A Barbour-clad Farage loves cricket and used to be seen enjoying hare coursing – until it was banned in 2005. In short, he is a young-ish fogey: most people are surprised to learn he is still in his forties.

Farage is also a walking health-insurance nightmare. After leaving the prestigious Dulwich College in south London – alma mater of P.G. Wodehouse – and embarking on his City career he was knocked down by a car, aged 21, on his way home from a pub argument about UK-Irish relations – heavily lubricated by Irish whiskey and English ale.

Lucky to survive, he was only just emerging from a year in half-plaster when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Farage has expressed his “gratitude to evolution” for providing him with a spare: he has gone on to father four children in the course of two marriages. Given his track record, it was perhaps no surprise to see him staggering out of a crashed plane.

Traders at the London Stock Exchange in 1984©GettyTraders at the London Stock Exchange in 1984; Farage followed his father into the City before taking up politics

In spite of his success in the “trench warfare” of commodities trading – a lifestyle punctuated by spread betting and drinking – by the early 1990s Farage was becoming increasingly political. He feared that the traditional British way of life he cherished was in some way under threat from a European project whose ambitions were expanding rapidly.

His opposition to the EU crystallised as Britain dabbled with what he regarded as the lunacy of the Exchange Rate Mechanism – the precursor to the euro. The Maastricht treaty of 1992, which paved the way for a much closer union and the creation of the single currency, radicalised him.

But Farage was very different from most of the other founder members of Ukip in the early 1990s. He was young for a start and had an internationalist outlook. After divorcing Clare Hayes in 1997 (the couple had two boys, Sam and Tom) Farage married a German government bond broker, Kirsten Mehr, with whom he has two girls, Victoria and Isabelle. He had an agency business in Milan and worked for two French companies. By contrast, his new colleagues had personal memories of when a real military threat came from across the Channel: “You could always tell a Ukip meeting by the number of Bomber Command ties,” he says.

Interestingly Kirsten was working for Damian Hockney, in his office, when Farage met her I believe, where she was far from being a German Bond Broker as Hockney owned a hairdressing magazine!

Articulate and media-savvy – Farage likes to hold press briefings in pubs – he quickly rose through the party. By 1999 he was an MEP and in 2006 he was elected party leader. Although he briefly quit as Ukip leader in 2009 to contest the Buckingham seat – he said he was fed up with being “head cook and bottle washer” – he was back a year later. A remarkable renaissance was now under way.

Thast Farage defined himself as ‘head cook and bottle washer’ is a reflection on his ineptitude as a leader and his inability, or is it trust, that leads him to fear delegation!

The crisis in the eurozone fuelled Ukip’s rise, as did a sense that Britain lost control of its borders in the past decade when hundreds of thousands of Poles and Lithuanians came to the UK. But polling suggests that Farage is primarily surfing a wave of hostility towards all mainstream politicians: Ukip has become Britain’s protest party of choice.

Sadly this is all too true and thus UKIP as a party has a very questionable future as its dependence on one man makes it fragile particularly in its cult nature and people do not, it seems, vote for UKIP anymore as a Political Party or even as an anti EU membership party but merely as an accrual point for the protest votes.

The most dramatic consequence of Ukip’s growing popularity was Cameron’s decision in January to offer a British referendum on EU membership in 2017, if he wins the next election. The move was intended to halt the Farage surge, but for now at least it seems to have had the opposite effect. “They’re coming to play on our pitch now,” Farage says.

This does rather read as a Farage cult PR handout as in fact neither Farage nor UKIP had anything to do with the Westminster debate on EU membership nor the issue of a Referendum.

Farage failed the EUroSceptic movement pronouncing that he did not wish to destabilise the Tories during the EU Constitution efforts that were subsequently enacted as The Lisbon Treaty!

Farage’s fan club took absolutely no action in opposing the new and ever more binding EU Treaty! Nor had Farage or UKIP taken any action to promote a referendum nor a debate in The UK that was almost solely down to Nikki Sinclaire an Independent MEP forced out of Farage’s UKIP based on gender, lies about her promoted by Farage and his stooges and her refusal to compromise her integrity in support of overt racism, anti homosexuality and convicted anti Jewish fellows of Farage’s party in the EU.

In Eastleigh, Farage proved he could combine his anti-EU message with a more visceral campaign against mass immigration. He claims that Europe’s free movement rules will lead to a mass influx of Romanian and Bulgarian migrants next year when travel restrictions are lifted.

The ability to govern people is as Thomas Jefferson made clear ‘dependent on fear’ and was it not Benjamin Franklin who taught the Labour Party their only political wisdon that ‘No people will elect a government that raises taxes once they realise they can vote for free handouts’ or some such ;-(

That Farage has led his party down the populist route of gaining votes through the shibboleth of fear is to have demeaned and debase the very noble aim of Leave-The-EU espoused by EUroSceptics.

Ukip has other radical – some would say ludicrously unaffordable – policies to cut taxes and increase spending on the police, prisons and army, but the public is barely aware of them: Europe and immigration are Ukip’s greatest hits. Farage makes immigration sound like it is the most pressing issue facing Britain and the message is resonating.

One can relatively safely show that the vote for Farage’s party in Eastleigh was almost totally dependent on the fear of immigration which they promoted. Indeed that their candidate, though standing as a UKIP ppc, is actually an Independent Councillor involved with an adviser and lobbyist of The EU!

