‘Bully’ Bloom slammed for gay funding question

An MEP from the UK Independence Party has been condemned by LGBT groups for questioning the European Commission on the legitimacy of funding of an LGBT rights organisation.

Godfrey Bloom was criticised by The European Parliament’s Intergroup on LGBT rights for asking the European Commission to justify the funding given to the International Gay and Lesbian Association, Europe.

Mr Bloom was accused by lesbian MEP, Nikki Sinclaire, of abusively calling her “queer”, which UKIP denies. The MEP wrote several questions to the European Commission which alleged that the group received funding from private donors who could “own” NGOs.

The Intergroup says this infers questions over the legitimacy of ILGA-Europe’s work towards equality for LGBT people.

As the main organisation working for LGBT rights, ILGA-Europe receives funding from several sources, the biggest being the European Commission. The organisation’s accounts are publicly available, and they are regularly audited.

A comment made by Michael Cashman, MEP, co-president of the EP LGBT Intergroup said: “Mr Bloom’s attempt to undermine European funding is unworthy of exposure. He should focus on the substantial question, which is equality and non-discrimination. But I don’t expect this from a colleague who believes women’s rights are a waste of time. Thankfully, he doesn’t represent the majority of decent British people.”

Ulrike Lunacek MEP, Co-president of the LGBT Intergroup, commented, saying that Mr Bloom: “is a true role model for bullies around Europe.”

A similar question was asked by Konrad Szymański, a Polish MEP last month, and The European Commission is to address their questions in coming weeks.

However, a UKIP spokesman told PinkNews.co.uk today that Bloom was not homophobic but was looking out for the interests of the taxpayer.

He said: “Bloom and UKIP’s beef as a whole is we are uncomfortable with people calling themselves NGOs when they are state funded.”

UKIP’s spokesman said the gay rights group obtains 75% of its funding from the EU and the Dutch government.

He continued: “He who pays the piper calls the tune.

“IGLA-Europe is dishonest about its relationship with the EU. It’s going to be very difficult if the group wished to oppose strongly an EU policy because there would be a threat that their funds would be cut.

“To describe themselves as an NGO is false. It’s not about a policy issue, it’s about the relationship between that body and government.”

Bloom asked the Commission: “How does the Commission view the influence that wealthy individuals may exert over the NGOs they are subsidising?

“Is there a risk that persons such as George Soros could “buy” themselves one or more NGOs that are economically dependent on their donations?”

Godfrey Bloom was ejected from the European Parliament chambers in 2010 after heckling German MEP, Martin Schulz with the Nazi slogan: “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer,” to German politician, Martin Schulz.

So it seems that when an individual questions where taxpayer cash is going, people who preach equality ‘condemn’ him.
I know that these same people who are all about equality, apart from when they disagree with something, then it’s probably racism, homophobia, xenophobia etc. There is a better way to spend this money given the financial trouble Europe is in, stating that doesn’t make someone a bad person.

During a debate about Europe at the Foreign Press Association – which was discreetly taped by the hosts – Farage was asked by former Europe minister Denis MacShane what he had received in non-salary expenses and allowances since becoming an MEP in 1999.

“It is a vast sum,” Farage said. “I don’t know what the total amount is but – oh lor – it must be pushing £2 million.” Taken aback, MacShane then joked: “Is it too late to become an MEP?”

Farage insisted that he had not “pocketed” the money but had used the “very large sum of European taxpayers’ money” to help promote Ukip’s message that the UK should get out of the EU.

When asked later by the Observer to justify how he could claim so much while running a campaign attacking Westminster MPs for their extravagance, Farage was unapologetic, saying that, while MEPs were “very expensive”, he was entirely happy that the money had been used for the best of causes.”

