UKIP Do Little To Lead Britain OUT of The EU but Nikki Sinclaire seems to make up for all their self serving posturing now she is free of UKIP Leadership!

& of course association with UKIP’s extremist chums in The EFD!

.
Hi,

last week Nikki Sinclaire had a very busy week:

That seemed to be quite a busy week on its own but then it was back from Strasbourg to the constituency and sort out matters with the staff in the office and ensure that the promotion of the petition at CLICK HERE which is already standing at just under 7,000 signatures before the campaign has even begun.

Let us not forget that it was the petition that nikki Sinclaire devised, launched, promoted and funded that received Cross Party support and over 125,000 signatures which obtained a full debate in The House of Commons on a referendum on In/Out of The EU which led to a substantially larger revolt by honest MPs representing their electorate against the ambitions and bullying of the whips.

Then early on Friday it was off to Brize Norton (I presume) to fly to Afghanistan to see for herself what I consider to be the utter folly of Britain’s involvement there and the clear fact that our politicians haven’t a clue what they are doing or what is happening in the region or how to resolve the idiocy of our engagement.

Clearly the military leaders are so utterly self serving they have taken absolutely no steps that might endanger their careers to protect their men.

That the official visit is to the province of Helmand speaks volumes as we have failed spectacularly to achieve anything of value relative to even this small area out of all of Afghanistan where all that has been achieved is a dangerous debacle in a 500 year inter tribal civil war, currently exploited in the ongoing animosity between Pakistan & India.

The presence of politicianms may well give support to our troops on the ground but they are unlikely to see anything of consequence beyond that which upholds the idiotic posturings of British & American politicians and the self serving interests of the Military leaders in persuit of their pensions and subsequent contracts with defence suppliers as consultants and directors!

No doubt having returned Nikki Sinclaire will have made her own deductions as with her recent visit to Palestine!

Nikki in Afghanistan

PRESS RELEASE
West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire has just returned from a fact-finding visit to British Forces at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan.
As part of her role in the RAF Parliamentary Scheme, Nikki was briefed on Britain’s role within The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) by senior officers General Bucknell and Brigadier Patrick Sanders. She also took the opportunity to discuss conditions and operations with soldiers from across the West Midlands.

Discussions included ISAF’s role in reducing the capability and will of the insurgency, its support role in the growth in capacity and capability of the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and its long-term objective of facilitating improvements in governance and socio-economic development in order to provide a secure environment for sustainable stability and growth.

Nikki observed training exercises including the location and deactivation of mines and was shown a wide range of military hardware. The quality of our soldiers’ ‘kit’ has improved considerably in recent years with British soldiers now amongst the best equipped. Nikki also met with local Afghans who work in the Camp.

Despite casualties in recent days there has been a marked overall improvement, with insurgent attacks reduced by 24% in the past year.  The greatest difference lies in the social changes. Healthcare access for the local population has increased from 8% under the Taliban to 60% today. Infant mortality has been reduced by 20%. Access to education has substantially increased and, of course, now includes girls to whom the Taliban denied instruction. There are 13,000 more schools, 170,000 more teachers and 7.3 million more students.

Nikki said “These social changes have helped the Afghans to reject the Taliban who are still responsible for as many as 90% of civilian casualties. British forces within ISAF are creating trust, thus persuading locals that there is an alternative to the Taliban”

The 9,500 British forces in Afghanistan are soon to be reduced by 500 with a view to the bulk of forces leaving by the end of 2014.  Officers and soldiers alike are concerned that the Afghan infrastructure needs to be consolidated and that ‘a rush for the exit’ may undo a decade of hard work. Further creation and fostering of local governance are a priority. Investment is needed so that troop withdrawal will not be followed by recession.

Nikki said “Our servicemen and women are rightly proud of their achievements, but I understand their anxiety that those achievements, paid for ‘in blood and treasure’, should be wasted rather than consolidated.  There is a widespread feeling that, despite public support for the Armed forces, their role and their quiet but hugely significant contributions are not being fully understood by the British public.”

Servicemen and women took the opportunity to voice their frustration at the lack of co-operation they and their families receive from public authorities and public services. Schooling for their children, dental and doctor registration are also problems. It was also pointed out that local authorities make no provision in respect of Council Tax when service personnel are on active duty. A tour of duty lasts approximately six months. Quality of housing for their families is also an issue. Nikki will be taking up these cases with local councils to make sure the ‘Military Covenant’ is implemented without delay.

Reflecting on her visit Nikki said “I feel privileged to have been given this opportunity. My visit has given me a precious firsthand insight into the situation. Nothing prepares you for flying into Afghanistan on a C17 loaded with cargo, in pitch black wearing body armour – it dawns on you how perilous the situation can be and the debt that we owe to our brave men and women.”

Looking to the future, Nikki commented “We all want our forces home quickly, but we must appreciate their role, their achievements and their professional pride. They are making a difference. They want it to be a lasting difference.”

(ENDS)

Persona;;y I do not agree with Nikki Sinclaire’s apparent regurgitation of official propaganda in the statement:
‘…..There is a widespread feeling that, despite public support for the Armed forces, their role and their quiet but hugely significant contributions are not being fully understood by the British public’.

I believe there is a clarity of thought amongst informed people that supports the troops but repudiates the self serving position of senior military in failing to speak out in support of their men and doing absolutely nothing of value beyond exacerbating an already unethical and idiotic position where it is clear the involvement of these United Kingdoms is morally reprehensible and a study in political ignorance on the part of British politicians – what can only be described when the history is written as being as catastrophic as our obscene folly in involvement and our abject failure in Iraq!