“I moved out of Southampton because you had a job to hear English being spoken,” says Stuart Wellstead, a handyman living in a cul-de-sac in the Eastleigh suburbs. “I can’t understand why we have an open-door policy when so many of our own are unemployed.”

Cameron and Labour’s Ed Miliband have inexorably been drawn on to policy terrain where Farage knows he is invincible: while mainstream politicians cannot rip up Europe’s commitment to the free movement of workers, the Ukip boss can offer voters like Wellstead the simple expedient of leaving the EU altogether.

Many of the so called policies of the Farage message are not only uncosted but unworkable as is the childish notion that we could pass a law in our UK Parliament to Leave-The-EU and just quit. It is only from the security of knowledge that one will not be elected to enact such populism that such foolish concepts can be put forward as facts or even policies and promises.

It is only recently, it seems, that UKIP has even heard of Article #50 and the mechanism to which we have signed under international law for the concept of Leave-The-EU!

After Eastleigh, Cameron insisted he would not desert the centre ground, but his team spent the next few days talking about Britain pulling out of the European Convention on Human Rights and taking measures to stop “benefit tourism” by Romanian and Bulgarian migrants.

Cameron’s team may ‘talk’ all they want but membership of The ECHR is enshrined in law as a constituent part of The EU’s Lisbon Treaty and thus can not be withdrawn from as with the status of EU citizens from Romania & Bulgaria or anywhere else.

It has been made abundantly clear to Cameron & his propagandists that The EU is not a pick and mix menu for all of young George EUstace’s protestations or the posturing of some on Cameron’s front bench!

“They’re all at sea,” Farage says as he surveys the post-election fallout. “They are just being blown around by the wind. They’re more split than they’ve ever been and the problem is that nobody in his party believes Cameron any more.”

It is hardly surprising no one believes Cameron any more with such light weight advisers as George EUstace and the vacillation from outspoken opposition to EU membership of William Hague to his present position supporting The EU and some of the most ridiculous and divisive policies as the idiotic attack on Libya and now Mali in a so called ‘Arab Spring’ that has proved so catastrophic and ill informed speading the idiocy of US bellicose foreign policy in potential flash point or flames from Pakistan though Africa in a swathe of misery and war in almost every country on route and those it has so far missed live in teetering fear!

One Tory minister admits Ukip is already having a profound effect on British politics without having a single seat in the Commons. “It’s like the Green party in the 1990s – they ended up greening all the major parties and Ukip could have the same effect on issues like Europe and immigration.” Critics would say that Farage’s influence is malign and mean-spirited; he says he is only speaking up for the people.

Populism as a cult is always deeply questionable and destabilising and seemingly has so very much more influence from the more vile aspects of Nationalism than the laudable values of Patriotism, where so very many do not understand the differentiation!

The arrival of Ukip in 1999 at the European parliament was a culture shock to say the least. Ukip brought a penchant for banners, occasional public protests and rare flashes of passion to the sterile European parliament hemicycle. When Tony Blair came to the parliament in Brussels, Farage and his Ukip colleagues taunted him from their seats, festooned with Union Jack flags. The anger flashed across Blair’s eyes: “This is 2005, not 1945. We are not fighting each other any more.”

It was however Daniel Hannan’s erudite speech, excoriating Labour & its crass incompetence,  that resonated both across the peoples of EUrope and those in America who have discovered where Europe is!

Farage says a defining moment for him came in 2005. He was drinking champagne in the Brussels press bar to celebrate the Dutch rejecting the EU constitution in a referendum when a German MEP came by and said, “You may have your little celebration tonight but we have 50 different ways to win.” I thought, ‘My God, these people are frightening, they’re fanatical.’”

Though I would incline to the belief that Farage’s more notable Damascine moment was his rejection by the short lived Declan Ganley and the realisation that even when the peoples of France voted against The EU Constitution it made not a wit of difference as the unelected bureaucrats of The EU in complete contempt for democracy or the peoples of The EU merely renamed the document and forced it into being aided by a good measure of corrupt politicians and yet more it had bribed or were too stupid to understand they were being manipulated!

It was at this stage, if my memory serves me right, that Farage increasingly moved from a position of Leave-The-EU towards a policy of appeasment and seeking to reform The EU whilst UKIP invented a series of policies, seemingly left over in David Bannerman’s briefcase from when he betrayed the Tories – a pretence to be a fully fledged political party rather than a campaigning Party with an aim other than self advancement!

. . .

In 2009 Britain returned 13 Ukip MEPs – the party finished second – and Farage became the leader in Brussels of a group of rightwing European parties which shared his desire to throw sand in the wheels of the EU. But with increased success came increased scrutiny of Farage; was he the jolly frontman for a movement with a less savoury side?

Let us not forget that the largest group in Farage’s odious Pan EU EFD political Group are the Italian Lega Nord who are strong advocates of membership of The EU and reformists espousing racial hatred, violence and extremism!

