Praise Indeed Tory Diehard Roger HELMER MEP Features Nikki SINCLAIRE Independent MEP & her You Gov Poll!

Amusingly he makes much of factions within UKIP and then goes on to show what an irrelevancy The Tories are claiming himself to be in one of the factions!

Hi,

I thought it might be a change to quote from Roger Helmer’s blog:

66% of Tories would vote to leave the EU

August 31, 2011, 8:49 am

A new YouGov poll shows a clear majority of voters in favour of leaving the EU: 52% want to leave, against only 30% who want to stay in.  Amongst Conservative voters, that ratio rises to 66 against 22 — a three-to-one majority.

The poll was commissioned by Nikki Sinclaire, a former UKIP MEP, now independent (and thus a standing monument to UKIP’s factionalism, which has seen several resignations from their MEP ranks).
Ms. Sinclaire may well have her own axe to grind — indeed she certainly does.
But nonetheless the poll was conducted by YouGov, no doubt with their usual impeccable professionalism, so I think we have to accept the result.

The poll also shows that 60% of the public (74% of Conservative voters) want an In/Out EU referendum, while only 25% (19% of Tories) don’t.

I put it to David Cameron some time ago that the great majority of Conservatives disagreed with his view that British membership of the EU was in our national interest, and that perhaps he as Party Leader ought to take this into account.
His reply was uncompromising: he didn’t want an In/Out referendum, because (again) he believed membership was in our national interest.

But you don’t have referenda merely to confirm your prejudices.  You have referenda to give the people their chance to have a say.  There’s something uncomfortably paternalistic in saying, in effect “I won’t let you have your say on this question, because you disagree with my settled opinion, and I happen to know that I’m right and you’re wrong”.

There’s me thinking I lived in a democracy, the wikipedia definition of which is:
“Democracy is a form of government in which all people have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives”

Comment by tonyegghead

Hi,

silly fellow – we shoot, bomb, maim and kill people in sovereign foreign Nations to force such a concept upon them.

The are obliged to accept OUR definition of a democracy down the barrel of a gun or be killed.
Britain on the otherhand is denied such a concept as it would overturn the corruption that is managed and controlled by the self serving politicians and their parasites.

… and you are still a Conservative? Funny how he was most insistent that we had a right to a referendum BEFORE the election.

Roger, given Cameron’s response, what have you actually done about it? If nothing so far, what are you actually going to do about it?
This blog post appears to be nothing more than another ‘tick in the box’, the latest in a long line of gestures that do nothing other than convince your supporters you are ‘sound’ on the EU subject. More people are beginning to ask, to coin a phrase, where’s the beef?
You like to highlight and explain things, so why not post a piece on here explaining to your supporters why you are comfortable with Conservative MPs who claim to be opposed to our EU membership voting in favour of integrationist measures in the House?
Are they just a faction, or are all Tories completely untrustworthy and impotent when it comes to doing what the people they represent want them to do?

Comment by Autonomous Mind

I’m somewhat taken aback by what comes across as a very aggressive attitude towards Roger.
You are referring to Roger supporting Chris Heaton-Harris and his initiative to promote an anti-EU group amongst tory MPs. You shot from the hip then without bothering to check your facts – are you now embarrassed by your journalistic failure and doing whatever you can to paper over the cracks?
I have in the past had respect for your blog – but I’m losing that, fast.
What exactly do you suppose Roger can do? It’s a matter of record that Roger has lost the whip in the past for his stance. He is a conscience politician who is not afraid to speak it like it is. But he’s not superman!

What should be obvious to you right now is that Cameron and Osborne do not listen to anybody so why moan at Roger because he hasn’t persuaded them to change their mind? What can he do that you can’t? Why haven’t you as an influential political blogger forced Cameron into an EU referendum? Where, Autonomous Mind, is your beef?

Comment by tonyegghead

I was about to reply, but Tony Egghead did already! You ask why I didn’t post a blog about the position of Tory MPs — but of course I did. Perhaps you didn’t read it? Se “True Believers”.
Comment by Roger Helmer MEP

Roger, this is what your government has approved and given permission for.
http://www.parker-joseph.com/pjcjournal/2011/08/31/esm-treaty-eu-commission-mafia-at-work/
You have to admit, this is corruption of democracy on a massive scale

Comment by Sue

How come politicians in government never seem to feel the breeze of public opinion wafting around their heads?
I am fascinated by the fact that oft times, said public opinion when as forceful as this, turns out to be right.