Hi,
Be A Supporter OF AN EU REFERENDUM,

Defend Democracy
&
The Fundamental Human Right of Self Determination

Further to the success of this groups last petition that collected 100,000 signatures
which led to the debate in the House of Commons last week, The Campaign for
a Referendum (A cross party initiative) is launching another petition at
http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/20911

We must play the politicians at their own game!
When the French, Dutch and Irish voted No to the EU constitutional and
Lisbon Treaties, they were asked to vote again.
We must force our MPs to do the same.
There are loads of other petitions but they are too similar to the one
that was granted a debate so therefore will get rejected by
the committee responsible.

The wording of this petition has been approved with the committee.

It was the failure of other petitions and pledges
and the Express to establish the facts and the rules that meant they
had absolutely no input to ensuring the House of Commons debate
of the 24-Oct-2011.
It is also worth noting UKIP has totally failed its members previously
having failed to check the law or establish the facts with their previous
failed attempts at petitions.

The EU REFERENDUM CAMPAIGN have started a new petition,
it is worded differently so the EU can be re-debated
due to a clause in the programme for Government,
that the people will be able to table their own bill.

As occured in other European Counties
let’s keep having them vote until we get the ”right” result!!

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/20911

Our Prime Minister David Cameron talks about the ‘big society’
however when a large chunk of society is unhappy with the UK being part of the EU
he slaps us down.

Now more than ever we must keep up the pressure, we mustn’t let this campaign
fade away and fail like so many have done in the past.

Please make the effort and pass this on.

Please sign this petition and then forward it on to your email contacts.
If you have Facebook or Twitter please post it on your pages!

Parliamentary Patriots by Party who value Democracy!

These are the MPs who voted in favour of an EU Referendum in response to the overwhellming evidence that the peoples of these United Kingdoms want and will increasingly DEMAND a referendum on The EU!!

.

~~~~~~~~~~#########~~~~~~~~~~
.
Hi,
Further to The Hansard listing CLICK HERE of Patriots & Traitors:
Here is a list, by Party Membership, of MPs who voted for a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU, in the House of Commons debate on the matter of a referendum on The EU of the 24-Oct-2011.
We applaud all those who acquitted their duty to represent the interests of the electorate who by a margin of over 70% want to excercise their fundamental human right of self determination.
It was good to see those Tories, Labour and LibDim MPs who had the courage to defy their clearly failed leaders Cameron, Clegg and Milliband after their disgraceful attempt to gag democracy by imposing three line whips on them.
The contempt for the peoples of these United Kingdoms as represented by Cameron, Clegg and Milliband is clear for all to see yet they have the obscene hubris & arrogance to talk about restoring democracy to Libya, by aiding in the slaughter, rapes & torture of many of the peoples of Libya in a clearly fabricated uprising against probably THE most stable regime in all of Africa led by a tribal war lord who welded together the most literate, best educated, home owning, car owning wealthiest peoples of Africa. A leader who within the context of Africa stands out as a beacon of success with his provision of Africa’s best health service and best welfare system. A man who has brought the flowering of the desert to be a close reality with the provision of huge amounts of fresh water as an immediate probability.
So how about repatriating democracy to Britain by allowing the people a real say in how and by whom OUR COUNTRY is governed?
It seems at present the majority of politicians at Westminster vote in their own personal interest in complete disregard for these United Kingdoms, jobs, infrastructure, democracy, trade and sovereign independence for which our ancestors and many still alive have given or risked their lives.
We all owe a debt of gratitude to Nikki Sinclaire, the Independent MEP who put together the team that obtained the 100,000 signatures required to ensure this debate & on the very day of the debate she delivered another 25,000 signatures to Drowning Street – The fight will continue!
L-R Trevor Colman MEP, Mike Nattrass MEP, Kelvin Hopkins MP,
Nikki Sinclaire MEP,
Rt. Hon Nigel Dodds MP, Kate Hoey MP,
Maggie Inglis, Josh O’Nyons, and a Kate Hoey staff member
Let us hope that the MPs & MEPs have the democratic good sense to be in Downing Street in support of Nikki Sinclaire TODAY of all days as she and supporters deliver another 20,000 signatures+ to Downing Street and the debate follows at Westminster.
I submit we will be able to ascertain with one hundred percent accuracy which MPs & MEPs 1are there to represent the best interests of these United Kingdoms and its peoples and their own constituents and which were absent – more interested in representing their personal interests by not campaigning to ensure the peoples of Britain receive the fundamental human right of self determination.
There will of course be many self interested politicians only interested in themselves and trying to seek personal glory but today was the achievement of Nikki Sinclaire and Nikki Sinclaire alone with the team she put together and the example she has set other MEPs and MPs.
This is the first very momentous step in a very hard battle for freedom and our greatest enemies will be, as ever, Continental EUrope and our own Enemy Within – politicians, Snivil Cervants and petty fogging self important parasites and hangers on seeking self enrichment and self agrandisement by selling our the peoples of Britain to foreign and VERY ALIEN rule.
Good Luck and thank you to everyone who has supported Nikki Sinclaire on this momentous day – YES of cvourse we know this first step will be thwarted and the people betrayed in every way self serving and corrupt politicians and their parasites know how.
We will publish, as a permanent record, the list of SHAME & GLORY
showing how every MP voted as soon as feasible!
THE EU Commons Debate: Nikki Sinclaire Press Release
The Independent MEP Nikki  Sinclaire with supporting MP’s will be in Downing Street at 10.30am delivering the remainder of petition forms to the Prime Minister.
The Campaign vehicle largely responsible will be located fro 11am to 7pm at Old Palace Yard opposite the Houses of Parliament.
PRESS RELEASE
Sunday 23rd October 2011
‘GUARDIAN’ OF 100,000 PETITION THAT INSTIGATED THE DEBATE ON EU REFERENUM SLAMS MAIN POLITICAL PARTIES
The founder and coordinator of the 100,000 petition handed in to Downing street last month triggering off the process that has given the debate has criticized the main political parties for treating the petitioners and the electorate with contempt.
Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire set up the cross party initiative ‘Campaign for a Referendum’ to give a say to the ordinary people sick and tired of the constant arguing on Brittan’s membership of the EU. The Campaign has been supported by many MPs from across the political spectrum.
Ms Sinclaire feels a strong responsibility for those who signed the petition saying “We submitted 100,000 voices to Downing Street and as the ‘Guardian’ of those people I feel the need to speak up for them”
The majority of the signatures were collected by Ms Sinclaire’s campaign bus that went town to town, city to city and canvassed huge support.
Ms Sinclaire says “The signatures were given in good faith by people who wanted to establish for once and for all the UK’s membership of the EU. We would have stuck by the verdict of the people, but the politicians don’t trust democracy any more. They won’t allow us to have our say. We’ve forced them to have the debate, but they have imposed whips. This shows complete contempt for the people who gave them their positions.”
Nikki is urging all MP’s of whatever political persuasion to defy the whips and vote for what the people who put them into power want.
Recent YouGov polls show an overwhelming majority of the electorate want a referendum with 52% would vote to leave and only 30% would vote to remain in the EU
Nikki, an independent MEP, added: “Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project. This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum”
Ms Sinclaire will deliver the remainder of the petition forms to Downing Street tomorrow morning at 10.30 am with supporting MPs making the total submitted in excess of 120,000
Ends
Note to Editors.
The Campaign website is http://www.haveyoursay.eu
The Campaign vehicle that collected the signatures will be situated to Old palace yard opposite the Houses of Parliament from 11am to 7pm tomorrow Monday 24th October
NIKKI SINCLAIRE and supporters will be on College Green, Westminster on Monday, 24th October. NIKKI is available for interview on 23rd, 24th and 25th.
~Nikki Sinclaire + Petition = Referendum Debate at Westminster!
The Next step will be Westminster betraying the wishes of the electorate and the best interests of these United Kingdoms and our peoples!
This is only the beginning of the end of Britain’s unfortunate and unlawfull membership of The Failing EU – There is a great deal of work on the many steps ahead!
.
~~~~~~~~~~#########~~~~~~~~~~
.
Hi,

