Yet another excellent exposure of EU profligacy and waste with OUR money!
The News of The World also had a large quantity of material but have been persuaded to suppress it by the intervention of Nigel Farage seeking it seems to damage the efforts of Nikki Sinclaire to do the job she was elected to do – it would seem he has colluded with his mistress Annabelle Fuller and the Tory Head Office plant he placed in UKIP Press Office some time ago Stephen Sobey both of Athena-PR and long term friends and the apparent pack of lies and set-up structured by John Ison who is currently under investigation by the Police for various and numerous thefts.
The News of The World has been advised of the Crime Numbers and the position of The Press Complaints Commission under 10:1 some time ago and hence presumably they have not run with the dishonest penny ante smear set up against Nikki Sinclaire.
It may also have made the claims presented to The Sunday Times which had to be surrounded by ‘Allegedly’ with much frequency and The NoTW position look a little silly on the febrile evidence stolen to try to show what seem to be switched fuel receipts, presumably from one vehicle to another, and then made to look as if Sinclaire had fiddled about £1,200 look even more stupid when Guy Basnett realised from her published accounts, and the extensive help she gave him, that she had donated around £54,000 from her own salary to the cause of EUroRealism and also The Petition for a referendum.
It is worth remembering that when these CLAIMED receipts were being put into the accounts John Ison was responsible for Nikki Sinclaire’s transport and for her to have signed off a receipt it would first have been approved by John Ison who was in a position of trust and commensurately salaried!
Many MEPs have reservations about scanners because of human rights issues (Joern Pollex)
Six body scanners bought by the European parliament at a cost of more than £500,000 to improve security at its headquarters in Brussels and Strasbourg have never been used because MEPs objected to the invasion of privacy. The scanners, which emit low-level x-rays to show images of people naked, have been mothballed in a basement for six years.
Yet MEPs have now asked the European commission to consider the use of body scanners at all airports across Europe. This could lead to passengers being compelled to undergo body imaging before being allowed to fly.
The revelation comes after a series of security breaches at the parliament in Brussels. Last month a French journalist smuggled in an imitation firearm during a visit by Prince Charles to highlight the lax security. There have also been three armed robberies within the confines of the parliament building, leading some MEPs to condemn the security system as a “farce”.
Nikki Sinclaire, MEP for the West Midlands, said: “MEPs put their own self-importance ahead of security in the parliament, with many refusing to undergo the simplest of security checks. Security is a great cause for concern.” The scanners — Rapiscan Secure 1000s — were bought in 2005 at a cost of 725,730 euros (£621,000).
The same model is being used at Manchester and Heathrow airports as well as about 70 others in the US. It works by peppering a passenger with very weak radiation in order to project an x-ray image of them on to a viewing screen. This depicts any concealed objects as well as showing intimate areas of the body.
At the time of their purchase, the European parliament was opposed to the use of body scanners in airports. In 2009 MEPs voted to sell the scanners it had bought. Despite slashing the asking price, no buyers have come forward.
The commission has been tasked with considering the use of body scanners. One option is to make them mandatory at all airports. Airports in the EU are now allowed to use the scanners only in an authorised trial of the equipment or in response to a higher threat risk.
Many MEPs still have reservations over the use of the scanners because of human rights issues and possible health risks. EU policy is expected to be decided by July this year.
A spokesman for the European parliament said: “The scanners were bought following September 11, 2001, when the parliament was looking at security measures. They were never intended to be used routinely.”

I have read the text of the article and this is not cobbled together footling over claims on expenses – this material far exceeds the ‘Expenses Scams at Westminster’ exposed by Heather Brooke.
Guy even states:
.
Hi Nikki,This is an updated version. (The other name on it, David Coverdale, works with me, and should be in Brussels for you to meet.)Added in more about your stance (will try to get a web link or similar in), and distanced you more from the allowances.I’ve updated the figures but we need to check the table. I’ve estimated the Parliamentary Assistance Allowance for now, but it’s closer.Let me know if you want me to forward to Greg, or if you can send on.My Editor is very keen on this, which is great for us.I will let you know my travel arrangements to Brussels a bit later, but we’re certainly going to give it another go.It will be same as before, but we’ll be arriving with photographers earlier on Thursday to prepare as best as possible.Hope all is good with you.Guy.By GUY BASNETT and DAVID COVERDALE
A BRITISH Euro-MP today opens her accounts to the News of the World to reveal how Brussels politicians are handed £2.6 MILLION a-TERM in salaries and expenses.Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire says lavish allowances and perks in the European Union have now hit up to Euros 599,817 (£518,814) a year for each and every MEP.It would add up to a staggering £2.6m each….. CUT
I wonder who and which newspaper will be happy to prostitute itself to such a level just for their own personal gain and to aid MEPs and their staff continue engorging themselves at the expense of The Tax Payers and in betrayal of these United kingdoms without ethics, without principle and without integrity JUST FOR THEIR OWN GAIN!
FROM THE PRESS COMPLAINTS COMMISSION:

One need only consider the efforts of those defending the EU and its corruption and the self serving corruption within UKIP to attack and defame this blog and me personally. The desperation of low lifes and liars like Mick McGough, Douglas Denny, Skeptyk, Mark Croucher, John Ison, Stuart Parr and others seeking crumbs from the table of The EU who have as yet never ONCE found me to have deliberately published a single dishonest fact nor even accidentally publish a consequential or material error which has needed correction – NEVER ONE ERROR of consequence deliberately posted to mislead but it does not stop UKIP’s seried ranks of liars corruptly defaming me.
It is interesting to note that now that the paper has published on line in full the excellent story, which I HAVE read and hold a copy of subject to last minute corrections (as last week), has fallen to the intervention of those protecting their positions at the troughs on the gravy train.
I do note due to the scurrilous nature of their claims and the fact that there is already a crime reference number in hand and that 10/1 of the PCC code pertained the clearly ‘Set Up’ story lacked any suitable credibility as an attack on Nikki Sinclaire – it is my opinion, based upon reliable whispers that it was largely Nigel Farage behind this seeking to protect against exposure of the 4000 account scam at a guess and worried that his route to riches might be damaged on the eve of his party mini conference where his adulants will be told how he can make yet more money by compliance with the EU in forming a Pan EU Political Party.
That Annabelle Fuller also colluded in the spoiler to aid The EU and corruption would also seem likely on information received but the primary source of what seems to have been stolen documents and fabricated evidence would seem to be John Ison yet again seeking to defame people for his own glorification and in the hope of ingratiating himself with UKIP’s corrupt leadership to fiddle his way into being an MEP whilst holding a salaried role in the interim.
This is not the first newspaper this scam has been tried on as you will remember the endless allegedlies in The Sunday Times when Jonathan Ungoed-Thomas made something of a fool of himself having failed to check his facts. At that stage Nikki Sinclaire opted to keep her powder dry until more evidence was to hand and third party witnesses were in place to testify.
The situation has somewhat changed I gather!
The tragedy is that in their greed and venal vitriol these sordid self serving Farage leadership filth have done much to wreck an incredibly good story exposing corruption of an industrial nature in the EU from being disseminated via the 7,000,000 claimed readers of the paper in question.
Just who are the Farage team actually working for as it does look very much as if it is for The EU and their own pockets yet again.
I regret 7,000,000 people are unlikely to see this item exposing The EU’s corruption just yet but be minded that I have the ear of numerous papers, a number of the opinion formers dip into this blog aware that they can quote EVERY item safe in the knowledge that in 1,000s of blogs I have NEVER made a material error and never once lied.
I believe that if the slime that have seized control of UKIP could make the same claim and had put in a fraction of the work exposing The EU during the last 18 years there would be every possibility we would now be liberated from The EU.
Many will seek more details and visit:

Hi,
sorry about the delay but I needed to check the pre release version with the online version – The pre release version was much better with a far fullers story, more MEPs mentioned and considerably more quotes from Sinclaire but having been bumped from last week due to a technicality I guess Guy was on weak ground to fight for the full 1,500 words!
At least this leaves him with enough for a double page spread adding in the future material already written.
EU cash snatchers
Tory and Labour MEPs in sneaky new exes ploy
SNEAKY British MEPs are claiming cash for a day’s work in Brussels before scuttling to the Eurostar minutes later and travelling HOME.We caught Tory Robert Sturdy and Labour’s Peter Skinner turning up at the Euro parliament at the crack of dawn to punch their card to grab £258 daily expenses.