Godfrey Bloom

Ukip describes itself as a “democratic libertarian party”

Yet UKIP leadership show a singular misunderstanding of the meaning of Libertarian being inclined, it would seem, mor to the concept of libertine!

opposed to discrimination of any kind,

Yet Farage, Bloom & UKIP themselves have been found guilty of discrimination by a British Court of Law and Bloom has been censured and/or fined for his anti homosexual stance and anti German racism by The EU Parliament!

but it is part of the Europe of Freedom and Democracy group that includes the Italian Northern League, some of whose members have expressed sympathy with the extreme racist views of Norwegian mass-murderer Anders Breivik.

The Northern League’s Mario Borghezio declared in a radio interview that Breivik had “excellent” ideas, remarks which Farage condemned.

To condemn is somewhat meaningless from a so called leader, when he took absolutely zero action – just lip service to populism that totally betrayed the principles of almost all UKIP members!

Meanwhile Ján Slota, leader of the Slovak National Party, Ukip’s Slovak allies, has railed against his country’s Hungarian minority as a “tumour” and suggested dealing with Roma with a “long whip in a small yard”.

Farage rejects forcefully any suggestion his party is racist and points out that it does not allow any former BNP members to join (a proscription that is not applied by other mainstream British parties). This ban is on one level a defensive measure: Ukip fears that the shambolic BNP will try to reassemble under the Ukip banner through a policy of entryism.

Again populism of its lowest form and clearly for gain even inventing groups to hate who travel on the same Leave-The-EU track which UKIP members follow whilst UKIP leadership seem to have ameliorated their position as reformists for expediency and income!

Ukip’s members are at times famously politically incorrect, some would say misogynist. Ukip MEP Godfrey Bloom once quipped that “no employer with a brain in the right place would employ a young, single, free woman”, while Marta Andreasen (the party’s only woman MEP) last month defected to the Tories claiming Farage was “an anti-woman Stalinist dictator”.

Let us not forget UKIP’s female vanguard was headed up by Nikki Sinclaire MEP who had quit UKIP over its support of racism, dishonesty and corruption whilst Marta Andreasen was still happily wallowing in the gains she had made by supporting Nigel Farage and as his placement!

Having failed to get a place in the Tories and various other parties Andreasen was eventually manipulated into position as a UKIP MEP by Farage!

Farage chuckles at the idea that he does not like women. In 2006 he drunkenly suspended his hostility to the EU’s open borders policy to accept an invitation for a late-night drink from a “sleek and seductive” 25-year-old Latvian called Lita.

Lita told the News of the World that Farage was something of a stud and that they had had sex seven times before he fell asleep, “snoring like a horse”. Farage, in his memoirs, Flying Free, claims he was too drunk to perform, although he concedes the snoring. “Lita wasn’t screwed. I was.” He was in “fearful trouble” with Kirsten, but the master of unlikely escapes survived with his marriage intact.

This incident was probably THE greatest display of just how fragile is leadership of a cult and how little one can trust ones associates protestations of friendship in politics.

Not one single solitary member of Farage’s clique nor member of his party stepped forward to give one iota of support to him when he was exposed as consorting with this prostitute, who sold her story to the media.

I well recall the incident as I was THE ONLY individual who stepped forward in his defence and published a detailed rebuttal of the claims of the whore who had clearly invented the lurid details selling her body & reputation for a sum of around £15K.

One can only commiserate with Kirsten who has stood by him in this instance and others!

Polling shows Ukip’s abrasive message – anti-immigration, anti-Europe, anti-wind farms – appeals more to men than to women, but Farage angrily rejects suggestions that his party is an expression of the male midlife crisis: a party yearning for the past and railing against uncontrollable external forces.

For many UKIP is clearly based upon a fear of change viewing the past with rose tinted glasses. Some vote for UKIP out of xenophobia but it is my belief that very few of the votes for UKIP are actually for UKIP and rather using UKIP to register a protest against the two main parties that have formed our government in Britain in one form or another as the ‘establishment’ parties.

The selection of Diane James as Ukip’s candidate in Eastleigh is hailed by Farage as evidence that the party is broadening its base, and Farage describes as “moronic” the portrayal of his party as a bunch of be-blazered men drinking in the 19th hole. “Actually we’re picking up quite a lot of support from cool, trendy youngsters, who view Europe as an anachronism,” he says.

UKIP has failed to show the benefits of leaving the EU having banged on for so very long showing all the evils of tyhe EU. UKIP has in fact failed to convince and explain just how arcane is the concept of forming a super state behemoth in a global and increasingly agile world!

The party has seen questions raised about its funding arrangements. Some of his MEPs have run into trouble for expenses irregularities: indeed, a lot of Ukip’s money comes from the legitimate expenses payable to its dozen MEPs. Farage said in 2009 he reckoned he had received “pushing £2m” from the taxpayer over the previous decade. Farage also runs an office in London from the headquarters of the European Commission – ironically Margaret Thatcher’s former HQ in Smith Square – joking that he “takes the devil’s money to do the Lord’s work”.

Ukip was almost ruined after it received a £367,000 “impermissible” donation from former bookmaker Alan Bown – “honest Al” as Farage calls him – after it transpired that he was not on the electoral register when he handed over the cash. Only an appeal to the Supreme Court in 2010 spared the party from having to pay the money back.

The most damaging aspect of this incident was not the possibility of refund and the need to have the money re-donated via legal channels, a process UKIP had historically used when it was found a donor was a resident of the West Indies!

