Nightmare For Drowning Street!
31 October 2011
CAMERON’S HALLOWEEN EU NIGHTMARE RECURS – THIS TIME WITH TEETH
They exorcised it with three-line whips last week. They drove a derisive stake through its heart, murmured the ancient incantation, ‘Calm down, dears’ and thought that they could carry on carousing undisturbed in their Westminster mansion.

But this Halloween, the many-headed monster known as ‘the people’ comes back to haunt Cameron, Clegg and their hangers-on. It is bigger and fiercer than ever.

The Campaign for a Referendum led by Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire, gathered 120,000 signatures demanding a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU and so triggered the debate and a major Tory rebellion, will reappear tomorrow on College Green with a brand new peoples petition, and this time she is making use of a little-noticed clause in the coalition agreement to force the issue through.

“Many of us did not believe that politicians appointed by the public would treat the public like dirt,” says Nikki, “so we did not invoke this clause. It seems that we were naive.

David Cameron and Nick Clegg owe their positions to some 30,000 voters apiece. They plainly think those were all discerning, intelligent voters who should be obeyed. We have four times as many. They just sneer.

“So we’re coming back with a different Campaign for a Referendum petition, and this time we’re invoking a firm pledge. We’ll see if it’s any firmer than Cameron’s cast-iron promise to hold a referendum which turned out to be made of Belgian chocolate and melted in the heat of high office.

The original petitioners are very angry at the way they were treated and will sign again, and there will be many, many more who want to remind these people that we are sovereign and that we have never been given a chance to decide whether we want our laws made by unelected, unknown bureaucrats in Brussels.

“All that we are saying, as ever, is
‘Let the People Decide.’”

Make sure you read THIS Blog so that you will know how YOU can help promote this NEW Petition.

The Government has agreed the wording for The Government ‘e’ Petition Poll and when the 100,000 signatures are achieved it WILL be a Parliamentary matter – as with the previous successful petition promoted by this CROSS PARTY National Team.

One wonders howmany of the many who are band wagon jumping are just doing it for personal gain so as to get addresses to solicit for money as UKIP did when they ran their fake petition when they spent £250,000+ of tax payer’s money and used the addresses gained to fund THE Ashford scam it seems.

We note no ad vans, no cross party involvement, no national structure, no promotional magazines etc. etc. – it was these aspects that ensured the previous success of the team behind this latest initiative.

Councillor Steve POVEY
a Dedicated Youth Campaigner
Known as a result of his efforts as ‘Mr. Leek’.

Tributes have been paid to renowned councillor, businessman and community campaigner Steve Povey, who has lost his battle with cancer.
Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to ‘people’s champion’, affectionately known as ‘Mr Leek’, after he passed away at his home in Ashbourne Road yesterday afternoon.

The 53-year-old father-of-two was diagnosed with lung cancer in August, but just a month ago rose from his sickbed to challenge colleagues on Staffordshire Moorlands District Council to cut their allowances.

He was well-known in the town for playing a leading role in organising community and charity events, as well as campaigning for local causes.

The UKIP councillor for Leek North and a former Leek mayor, Mr Povey also ran the well-established Povey’s Oatcakes store in Biddulph’s High Street.

He is survived by daughter Olivia, aged 19, and Alex, aged 23, who now runs his oatcake shop.
Friend Keith Harrison, district councillor for Leek North, said Mr Povey began receiving chemotherapy less than a fortnight ago, the Sentinel report today.

Mr Harrison’s wife Gillian and two other family friends helped care for Mr Povey as his health deteriorated.

Mr Harrison said: “He has done so much for the community, as a youth leader and later as a councillor. We are very sad and upset.”

“His hard work will be very sadly missed, but he will be missed as a friend more than anything.”
“My wife said he was fine on the morning of his death and there seemed to be something different about him.”

“It was over very quickly. He passed away just after the ambulance arrived. I feel for his children as they have also lost their mother.”

Mr Povey’s ex-wife Carol, the mother of his children, died at the age of 45 in 2008 after being crushed by a horse in a freak accident.

