Hi,

Speak Out About #Racism And Corruption In #Ukip, Get Suspended …

Jay Beecher

Ukip claims to be strong in the Midlands, and one of their few successes is Peterborough, driven in the main by Jay Beecher, deputy chairman of the local branch, who co-ordinated the local Vote Leave campaign during the recent EU Referendum.

Beecher has now been suspended and has fired off a damning statement (see update at foot of post) which confirms pretty much everything we’ve ever said about Ukip.

Beecher in effect made two ‘faux-pas’. The minor one was being Campaign Manager for Lisa Duffy in the recent Ukip Leadership Election. Diane James will never forget.

But the major ‘no-no’ was to speak out, publicly about the racism, cronyism, hypocrisy and corruption. We always though Ukip claimed to stand for ‘Free Speech’ Clearly not, when it doesn’t suit them.

A few days ago he tweeted:

And Ukip’s response to this? Much like the response to when Suzanne Evans did the same 6 months ago : Immediate suspension.

Mr Beecher told the Peterborough Telegraph:

“I’ve been suspended for standing up to and speaking out against elements of racism, cronyism, corruption and hypocrisy which I became privy to during the leadership race. All these things are destroying UKIP.”

“I’m very disappointed with the route I’m having to take, but I’m proud to be making a stand. We shouldn’t ever shy away from challenging someone’s immoral or racist behaviour simply because we might share the same political beliefs or swear allegiance to the same party.”

“Since my suspension I’ve had members from all over the UK – chairmen, grassroots, and even members of the NEC and the Welsh assembly – contact me to offer their support.”

“Our party looks to be turning in a rather questionable direction. Our grassroots, our elected officials and the people they represent are being sorely let down. It’s time we made a stand.”

In reply, an un-named UKIP spokesman said: “Mr Beecher has been suspended after repeatedly making deliberate and demonstratively false allegations against other members of the party, and doing so to various media outlets. He is a talented young man and it is a shame that he uses his time to attack people in his party rather than to build up support as we move forward to the Cambridgeshire County Council elections next year.”

So Ukip have determined that these allegations are, apparently ‘demonstratively false‘. That’s quick – within 24 hours – yet it takes them 6 to 9 months to investigate whether a racist tweet is against their policies.

However, Ukip’s denials are all in vain: Beecher’s allegations are mostly true from what we can see.

Evans – Reinstated

Ironically this happens on the very day that Suzanne Evans is reinstated to Ukip after her suspension, for speaking out against the selection of ‘the most homophobic man in politics’ Allan Craig as a #Ukip Candidate in London.

Seems to us these actions should get Beecher promoted, not suspended.

But this is how Ukip works. All dissent is hammered while simultaneously wailing about Free Speech. For any suspension for racism, homophobia, islamophobia, etc, the whole process can take months. Beechers ejection seems to have been overnight.

Such was the system under Farage : Diane James is clearly continuing that legacy.

Update:

Almost the moment this post went live, Beecher made a full statement, in a long, rather rambling post he laid out a damning indictment against the party, and a complete confirmation, from an insider, of almost all of the issues we and others have raised.

“As campaign manager for one of the leading candidates, I’ve been able to get a good insight into how our party operates. As a result, from what I’ve learnt, I’m resolved that, in its current format, UKIP is in a state of crisis.”

“A few at the top, through ego, and through personal interest, have launched a fierce regime to control our great party.”

“Anyone who has dared to point out the immoral actions of anyone associated with the top tier cronyism in our party has been slandered and demonized by an egotistical clique. Party loyalty has been rebranded as disloyalty. We have also fallen victim to a controlling donor, to corruption, and in some cases, have even allowed acts of racism to go unpunished. This MUST stop.”

(Beecher says ‘some cases’. We would say ‘many’ and have documented them on this site and on our Social Media feeds.)

“When Suzanne Evans is suspended for speaking out against homophobia, yet Jamie Ross McKenzie – the chairman of our Youth Wing, gets away scot-free after being cautioned by police for verbally and racially abusing a black doorman, or after using white supremacist terms on social media and encouraging appalling levels of racism and trolling, you know we have a serious problem.”

“I filed an official complaint, calling for the discipline or expulsion of certain members who had made racist or derogatory comments; the chairman of YI included. Yet to date, this complaint has been ignored. And that is because Jamie Ross McKenzie – who gave the closing speech at our Bournemouth Conference, worked for a particular candidate in the leadership race.”