The damaging aspect for UKIP were, in my opinion, the costs UKIP incurred and the exposure of their policy of misleading British authorities and clear contempt for British laws and British Courts.

The party received donations of £314,000 last year from 66 sources – roughly 2 per cent of the money donated to Cameron’s Conservatives – including from Lord Pearson, a former Ukip leader and insurance man.

Stuart Wheeler, founder of the spread betting company IG Index, has also bankrolled the party. It has just nine staff in its central operation.

Ukip’s recent success – it is regularly scoring 10 per cent in national opinion polls – has brought new pressure to bear on Farage. A party that attracted eccentrics and the politically incorrect is now starting to lay down the law to those who bring the party into disrepute.

Let us not forget that consistently Farage’s UKIP do not reflect in votes the results that are attributed to the party by polls!

Nigel Farage speaking in France in 2012©AFPSpeaking in France last year.
On his home turf, the ‘media-savvy’ Farage likes to hold press briefings in pubs

Andreasen, who quit Ukip in a dispute over candidate selection, claims Farage is “desperate to control things” and surrounds himself with yes men, adding: “Either he gets what he wants or you’re out.” Farage has shrugged off the attacks, noting that Andreasen, a former EU chief accountant, has made a habit of acrimonious departures from various organisations.

Let us not forget it was the contol over candidate selection practiced by Farage that had gained Andreasen her position as an MEP in thwe first place! The ethics of exploiting corruption to one’s advantage yet renouncing it when it was likely to go against one must be considered a reprehensible lack of ethics, which is unsurprising from the dishonest and self serving Andreasen.

The party has acted to remove a local Ukip chairman for waging “a war against homosexuals” and, more recently, the leader of the party’s youth wing for saying he backed gay marriage and wanted to legalise drugs in breach of party policy. As it grows, the party’s constitutional commitment to “libertarianism” seems to be waning.

For a party claiming to be Libertarian one must question the move to authoritarian centralised power in one man’s hands.

“I don’t want us all to agree,” says Farage. “But here’s my problem: on the one hand I want us to take a traditional, liberal approach to politics and debate where we do feel free to say what we think, but on the other I can’t have people bringing the whole thing into disrepute.”

Double standards seem to be the order of the day with the dishonesty and criminal behaviour of such as Mick McGough or the verdict of guilty leading to the enforced repayment of over £30,000 purloined from the public purse by Derek Clark or the odious behaviour of Godfrey Bloom and I quote from an entry of today on UKIP controlled Forum where lies promoted by UKIP supporters are all too frequently endorsed  whilst the truth is challenged and those who provide it are censured or abused if presenting facts that expose corruption within UKIP!

QUOTE one extraxt from one of the longer standing UKIP members, a past branch chairman of some standing:

Mr Pain says that the charges against Mr Ellwood were disciplinary ones, and it were those which led to his dismissal. Quite ludicrous. Mr Ramsome chose to name UKIP in a drink-drive matter which had nothing whatever to do with his UKIP work. No disciplinary procedures followed. Mr Bloom was banned from a Brussels hotel for urinating in the foyers plant pot. The same gentleman’s protestations about disappointing service in a brothel was, likewise, not deemed a disciplinary matter. When did misconduct ever result in disciplinary action for any senior or professiojnal member? Mr Ellwood’s findings which showed about ninety percent of bank statement deposits over a three year period, had been converted into cash. It was this which prompted immediate action against him. All else is sheer sophistry.

Campbell Bannerman says that as Ukip becomes more like other political parties, Farage will struggle because “he doesn’t like policy, he doesn’t like detail”. But Farage rejects the idea that he is some kind of dictator. “I wish I was more of one really,” he says. “I don’t think I’m as tough as I ought to be.”

David Bannerman is a poor source when considering detail, facts or integrity as he has so often sought to pass himself off as some sort of nephew of a British PM from before WWI! Though in this instance I agree his analysis!

. . .

Farage acknowledges that the party is experiencing growing pains. He says there is a “lot of catching up to do” as Ukip tries to match its threadbare central organisation with its burgeoning national support, but says he has talented people around him – like Stuart Wheeler and Steve Crowther, the party chairman – to handle the day-to-day running of the party. He focuses on the “politics, media and helping with fundraising”.

To date Crowther would seem to be nothing more than a Farage placement puppet of little political ability, exp[erience or merit and clearly has introduced not one iota of professionalism of note.
Stuart Wheeler on the other hand has been the antithesis of professional in ethical terms – displaying a total, if sensible, lack of trust in UKIP’s, structure as in return for his support he insisted on being Treasurer! A position he took on with no concept of responsibility or ethics as he refused to accept the responsibilities of any treasurer of erthical stance stating he refused to consider the clear lack of integrity of the party he took over!

Just where are the talented people Farage speaks of for certainly there are no signs of independent competence and Farage controls the party from the center even having enacted diktat that permits only himself to select and control staff placement and the listings for candidates.

There are certainly plenty of potential problems ahead if Ukip continues to grow, but those problems are for the future. For David Cameron and Britain’s other mainstream politicians, Farage poses a clear and present danger.

Surely the facts show that the influence is directionless and dependent on just one man – surely an intolerably fragile state for any situation and hardly a model worthy of being called a party of consequence.

The indespensible man is, in this case, UKIP’s only media performer, spokesman or individual of consequence – hardly a model worth investing in in any commercial terms and less so in terms of reliability for these United Kingdoms!