Neighbour and fellow district councillor Pam Wood said to the Sentinel: “Our thoughts are with Steve’s family.”

“Both me and my family will miss him tremendously and the people of the town will miss him.”
“Since he was 14 he has been involved in some way with this community and nobody had worked harder for Leek than he has.”

“He lived for Leek and has done so much. I don’t think anybody can fill his shoes.”
Friend Ron Locker, district councillor for Cheadle West beat bowel cancer in 2010 and had spoken to Mr Povey about his illness.

He said: “Steve was a Leek man through-and-through. He loved his town, he loved the people and he will be sorely missed as there was such a lot more he could have done.

“He was a people’s champion. He was always on the side of the ordinary people.”

Mr Povey served as a district and town councillor for more than a decade and was elected as a county councillor for Leek at the second attempt in June 2009.

He underwent a triple heart by-pass in 2008, but resumed his council and community work shortly afterwards.

Brigadier Anthony COWGILL a Pillar In The Defence Of Freedom

Last Sunday a man I am very honoured to have spoken with extensively over several years died – it was not until his death last Sunday that I realised his age. In our conversations he was generous with his time and tolerant of my naive questions as I sought to learn ever more about my Country’s enemies of The EU.

I deffer to the words of Christopher Booker who knew him considerably better than I.

The man who let us read the EU constitution
Brigadier Anthony Cowgill, who died last week, put together an intelligible text of the Lisbon Treaty when no one else would, says Christopher Booker
By Christopher Booker
31 Oct 2009
After eight years of tortuous discussion, the Lisbon Treaty, by hook or by crook (but mostly, some would say, by crook), is all but a done deal. The EU will shortly have its constitution by any other name and take its place on the world stage as a fully fledged government, complete with its President (not Tony Blair), Foreign Minister (not David Miliband), an unelected Cabinet (in the shape of the European Council) and enormous new powers over all our lives.
Strangely, however, thanks to the skulduggery whereby they had to pretend that the treaty was not the constitution they wanted, we are not yet officially allowed to read the constitution we shall all have to live under. To assist their sleight of hand, the document the politicians signed at Lisbon consists only of amendments to previous treaties (copied out verbatim from the rejected constitution). Read out of context, these amount to little more than gobbledegook.
The one person who made it possible for us to read our new constitution in comprehensible form was Brigadier Anthony Cowgill of the British Management Data Foundation (BMDF). With extraordinary diligence, and much aided by his son Andrew, he produced a “consolidated” version of the treaty, putting all the amendments into context. What is more, over the past 17 years, Tony Cowgill had performed this invaluable service for each new European treaty in turn, used by politicians, civil servants, lawyers and others all over Europe.
On Thursday night this remarkable man, an unsung hero of our time and a good friend of mine for over 20 years, died just before his 94th birthday. Last Sunday, in my last conversation with him, he said “the secret of remaining active is to remain active”.
I hope to be able to pay proper tribute elsewhere to Tony Cowgill’s various impressive contributions to our country’s life, including his leading part in correcting the woeful misrepresentations of the episode in Austria at the end of the Second World War, when we handed back a large number of Cossacks to the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, anyone wanting to read his meticulously annotated edition of our new constitution in full, The Lisbon Treaty In Perspective, should ring the BMDF on 01452 812837 for details.

Brigadier Anthony Cowgill

Brigadier Anthony Cowgill, who died on October 29 aged 93, had a varied career as a soldier; as chief industrial engineer for Rolls-Royce; and providing high-level liaison between many of Britain’s leading companies and government policy-makers. But his two most notable contributions – illuminating one of the most controversial episodes of the Second World War and explaining the “gobbledegook” of EU treaties – were made at an age when most people have retired.