“Diane, however, as Ian told me, didn’t want the job at all. She lives predominantly in France, and her employment as an MEP supports this rather agreeable lifestyle.”

“But it was already decided for her that she would stand. Farage convinced her. And Arron Banks (who uses our party as his play thing) convinced her not to attend any hustings for fear that she wouldn’t fare well against stronger candidates.”

(We were always critical about Diane James refusing to attend hustings. We now know why.)

“In direct contradiction of rule N4 of our party’s rulebook, Diane James was given unfair advantage in the contest by being able to use the Leave.EU database to send out her campaign material to millions of people.”

“Meanwhile, it appears clear that the outcome of the race had been determined long before the off.”

“One of Diane’s assenters, the wife of Ian McKie, in fact, is NOT a member of UKIP. This has been confirmed by head office, and means that Diane’s paperwork wasn’t in order, did not meet the strict criteria set out from the beginning, and as such, just like Steven Woolfe, Diane James should NOT have been able to stand, and subsequently should NOT be out new leader.”

(We checked on this. Beecher is correct, McKie’s wife is not a member. Thus, Diane James has no legitimacy as Party Leader.)

“Our rules are there for a reason. Bending them for personal interest only goes to show that, through corruption, mismanagement, and the exploitation of incompetence, a handful of people are trying to turn our party into one that is like all the others.”

“We cannot allow a small handful of self-serving politicians or plain and simple negligence, or a power-hungry donor, destroy what so many passionate and decent people have achieved.”

“I will continue to fight against the poisonous elements trying to destroy UKIP from within, and will continue to expose the many cases of cronyism, hypocrisy, corruption, and indeed racism, until it can no longer be swept under the carpet.”

“I urge you to fully investigate this leadership election and to reconsider the legitimacy of Diane James’s candidacy and subsequent leadership.”

This is one of the most damning indictments of Ukip we’ve ever seen. It will be interesting to see how Ukip, and Diane James, spin this, her first crisis.

MERCHANT, Piers 21-Sept-2009 – IN MEMORIAM

Posted by Greg Lance - Watkins (Greg_L-W) on 21/09/2016

21-Sept IN MEMORIAM Piers MERCHANT – SIX YEARS ON!

———————————————-

———————————————–

Piers Merchant

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Piers Rolf Garfield Merchant
(born: 2 January 1951) & (died: 21 September 2009)
aged 58

Piers Merchant was a politician in the United Kingdom.
He was Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Beckenham, but resigned in October 1997.

Before he became an MP he was a journalist and marketing officer.

Merchant was educated at Nottingham High School and the University of Durham where he was Senior Man of University College’s JCR. He was first elected to the House of Commons at the 1983 general election, for the Newcastle Central constituency, he lost the seat at the June 1987 general election. He stood for Beckenham at the 1992 general election and won.

MPs cannot technically resign; instead he took the offices of Steward of the Manor of Northstead, which automatically led to his disqualification.

In the 2004 European Parliament election, Merchant stood for the UK Independence Party in the North East England constituency, at the top of their party list. He was not elected.

Piers Merchant worked for some years, in various capacities, for UKIP, having been at one time political advisor to Roger Knapman the UKIP leader during their sucessful 2004 election and also for a short time acted as UKIP General Secretary until a suitable individual could be found full time.

In 2005, Merchant relocated to Great Torrington in North Devon. Merchant is also a member of Mensa.

News

It is with regret that I inform you that in early July 2009 Piers was diagnosed as having advanced multi site metastatic cancer, the prognosis being bleak. His wife Helen supported by their two children is with him at this time. (07-Jul-09)

It is with regret that I inform you that on 21-Sep-2009 Piers Merchant died after a short terminal illness. The cause of death was multi site metastatic cancer.

Piers Merchant leaves his wife Helen and their daughter and teenage son. Piers had faced his illness with courage, supported by his family, and leaves many friends and colleagues, Piers’ brother will find it particularly hard as their Mother had died only a matter of a few months ago after a brief terminal illness, though at a much more acceptable age.

The EUroRealist movement has lost an indefatiguable campaigner and a well informed advocate, whose contribution in UKIP has been immense. He will be remembered with affection by his many colleagues in UKIP and before that from his days as a Conservative MP and before.

It is sad that his colleagues in UKIP did so little to defend his name when he was lied about and defamed by Mark Croucher, Douglas Denny and others who claimed he had betrayed the party by being Junius when clearly he was not nor ever wrote as part of that team as proven when he died. There were even lies put forward that he had tampered with UKIP web site to send copies of eMails to him for publication on Junius.