Nigel Farage with Sophie Raworth on 'The Andrew Marr Show', March 3With Sophie Raworth on The Andrew Marr Show, March 3

The challenge is to work out what the danger is. Pollsters analysing Ukip’s surge from 3.5 per cent in Eastleigh in 2010 to 28 per cent this month – or indeed its national ascendancy – tend to agree on one thing: it has relatively little to do with the public’s hostility to Europe, an issue which never makes the top 10 of their daily concerns.

UKIP has patently failed to educate the British public or make a clear case to Leave-The-EU and as every commentator seems to agree UKIP does not gain votes based on a stance of Leave-The-EU or even on its own proclaimed policies but rather as the dustbin of the protest votes.

Lord Ashcroft, the Conservative business tycoon and pollster, has urged Cameron to keep calm and not pander to the Farage agenda. He argues that voters in Eastleigh know the difference between a by-election protest and the choice of a government in a general election.

Ashcroft expects Ukip to fade in the 2015 poll (when Britain’s first-past-the-post voting system discriminates against smaller parties), just as it did in the 2005 and 2010 elections.

There is every reason to expect Lord Ashcrodt is right as track record has shown since UKIP’s showing in real domestic elections has to date proved consistently risible as it tries to forge ahe4ad as a one man band centrally controlled with little or no meaningful infrastructure or even management ability. Just look at the calliber of UKIP’s NEC!

In an extensive piece of research, Ashcroft says Farage and his party appeal because of their general outlook. “Certainly, those who are attracted to Ukip are more preoccupied than most with immigration, and will occasionally complain about Britain’s contribution to the EU or the international aid budget,” he wrote.

Clearly he is right and UKIP has lost focus, assuming it ever really had any!

“But these are often part of a greater dissatisfaction with the way they see things going in Britain: schools, they say, can’t hold Nativity plays or harvest festivals any more; you can’t fly a flag of St George any more; you can’t call Christmas Christmas any more; you won’t be promoted in the police force unless you’re from a minority; you can’t wear an England shirt on the bus; you won’t get social housing unless you’re an immigrant; you can’t speak up about these things because you’ll be called a racist; you can’t even smack your children.”

Few of which are factually accurate  but cleverly exagerate, generalise and play on prejudice and fear – To get votes!!!!

Ashcroft concluded after Eastleigh that Cameron could best tackle Farage’s insurgency by proving that a mainstream Tory government could improve the quality of people’s day-to-day lives. “Our task is not to become more like Ukip, the party of easy answers, but to be the party of government that people want to vote for.”

One is tempted to say ‘No sh*t Sherlock’ but isn’t that what Governments are charged to do in the execution of their duty yet more and more we see politicians acting in their personal interests in pursuit of nothing more than power or in some cases merely gain!

Cameron’s problem is that many Tory MPs can see their chances of election victory in 2015 disappearing and are pushing him to the right – partly for self-serving reasons – to try to neutralise the Ukip threat.

Tory and Labour nerves could be shredded come next year if – as Farage hopes – Ukip win the 2014 European elections, only a year before the next general election. Many at Westminster now believe it is only a matter of time before Labour and the Liberal Democrats are forced to match Cameron’s promise of an EU referendum.

The result of Nikki Sinclaire’s Team effort which has already delivered 250,000 valid signatures to the UK Parliament, in her petition to hold a free, fair and informed referendum on an In / Out basis!

Won’t that make Ukip irrelevant? Farage says that successive hardline Tory leaders have promised to get tough on Europe and each time he has been told his party would be obliterated. “I’ve heard this before,” he says. “Do I trust Cameron? No.”

Does anyone in the face of his Government’s abject failure to implement the swinging cuts that stand any chance or repairing the British economy and the damage done by 13 years of misrule and economic illiteracy of their predecessors!

In any event, Farage’s uncanny ability to articulate Britain’s 21st-century concerns suggests he will remain a big factor in the next election. Some compare him to Alex Salmond, the Scottish Nationalist leader, who has channelled patriotism and a desire to break free from the dominance of “the other”. Farage says he hopes he has some of Salmond’s ability to “speak a language that ordinary folk understand”.

Sadly it is all too apparent that Farage has those same skills and the matching ineptitude in broadening the message beyond dependence on one man and with little or no conscience or competence in creating long term survival of the concept or the party without their presence!

After Eastleigh some Tory MPs believed they had found a chink in Farage’s bulletproof political persona. If Farage had stood, they claimed, he might well have won the seat. “Farage bottled it,” says George Eustice, a Tory MP. Andreasen claims he has grown to love the life in Brussels he professes to despise and does not really want to win a seat at Westminster.

I believe this is over simplistic and Farage is increasingly in a position where he can not afford Westminster exposure on a daily basis nor the loss of income he would experience – possibly realising that his stridency and showmanship may well shine on the EU stage but loses support in domestic elections where more substance is required!

Farage is getting used to the barbs but sounds like he is digging in for the long haul. Can Ukip win seats in the House of Commons? “It’s not guaranteed, because we’ve got a hell of a long way to go. And we’re going to need some senior figures to come and help us do that.”

Let us face facts – UKIP has never come even close to winning a seat in a Domestic General Election where people are inclined to both caution and habit.