Brigadier Anthony Cowgill

The Cowgill Inquiry into the repatriation of Cossacks and Yugoslavs at the end of the Second World War by the allies. L-R Lord Brimelow , Brigadier Anthony Cowgill and Christopher Booker Photo: Philip Hollis
The first of these achievements centred on the British Army’s handover, in Austria in 1945, of 47,000 Cossacks to the Soviet Union. This later led to widely publicised allegations that Harold Macmillan, in 1945 Britain’s political representative in the Mediterranean, and Lord Aldington, a senior officer in Austria at the time, had conspired to defy orders and higher command by handing over the Cossacks to almost certain death. Exhaustive researches by a small team headed by Cowgill showed that the charges were baseless and had arisen from a fundamental misreading of the historical evidence.
The second initiative to win him plaudits was to present the ever more complex series of European treaties in a form which made them uniquely comprehensible. His annotated editions of each treaty, from Maastricht to Lisbon, continue to prove invaluable to politicians and many others.
He was then, as India prepared for Independence in 1947, seconded to the Partition Commission, organising the separation of the country’s armed forces between India and Pakistan, after which he was assigned to the new Pakistani army. This led to what he described as the most worrying moment of his life. Returning to his Lahore headquarters one day he found himself, in British Army uniform, the only white man on a train overrun by thousands of armed Pathan tribesmen bent on seizing Kashmir. Sure his last hour had come, he was highly relieved when, addressing him as “sahib”, they treated him instead with friendly respect.
After serving in the Korean War, Cowgill eventually retired from the Army as a brigadier in 1969 to become Chief Industrial Engineer to Rolls-Royce. He was closely involved in the final stages of the development of the revolutionary RB-211 jet engine, the costs of which led to the firm’s bankruptcy and its nationalisation by the Heath Government in 1971, although the RB-211 was ultimately a huge commercial success. In 1979 Cowgill set up the highly-respected British Management Data Foundation (BMDF), run from his home in the Cotswolds, to provide expert briefing to many of the leading companies in British industry and to assist them in high-level liaison with government on matters of common concern.
In 1986, then aged 71, he was shocked to read The Minister and the Massacres, a book by Count Nikolai Tolstoy accusing Harold Macmillan of having conspired with senior Army officers in 1945 to commit a “war crime” by handing over large numbers of surrendered Cossack and Yugoslavs to face death at the hands of their Communist enemies, in flagrant breach of military orders. Since this was the gravest charge ever levelled at a British prime minister or at the British Army, he invited Lord Brimelow, a former permanent head of the Foreign Office, and the journalist Christopher Booker, both of whom had studied this unhappy episode, to join him in a full investigation of the facts.
Initially all three had found Tolstoy’s account persuasive, but were aware that there were significant gaps in the evidence. By a remarkable feat of detective work over four years, Cowgill managed to track down all the missing signals and orders necessary to a proper understanding of what had happened. In particular, thanks to inspired guesswork, he discovered in a Washington archive 127 unopened boxes containing many key documents previously thought lost. What gradually emerged was a picture of the events totally at odds with the version given by Tolstoy.
In 1989 many of these documents played a part in the libel action brought by Lord Aldington against Tolstoy, resulting in the largest libel damages ever awarded in a British court (£1.6 million, although this was never paid). When, in 1990, the Cowgill team published, it revealed that the part played by Macmillan had been quite irrelevant to the fate of the Cossacks. The handovers had been fully authorised from General Alexander down, in full accord with established Allied policy. Indeed, several of the “massacres” described by Tolstoy had never in fact taken place and the majority of Cossacks were released from gulags after a year. Cowgill’s report, The Repatriations from Austria in 1945, was praised by leading historians as a model of its kind.
In 1992 Cowgill was again shocked to learn that Parliament was being asked to approve the Maastricht treaty before MPs had been given the chance properly to read it. All they were given was a series of amendments to the existing treaties, which read out of context were no more than gobbledegook (a Foreign Office minister said it would be “improper” to publish a complete version of the treaty before it was ratified). With the aid of his son Andrew, Cowgill worked round the clock to produce a “consolidated” version, putting all the amendments in context. Sir Keith Joseph, a former Tory Cabinet minister, then arranged for copies to be circulated to every MP before the Maastricht Bill came up for second reading.
The BMDF’s edition of the treaty proved so uniquely valuable that it was given semi-official status, much in demand by policy-makers and many others, not only in Britain, but also in Europe and America (one admirer was Henry Kissinger). Cowgill and his son went on to produce similarly authoritative editions of all the subsequent EU treaties, right up to their latest, The Lisbon Treaty In Perspective.