well we have the clarity of Nikki Sinclaire’s press release on the subject of HER Petition which has gained a debate in The House of Commons – just a crack in the ice and I do congratulate her for the achievement of over 120,000 signatures so far and growing and also for obtaining cross party support.

Here is her Press Release and then let us consider som e of the ramifications of the even she has driven forward to so hugely influience Westminster and highlight the fact that the peoples of these United Kingdoms by a majority, or so her recent You Gov poll sjhows would vote to leave The EU with a simple majority of 52% voting to leave and only 30% voting to stay!

More convincingly we note that 66% of Tory voters would vote to leave and 74% of Tory voters want an In/Out EU Referendum!

Press Release – House of Commons to debate British membership of the EU

The historic House of Commons debate on if the UK should be allowed a referendum on whether to pull out of the European Union is set to take place next week on Thursday the 27th of October 2011 from mid-day onwards in the main chamber. This follows the presentation to Downing Street of a petition calling for a referendum.

If MPs vote in favour of a referendum, David Cameron will come under huge pressure to offer the British public a chance to say for once and for all if they want to withdraw from the EU.

The Commons Backbench Business Committee met this afternoon to set the date. Nikki Sinclaire MEP who instigated and then delivered, along with a broad cross-party delegation of MPs and MEPs, the petition of over 120,000 signatures to No 10 Downing Street said “This is a victory for democracy, and for the common man whose voice has been ignored for too long. It has been a long haul, but gathering these signatures has been a great experience, and my thanks go out to all those people who worked so tirelessly to make this happen”.

The motion that has been submitted for debate is:

This House calls upon the Government to introduce a Bill in the next session of Parliament to provide for the holding of a national referendum on whether the United Kingdom

(a) should remain a member of the European Union
(b) leave the European Union
(c) re-negotiate the terms of its membership in order to create a new relationship based on trade and co-operation.

Nikki Sinclaire has vowed to keep the pressure on David Cameron and his government. “The signatures keep coming in” she said today, “and next Thursday we will be back at the door of 10 Downing Street with even more. The people are speaking out now, the government must listen.”

Sinclaire’s performance throughout has been professional and dedicated but be minded she has continued on multiple fronts to ensure she has provided the service and services her5 constituents nexpect bof her. She has supported the people opposing the illegal settlement of ‘so called’ travellers whilst campaigning for and obtaining the repatriation of a constituent in hospital after a serious accident in Greece and much more with frequent consequential input in The EU’s pretend parliament and participating in ajudication in Tunisia’s democratic dawn.