But you can never be sure with Farage. After his surprise resignation as Ukip leader in 2009, he was persuaded only with some reluctance to come back to the top job after his brush with death at Hinton-in-the-Hedges.

“If I was honest, on a personal level, all of this has come at a massive sacrifice,” he says, staring into his Italian coffee. “The financial sacrifice has been huge. Many of my colleagues from the late 1980s are now extremely rich people and I don’t mean comfortably off, I mean extremely rich people.”

Many of Farage’s colleagues in the City from the late 1980s are also bankrupt, now in prison or spent in mental and medical terms. Thaty Farage might have progressed to achievement or even wealth seems unlikely based on his actual results in The City whether before he was fired by his French employers or after.

The long string of ‘closed’ companies that follow his track record is worthy of note in this context!

He pauses. “If I’d concentrated on business I would have been a very wealthy man. Do I mind that? No, I chose it. But I think the sacrifice of time, the complete lack of time for family and any sense of normality, that is a sacrifice. I’m not whingeing because I chose it, but it gets a bit wearing. And I did walk away from it once, remember.”

I trust MY thoughts and analysis will lead to others seeking to analyse the facts and perhaps realise that there is every reason to postulate that Farage has in fact sown the seeds for the destruction of UKIP and possibly even set back the possibility to Leave-The-EU in his personal ambition and determination to control.

It is however true, in my opinion, that without Farage UKIP may well have just remained an irrelevant also ran rival to The BNP, the Monster Raving Loonies and The EDL all on the same Nationalistic trail with little real thought of Patriotism!

Hi,
one need only read the apparent incitement to race hate based on supertition as published and distributed by Gerard Batten to realise there are aspects of racism and xenophobia that go right to the top in UKIP.

Time after time it is made clear that UKIP members at all levels are racist, xenophobic, anti homosexual and in many ways the failed of other parties who have come together out of greed, self interest and inadequacy to collectively promote their inadequacies, fears and hatred in the manner of introspective nationalists.

UKIP make much of bragging of patriotism when clearly they have as little understanding of the meaning of the word as they have of the aims and principles of Libertarianism.

Let us not forget the fact that UKIP leader Nigel Farage derives a substantial part of the bribes he gets from the EU from leading and having taken UKIP into the Pan EU EFD Group he founded – the sweepings of the gutter politics of EUrope beset with hatred, racism, criminality, anti homosexuality, anti Judaism and even going as far as to support many of the aims of Anders Brevik the cowardly mass murderer from Norway.

Yet again we see the ugly side of this collective of cranks and gadflies who so desperately try to stuff the truth of their core beliefs in the closet!

UKIP has desperately come off the rails in pandering to the populism of the lowest common denominator in persuit of its ambitions and self enrichment – doing great harm to the EUroSceptic aims of the majority in Britain who seemingly, in poll after poll, wish to Leave-The-EU.

Ukip Bristol Chairman Phillip Collins Insists ‘Put All Illegal Immigrants In Holding Centres’

Posted: 04/03/2013 11:29 GMT  |  Updated: 04/03/2013 12:16 GMT

Ukip

The chairman of Ukip in Bristol has backed controversial removal centres for illegal immigrants saying there should be “one in every town.” He also appeared to suggest that those entering the country illegally should be sent to prison.

Phillip Collins stressed that holding centres should not be the same as prisons, but added: “If they were to go to prison, really I would say a six month prison term for coming over here, using our facilities and using our services would be right for breaking the law.”

Speaking to the Huffington Post UK he said families should be broken up if one member is here illegally and other members aren’t.

He said: “They would be treated humanely and fairly and properly but would not be allowed into the wider community. If one member of a family is illegal and the others aren’t well, the illegal one would have to be put into the holding community. If the mother is illegal and the father is not, they should be separated.

“If they are ill then they can go to hospital but they should be escorted to hospital like prisoners. They should be held in the holding centre until they find papers for them. At the moment the police let them go but then they disappear and then they stay here forever.

“These holding centres would be like prisons with unlocked doors, then after they’ve all been used and we’ve got rid of all the immigrants then we could turn them into actual prisons.

Collins made the comments after an interview with VICE in which he insisted all Eastern European immigrants should leave the UK, and that this country, “within three or four generations will be a Muslim country.”

He told the magazine “Unless we do something about it, we’ll be the ones on the street begging for change.”

He also told their reporter that there should be two or three holding centres in every city.

Collins said these were his personal views are not the views of Ukip. “I’m not sure what official Ukip policy is,” he told the Huffington Post UK.

“There are two million illegal immigrants in the UK and there should be as many holding centres as necessary to keep all of them in,” he added.

“It sounds like a lot of money up front but it would create jobs. There are as many as two million illegal immigrants using all our services and facilities. “

Britain’s prison population stands at 84,000 with a maximum capacity of 88,000. The last formal study of irregular (illegal) immigrants in 2007 put the number between 417,000 and 863,000, according to the migration observatory.

Currently the UK has 12 immigration removal centres, with a capacity of 4055, which exist to house foreign nationals awaiting decisions on their asylum claims or awaiting deportation following a failed application. Of the twelve centres, half are devoted to purely male detainees.

The removal centres have proved controversial since their inception with opponents saying it is wrong to imprison people who are fleeing persecution and who have committed no crime.