Tony Cowgill was a shrewd observer of the world, believing that public policy must be “data driven”, and rest on properly researched evidence. It was this which led him to increasing scepticism on many issues, from the value of our membership of the EU to global warming. In 1948 he married Anne, whom he had met in India where she was serving as a WRNS officer. She died in 2005, and he is survived by their son and daughter.

I will add hereto any Official published Obituary which I spot as it is clear that Christopher knew Tony Cowgill far better than I he makes no pretence that this brief clip of his life is anything more than just that ‘a brief clip’.

In wishing Tony’s son our condollences at his loss let us hope that we are not to loose too much in his demise and that Andrew continues his Father’s exemplary work of enlightenment, continuing the work of The British Management Data Foundation, where they had worked together for many years in Stroud.

UKIP MEPs Show No Integrity or Loyalty to Members or The UK it seems!

Not content with a Leader & his parasites who fall out with 1/3rd of the elected officials!

Clearly these people have a far greater interest in their own self importance and self enrichment than they have in representing the wishes of their members nation wide or even their electors!

UKIP MEPs Show No Integrity or Loyalty to Members or The UK it seems!

Hi,

let none of us forget that Godfrey Bloom was elected as a member of UKIP and that UKIP members have voted 2 to 1 CONCLUSIVELY against its MEPs being members of Pan EU Political Party Groups – Yet Godfrey Bloom is in flagrant disregard being President of One to get himself extra money and a member of another thus lining the pocket of his chum Nigel Farage.

Bloom is himself President of The Pan EU Alliance for Freedom, which is very much alive – it has a website, it has a photograph of presumably UKIP members gathered behind a great banner with UKIP’s logo underneath its own, and claims: “The EAF participated in a call by the British people, demanding a referendum”. That’s hardly ‘history’. It was only the day before yesterday!

They demean UKIP and their respective Pan EU Groupings by making such claims!

As to be fair it is hard to see what Bloom’s Groups – either The EFD or The PEUAF had to do with the 125,000 signature put to Parliament by Nikki Sinclaire can be belatedly claimed as part of their remit when both Godfrey Bloom and Nigel Farage have received a Court JUDGEMENT against them for their dishonesty and abuse of Nikki Sinclaire seemingly doing almost all they could to aid The EU by effectively trying to sabotage the Petition campaign for a Referendum which won the right to a debate in Westminster and the momentous step forward towards leaving the EU.

What is now essential is to follow up this victory by concentrating on doing the job that UKIP was elected to do in the first place – NOT act as an enrichment source for a small claque forming UKIP Leadership and its parasites.

The job UKIP should have done long ago but is clearly incapable of and thus unfit for purpose is to provide an Exit & Survival Strategy for these United Kingdoms from The EU and educate through training programmes of its members the entire British and Northern Irish electorate in both the benefits AND the reassurance that we can and will suffer no damage nor risk in leaving The EU and repatriating our democracy and restoring our Sovereign Independence as a global trading nation.

One wonders if Bloom’s PEP will qualify for 2012 funding and will therefore be gone after the end of this year? That’s quite possible. In fact with the vile specimens in UKIP’s Pan EU Political Party EFD one wonders how it can survive as clearly it is only held together for the enrichment of the few rather than based upon either the principles, ethics or interests of the many!

We note the extremism, racism, anti Judaism and abuse of homosexuals of Farage’s personal cash cow the EFD; also that the Hungarian MEP Krisztina Morvai left the PEUAF at the end of July claiming ‘differences’ with the Austrian Freedom Party, but which possibly had more to do with the fact that she was also a member of another PEP, the AENM, and funding rules prohibit MEPs from belonging to more than one.

On this count alone one wonders how Bloom passes muster!