Let’s face it, is it likely that so many people could be wrong?
It only takes someone to formulate and present a plan for the safe and economically acceptable withdrawal of England (the UK?) from the EU and there would be even fewer dissenters to the idea of a referendum on the subject and fewer people who want to be European.

Comment by Heather Alibakir

Hi,

I wonder howmany remember the ‘trustees’ in Auschwitz – as Jews aiding their captors they survived for as long as they willingly filled and emptied the the ‘showers’ and the incinerators.
Perhaps they were hoping that the SS would have a change of heart in 40 or so years time!

It is now over 40 years since we first heard the mantra that ‘we mustn’t startle the horses’ and ‘we can change the party’.

I wonder how many others see something of a similarity!

The Tories even came up with the ludicrous slogan:
‘In EUrope but not ruled by Europe’.
I expect many of the ‘trustees’ had their cantors chanting:
‘In the gas chamber but not breathing’, for them!

Perhaps Helmer would care to tell us all EXACTLY what he has achieved in his 12 years as a Judas Goat.

We are all well aware of the very generous bribes and expenses he has received for doing his JOB in those 12 years.

Clearly he has utterly failed to convince EUroRealists, he has duped very few Eurosceptics and it is self evident that he and his cronies have achieved absolutely nothing to Leave-The-EU.

Unable to convince their own side it is hardly surprising they have failed to convince anyone else!
It is our own politicos and their hirelings and parasites in the Kleptocratic QUANGOcracy who are the Looters and OUR-ENEMY-WITHIN

Hi,

here is an interesting message regarding the You Gov Poll commissioned by The Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire whilst the rest of the MEPs were on holiday and as she presented her Petition for an In/Out EU Referendum having obtained over 100,000 signatures.

Signatures obtained despite the fact of the many Judas Goats urinating on the bushes to try to mark out a territory and save themselves the embarrassment of being shown for indolent self serving, smug, arrogant parasites gorging themselves at the expense of their country with their paid newspaper columns, funded lecture tours and other scams for self enrichment.

I gather the You Gov Poll has been sent to every single Tory MEP who are quite clearly self serving arrogant fools.

NOT ONE was democratically elected they were merely the only choice offered in a corrupt list system.

The message I gave to all Tory MEPs

Dear Colleagues,

I trust you had a good summer break.

You may have missed a YouGov poll that I commissioned a few weeks ago that showed for the first time a clear majority of the UK population (52%) wish to leave the EU with only 30% who would vote to stay in.

The question was independently set by YouGov. Please find attached the YouGov report.

As you embark on your parliamentary work you might wish to consider:
The breakdown from Conservative voters.
74% want a referendum
and
66% would vote to leave the EU
.

Regards
Nikki Sinclaire MEP

I trust this is of help to readers in the couse of identifying The Judas Goats that betray us in The Tory Party – OUR-ENEMY-WITHIN.

We still await the exact details of achievement towards LEAVING The EU that Roger Helmer claims for all his huff and puff and arrogant, smug self satisfaction.

EXACTLY what has YOUR Total failure cost the tax payers in bribes/salary and expenses for we seem no closer to the exit than when you first opened your EUI accounts and having failed to deliver honestly or competently started to stuff your accounts obtained under false pretences just like your chums elected to Leave-The-EU and minded 66% of ALL Tory voters wish to Leave-The-EU.

It does seem Helmer that you are just another oleaginous and duplicitous Judas Goat.

Indeed as YOU stated:

>>”Seems I just can’t win — except in elections.“<<

May I remind you Helmer YOU did not win an election – Your Party did, you are just a cypher.

Do also be minded that 66% of those votes wish to Leave-The-EU in what way would you claim your party/vehicle has acquitted its duty to the electorate?

Is it any wonder that the society has little but contempt for those looters like yourself and other parasitic fat cats drawing down huge amounts of money in return for their abject failure and thus betrayal.