A spokesperson for Migrants’ Rights Network told the Huffington Post UK there were significant problems with removal centres as “there’s no limitation for how long people can be held.”

“It’s a huge human rights and personal liberty issue. Individuals can spend years in detention while the UK Border Agency tries to remove them.”

Detention Action, which supports and campaigns with people held in detention centres, told the Huffington Post UK Collins was guilty of “wild exaggerations” about migration.

Campaigner Kate Blagojevic told the Huffington Post UK “There are a lot of myths and misinformation peddled about migration in the UK and Phillip Collins is repeating them word for word plus a few wild exaggerations, for example, saying that there are 2 million people are living in the UK without documentation is simply a lie.

“However, worryingly a lot of his suggestions are already in practice – people are escorted and handcuffed in hospitals; families are already broken up; and people are already held in prison like centres for months or even years.”

She said the current removal centres are “expensive, unnecessary and unfair,” saying that to hold someone for one day costs around £120 and added “people who are held for a year are more likely to be released than removed.”

Countering Collins’ claims she said: “We are one of the countries in Europe that detains people without any time limit and detain people as soon as they claim asylum.

“I speak to people daily in pubs and restaurants as well – they think that the UK had a duty to protect people who a seeking safely; to uphold a tradition of welcoming refugees; who believe that families should not be ripped apart; who believe that children shouldn’t grow up without parents; who believe that the UK should have an immigration system based on fairness not force.”

Detention Centre Rules insist that safety and security is to be maintained but “with no more restriction than is required for safe custody and well ordered community life.”

However there have been a number of disturbances at centres, shining a spotlight on the controversial practice.

At Morton Hall in Lincolnshire, three prisoners threatened to commit suicide in the past year, there have been riots and a group of 18 asylum seekers from Afghanistan going on hunger strike.

A Nigerian man scaled the roof in protest over his prolonged detention in August, while one Palestinian and one Malaysian protested at the the ‘disrespectful’ and ‘inhumane’ treatment at the hands of the guards. Allegations of racism and violence were also made by one anonymous whistleblower.

“The problem we have is these people feel they are treated like criminals when their crimes are simply fleeing their own country for whatever reason,” Iman Sajid from the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants said at the time.

Additionally, detainees at a Dover immigration removal centre who claimed they had been tortured were treated dismissively, prisons inspectors said in August.

In February an 84-year-old Canadian man died after becoming ill at an immigration removal centre near Heathrow airport. The Guardian reported that Alois Dvorzac was “extremely distressed” the day he was rushed to hospital with chest pains.

morton hall in lincolnshire

Morton Hall in LincolnshireUkip MEP Gerard Batten said Collins,’ idea was “superficially attractive” but impractical. In a statement to the Huffington Post UK he said: “We would expect all illegal immigrants to register as such with the authorities, in an advertised time period.

“If they do not, and the authorities become aware of their presence, then they open themselves to automatic deportation, as illegal immigrants.”

“It may be superficially attractive to think that all illegals should be processed though these centres, but given that there are only 4000 places in them when there are anything up to 1 million illegal immigrants in the country, it is neither humane nor practical to do so”.

gerard batten has been to UKIP's taylor for his comic act clothes!

Gerard Batten, in pink, said the idea was superficially attractive but not practicalUkip was accused by David Cameron of being a party of “fruit cakes and loonies and closet racists” in 2006, a description that has cast a shadow over the party ever since, despite fervent denials by Ukip.

However the founder and former leader of Ukip, Professor Alan Sked, says the party he launched in 1993 has become “extraordinarily right-wing” and is now devoted to “creating a fuss, via Islam and immigrants.” He told the Huffington Post UK in November “They’re not an intellectually serious party. Their views on immigrants and on [banning] the burqa are morally dodgy.”

However Collins says he represents the views of the majority, saying: “I speak to people daily in pubs and restaurants and on the street and all the British people feel this way. The other EU countries don’t abide by these rules, we’re the only country stupid enough to do this . There are A LOT of people who feel this way, the vast majority. The British people are being taken the p**s out of. “

Hi,
as I do not have direct permission to publish the sources of this eMail circulation, wide as it may well be, I have taken the liberty of publishing with sources redacted.

It does make it a tad more difficult to follow but I’m sure you can puzzle it out.

Subject: Re: UKIP Voting – in Brussels!

Hi REDACTED,
I’m not sure when REDACTED circulated this explanation of voting policy from an ‘EUKIP insider’, but, I’m afraid to say that it’s, at best, disingenuous!!!
EUKIP MEP’s have in fact voted for/signed up to EU legislation in the past, and they continue to do so!

[In early 2007, UKIP MEP Derek Clark signed an agreement in Bucharest endorsing subsidiarity and the Common Agricultural Policy?

Roger Knapman, ex UKIP leader, described (at the time) this as a “. . .major departure from what we believed to be UKIP’s policy – withdrawal from the EU, a complete rejection of its authority and of the CAP. Subsidiarity is an EU doctrine which assumes EU sovereignty. . . Accepting subsidiarity accepts ultimate EU sovereignty.”]