Her departure from the PEUAF may well also have left the group short of elected representation in the required minimum seven member states. The EFD would also be hovering around failure on the basis of numbers – although more than enough sordid people live off the EU as elected representatives to the scam not to mention its self serving apparatchiks and over paid over blown demie gods – it seems there are inadequate to sustain more than one extremist group without their falling out on a regular basis, seemingly over their levels of hatred and abuse where self interest in money seems their only real motivation!

Can anyone advise where a listing of these grubby little scams has managed to put in a funding application for next year?

UKIP Leadership Show Few of Thatcher’s Merits!
Nor it seems does it offer much that could be described as of merit whatever – sadly!

.
Hi,

the hypothesis that UKIP is fundamentally little more than an old school Tory Party in the Thatcherite mold.

To which I have responded:

Hi,

you overlook the possibility that UKIP does not really exist and that it may be nothing more than a manifestation in virtual reality of the self enriching aims of its leadership and their parasites!

During the debate and passing of The EU Constitution even when it became called The Treaty of Lisbon UKIP took no active role in the debate or to campaign against it.

Then we had The EU Referendum Campaign at that time – UKIP made no active part.

Now we have UKIP taking absolutely no active part in The Petition for an EU Referendum which gave rise to the debate in The House of Commons beyond actively slagging it off and seeking to criticise it.

UKIP has in 20 years utterly failed to devise an Exit & Survival Strategy, has never held training, has displayed no vision and has been an abject failure at convincing the public of the wisdom of negotiated withdrawal from The EU in a manner that has convinced other than the converted that it would be safe to leave The EU.

In fact UKIP has shown no signs of leadership – no strategy and no moral or ethical position to capitalise on recent developements led by others – to try to steal this position and claim glory puts UKIP in a very poor light.

I note Marta Andreasen & Mikle Natrass realised in their case that signing in to get their expenses for attending Strassberg was hugely more important to them than being in Westminster to lend support to the 111 Parliamentary heroes who voted for Democracy and in the interests of the peoples of these United Kingdoms and in accord with the majority wish.

No UKIP is not remotely Thatcherite – nor old school Toty – they were in their day, in the main, acting both with integrity amd with vision – whether one agreed with that vision or not!

Further they are dissimilar in that I can think of no member of Thatcher’s leadership team who were there for personal enrichment though there are certain similarities to the morals of Cecil Parkinson and David Mellor!

Regards,
Greg_L-W.

Parliamentary Patriots by Party who value Democracy!

These are the MPs who voted in favour of an EU Referendum in response to the overwhellming evidence that the peoples of these United Kingdoms want and will increasingly DEMAND a referendum on The EU!!