Regards,
Greg_L-W.

IF YOU wish to support the concept of Leave-The-EU
Why not post your views on Roger Helmer’s blog:
Perhaps you would care to mail your contempt for the betrayal of these United Kingdoms and their electorate to the listed MEPs’ addresses above.

Petitioners push MPs to debate quitting EU after gathering enough support to trigger talks

Last updated at 11:43 AM on 9th August 2011

MPs could be forced into an historic vote on Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union after campaigners gathered enough supporters to trigger a debate.

A petition demanding a straight vote on whether the UK should stay in or leave the EU has attracted more than 100,000 signatures.

It comes as a new YouGov poll published today reveals for the first time that a majority of British people would vote to leave the EU if there was a referendum.
Forced conversation: MPs could be made to debate withdrawing from the European Union after a petition demanding a straight vote attracted more than 100,000 signatures

Forced conversation: MPs could be made to debate withdrawing from the European Union after a petition demanding a straight vote attracted more than 100,000 signatures

It found that some 60 per cent of voters want a referendum on whether Britain should remain a member of the EU.

If there was a vote, 52 per cent would vote to leave, with only 30 per cent preferring to stay in. Of those polled, 15 per cent were undecided and four per cent would not bother to vote.

EU membership costs Britain £48million a day – or £4,912 per household.

The last time the UK held a vote on Britain’s withdrawal from the EU was in 1975, when just over 67 per cent of voters chose to stay in the union following a national referendum.

Prime Minister David Cameron has promised that MPs will dedicate House of Commons time to debating any issue which has the support of at least 100,000 people.

The mountain of signatures has been gathered by independent West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire.
MEP: Nikki Sinclaire gathered 100,000 signatures by a mix of pen-and-ink and electronic means

MEP: Nikki Sinclaire gathered 100,000 signatures by a mix of pen-and-ink and electronic means

Miss Sinclaire said: ‘Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain.

‘It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project.

‘This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum.’

Miss Sinclaire has gathered 70,000 handwritten signatures as well as 30,000 electronic ones.

Last week, the Government launched a new e-petitions website which allows members of the public to set up their own petitions and sign existing ones.
It has paved the way for MPs to be forced into landmark votes on controversial issues including the death penalty, ending mass migration and legalising cannabis.

Commons leader Sir George Young has warned that MPs cannot ignore the popular groundswell.

But critics warned that the e-petitions would allow the Commons to be hijacked by special interest campaigns and will mean MPs spending precious Parliamentary time on proposals that have little or no chance of becoming law.

Miss Sinclaire fears that the Government will brush off her attempts to force a debate as most of her signatures have been gathered by hand.

However, Sir George has signalled that indicated that a traditional pen-and-ink petition could be lodged with the backbench business committee if it has one or more MPs sponsoring it.

The independent MEP will tell a London press conference today: ‘This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU.

‘To insist that only an online petition will count would disenfranchise millions of people, particularly the poor and elderly, who do not have an email account or access to a computer.
‘The huge response to our campaign, together with the findings of our poll, show that most people want their say.’

MOST VOTERS WANT BRITAIN TO QUIT THE EU, NEW POLL SHOWS

Tuesday August 9 2011 by Martyn Brown, Political Correspondent

MOST people would vote for Britain to leave the EU in a referendum, an independent poll reveals today.

In the biggest sign yet that public opinion is rallying against the UK’s membership, 52 per cent of voters said they want to leave the European Union.

Only 30 per cent said they wanted to remain in the EU, according to the YouGov poll.
And six out of 10 people want to have the final say on whether we pull out.

The poll compiled for the Campaign for a Referendum, piles further pressure on David Cameron to hold the first referendum on Europe since 1975.

Nikki Sinclaire, who runs the campaign, said: “This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU.

“Almost eight in 10 people want a national debate on the pros and cons of EU membership.”

ì
Only 30 per cent said they wanted to remain in the EU, according to the YouGov poll.
î
“The huge response to our campaign, together with the findings of our poll, show that most people want their say.”

The Independent MEP, added: “Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the Government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast-iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project. This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum.”

Analysis shows that EU membership costs Britain £48 million a day, which amounts to £4,912 per household over the last 11 years.