Now to the very recent Fisheries Resolutions:

1  On the final resolution relating to the fisheries vote (A7008/2013 Rodust), EUKIP did not support it, but abstained.  This was a vote to remove from the CFP the hugely unpopular, disgraceful and non-sensical discards policy where dead fish are thrown back into the sea.  The Tories, including Euro withdrawalists Hannan and Bannerman, supported the motion.

In fact, if one peruses the various RCVs (electronic votes) it gets worse; much of the time  EUKIP were voting against each other!  Example:

Amendment 220:  most of ukip voted ‘for’ but Farage and Bloom voted to

‘abstain’.

Amendment 253:  most of ukip were ‘against’ but Farage ‘abstained’.

So, where was the EUKIP whip – is there one?  Indeed, did EUKIP have a common policy on this motion or did different researchers and MEPs arrive at different conclusions?

Apart from providing ‘jobs for the boys’ who fall within the favour of Farage and his sycophants, what do the numerous staff in the Brussels branch of ukip actually do?   Certainly, most MEPs in ukip do not bother to attend their committees and ukip has two MEPs with amongst the worst attendance in Brussels – ie Nuttall and Bloom.  Attendance records can be checked by googling Vote Watch
EU.
[REDACTED, maybe your ‘insider’ could answer these questions?]

2  If EUKIP only vote in favour of repealing legislation, why did they not vote to support the Rodust motion, to end discards?!

3   EUKIP say:  “We do not vote FOR any EU legislation (unless it is to straight repeal something, or it censures the Commission, both super-rare), as we do not recognise the legitimacy of the EU, to make laws to govern our country.”

The best that can be said for this claim is that it’s a perfect excuse not to do any work or to scrutinise legislation. In other words, it enables EUKIP MEPs to remain even more lazy than their reputation suggests.

They cannot, of course, have it both ways.  If they vote in favour of censuring the Commission or repealing legislation, then they must recognise the legitimacy of the EU by voting in favour of motions!

The fact is, the EU legislates for the UK.  By ignoring such legislation, EUKIP MEPs do not take part in the process and produce no influence on that process whatsoever.   This was evidenced by Godfrey Bloom’s absence in his Finance Committee, when – due to that absence – a crucial vote affecting the UK tied. The legislation therefore proceeded to Plenary (when Bloom’s Committee vote could have halted it) and was passed.   Had Bloom bothered to attend, the motion would have been thrown out before it reached Plenary.   A Tory MEP referred to this in a Blue Card she put to Bloom some months ago. (Look it up)

Naturally enough, the excuses EUKIP employ are no more than to cover up gross laziness and slothful inactivity.   As Verhofstadt has stated of Farage, ‘what you are doing here is incredible;  you are cheating your own taxpayers’.   That outburst referred to Farage’s absence on his own Fisheries Committee.   Since then, Farage has resigned from his fisheries Committee and is now about the only MEP who does not bother to sit on any Committee.

4  Farage pushed off half way through the voting that Wednesday.  No surprise there:  Farage does whatever he wants but is notorious for excusing himself from voting – a primary purpose of an MEP.  If he had an interview, why did he not conduct it before voting or after voting?   Or could it be that affairs of state are secondary to publicity to satiated the vast ego of this upstart spiv?

5  Finally, here is an example of EUKIP’s absurd position:  if the EU voted to cease the killing of the first born, would EUKIP abstain because the legislation emanated from the EU?

The reality is that the EU makes laws.  The reason MEPs are sent to Brussels is to represent their constituents and nation.   They are not sent to join a well-paying gravy train and do as little as they possibly can get away with doing.

Finally, the claim that UKIP only votes to repeal legislation or censure the Commission is a lie.   On the 27th January,  2005, in a treacherous action, EUKIP MEPs voted to support ‘closer social, political and economic integration’ in the EU, in a motion connected to the holocaust, whose subtext called for ‘closer political, economic and social integration’ with the EU, for brainwashing in schools and for the outlawing of ‘xenophobia’, a thought-crime defined by the EU as merely an aversion to the Euro? EUKIP MEPs, who breached their own party constitution, neither apologised nor renounced this treachery.

Here, I pass to you some interesting information on UKIP voting policy in Brussels – widely criticised, but explained here, by “an insider”!
REDACTED.
=============================================================================================
REDACTED – The crucial Discards Ban vote (amendment 119) we voted against, but it was not RCV (roll call voted) so, no electronic record of it. The final vote was RCV and we did Abstain/No vote, as recorded.
We do not vote FOR any EU legislation (unless it is to straight repeal something, or it censures the Commission, both super-rare), as we do not recognise the legitimacy of the EU, to make laws to govern our country.  On the other hand, the Discards Ban went through and we could not vote AGAINST that, so ABSTAIN was only possible vote.

Also, a NO VOTE does not prove that Nigel was not there, he was there, as the other votes of the day prove, but he could have been interviewing with the BBC, or dealing with any ‘matter arising’ at the precise time of the final vote.

Granted UKIP’s voting is all but irrelevant as they only account for some 9 or ten votes out of some 760 – showing what a farce any pretence at democracy in The EU is!

On issues vital to Britain IF every UK MEP were to vote in Britain’s interest and all voted the same their say would be only 8% of the total and thus completely irrelevant.

Hence I frequently say that the income derived by MEP’s is not for work done for Britain but massive bribes paid from money The EU extorts ffrom those unfortunate enough to be members to use to bribe its lakeys to act as salesmen for the scam!