Probably the greatest displkay of professionalism has been her complete indifference as to who gets the plaudits for the petition she organised and delivered to Parliament – The aim is to work towards winning Britain’s liberty from The EU – leaving the self seekers and the guilty inadequates to try to claim the glory and win the medals.

When all is said and done it is clear that some in UKIP Leadership have ntaken every step they could to thwart and denigrate her efforts with petty jealousies and foolish lies displaying their inadequacies. Let’s leave the fools to posture and try to sieze her achievement as if they had some part in it.

One only needs to note the obvious panic on the part of the Government – such that they plan on a 3 line whip to crush democracy and have brought the date forward in fear of extensive lobbying being organised and to ensure that the biggest traitors in Britain can be in Parliament to issue their abuse of the electorate by FORCING opposition to the concept of the peoples of Britain leaving The EU’s malign and failing project.

Unable to risk a free vote we know the result will be rigged but that we have managed to bring this project to a head and using Parliament’s own suggestion have not just convinced several papers to support a Referendum but given rise to 3 other petitions following in Sinclaire’s footsteps and even the Government hosting a 4th. petition on its web site.

Newsnight earlier this evening showed just how great The Government panic is wioth Macmillan scott clearly telling lies about the petition to try to save face trying to claim a newspaper was behind it which is patently untrue as he knows and seeking to attribute it to UKIP which would clearly have debased its value – in view of their association with extremists, racists and violent xenophobes.

I see no likelihood of this debate leading to a referendum as the Government is foolish enough to cheat the public and nthe wishes of the public but the great benefit of this is that it is another exposure of the venal corruption of our politicians and their determination to serve their own interests – be it fiddling expenses, rigging debates and elections or paying their ‘close’ chums out of the public purse.

The EU project has clearly failed and it is now only supported by those it directly funds with money stolen from the majority. NO POLITICIAN has ever shown a clear benefit for Britain in membership – even Edward Heath had to lie to the public to dupe them into supporting an unlawfull referendum to ratify The Treaty of Rome.

NEVER have the peoples of Britain legitimately voted to be in or support membership of The EU and building this scam on a pack of lies and a raft of corruption is clearly coming home to roost – The Sinclaire Petition and the debate is a small step for a British Patriot but a giant leap for British Patriotism and liberty!

It matters not a jot who gets the medals it is all important that this debate goes ahead as yet another step that has to be made to Leave-the-EU.

If UKIP had built a reputation of integrity, probity, transparency and ethical behaviour this referendum might well have succeeded but due to the damage they have done this debate is just one of the essential steps forward towards Britain’s Liberty.

Well done Nikki Sinclaire and her collaborators and supporters. It is clear she has managed to do more since she was dishonestly removed as a UKIP MEP than EVERY UKIP member of the UKIP Leadership and its parasites enriching themselves at the expense of the genuine members over almost 20 years.

Every journey starts with a single step and obtaining this debate is a massive leap forwards!

Now the hard work begins and let us hope Nikki Sinclaire has the energy and can get the needed financial support to take the battle forward – I hope YOU will lend YOUR support as a patriot.

