UKIP are desperately trying to spin electoral catastrophy as some sort of achievement.
Just because the sole stated aim of UKIP was to beat their racist pals in The BNP so that UKIP racist MEPs could go back to engorging in Brussels, having had Farage & Croucher do so much to get Nick Griffin & Andrew Brons elected as MEPs by raising the profile of The BNP at every opportunity before the EU elections.
We now have the risible spectacle of UKIP leadership importing a Scouse spiv to mumble their policies in a near unintelligible manner on video see CLICK HERE and making idiotic statements of no political competence to The BBC.
We see at least 3 £Millionaires imported from the South East to this Northern Labouir stronghold:
Stuart Wheeler life time Tory Backer and multi Millionaire professional gambler. A dutiful Thatcherite who although he was the pro EU Tories biggest ever donor had seemingly zero influence.
Malcolm Lord Pearson whose Father was a Millionaire insurance salesman who placed his son at Eton where he was notable for his inconsequentiality and Father later hived off a part of his own business with competent directors and sent wee Michael out to lunch where it seems he has spent most of his life as a Thatcherite irritant.
Too unreliable on EU matters and to unprepossessing to be a PPC for Maggie she booted him into The H0L in return for his lifetime lunch contacts.
Then we have another southern spiv Nigel Farage, who is an excellent performer on the media but even in the promo video shown can not get through 3 minutes and 4 seconds in the office without a glass in his hand. This particular millionaire has made his money out of UKIP but it is doubtfull UKIP has had its money’s worth and clearly Britain and the tax payer haven’t.
So we have a Labour win with a hugely increased majority in the Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election.
Debbie Abrahams takes the seat with 14,718 votes (42 percent – up 10 points since the general election)
The Lib-Dims maintained their share of the vote, taking 11,160 (32 percent, up 0.32 points)
In 3rd. place The Tory vote collapsed, the candidate Kashif Ali taking 4,481 (12.8 percent, down 14 points).
Thus on a turnout of 34,930 (48 percent).
We have a new Labour MP on a mere 20 percent of the potential vote.
The Labour majority is 3,558.
The also rans were way down the scale – The also rans got about 13% of the vote!
UKIP is trying to put a brave face on their disaster with a mere 2,029 votes and just saved Paul Nuttall his lunch money by 0.8%
But despite ensuring that The BNP did well by raising their status endlessly talking about them UKIP did beat them by just over 1% and by under 500 votes – Wow!

I’m hoping that the characters do not resort to internal warfare and hope that any – cough – ‘positioning’ of individual characters stays in the realm of private debate rather than bursting into the public domain.
I have met all three of the declared and known candidates for my interview series and, while all three are very different in terms of personality, they were all incredibly warm and kind people.
It’s for that latter reason that I *hope* that the gentlemen in the race can maintain a generous, fair and healthy contest. I’m optimistic that they will…

As to your suggestion/conclusion – fine, how do we start one and who heads it? You can forget Hannan and Carswell – they are too wedded to their careers and I have virtually given up on them.