This was clearly all too typical of the dishonesty of UKIP’s leadership team and its odious claque of self serving low lifes.

Not ONE of UKIP’s leaders or followers spoke out in his defence, either before or after his demise!

My personal condolences to their children Alethea and Rolf and to his widow Helen Merchant (nee Burrlock) whom he married in 1977. Helen loyally stood by Piers throughout the visicitudes of a colourfull and productive life, whilst maintaining a high powered career in her own right.

Much of Piers’ life was was spent in service to British liberty and democracy, though he will be remembered by many for his colourfull private life – a life too soon lost!

Further details of his life can be found in The Telegraph if you CLICK HERE

In accord with Piers’ view of The EU –
Write Upon Your Ballot Paper at EVERY election:
LEAVE THE EU
to
GET YOUR COUNTRY BACK

It is terribly sad. Piers will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him, to whatever degree. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Nigel Farage Made Ukip But Clearly He Ensured Its Destruction Due To Ineptitude, lack of OQ & lack of leadership skills! Now they are battling it out as rats desert the sinking ship for control of the crumbs left behind in what they risibly claim to be a leadership campaign which is one long smear and squabble bringing what is left into disrepute!

Hi,

there are some plain to see and some very accurate comments in the following article, but it has completely overlooked the fact that though it may have been dependent on Nigel Farage’s schtick that was the driving force of the party and realisticly its only asset, it is that very schtick that has left them dead in the water without competence, charisma or anyone of leadership stature.

However as the party was dependent on one man who lacked fundamental OQ and was a catastrophic leader they were dependent on him to such an extent that they did not realise that those he appointed around him were largely social inadequates and scoundrels, who without his impramature on their appointment would never have risen from the gutter in which they belonged – hence the loyalty they had to give him to stay in position.

The list of excellent people who joined Ukip but were manoevered out to ensure no challenge is long, good men and women of ability and intelligence ganged up on, one by one, by the odious sewer rats Farage, with his particular brand of populism, gathered around him as they protected Farage to ensure tenurwe  of theirt position and frequently their over paid job. Jobs apportioned either by directly overpaying or by the dirt Farage held on them!

Thus it may well be recognised that it was Farage and his schtick that made the party but ultimately it is Farage who destroyed the party, which is lost without that particular schtick and populism asd there is absolutely no one of integrity, with OQ and leadership ability, to take over and build a real politicakl party out of the mess Farqage has causedf and left behind him.

We can expect Farage to return when he discovers he has no new home to go to – Germany are unlikely to grant him a passport as he has not fulfilled the required years of residence, America wouldn’t want him with his record as an underling with REFCO when its senior personelle would up in prison, when Farage has had speaking tours where he has spoken to empty halls save only when he was given a chance by supporting a bigger fish domicile in a bigtger gutter, once known as the Republican Party, a man who like the barbel is a bottom feeder who has even alienated the GOP in his scrabble for populism.

Look around and you will note how Farage, Nicola Sturgeon, Alec Salmon, Donald Trump and their i9lk have so clearly emulated the politics of Oswold Moseley as they pander to a failed underclass – who wish to blame their failure on anyone but themselves. Astonishingly Nigel Farage’s Ukip project failed to top the numbers Oswold Moseley reached as paid up members of his party – Farage failed despite giving free memberships and counting the dead to beat Moseleys Party membership!

Now we se the rats desrting the sinking ship of Ukip, but this is largely because there are only rats seeking their own gain left in the core of Ukip!

The ungovernables

Brexit achieved and Nigel Farage gone, little remains to unite the UK Independence Party

Sep 1st 2016, 16:26

IF NIGEL FARAGE detected a little bafflement in the crowd at the Coliseum on the matter of his identity and relevance to American politics, he did not let on. Donald Trump had invited the outgoing leader of the right-populist UK Independence Party (UKIP) to stump for him in Jackson, Mississippi. “I’ll keep it short,” Mr Farage assured his host, not quite off-mic, as he bounded onto the stage. “I come to you from the United Kingdom with a message of hope,” he gushed as his audience cheered (whoever this guy was, he sure seemed upbeat). Then they went wild for: “We made June 23rd our independence day when we smashed the establishment!” Mr Farage, without whom Britain’s vote for Brexit probably would not have happened, could not have been happier.