CUT unrelated to Referendum Debate on EU Membership
& the petition for an In/Out Referendum of 100,000+ signatures
Collected by & Delivered to Parliament vi Drowning Street
By: Indipendent MEP Nikki Sinclaire & her Team & Cross Party supporters
~~~~~~~~~~
Q12 Chair: Thank you.
I understand that you are here to make a bid for time on a paper petition.
Mr Nuttall: Yes, that is correct. It is a hybrid e-petition in that, I understand, more than 80,000 of the names were collected in the more traditional paper form and 20,000 were collected electronically through what might be termed an e-petition. I trust that the Committee would not wish to discriminate against it simply because some of the names were collected through a more traditional route.
Nevertheless, as you will be aware, last Thursday a petition containing in excess of 100,000 names was submitted to call for a referendum on whether we remain a member of the European Union. I suggest that that matter is of enormous national interest. The country has not had the opportunity to vote on that for some 36 years. Many millions of people outside the House and many Members, including me, were not able to vote in that referendum and would like an opportunity to be able to influence the debate on our continued relationship with Europe.
On support for the debate, the petition was handed in by members of the Conservative and Labour parties, and by members from other parties. My hon. Friend the Member for Strangford is with me today. He is a DUP Member, and he supports the bid. On the other side of the argument, the Government are opposed to holding a referendum. To that extent, this is perfect Back Bench business, because there are clearly two sides to the argument.
In view of the national importance of the subject, I ask that it be granted a one-day debate. As you will be aware, I sit through business questions on Thursdays and am acutely aware of the intense pressures on business time. As a member of the Procedure Committee, I know only too well the competing pressures for time in the House, but I feel that this is a matter that would generate enormous national attention. As with other debates that your Committee has sanctioned in the past, the national media would focus on the Chamber to see the outcome of the debate. It would be quite feasible to draft a votable motion calling on the Government to introduce legislation to provide for the holding of a referendum on our continued membership of the European Union.
Q13 Jane Ellison: I have a quick question to get some clarification. Do you see that, although you are bidding for a debate on having a referendum, such a debate would essentially be a proxy debate for in/out? What you said about there being a lot of interest would definitely be true if the House debated the whole in/out thing, but it would only be true of a debate on having a referendum if the debate were essentially a proxy for an in/out debate.
Mr Nuttall: There would be a debate on the nature of the referendum question, which is the crucial issue in many ways. It does not necessarily have to be an in/out referendum. In many ways, I think it should be a question of in or EFTA-the European Free Trade Association. That is what many people thought they were signing up for when they voted, nearly four decades ago, to join the EEC-the European Economic Community-as it was in those days. It has grown and developed since then.
Q14 Mr Bone: The Committee is looking for something that, first of all, neither Front Bench particularly wants to debate. There are different views within the political parties, so you would want Conservative Members arguing both ways and Labour and other parties arguing both ways, This motion is not about the issue of whether we should be in or out; it is about whether there should be a referendum, isn’t it?
Mr Nuttall: Yes.
Q15 Mr Bone: So I suppose all those boxes are ticked.
Mr Nuttall: Yes. My view is that opposition will come from those people who do not think that we should have a referendum because they want to stay in. My argument is that in a referendum they would be able to vote to stay in. As I mentioned earlier, the Government’s view is that there is no need for a referendum because of the referendum back in the 1970s.
Q16 Mr Bone: There will also be people who support a referendum because they want to stay in.
Mr Nuttall: Yes, there are. Coincidentally, and rather strangely, on the way here I met the Chairman of the Select Committee on Home Affairs. He supports having a referendum, but he is quite open that he would vote to stay in the European Union.
Q17 John Hemming: A lot of people came out in support of the previous one. We know that you are not isolated, but do you have the number of Members who have signed up to support your application?
Mr Nuttall: Yes. Last Thursday, a number of Members of Parliament from different parties supported the submission of the petition. I am sure that my hon. Friend the Member for Stone could fill a whole day on his own. [Laughter.]
Q18 John Hemming: I know he could fill a whole day, but formal written support for the application is the issue. People need to sign up to say that they would like to have the debate.
Jim Shannon: I just wanted to add my support. Questions have been asked about the support both for and against. Obviously, from my own party’s point of view, we would be very keen to see a referendum. I am also aware that MPs who represent other areas in Northern Ireland are perhaps in a different camp. Therefore, that would provide the energy for a debate. There is a difference of opinion among the MPs who represent Northern Ireland. At the same time, we have a strong lobby of constituents who have indicated that they want to see a referendum; they want to see the debate. Where better to have a debate than in the mother of Parliaments where the democratic expression can be made and the people can contribute? I feel that that opportunity is one our constituents would like to see happen.
Q19 Chair: One of the key things that we look at is topicality. Why is it that we need to have this debate now? Although your petition gives a hook to hang it on, we normally require a list of signatures of supporting cross-party Members and a votable motion. Is there a massive urgency to have this debate immediately? We have two slots of time when we get back in October, but as you saw earlier there are huge demands on that time. Is there an enormous urgency or is this something that we can work on for longer?
Mr Nuttall: I think that the many millions of people who are concerned about this issue would just be glad to see it somewhere on the agenda. There has been a Procedure Committee report sat on the Order Paper for months, but at least it is in the queue and members of that Committee are happy that it is in the queue. We know that one day it will appear. If this was in the queue, it is better than it never being in the queue. Part of the problem with the European issue is that because it has been going on for 30 or 40 years-in the same way as the previous submission with regard to the Hillsborough disaster-there is always an issue that will be a volcano today rather than something that plods along. To that extent, there is always something that is of more immediate consequence. The essence of this bid is the fact that there are 100,000 plus signatures on a petition-not the new-fangled e-petition scheme-who are calling for this matter to be debated. To that extent, there is some flexibility for it to be fitted into the agenda. It is a question of getting it in the list or in the queue.