The allowance from struggling taxpayers is supposed to cover the cost of them attending official business in Brussels. But our investigation found these grasping Euro MPs didn’t stick around.
Instead they jumped into a plush official car, with their suitcases in tow, and arrived at the Eurostar terminal less than 45 MINUTES later before heading back to Blighty.
And they’re not alone. Hordes of foreign MEPs are at it too.
This will outrage hard-working Brits who hand over £8.5BILLION a year to Europe – £137 per person – to pay for these pampered politicians. And it will be a huge embarrassment for Prime Minister David Cameron who in 2008 stepped in to clean up his party’s expenses system in Brussels.
He said at the time: “Just as I expect our MPs to adhere to the highest standards, so must MEPs. The taxpaying public have a right to know how their money is being spent and politicians have a duty to ensure it is spent properly.”
Disgusted West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire agreed to expose her fellow Euro politicians – who earn £80,955 a year NOT including expenses.![]()
Working with her, we filmed on Fridays in the parliament buildings of Brussels in Belgium and Strasbourg, France. We found members from all over Europe exploiting the signing-in system.
Greedy MEPs were QUEUEING outside the Attendance Office even before it opened at 7am.
Of the 160 Euro MPs we filmed signing in before 10am, more than a third – 54 – arrived with overnight bags and suitcases. At least 25 left parliament shortly after.
Of these, we caught nine arriving at the airport shortly after, ready to fly home, as well as our Brits on Eurostar.Ms Sinclaire, who runs campaigns from her website www.yourmep.org, said: “It’s a disgrace. On a Friday, when parliament is virtually closed, MEPs still sign in for their £258 and then head straight for the exit doors.“Many people don’t earn £258 a week, but some MEPs claim it for a day when they’re in for barely an hour. Taxpayers should know how their cash is being spent.”
In Brussels, East of England Euro MP Mr Sturdy, 66, signed for his daily expenses at just 7:18am. And balding South East MEP Mr Skinner, 51, was close behind his pal, signing in at 7.40am.![]()
The pair arrived at Brussels Midi station together at 8.04am, jumping out of a chauffeur-driven people carrier in good time for the 8.29am Eurostar. Two hours later we caught them at London’s St Pancras station.
The Brits were caught on camera two days ago, but on other days of filming we found a string of MEPs turning up early to claim their cash in Brussels.
It was still barely light on January 28 when Polish Euro MP Jolanta Hibner, 60, wheeled her suitcase into parliament to sign in at 7.58am. We pictured her at Brussels Airport just 22 minutes later, ready to fly home.
Another Polish MEP, Adam Gierek, 72, signed in at 8.01am with a colleague. We captured him stepping out of a chauffeur-driven car at the airport at 10:51am. Then Portuguese Euro MP Ilda Figueiredo 62, signed the register at 8:20am before being spotted at departures at 10:04am.
![]()
And Spanish MEP, purple-haired Eider Gardiazabal Rubial, 35, wheeled her suitcase to the Attendance Office at 9:56am, before being seen at the airport at 10:20am.
In Strasbourg, despite screens showing no official business on January 21, dozens of MEPs claimed expenses in the early hours.
We caught Polish Euro MP Danuta Jazlowiecka, 53, signing in at 9.21am, wheeling a suitcase. Then, at 9:42am – just 21 minutes later – she arrived at Strasbourg airport.
There are only 134 days of official parliamentary business – which does NOT include Fridays – in a year, worth £34,538 in daily allowances. By also signing in on the 37 Fridays, each MEP can trouser £9,537 extra.
![]()
Mr Sturdy said he worked late on Thursday night and that a power failure at King’s Cross would have made getting home difficult. He added: “I’m signing in because I’m doing my job. As vice chair of international trade I have a lot on at the moment.” He admitted he “often” signed in on Fridays.
Mr Skinner said: “It is often the case I will work six days on the trot, some of which will be spent in the constituency. My first duty is to represent people across the South-East which is sometimes best done face-to-face”
But EU rules state the allowance which they claimed is supposed to cover expenses like accommodation and meals incurred by attending official meetings away from their home country on the day signed for.
Ms Jazlowiecka’s aide told us: “It is not breaking rules to sign in and leave.” And Ms Figueiredo’s spokesman said it was up to parliament to determine what she could claim.

I have confirmed the text on line with Guy Basnett, which was as per my copy but the print version is expected to be a bit different!