The results of today’s poll adds further weight to the Daily Express petition to force a Commons debate on leaving the EU.

All demands which get at least 100,000 signatures on the Government’s new e-petition site will have to be considered for a debate in Parliament.

Before the official launch of the site, the Daily Express had already gathered 75,000 signatures backing the call for a referendum which we established on our own website. We are pressing the Government to add those names to the official petition on its site, which itself is already approaching the 10,000 mark.

Readers who added their names to our original petition on http://www.express.co.uk can expect to receive an email in the next few days from the official e-petition site requesting their permission for their names to be added.

Just click on the link you receive by email and your signature will be transferred to the official Government petition.

Joining our campaign will force the country’s politicians to discuss an issue that is gathering momentum as Britain bails out failing eurozone states.

The Westminster Bubble had a rude awakening with The BBC desperately claiming it was looting and implying it was racial – TOTAL BUNKUM – almost as stupid as the comments of Ken Livingstone trying to make personal capital out of the mess Labour left!

Hi,

congratulations to Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire (UKIP member), her team and supporters.

Not only is their having obtained the 100,000 signatures as discussed by David Cameron and understood to be an undertaking of the coalition a tremendous achievement, but she has obtained more and the number will continue to rise.

That the advertisements in the various media and extensive publicity and the AdVans contributed to obtaining the required signatures does not detract from the capital investment and hard work required over the last year.

There is every reason to believe that this would have been mentioned in the bulk of papers on the front page though I gravely doubt that the Government went so far as to orchestrate the mob vandalism merely to keep the story out of the press! – though to listen to some in UKIP and Ken Livingstone one would think that the erruption of mindless scum hell bent on violence and destruction, with no intelligent motive was heaven sent as a stick to beat the Government.

Some may have sufficient memory cells to remember the glee with which they poo, pooed me when I predicted in the late 1960s, exactly this level of violence we have seen as likely in around 2000 – a comment I reitterated some 15 years ago – I was wrong on the date!

Many will remember that I was opposed to The EU as the further politicians and decision making was removed and the more important the type of person attracted to the new gravy train was allowed to believe they were, the more certain was the violent reaction and feelings of disenfranchisement of the under belly of society.

Sadly I was right.

YouGov‘s poll as commissioned and paid for by Nikki Sinclaire and her team shows just how disenfranchised the British peoples feel.

The sooner we reinstate democracy at Westminster the sooner we can start to address the problems – clearly as a vassal region of The EU the only possible solution is an increased level of state violence and control to hide the symptoms of the inevitable explosion to come!

Regards,
Greg_L-W.

Clean EUkip up NOW make UKIP electable!

.

The corruption of EUkip’s leadership,
their anti UKIP claque in POWER & the NEC
is what gives the remaining 10% a bad name!
.
~YouGov / Nikki Sinclaire MEP Survey Results!

I Believe This Is The First Poll EVER to show a clear majority for leaving with as high as 68% of Conservative voters wishing to leave.

Of all the regions of Britain only Scotland & London did not show a majority for leaving The EU.

In every sector – region, gender, age there was over 70% who wanted a greater national debate of the issues.

Only Scotland did not want a referendum and even there 49% did!

CLEARLY BRITAIN’S POLITICIANS ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF STEP WITH THE PEOPLE & Seem To Be Representing Their Own Interests At The Expense of Britain, our peoples and democracy!

Yes, there’s a growing UKIP threat to the Conservatives. But it’s got less to do with the EU than you may think