Q20 Chair: Did you want to add something?
Jim Shannon: Europe is very relevant to us all, especially to my constituents. Certainly, the opportunity to have a debate on the European referendum would be something that they wish to see. I feel it is opportune and immediate. Hopefully, the opportunity to have a debate will be given to us.
Q21 Chair: Thank you. As we said to the last group, we will make a decision straight after this meeting, so we will let people know this afternoon.
To view the full Back Bench Business Committee meeting CLICK HERE
Later that afternoon the Back Bench Committee announced its schedule for October:
The Backbench Business Committee has scheduled the following debates to take place in backbench time:
  • Thursday 13 October in the Chamber: A debate on three reports from the Procedure Committee followed by a general debate on High Speed Two.
  • Thursday 13 October in Westminster Hall: A debate on responses to the riots in August, including the issue of sanctions for those involved, which has been raised in an e-petition
  • Monday 17 October in the Chamber: A debate on the disclosure of documents to the Hillsborough Independent Panel. This issue has also been raised in an e-petition.
To view this decision CLICK HERE
We understand that although subject to revision a full Debate on the Nikki Sinclaire MEP’s petition for an In/Out EU Referendum as presented with the approval and verification of Sir George Younger and presented at committee by the Tory MP for Bury North David Nuttall MP – The only petition of its ilk and definitively the only 100,000+ signatures as presented to Parliament and approved by Sir George Younger Leader of The House of Commons and Lord Privy Seal.
We are led to believe by both politiciamns and also the media that there is likely to be a debate before Christmas on the issue.
Sadly I believe that the majority of Politicians will do all they can to block a referendum as they know instinctively and also from various polls that the British people in a free and fair In/Out EU Referendum will on an informed basis vote massively in favour of leaving the EU.
I note that David Nuttall MP’s web site contained the following entry:
Time we all had a say
It is over 36 years since we, the British public, had a say on what we think of our relationship with our European neighbours. Back in 1975 there was a referendum on whether or not we stayed in what was then referred to as ‘The Common Market’ the European Economic Community the E.E.C. Since then the nature of the organisation which the British people voted to remain part of has changed beyond all recognition. Firstly, the word ‘Economic’ was dropped and we became members of the European Community. Then, we became members of the European Union. All without any consultation of the British people.
It is now time we all had our say!
To which I responded:
 Hi,
sadly The Heath Referendum was without any shadow of doubt utterly corrupt or we would never have become a vassal of the supra national EU.
Let us not forget that Enoch Powell warned of exactly the outcome we now suffer in his speech of February 1970 which you can read at:
http://themidnightgroup.blogspot.com/2011/01/25-feb-1970-dont-say-you-were-not.html
It is also a metter of public record that Ted Heath admitted he had lied to Parliament and the peoples of Britain as he believed had he told the truth the people would have voted against Ratification of his signature to The Treaty of Rome – Too Damned Right We Would Have.
The You Gov poll commissioned by Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire showed clearly that:
70%+ Tory Voters want an In/Our EU Referendum
66% of Tory Voters would vote to Leave-The-EU
52% of all voters would vote to Leave-The-EU
30% only of all voters would vote to remain in The EU.
Rather more conclusive percentages than were even obtained by Heath’s lies and a massive pro campaign and funding which by dishonesty won would now democratically vote against.
We do know based on The EU track record of corruption and the EUroPhile proppensity for lies that huge funding and man power would pour in to try to keep us in The EU.
It is far far better to die on ones feet that live on ones knees slowly being nibbled to death by ducks as the EU salami slices our freedom, ratchets ever tighter the barbed wire circle of stars and erradicates the fundamental human right of self determination.
We were lied to inorder to dupe us into joining and they continue to lie at every stage.
We deserve an HONEST & FAIR Referendum or the divisions & discontent will rage for the next 40 years – save only when the EU collapses as it surely will.
We need to restore our democracy, sovereignty, borders and judiciary in good order before that collapse already our association with The EU is damaging our economy possibly irreprably.
Please help ensure we regain our liberty and the freedom to manoveur in order to survive in an increasingly competitive world not merely as also rans to be fed into the maw of the failing behemoth.
Regards,
Greg_L-W.
At long last, but do we have the spine for it?
I do hope so.
This email just in from the Campaign for a Referendum….
    MPs to Vote on EU Referendum before Christmas
    A historic vote on growing demands for Britain to leave the European Union will be held in the Commons before Christmas.MPs will debate whether the Government should give voters a chance to decide the issue once and for all in a referendum. It will be the first time Parliament has held a major vote on seeking the public’s view since the 1975 referendum confirming the decision to join the Common Market.
    If MPs vote in favour of  a referendum, the result would not be binding on the Government.
    But, combined with growing public opposition to the increasing power of the EU, it would put enormous pressure on David Cameron to let the people decide the country’s European fate. The Commons vote has been forced on MPs – and a reluctant Prime Minister .The decision to hold a debate was made after a petition, signed by more than 100,000 people demanding a referendum, was delivered to No10 Downing Street by a cross party group of MPS and MEPS led by Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire.
    Nikki Sinclaire, who organised the petition, said: “This is an argument that has been going on far too long. We must have a referendum, and the Government must abide by the result.”
    That Committee has now promised to grant a one-day debate on a referendum after Parliament returns next week.The debate will then be held before the end of the year.  According to a recent You Gov poll commissioned by us If there was a vote, a massive 52% would vote to leave, with only 30% preferring to stay in and 15%  undecided and 4% not bothering to vote
    Withdrawing from the EU has support at the highest level of the party, including from Mr Cameron’s senior No 10 adviser, Steve Hilton.The Commons vote is a nightmare for the Coalition. Mr Cameron was heavily criticised in Opposition for going back on a pledge to hold a referendum on the 2007 Lisbon Treaty which continued the process of switching sovereignty to the EU.