Back home, his party is in a bad way. Which is odd: UKIP has just altered the course of British history, has soared ahead in recent local government elections, is ideally placed to hassle Theresa May’s government to move harder and faster towards Brexit and stands on the brink of toppling the Labour Party, divided and incompetent, in its doughty northern English strongholds where working-class voters backed Brexit. Yet UKIP’s poll numbers are down: to 12%, their lowest since last year’s election, according to YouGov. Meanwhile the race to replace Mr Farage has been dismal. None of the party’s most impressive figures is a candidate and Diane James, the unremarkable front-runner, has refused to propose any new policies or attend hustings.

All of which exposes the underside of Mr Farage’s six years as leader, his second spell in the role. A talented rabble-rouser who has achieved more in the past few years than most cabinet ministers, UKIP’s former chief does not do computers (his wife sends e-mails on his behalf), people management or details. Raheem Kassam, a former aide, has described the party’s headquarters as “a fucking playground” where “we’d have to lock certain doors because the people behind those doors were too embarrassing to be seen”. As Mr Farage conceded to Bagehot when, last year, the two were barricaded inside UKIP’s Rotherham office by anti-racism protesters, the party has struggled to develop clear positions on subjects other than Europe and immigration.

Then there are the psychodramas. Mr Farage fell out spectacularly with his party’s only three other political talents fit for national prominence: Suzanne Evans (whose membership was suspended after she called him “divisive”), Patrick O’Flynn (a former political editor of the Daily Express) and Douglas Carswell (a libertarian who defected from the Tories in 2014 to become UKIP’s only MP). He also managed to alienate his party’s executives, who barred one of his preferred successors, Steven Woolfe, from standing because he submitted his application 17 minutes late. Mr Farage’s unhappy parting shot was to call them “among the lowest grade of people I have ever met” and “total amateurs”. Ms James, who has ended up as the candidate least hated by the Farageists, wants to call an extraordinary general meeting of the party to disband the executive committee if she wins.

She seems a capable manager—more so than Lisa Duffy, her main rival and formerly the hands-on UKIP mayor of Ramsey, a small town in Cambridgeshire—but would still struggle to improve things. For the party’s problems are deeper than they look. Populist political forces succeed by saying what their audiences want to hear and, as David Art, a political scientist at Tufts University, argued in his book, “Inside the Radical Right”, are thus fundamentally inimical to professional structures and processes.

his is more true of UKIP, whose sole unifying cause has been Brexit, than broader-based counterparts like France’s National Front, Austria’s Freedom Party and Mr Farage’s carrot-hued new buddy in America. Beyond leaving the EU, virtually nothing unites UKIP. The party is at once libertarian and authoritarian. It preaches individual freedom but contains admirers of Vladimir Putin. It wants to privatise the National Health Service, apart from when it does not. It has flirted with both a tax on luxury goods and deep tax cuts for the richest. It hems and haws on gay marriage, halal food and the burkini. It is vague about what sort of immigrants Britain should let in, and in what numbers. Even on the EU it is utterly divided: some (like Mr Carswell) want Britain outside the union to become a European Singapore, while others (like Aaron Banks, the forthright businessman who bankrolled the party’s pro-Brexit efforts) want something more like a return to the 1950s.

Making plans for Nigel
All parties, and especially populist ones, contain a range of views. Yet they tend to congregate around certain stretches of the political spectrum. Founded in pursuit of Brexit alone, UKIP has no such common ground. On sprawling, defining themes like the vocation of the state, the meaning of nationhood, the interaction of public and private spheres, and the roles of pluralism, globalisation and citizenship in modern societies it has no continuity and is irredeemably at odds with itself. That inhibits it from establishing and sticking to the sort of long-term strategy it needs to become and remain more professional.

This points to a grim cycle. The last time Mr Farage resigned, UKIP tumbled. For 11 ignominious months Lord Pearson, a languidly aristocratic former Tory, trashed his party’s prospects: in a television interview shortly before the 2010 election he appeared not even to have read its 14-page manifesto. All of which may now repeat itself. “One quite plausible possibility is we end up with a re-run of the Lord Pearson experience: a year or two of messy and incoherent leadership under a figure not cut out for the big leagues, then Farage comes back,” suggests Robert Ford, a UKIP expert at Manchester University. The fact is that UKIP’s weaknesses point to Mr Farage’s weird genius. Besides the quest for Brexit, his unique schtick was all the party had. Now, again, it may be its only salvation.