This is shameful of Godfrey Bloom, we all pay our taxes, etc and he should understand that the Gay Community should have a voice in the EU Parliament,. We are citizens of Europe too, and he should be standing up for those in Europe whom are still fighting for recognition of their Gay Rights too. Gay Rights are Human Rights, he seems to be a loose cannon in UKIP and Farage should reprimand him for his ‘homophobic’ comments.

attributed to Britain, The United Kingdom, England. In the summer of

It’s especially the Greek finance/economy situation which is a

eyeopener : The Greek GDP is only one third of its supposed amount of

debt. This should ring some bells and whistles into deafened ears. One

can hardly imagine how in earth Greece would have come into such amount

of Debt through factors from within its own economy only. The proven

explanation is that external factors, from outside Greece have given

Greece this debt, most probably by a couple of well placed shoplift

actions from foreign Financial Markets.

According this video the debt of the United Kingdom is 4.8 Trillion UK

Sterling Pounds. Let me then ask, why it is, that Ireland is put under

IMF austerity measures with only 80 billion EURO debt, whereas the UK

is still a independent nation?

So who are the Creditors (i.e. the ones to whom that ridiculous amount

of money is due) ? And when the identity of these legal personae is

known, please advise them to send in the invoices with valid

specifications of what the UK has bought for that 4.8 Trillion.

The value of all the assets (activa) combined inside the UK not even

comes close to 4.8 Trillion UKP.

There’s only one valid explanation possible here, and that is interest

over interest a couple of times multiplied, with several lever’s put in

sequence. In one word thats called usury. The UK economy, which

already has been hollowed out, simply has not enough horsepower to keep

this financial Moloch well fed, and can not prevent the UK economic

society to grind down to a screeching halt.

The only sane solution left is to have the “leverage” usury part of the

debt identified and denounced in a by fiend and foe accepted, court of law.

Is there any possibility to file a suit in a European or International

Court of Law which would denounce the “leverage” usury part of the

European debt?

That she is a resident of Barcelona, Spanish from Argentina where she was born to Danish parents and she has married a Swede does little to enhance her credibility as a UKIP BRITISH MEP!

EU bureaucrats bleeding union dry

Bureaucrats have been squandering EU funds for years, using the cash to enhance the body’s public image in order to ensure its survival, claims Marta Andreasen, European Member of Parliament and former Chief Accountant to the European Commission.

Andreasen said she was not a Eurosceptic when she was appointed chief accountant but she now believes that Brussels only cares about propping up the idea of the EU, however much the budget grows.

“I thought the European project was a project of corporations, I thought they were sharing solutions among different member states, so I was quite honored to be able to be a part of that and the administrative reform that it was undergoing,” she told RT.

Marta Andreasen explained that she changed her mind about the EU after she found out that “they had no control of the payments they were making out of the EU budget.”

‘They do not care about taxpayers’ money’

“Basically, they did not ask if people were qualified to get the funds from the EU and I was responsible for putting my signature to that expenditure, so I had the highest responsibility, and I felt I needed to know if I was paying to the right person and for the right purpose,” the former chief accountant explained.

“They just did not care and they did not allow me to make changes to be able to determine that we were making the right payment,” she said, adding that people who were not supposed to get EU funding might have used the funds for other purposes.

Marta Andreasen revealed that when the EU authorities raised revenue from European taxpayers, they were gave misleading information about where that money was going. “To a certain extent they were lying to the European taxpayers.”

Andreasen believed she was working on behalf of the taxpayer and her obligation was to make sure payments were correct.

Marta Andreasen was fired for blowing the whistle and she doubts whether anything in the EU’s finance and budget control has changed since.

“I can see that both the Budgetary Control Committee (which oversees payments out of the budget) and the Budget Committee (which oversees the planning of the budget) have no respect for taxpayers’ money,” Andreasen lamented.

“It is very difficult to prove fraud in places where you do not have adequate systems of control,” she said. “But there are beneficiaries who are getting the money without being eligible – that is the essence of the situation.

“I do not think there is any will [in the EU] to tighten these practices up, because they have a different agenda – they want to promote the European Union project and to do so they want to be able to give the money to the people who will support and promote the EU project, not to the people who really care about the EU in a proper way and not to the people who are going to use this funding to grow the economy of a certain part of the EU,” revealed the MP.