    He fears a referendum would be a distraction from his attempts to solve Britain’s economic problems. But he will face a mass revolt if he orders Tory MPs to vote against it. The Government has suffered three defeats as a result of debates ordered by the Backbench Business Committee, including rejecting a European bid to give prisoners the vote
     How you can Help!
    The date of the debate and vote have not yet been set, but in the mean time we are asking as many of you to email your MPs. Which you can do so through this website http://www.writetothem.com/ To ask them which way they will vote ? also whether they would  support a referendum on our EU membership ?
    Remember If you have a Liberal Democrat MP that at the last General Election their party promised to support a in or out referendum on our EU membership in their 2010 Manifesto, also A sizeable number of Labour MPs also want a referendum to split the coalition!
    We are then asking you to forward any replies that you receive back to us at eureferednumcampaign@gmail.com
    Once again,we’d like to thank you for all your efforts so far, and please don’t forget we are still collecting signatures.
If you require more petiton forms please call 0800 157 7916
    Kind Regards,
    Campaign for an EU REFEREDNUM Team
Now, after years of campaigning, writing countless emails, blog posts, Facebook updates, tweets and newspaper comments, boring our friends to distraction and grinding our teeth at the sheer insanity of it all, the goal is finally in sight, the day we vote to take our island back from the faceless apparatchiks of the EUSSR; now, the real work begins.
This is a once in a lifetime chance. Let’s not blow it.
Here is my response!
.
Grassroot supporters of EUKIP are beginning to see the wool has been drawn over there eyes.
In their own words, EUKIP is no more than a vehicle to further the agende of a small group.
They are NOT going to get us out of the €U.
There’s only one party in the UK that will give you a ONE-WAY ticket out of the €U.
That’s the Communist Party of Britain.
UKIP voters often say that they have no party loyalty, and that they will only vote for the party that withdrwaws the UK from the €U.
Now is the time for these people to puyt their vote where their money is.
And vote communist.
Hi,
I seem to remember penning the article you quoted some time ago – sadly it is as true now as it was then.
We have TRIED to link as much as possible to help YOU discover & Verify THE FACTS for yourself.
All we can do is provide access to the documents and Facts – also highlight EVIDENCE brought to our attention by a network of UKIP Supporters, who desperately want to see the Party CLEANED-UP, by having corrupt & untrustworthy self seeking parasites like Douglas Denny, Mick McGough, Marta Andreasen, David Bannerman, Mark Croucher, Gawain Towler, Stuart Agnew, Annabell Fuller and similar damaging individuals removed from befouling UKIP.
UKIP CAN NOT expect to be electable to a British Public for as long as it keeps liars, cheats and parasites on its staff and management and associates and supports racist, xenophobes, anti Jewish & violent anti homosexual ‘chums’ in The UKIP EFD Group – Currently taking a further lurch to extremism to maintain its numbers, by courting extremist Austrian politicians – hence less than 30 seats out of 19,500 available in Britain are UKIP seats – after 18 years!
What is and where can ANYONE find UKIP’s Vision, Strategy, Tactics?
After 18 Years UKIP has zero Exit & Survival Strategy for these United Kingdoms.
UKIP seemingly seeks only personal gain for a small claque, forgetting to educate the peoples how Britain will be Better Off Out – We all know what is BAD about The EU and endless as it is why not act like Patriots & explain what is BETTER OUT!
It is however worth noting that although Nigel Farage and UKIP Leadership and their parasites did all they could to denigrate and defame Nikki Sinclaire and her efforts to obtain a petition of 100,000 signatures required to hold a debate and vote in Parliament on an In/Out EU Referendum and did not even sign it – Nikki Sinclaire has done something the whole of UKIP has failed to do in 20 years – SHE DELIVERED!
We are now to have a debate & vote in Parliament – Well done Nikki Sinclaire and her team who have now obtained 120,000 signatures and obtained the help of the Parliamentary Committee.
She has obtained more valid signatures than Jon Gaunt and his pledge which has now lost its key members PLUS the Judas Goats of the Dan Hannan, Roger Helmer, Mark Glendenning, Bob Crow break away Pledge petition, PLUS UKIP PLUS The Daily Express.
We note they are all so embarrassed that the media are failing to attribute the 100,000 signatures delivered to Drowning Street
I also note the complete absence of the ever mouthy BNP though they did start a petition of their own, presumably to get more members! Just as did UKIP when they purloined £14Million from the public purse ostensibly for a petition which never took place – presumably they just pocketed the money!
The Communist Party likewise was absent and surely most people have learned what misery the Communist Party has seen with some 40Million subjects of Communism slaughtered in China and around 30-40Million killed in the USSR – how can anyone present a suggestion of Communism save its parasites like Cathy Ashton, Patricia Hewitt, Tony Blair, Jack straw and their fellow travellers in CND.
We have seen the evils that Communism bring as with the Mauist Communist Jose Manuel Barroso and the evils of The EU as it fails its victims and destroys liberty and self respect across EUrope as it threatens the entire global economy with its crass, dithering and gross incompetence spurred on by its corrupt dishonesty and indifference for the suffering it brings as we now see Greece destroyed!
To leap from the servitude in The EU to the evils of Communism is no option.
Regards,
Greg_L-W.
Congratulations to Nikki Sinclaire and the team she pulled together
Hi,
so the discussions with The leaders of The House of Commons have paid off and unlike the Judas Goats with their endless posturing and pretend petitions and pretence at EUroScepticism and the 120 Tory MPs who have followed the whip’s requirements in setting up a EUroPlasticSceptic Group Nikki SINCLAIRE Independent MEP has actually delivered the required 100,000 signatures with another 20,000 ready to deliver as her campaign continues to grow.
Frankly Westminster debating the issue makes the point – we know that Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas any more than we can expect the MPs to represent either our wishes or our best interests and Leave-The-EU.
Frankly our MPs are so totally discreditted who gives a stuff how they vote – The EU may think it will be making the decisions but do not forget it was on October 01st. 1946 that the first GUILTY verdicts and the hanging of 11 Guilty Men was ordered at The Nuremberg Trials – Politicians don’t call the shots when it comes to war and we are teetering on the start of The Wars of Dissassociation be it the Riots in Greece, the Default of The Greek Government, the failing of the Portuguese, Italian, Irish, Greek, Spanish and shortly the Cypriot economies that will win this argument.
The wheels are falling off of the EU scam.
Let us see if our politicians want to hang onto their jobs and Leave-The-EU or hang on lamp posts as the lights go out!
Their vote in Westminster is no longer relevant they gave away their authority so their debate is pointless – as pointless as they are.