.

~~~~~~~~~~#########~~~~~~~~~~
.
Hi,
Further to The Hansard listing CLICK HERE of Patriots & Traitors:
Here is a list, by Party Membership, of MPs who voted for a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU, in the House of Commons debate on the matter of a referendum on The EU of the 24-Oct-2011.
We applaud all those who acquitted their duty to represent the interests of the electorate who by a margin of over 70% want to excercise their fundamental human right of self determination.
It was good to see those Tories, Labour and LibDim MPs who had the courage to defy their clearly failed leaders Cameron, Clegg and Milliband after their disgraceful attempt to gag democracy by imposing three line whips on them.
The contempt for the peoples of these United Kingdoms as represented by Cameron, Clegg and Milliband is clear for all to see yet they have the obscene hubris & arrogance to talk about restoring democracy to Libya, by aiding in the slaughter, rapes & torture of many of the peoples of Libya in a clearly fabricated uprising against probably THE most stable regime in all of Africa led by a tribal war lord who welded together the most literate, best educated, home owning, car owning wealthiest peoples of Africa. A leader who within the context of Africa stands out as a beacon of success with his provision of Africa’s best health service and best welfare system. A man who has brought the flowering of the desert to be a close reality with the provision of huge amounts of fresh water as an immediate probability.
So how about repatriating democracy to Britain by allowing the people a real say in how and by whom OUR COUNTRY is governed?
It seems at present the majority of politicians at Westminster vote in their own personal interest in complete disregard for these United Kingdoms, jobs, infrastructure, democracy, trade and sovereign independence for which our ancestors and many still alive have given or risked their lives.
We all owe a debt of gratitude to Nikki Sinclaire, the Independent MEP who put together the team that obtained the 100,000 signatures required to ensure this debate & on the very day of the debate she delivered another 25,000 signatures to Drowning Street – The fight will continue!
Hi,
here is the outcome in full detail of the debate in The House of Commons:
24 Oct 2011 : Column 46
Backbench Business
[34th Allotted Day]
National Referendum on the European Union
Mr Speaker: I should inform the House that I have selected none of the amendments.
In view of the very large number of Members who wish to speak in the debate, I have imposed a limit of five minutes on each Back-Bench speech.
4.32 pm
Mr David Nuttall (Bury North) (Con): I beg to move,
That this House calls upon the Government to introduce a Bill in the next session of Parliament to provide for the holding of a national referendum on whether the United Kingdom should
(a) remain a member of the European Union on the current terms;
(b) leave the European Union; or
(c) re-negotiate the terms of its membership in order to create a new relationship based on trade and co-operation.
The motion stands in my name and those of many other right hon. and hon. Members.
I must start by thanking the Backbench Business Committee for providing time for today’s debate. It is an historic debate, and the amount of interest generated in advance of it has surely put beyond any doubt the fact that the public are concerned about this matter. It fully vindicates the establishment of the Committee, and its decision to facilitate the debate. I thank my hon. Friends the Members for Basildon and Billericay (Mr Baron), for Christchurch (Mr Chope), for Clacton (Mr Carswell), for Rochester and Strood (Mark Reckless) and for Wycombe (Steve Baker), along with many others, for their tireless work and support from the very outset. With the leave of the House, my hon. Friend the Member for Wellingborough (Mr Bone) will briefly wind up the debate.
The motion reflects the wishes of the hundreds of thousands of people who have signed petitions calling for a referendum on the United Kingdom’s future relationship with the European Union. Opinion polls clearly show that millions of others agree with them: in fact, the vast majority of the British people want a vote in a referendum. The arguments for and against the United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union can wait until a future referendum campaign. The motion that is before us today simply paves the way for a referendum to be held on some future, as yet unspecified, date. Therefore, any argument that now is not the right time for a referendum to be held is, quite frankly, irrelevant. Even if the motion is passed today, a referendum is likely to be years away.
Outside number 10 about to hand over the petition of OVER 100,000 Signatures
L-R Trevor Colman MEP, Mike Nattrass MEP, Kelvin Hopkins MP,
Nikki Sinclaire MEP,
Rt. Hon Nigel Dodds MP, Kate Hoey MP,
Maggie Inglis, Josh O’Nyons, and a Kate Hoey staff member
Let us hope that the MPs & MEPs have the democratic good sense to be in Downing Street in support of Nikki Sinclaire TODAY of all days as she and supporters deliver another 20,000 signatures+ to Downing Street and the debate follows at Westminster.
I submit we will be able to ascertain with one hundred percent accuracy which MPs & MEPs 1are there to represent the best interests of these United Kingdoms and its peoples and their own constituents and which were absent – more interested in representing their personal interests by not campaigning to ensure the peoples of Britain receive the fundamental human right of self determination.