by Paul Goodman
Screen shot 2011-03-08 at 22.34.16 UKIP came second in last week’s Barnsley by-election with 12 per cent of the vote.  Nigel Farage has said that the party aims to displace the Liberal Democrats as the third force in British politics.  An Angus Reid post-Barnsley poll has shown it at 7%.  Populus has estimated it at 5%.  The estimable Anthony Wells of YouGov spotted rising support for UKIP as early as January.  At the last election, UKIP came in at 3%.
There are three main reasons why UKIP support can reasonably be expected to rise during the course of this Parliament (regardless of the AV referendum result).
  • The Liberal Democrats’ entry into government has left the party unable to compete, for the first time in modern history, for the protest vote.  (See the Barnsley result.)
  • The collapse of the BNP into a mass of squabbling factions, and its persistent legal and financial troubles, means that it’s a far less effective bidder for both the protest vote and anti-politics vote.  (See the Barnsley result again.)
  • This leaves UKIP as the main contender for both in England.  Farage seems to me to be a classic “marmite” politician – the kind one either loves or hates.  For bigger parties, this would be a problem.  For UKIP, as it attempts to define itself, this aspect of their party’s leadership is probably a net plus.  Farage fought a curiously lacklustre general election campaign against John Bercow (before that horrible plane crash).  But he’s an experienced campaigner who appreciates that UKIP needs to be more than a single issue party if it’s to win more support.  I’m curious to see how he plans to do so, since there are signs that he’s uncomfortable with the stress that Malcolm Pearson put on unambiguous – and inflammatory – anti-Islam campaigning.

So then: UKIP’s well placed to mop up more protest and anti-politics votes.  But does it pose a special threat to the Conservative Party and, if so, what should David Cameron’s response be?
To answer those questions, it’s obviously important to work out where UKIP’s votes come from in the first place.

  • One school of thought stresses that UKIP’s “core vote” is made up of anti-politics and protest voters.  That’s essentially the suggestion of research carried out by James Bethell.
  • A further view, set out by Dennis Kavanagh and Philip Cowley in their “The British general election of 2010”, is that “the party’s baseline vote does come disproportionately from those that vote Conservative”.

The latter note that the increase in the share of the vote in seats that UKIP contested in 2010, but not in 2005, rose by less than the national average of the Conservative vote.  Recent Angus Reid data suggests that former Tory voters may now be switching to Farage’s party.
Post-Barnsley analysis claims that 29 per cent of UKIP by-election voters previously supported Labour, while only 19 per cent had backed the Conservatives.  However, the bulk of the evidence suggests that to date UKIP has tended to draw more from the Tories than Labour.
So how should David Cameron respond?  The study that’s looked at UKIP voters in most detail appears to be Bethell’s, which found that –

“Surprisingly, perhaps, immigration is a higher priority for UKIP voters even than the issue of Europe, which comes in third. This was reflected in the focus groups we conducted. When asked why they voted UKIP, all of the participants said because UKIP was opposed to immigration. They were interested in the issue of Europe but they did not volunteer this as a key factor in deciding their vote.  One of the intriguing things from the focus groups, however, was the feeling that people are not necessarily voting for UKIP on immigration because they understand that free movement of labour across the EU leads to high levels of immigration. Many seem to vote UKIP simply because they think UKIP is opposed to immigration, which is a slightly different motivation. In other words, not everyone makes the intellectual leap that withdrawal from the EU would likely lead to a significant drop in immigration.”

So my view’s as follows

  • Making a special pitch for UKIP voters wouldn’t work for many of them.  Bethell’s research suggests that some of the “anti-voters” of which UKIP voters are a part will no longer heed the mainstream parties.
  • However, ignoring UKIP voters is risky too.  This is because Bethell’s research also finds that not all UKIP voters are permanently alienated from the mainstream parties.  If UKIP’s support continues to grow – as it can reasonably be expected to do – the shortcomings of a modernisation strategy which exclusively pursues better off and liberally inclined voters will become more apparent.
  • The key issue for UKIP voters is immigration.  If the Government lasts its full term, it needs to be able to point to success at the end of it in allieviating pressure on housing, schools, hospitals, transport and public services.  Bringing non-EU immigration down to the “tens of thousands” is therefore essential.  As for EU immigration, Ministers should be examining the radical ideas that have been floated by Nick Boles.

it is astonishing what a disaster Nigel Farage has proved to be in his pretence that he leads UKIP.

It has clearly been a case that Farage has ensured no one of competence, gravitas or probity has remained in UKIP to challenge him – it seems very clear that he has poisoned the party.

As proof of this whilst ComRes CLICK HERE shows the overwhellming majority of people wish to leave the EU and on many aspects of EU politics the British people wish to disassociate – yet the best UKIP have been able to achieve in a General Election has been 3.01%, it is hard to put forward any concept of success forward for UKIP being anything other than an abject failure.