76% of Tory voters want a Referendum, 66% of Tory voters would vote to Leave-The-EU when given their vote and only 30% of the entire population would vote to stay in The EU.
A measure of the accuracy of The Media is that for all the huff and puff from The LibDims & Tories it was a single INDEPENDENT MEP Nikki Sinclaire with the support of not a single Tory or Liberal delivering to Drowning Street the 100,000 signatures so far as the photographs clearly show:
It was Nikki Sinclaire’s advertising vans all over Britain getting the signatures:
At last: We get vote on Europe as MPs are forced to decide on referendum
  • Vote will be held in the Commons before Christmas
  • Eurozone crisis has led to surge in anti-Brussels feeling
Last updated at 11:19 PM on 1st October 2011
A historic vote on growing demands for Britain to leave the European Union will be held in the Commons before Christmas.
MPs will debate whether the Government should give voters a chance to decide the issue once and for all in a referendum.
It will be the first time Parliament has held a major vote on seeking the public’s view since the 1975 referendum confirming the decision to join the Common Market.
If MPs vote in favour of  a referendum, the result would not be binding on the Government.
But, combined with growing public opposition to the increasing power of the EU, it would put enormous pressure on David Cameron to let the people decide the country’s European fate.
The Commons vote has been forced on MPs – and a reluctant Prime Minister –  by public demand, after the crisis in the eurozone, with desperate attempts to prop up the Greek economy, led to a surge in anti-Brussels feeling.
The decision to hold a debate was made after a petition signed by more than 100,000 people demanding a referendum was submitted to a new group of MPs given the job of making sure Parliament does not sweep controversial issues under the carpet.
The Mail on Sunday has learnt that the Commons Backbench Business Committee will agree to grant a one-day debate on a referendum after Parliament returns next week.
Committee chairman Natascha Engel, a Labour MP, said: ‘Given the crisis in the eurozone, this issue has become more relevant than ever. There is a clear majority of backbench MPs who want to debate this and we have to respond to that.
‘The EU today is completely different from the one the British people voted to join in the 1975  referendum.  It is time to examine the position again. For years it has suited successive governments to avoid debating whether Britain should stay in or leave the EU.
‘The whole purpose of my committee is to make sure the big issues of the day are aired in Parliament. People in pubs and shops all over Britain are discussing our membership of the EU and it is time MPs openly debated it too.’
The debate will be held before the end of the year.
Anti-European campaigners are divided over the question that should be put in a referendum. Some want a simple ‘in or out’ question. But others want to offer the choice of going back to an old- style trading association, along the lines of the Common Market which British voters agreed to in 1975.
If the nation voted ‘yes’ to this proposition, the Government could demand that key powers over immigration, industrial relations, health and safety, City regulations and other issues are handed back to Westminster. If the EU refused to do so, Britain could leave altogether.
Recent opinion polls show that when asked directly, nearly one in two people want Britain to come out of the EU, with about one in three in favour of staying in. But when the question was rephrased to give the choice of returning to a Seventies-style trade association, a clear majority chose that option.
Tory MPs plan to use this week’s party conference in Manchester to step up their demand for a referendum.
Withdrawing from the EU has support at the highest level of the party, including from Mr Cameron’s senior No 10 adviser, Steve Hilton.
The Commons vote is a nightmare for the Coalition. Mr Cameron was heavily criticised in Opposition for going back on a pledge to hold a referendum on the 2007 Lisbon Treaty which continued the process of switching sovereignty to the EU.
He fears a referendum would be a distraction from his attempts to solve Britain’s economic problems.
But he will face a mass revolt if he orders Tory MPs to vote against it.
Although Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is an avowed Europhile, he made an Election pledge to hold an ‘in or out’ EU referendum.
It was seen as a crude Lib Dem ploy to prove that whatever their reservations about the EU, most Britons want to stay in. But with hostility to the EU growing by the day, Mr Clegg may now be hoist with his own petard. A sizeable number of Labour MPs also want a referendum.
The historic Commons debate is set to be agreed after Tory MP David Nuttall approached the Backbench Business Committee on the strength of the petition.
The Bury MP said he would defy any attempt by Mr Cameron to silence him. ‘I will vote in favour of a referendum come what may. It is about whether we stay in the EU and it is time the people had their say.’
Fellow Eurosceptic Tory MP Peter Bone said: ‘This poses an almighty dilemma for Mr Cameron. He will face huge problems if he orders MPs to vote against it.’
Since Britain joined the Common Market, there have been a series of Commons votes on whether there should be referendums on EU treaties such as Maastricht and Lisbon – although none at all on whether we should remain in the EU. All have been defeated, largely down to Governments ordering MPs to vote them down.
The Government has suffered three  defeats as a result of debates ordered by the Backbench Business Committee. They were forced to pay compensation to victims of a contaminated blood scandal; to reject a European bid to give prisoners the vote; and to ban wild animals in circuses without delay.
Cameron urged to call EU referendum
David Cameron faces more pressure for an “in-out” referendum on Europe as a 100,000-name petition is delivered.
A cross-party delegation of MPs and MEPs is due to hand in sacks full of signatures at 10 Downing Street.
The number demanding a referendum is enough to trigger a parliamentary debate on the issue – potentially highly awkward for the Prime Minister. Mr Cameron again insisted that there was “no case” for a national poll on EU membership.
“I want us to be influential in Europe about the things that matter to our national interest – promoting the single market, pushing forward for growth, making sure we get lower energy prices,” he told MPs.
“Those are things we will be fighting for but I don’t see the case for an in out referendum on Europe.
“We are in Europe, we have got to make it work for us.”
Under a new e-petition scheme set up by the Government, any suggestion that receives more than 100,000 signatures online is passed to parliament’s backbench business committee so a debate can be organised.
However, Commons leader Sir George Young has apparently assured the Europe campaigners that traditional pen-and-ink versions will be treated the same.
Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire is due to be accompanied by Labour MPs Kelvin Hopkins, Austin Mitchell and Kate Hoey to hand in the petition.
“This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU,” she said.