Real power in hands of elite

”The real power in the EU is in the hands of the directors-general of various directorates of the European Commission, who have been sitting in their chairs for decades, while the commissioners come and go every five years,” explained the former chief accountant, accusing the directors of using funding to curry support. And Brussels is not expected to cut spending amidst the global financial crisis.

The Greek phenomenon

Greece was not eligible to enter the Eurozone at the time she was let in, but despite the fact that all the data necessary to evaluate the state of the economy of any European state is available through Eurostat, the statistics agency went silent, never disclosing the problems that were in the pipeline for Greece, and which have taken barely ten years to emerge.

“The [EU] budget was used to grow the economies of all the countries that came to the Eurozone. Greece got 60 billion euro in the last 20 years out of the EU budget. The question is – where did the money go? Because the Greek economy has not grown,” asks Marta Andreasen, saying that the same applies to Spain and Portugal.

Out of control

Despite the UK’s Foreign Secretary William Hague saying that the EU budget is under control, it is far from being so, insists Andreasen.

It is the EU directors at the helm of the body who have a vested interest in keeping the European Union project going in order to retain power over the EU member states.

Ending the interview, Marta Andreasen confessed that ten years after she attempted to change the financial system of the union, she feels vindicated.

“We could have prevented all that is happening today,” she concluded.

Tim Congdon has unequivocally endorsed THE PETITION for a EU-Referendum and features on the front page of a free distribution magazine being mailed out to between 20 & 30,000 activists, supporters and backers across Britain from the offices of Nikki Sinclaire MEP – this will do a great deal to firmly put UKIP on the map as a democratic party that can be trusted to endorse Patriotic issues not just self interest and navel gazing for the profit of the few.

Aspects of UKIP that Tim Congdon will do all he can to progress, moving away from the endemic corruption here to fore.

Clear majorities of the British people want their country to leave the European Union.

A recent YouGov poll found that 47 per cent wanted the UK out of the EU, compared with 33 per cent who preferred to stay in.

Bizarrely, the latest Eurobarometer of public attitudes (financed by the European Commission) had earlier demonstrated a similar result. It showed that 33 per cent of its UK respondents regarded the EU as “a bad thing”, while 29 per cent viewed it as a “a good thing”.

The current widespread opposition to the EU is hardly surprising, as EU interventions in our national life are now disrupting longestablished traditions, undermining revered institutions and damaging livelihoods.

For many decades junior doctors have acquired experience – the experience which is essential if they are to be real doctors and not parrots of the textbooks – by working very long hours in real-world, often life-or-death clinical settings. Now, because of the Working Time Directive, they are prevented by law from this practice.

With lives being put in jeopardy by an EU directive, the puzzle is not that almost half of British people want to leave the EU, but why a third still believe in staying in. More and more people are angry and resentful about how EU decisions are affecting them in their daily lives.

There is a growing discrepancy between popular hostility to the EU and the willingness of successive British governments to hand over so-called “competences” to EU control.

This discrepancy is dangerous. When people believe that politicians are out-of-touch and untrustworthy, and ignore what they want, the risk of civil disobedience increases. In a modern democracy politicians must respect the wishes of citizens and voters. The case for a referendum on the UK’s continued membership of the EU is now overwhelming.

The 2009 Lisbon Treaty was undoubtedly a radical change in the constitutional arrangements of every EU member state, including the UK. All three of the main parties gave clear pledges in their manifestos at the 2005 general election to hold a referendum in the event of another big European constitutional upheaval.

Yet all three of them then judged that the Lisbon Treaty was not important enough to justify the holding of a referendum.

This is scandalous, an orchestrated insult to the intelligence of the British electorate. Britain must have a referendum on its membership of the European Union.

That referendum needs to be held as soon as possible, to stop more damage being done to our traditions, our institutions and our way of life.