There will of course be many self interested politicians only interested in themselves and trying to seek personal glory but today was the achievement of Nikki Sinclaire and Nikki Sinclaire alone with the team she put together and the example she has set other MEPs and MPs.
This is the first very momentous step in a very hard battle for freedom and our greatest enemies will be, as ever, Continental EUrope and our own Enemy Within – politicians, Snivil Cervants and petty fogging self important parasites and hangers on seeking self enrichment and self agrandisement by selling our the peoples of Britain to foreign and VERY ALIEN rule.
Good Luck and thank you to everyone who has supported Nikki Sinclaire on this momentous day – YES of cvourse we know this first step will be thwarted and the people betrayed in every way self serving and corrupt politicians and their parasites know how.
We will publish, as a permanent record, the list of SHAME & GLORY
showing how every MP voted as soon as feasible!
THE EU Commons Debate: Nikki Sinclaire Press Release
The Independent MEP Nikki  Sinclaire with supporting MP’s will be in Downing Street at 10.30am delivering the remainder of petition forms to the Prime Minister.
The Campaign vehicle largely responsible will be located fro 11am to 7pm at Old Palace Yard opposite the Houses of Parliament.
PRESS RELEASE
Sunday 23rd October 2011
‘GUARDIAN’ OF 100,000 PETITION THAT INSTIGATED THE DEBATE ON EU REFERENUM SLAMS MAIN POLITICAL PARTIES
The founder and coordinator of the 100,000 petition handed in to Downing street last month triggering off the process that has given the debate has criticized the main political parties for treating the petitioners and the electorate with contempt.
Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire set up the cross party initiative ‘Campaign for a Referendum’ to give a say to the ordinary people sick and tired of the constant arguing on Brittan’s membership of the EU. The Campaign has been supported by many MPs from across the political spectrum.
Ms Sinclaire feels a strong responsibility for those who signed the petition saying “We submitted 100,000 voices to Downing Street and as the ‘Guardian’ of those people I feel the need to speak up for them”
The majority of the signatures were collected by Ms Sinclaire’s campaign bus that went town to town, city to city and canvassed huge support.
Ms Sinclaire says “The signatures were given in good faith by people who wanted to establish for once and for all the UK’s membership of the EU. We would have stuck by the verdict of the people, but the politicians don’t trust democracy any more. They won’t allow us to have our say. We’ve forced them to have the debate, but they have imposed whips. This shows complete contempt for the people who gave them their positions.”
Nikki is urging all MP’s of whatever political persuasion to defy the whips and vote for what the people who put them into power want.
Recent YouGov polls show an overwhelming majority of the electorate want a referendum with 52% would vote to leave and only 30% would vote to remain in the EU
Nikki, an independent MEP, added: “Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project. This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum”
Ms Sinclaire will deliver the remainder of the petition forms to Downing Street tomorrow morning at 10.30 am with supporting MPs making the total submitted in excess of 120,000
Ends
Note to Editors.
~Nikki Sinclaire + Petition = Referendum Debate at Westminster!
The Next step will be Westminster betraying the wishes of the electorate and the best interests of these United Kingdoms and our peoples!
This is only the beginning of the end of Britain’s unfortunate and unlawfull membership of The Failing EU – There is a great deal of work on the many steps ahead!
.
Hi,
well we have the clarity of Nikki Sinclaire’s press release on the subject of HER Petition which has gained a debate in The House of Commons – just a crack in the ice and I do congratulate her for the achievement of over 120,000 signatures so far and growing and also for obtaining cross party support.
Here is her Press Release and then let us consider som e of the ramifications of the even she has driven forward to so hugely influience Westminster and highlight the fact that the peoples of these United Kingdoms by a majority, or so her recent You Gov poll sjhows would vote to leave The EU with a simple majority of 52% voting to leave and only 30% voting to stay!
More convincingly we note that 66% of Tory voters would vote to leave and 74% of Tory voters want an In/Out EU Referendum!
Press Release – House of Commons to debate British membership of the EU
The historic House of Commons debate on if the UK should be allowed a referendum on whether to pull out of the European Union is set to take place next week on Thursday the 27th of October 2011 from mid-day onwards in the main chamber. This follows the presentation to Downing Street of a petition calling for a referendum.
If MPs vote in favour of a referendum, David Cameron will come under huge pressure to offer the British public a chance to say for once and for all if they want to withdraw from the EU.
The Commons Backbench Business Committee met this afternoon to set the date. Nikki Sinclaire MEP who instigated and then delivered, along with a broad cross-party delegation of MPs and MEPs, the petition of over 120,000 signatures to No 10 Downing Street said “This is a victory for democracy, and for the common man whose voice has been ignored for too long. It has been a long haul, but gathering these signatures has been a great experience, and my thanks go out to all those people who worked so tirelessly to make this happen”.
The motion that has been submitted for debate is:
This House calls upon the Government to introduce a Bill in the next session of Parliament to provide for the holding of a national referendum on whether the United Kingdom
(a) should remain a member of the European Union
(b) leave the European Union
(c) re-negotiate the terms of its membership in order to create a new relationship based on trade and co-operation.
Nikki Sinclaire has vowed to keep the pressure on David Cameron and his government. “The signatures keep coming in” she said today, “and next Thursday we will be back at the door of 10 Downing Street with even more. The people are speaking out now, the government must listen.”
Sinclaire’s performance throughout has been professional and dedicated but be minded she has continued on multiple fronts to ensure she has provided the service and services her5 constituents nexpect bof her. She has supported the people opposing the illegal settlement of ‘so called’ travellers whilst campaigning for and obtaining the repatriation of a constituent in hospital after a serious accident in Greece and much more with frequent consequential input in The EU’s pretend parliament and participating in ajudication in Tunisia’s democratic dawn.
Probably the greatest displkay of professionalism has been her complete indifference as to who gets the plaudits for the petition she organised and delivered to Parliament – The aim is to work towards winning Britain’s liberty from The EU – leaving the self seekers and the guilty inadequates to try to claim the glory and win the medals.
When all is said and done it is clear that some in UKIP Leadership have ntaken every step they could to thwart and denigrate her efforts with petty jealousies and foolish lies displaying their inadequacies. Let’s leave the fools to posture and try to sieze her achievement as if they had some part in it.
One only needs to note the obvious panic on the part of the Government – such that they plan on a 3 line whip to crush democracy and have brought the date forward in fear of extensive lobbying being organised and to ensure that the biggest traitors in Britain can be in Parliament to issue their abuse of the electorate by FORCING opposition to the concept of the peoples of Britain leaving The EU’s malign and failing project.
Unable to risk a free vote we know the result will be rigged but that we have managed to bring this project to a head and using Parliament’s own suggestion have not just convinced several papers to support a Referendum but given rise to 3 other petitions following in Sinclaire’s footsteps and even the Government hosting a 4th. petition on its web site.
Newsnight earlier this evening showed just how great The Government panic is wioth Macmillan scott clearly telling lies about the petition to try to save face trying to claim a newspaper was behind it which is patently untrue as he knows and seeking to attribute it to UKIP which would clearly have debased its value – in view of their association with extremists, racists and violent xenophobes.
I see no likelihood of this debate leading to a referendum as the Government is foolish enough to cheat the public and nthe wishes of the public but the great benefit of this is that it is another exposure of the venal corruption of our politicians and their determination to serve their own interests – be it fiddling expenses, rigging debates and elections or paying their ‘close’ chums out of the public purse.
The EU project has clearly failed and it is now only supported by those it directly funds with money stolen from the majority. NO POLITICIAN has ever shown a clear benefit for Britain in membership – even Edward Heath had to lie to the public to dupe them into supporting an unlawfull referendum to ratify The Treaty of Rome.
NEVER have the peoples of Britain legitimately voted to be in or support membership of The EU and building this scam on a pack of lies and a raft of corruption is clearly coming home to roost – The Sinclaire Petition and the debate is a small step for a British Patriot but a giant leap for British Patriotism and liberty!
It matters not a jot who gets the medals it is all important that this debate goes ahead as yet another step that has to be made to Leave-the-EU.
If UKIP had built a reputation of integrity, probity, transparency and ethical behaviour this referendum might well have succeeded but due to the damage they have done this debate is just one of the essential steps forward towards Britain’s Liberty.
Well done Nikki Sinclaire and her collaborators and supporters. It is clear she has managed to do more since she was dishonestly removed as a UKIP MEP than EVERY UKIP member of the UKIP Leadership and its parasites enriching themselves at the expense of the genuine members over almost 20 years.
Every journey starts with a single step and obtaining this debate is a massive leap forwards!
Now the hard work begins and let us hope Nikki Sinclaire has the energy and can get the needed financial support to take the battle forward – I hope YOU will lend YOUR support as a patriot.