We note that even after a prolonged period of near unchallenged publicity from Farage’s idiotic involvement in a light plane crash [For the report see CLICK HERE] the resignation of his risible puppet Lord Pearson, the comedic value of Mad Monkton to two tedious months of stultifyingly boring run up to his coronation Farage has made virtually no impression on the body politic as clearly the public do not give credibility to this foolish little man.

The proof positive of the unarguable fact that the public do not trust Farage is that although a huge tranche of the electorate do not expect the contrived coalition will survive and yet they are well aware that Labour, due to economic illiteracy and political incompetence have left us with £8 Trillion of unsustainable debt [For details CLICK HERE] Farage has led UKIP over 17 years to the huge total of 4% trust by the electorate.
By ensuring there is no one of any gravitas, competence or ability in UKIP and one only needs to note the undeniably trash that has floated to the top in UKIP – not a single individual ANYONE of integrity could or would respect. Hence a mere 4% support amongst the electorate.

Tim CONGDON BACKS THE PETITION & FEATURES FRONT PAGE!

Hi,

Tim Congdon has unequivocally endorsed THE PETITION for a EU-Referendum and features on the front page of a free distribution magazine being mailed out to between 20 & 30,000 activists, supporters and backers across Britain from the offices of Nikki Sinclaire MEP – this will do a great deal to firmly put UKIP on the map as a democratic party that can be trusted to endorse Patriotic issues not just self interest and navel gazing for the profit of the few.

Aspects of UKIP that Tim Congdon will do all he can to progress, moving away from the endemic corruption here to fore.
Britain is a cross party issue NOT a Dog In A Manger self enrichment scheme.
UKIP should be for and about Patriotism not introspective selfish Nationalism and personal profit for the few.
For more details of THE PETITION for an EU-Referendum and co-operation with The Pledge of the EU-Referendum Campaign CLICK HERE

Clear majorities of the British people want their country to leave the European Union.
A recent YouGov poll found that 47 per cent wanted the UK out of the EU, compared with 33 per cent who preferred to stay in.
Bizarrely, the latest Eurobarometer of public attitudes (financed by the European Commission) had earlier demonstrated a similar result. It showed that 33 per cent of its UK respondents regarded the EU as “a bad thing”, while 29 per cent viewed it as a “a good thing”.
The current widespread opposition to the EU is hardly surprising, as EU interventions in our national life are now disrupting longestablished traditions, undermining revered institutions and damaging livelihoods.
The Commission, the Council of Ministers and their secretariats have used the passage of the Lisbon TreatyWorking Time Directive on the efficiency of British medicine and the National Health Service last year as the pretext for further encroachments on the EU member states, including the UK. The last few months have seen a media furore over the effects of the
For many decades junior doctors have acquired experience – the experience which is essential if they are to be real doctors and not parrots of the textbooks – by working very long hours in real-world, often life-or-death clinical settings. Now, because of the Working Time Directive, they are prevented by law from this practice.
With lives being put in jeopardy by an EU directive, the puzzle is not that almost half of British people want to leave the EU, but why a third still believe in staying in. More and more people are angry and resentful about how EU decisions are affecting them in their daily lives.
There is a growing discrepancy between popular hostility to the EU and the willingness of successive British governments to hand over so-called “competences” to EU control.
This discrepancy is dangerous. When people believe that politicians are out-of-touch and untrustworthy, and ignore what they want, the risk of civil disobedience increases. In a modern democracy politicians must respect the wishes of citizens and voters. The case for a referendum on the UK’s continued membership of the EU is now overwhelming.
The 2009 Lisbon Treaty was undoubtedly a radical change in the constitutional arrangements of every EU member state, including the UK. All three of the main parties gave clear pledges in their manifestos at the 2005 general election to hold a referendum in the event of another big European constitutional upheaval.
Yet all three of them then judged that the Lisbon Treaty was not important enough to justify the holding of a referendum.

This is scandalous, an orchestrated insult to the intelligence of the British electorate. Britain must have a referendum on its membership of the European Union.

That referendum needs to be held as soon as possible, to stop more damage being done to our traditions, our institutions and our way of life.

To sign The Petition Right Away:
