Game Fair: Glastonbury for the green welly brigade

Attended by as many people as Glastonbury, the CLA Game Fair is a chance to champion all that’s great about rural Britain

CLA Game Fair: The annual rural event at Blenheim Palace attracts the same number of people at Glastonbury

CLA Game Fair: The annual rural event at Blenheim Palace attracts the same number of people at Glastonbury

It doesn’t seem possible. One of the highlights of the rural year is here again already – well almost. The CLA Game Fair will be held at Blenheim Palace, in Oxfordshire, next weekend. I will be there on all three days and I hope to meet as many readers as possible. I will spend as much time as I can on the stand of the Countryside Restoration Trust, although I ought to confess that on Friday 18 I shall be busy “networking” for much of the day – a deceitful way of saying that for some of the time I will be socialising, meeting old friends, eating, drinking and gossiping. Enjoying myself, in other words.

I also have to work for one hour on the Friday, between 11am and midday, when I am taking part in a debate at the Game Fair Theatre titled: “Would the countryside be better off if we left the EU?” It will be an interesting debate for me, the first time since 2008 that I will have met my old “friend” Nigel Farage, leader of Ukip– another panel member. In days gone by, Nigel pleaded with me to join Ukip; he was a guest at my wedding and visited Lark Rise Farm. When, in 2008, I was mysteriously disqualified from Ukip’s MEP selection process, I phoned Nigel, who blamed Ukip’s “political committee”.

At a public meeting shortly afterwards, the party chairman was asked who was on the political committee. He replied: “Nigel Farage.” With friends like that, who needs enemies? At the debate I shall be wearing a back-protector – I want to ensure that I can’t be stabbed from behind twice.

Interestingly, another who has benefited from Nigel’s “friendship” in a vaguely similar way in the past, and who has also been lost to Ukip, is Richard North, collaborator in all things nonsensical about the EU with the Sunday Telegraph’s stalwart Christopher Booker. What a loss for the sake of a political ego.

Even more interestingly, in 2008 Ukip was “green”. Since then it appears to have been “ungreened” by positioning itself well to the right of Margaret Thatcher on the free market and globalisation – presumably at the behest of the “political committee” again.

While at the Game Fair, visitors will be able to simultaneously celebrate another great event, “National Countryside Week” (July 14-20), started by the Prince’s Countryside Fund in 2010. Already it has raised nearly £4  million for rural-based enterprises and causes. If only more politicians would take the interests of the countryside as seriously as the Prince of Wales. Attendees will be able to “Walk a Country Mile” — any distance they like, in fact — to make a contribution to the Fund. More details on page 18 of Weekend, and in the special Countryside Week edition of Life tomorrow. There will be a celebrity walk too, with Alan Titchmarsh, England rugby captain Phil Vickery and J B Gill from boy-band JLS. Sorry, I can tell you nothing about JLS as I am stuck in the time-warp of The Wurzels – and proud of it.

*

The recently published impartiality review produced for the BBC Trust describes in a very restrained way how disgracefully the BBC regards the Game Fair and the Countryside Alliance. It points out that there will be about the same number of people attending the Game Fair as attend Glastonbury– the difference, of course, is that Glastonbury streams constantly through all the BBC’s main outlets for more than the festival’s three days, whereas when the Game Fair is in full swing, how many minutes will be broadcast by Countryfile, The One Show, the Today programme, Farming Today and so on “live from the Game Fair”? Let’s wait and see.

Yet, as the report says, millions are involved with country sports. There are 500,000 game shooters alone and two million hectares (nearly five million acres) actively managed for conservation because of shooting. Then there are the people the report does not mention – the beaters, the gamekeepers, the gunmakers, the butchers and the people like me who do not shoot but enjoy eating roast pheasant.

The report also mentions the “fraught” relationship between the Countryside Alliance and the BBC – and, of course, it is only “fraught” because so many BBC programme makers do not understand the countryside and have prejudiced, “townie” views concerning country sports.

In evidence submitted to the report, Steve Peacock, former editor of Farming Today and agricultural adviser to The Archers, sums it up best: “The BBC has got better about nations and regions, about ethnic minorities but not about including the rural dimension.” So much for the BBC’s take on the modern-day obsession with “equality and diversity”.

It still grates with me that both David Bellamy and I were erased from the BBC because of our support for the Countryside Marches organised by the Countryside Alliance (and our views of the EU). The irony is that neither of us hunts, shoots or fishes.

*

The Game Fairjust oozes the “real” countryside. There are so many brilliant artists and sculptors whose work can be seen there – Rodger McPhail, Ashley Boon, Simon Gudgeon and many more. Yet they too are often ignored by chunks of the mainstream non-sporting media who should be interested in their outstanding talent. Oh, I almost forgot the wonderful Tania Still, who painted the fantastic fox hound Corset, which I walked when she was a puppy. The incredible Corset, now 14 years old, is still alive and well and enjoying her retirement living with my sister Rachael. What a dog – sorry, hound. I deliberately leave my chequebook and credit cards at home when visiting the Game Fair so that I don’t act too impulsively when I see a picture I like.

Fly casting in the lakes and the activities in the main ring inevitably attract me. I love the parade of hounds, as well; the relationship between the huntsman and his pack is astonishing, as is the bond between man and dog. To me, as a non-hunter, the “hunting ban” remains an illiberal act of undiluted prejudice and shame. And now manufactured pressure is building up on shooting, too.

Then there are the terrier races, falconry displays and so much more. The Game Fair shows that, despite the urbanisation of Britain, and the BBC’s coverage of the countryside, the heart of the “real” countryside still beats strong.

*

Now I have a confession to make. In addition to the Game Fair, visiting Blenheim is almost like a pilgrimage for me. It is the original home of one of my favourite apples, the Blenheim Orange. The apple was found by a tailor named George Kempster, at Blenheim, in about 1740. He then grew it on from pips and, because of its outstanding taste, it quickly spread across Europe and America. When horticulturist and brewer Richard Cox later crossed it with a Ribston Pippin, it became the unbeatable Cox’s Orange Pippin – and our next crop looks promising in the garden, gales permitting.

Whilst on the subject of the countryside it is worth noting The Government Cabinet reshuffle – Owen Paterson must be very pleased to have been relieved of his role as Countryside Minister as he is no longer bound by Cabinet constraints and can take up his position as a leading EUroSceptic.
May I suggest, nay even hazzard a guess, that we may even see him ‘break cover’ shortly and position himself to lead the Leave-The-EU campaign in the referendum, which The Farage Cult are doing so much to damage, Owen paterson in place would of course silence Farage’s self serving and dishonest antics and with the well reasoned ‘EXit & Survival Plan’ as presented by FleXcit supporting him he would be in a good position to work towards a NO vote and implementation of Article #50 by the British Government to Leave-The-EU.

UKIP RUMOUR MILL – AS SO OFTEN IS WRONG!
All too often a symptom of a weak and venal leadership seeking to obfuscate the truth leaving concerned members to invent their own interpretations!

May I suggest if YOU wish to confirm the veracity of any rumour or claim you may hear that you check with this blog.

Clearly it is not in our interest to publish anything but the truth as the aim is to:
CLEAN UP UKIP TO MAKE IT ELECTABLE!

Hi,

yesterday afternoon I was mailed this by a contact who hoped I could pass it on to Junius:

I have been told by an ex-member who lives a long way away from me that ROBIN PAGE attended either the last NEC or a very recent one to put his case…….

Junius needs to ask questions of honest folk on this one.

My contact has always been honest, and is very hurt/damaged by the Farage +  cabal.

The person has never ‘gilded the lilly’ , if information is wrong someone has cleverly duped this person.

Is there a gradual move to bring some back ?  Does NF seek money / influence ?

Derek Clark will oppose this, he started the ‘shit list’ as Party Secretary and keeps his own records on this; working assisuously to maintain and grow it. He actually let slip  (unusual for him; as he virtually always maintained a sulkly sort of grumbling growling  silence )  at an EMCC around winter 05/06 in an unusual sort of wild eyed rant about his own role in setting it up/maintaining it himself.

Even innocent ordinary members who fell for the RKS charms ( mostly E.Mids)  have never been allowed back as Clark saw to the purge/deniel of membership renewel. That included 2 significient donors to his 04 victory.

As is my won’t I felt I should check the facts before I passed it on as it might well just be malicious gossip or factually untrue.

I am glad that I did not pass it on as fact to one of the Junius team.

Though there may be a smattering of truth the main item is unmittigated bunkum.

I have bothered to flag this up as this level of tittle tattle can be damaging to individuals.

I have checked with Robin Page this evening and he has asked me to advise any genuine EUroRealists that there is absolutely no truth in the claims as related to him.

No approach has been made to him by any NEC member and he has NOT been asked to rejoin the party or attend an NEC meeting.

Robin is mystified as to the purpose of this mischievous claim.

He has further stated that as early stated in this blog he WAS approached by Malcolm Pearson whilst UKFirst Party was still functioning with a request to amalgamate or rejoin UKIP, Robin declined the overture – but then again Malcolm Pearson was also involved with talks with The Jury Party and other non events and even advocated that UKIP supporters should support his chums in The Tory Party rather than support UKIP.

Malcolm Pearson not only proved to be a treacherous weak and self serving liar but a political buffoon.

Robin Page has made it abundantly clear that he has no desire to be associated with the corruption in UKIP as manifest by individuals like David Bannerman, Nigel Farage, Stuart Agnew and others – perhaps there are some UKIP members who have still not read Robin Page’s many column inches in the media making his position abundantly clear.

You are at liberty to check the FACTS for yourself.

You will also note that Robin Page spoke recently at a small UKIP meeting, against his better judgement, for Martin Harvey as a personal favour and as a friend of both Martin and his sister, of long standing. To avoid embroillment in the ‘political’ angst of UKIP you will note Robin left immediately after he had spoken.

I trust this clarifies the facts and puts paid to what would seem to have been a mischievous and unchecked rumour, that I have quashed as we have no way of knowing how wide was the distribution!

of UKIP’s Meeting Last Saturday in HERTFORDSHIRE & The NEC Meeting on Monday!!

.

~~~~~~~~~~#########~~~~~~~~~~
Hi,
I wasn’t going to bother with a follow up to my posting CLICK HERE as I only expected about 30 people to attend, but with Robin Page attending as the notable speaker this dragged the numbers up a little and I gather about 40 are claimed to have attended.
As one attendee told me ‘It looked like a normal UKIP meeting, an undynamic audience of almost exclusively elderly folk the men, on this hot day, in jackets and ties with their overly patched silver haired ladies teased out in rows’!
It was also noted by another attendee that as ever UKIP learns little and had in misguided optimism hired a large hall that swamped the tiny audience making the meeting look more of a failure than 40 people would normally indicate for UKIP!
It was good of Robin, if misguided, to try to bolster Martin Harvey’s meeting but he studiously stayed away from telling the truth about UKIP, mostly featuring his views on population – gypsies and their Pykie pals!, before shooting off to enjoy the weather – leaving the audience somewhat bemused by his avoidance of the facts regarding UKIP –
to leave Martin Harvey with his delusions that change can be effected in UKIP in tact.
A measure of just how on the pulse of the party Martin Harvey manages to keep was his utterly ridiculous outburst and abuse of Christopher Hudson for having left UKIP to join The Tories!
Where has poor old Martin been sleeping?
Christopher Hudson left UKIP when his membership came due for renewal two years ago. That he had never been prepared to stand against Tories during his service to UKIP or subsequently when he was Organiser for Ganley’s Pan EU Libertas Party!!
Bye the Bye – how come Martin Harvey didn’t notice Christopher was opposing UKIP having seen the light way back then!
Once Robin Page had spoken and left the meeting rather slid down hill and became yet more pointless as with the best will in the world – other than for his economic OPINIONS – who would cross the road to listen to the ‘dynamism’ of Tim Congdon or even more tedious Gerard Batten!
One has to feel sorry for the UKIP members with the clowns they have in their leadership team and its parasites. Liars, cheats, nebishes and low lifes almost without exception!
I note the following comments regarding UKIP NEC meeting later today:
  1. Default Tomorrow’s NEC
    Hopefully Steve Crowther has a lawyer at his elbow tomorrow and resists the efforts of Farage and Nuttall to push Crowther into the mess they are trying to offload onto him. No wonder Crwother is keen to bring back Nikki Sinclaire into full standing with the party.
    Meanwhile Batten and AN other is coming under pressure to leave the Farage group which would finish him off.
    Stuart Wheeler is oressing for all MEPs to make a contribution to the party out of their recently increased salaries.If Nuttall and Farage keep playing games with Wheeler,he will chuck it.
    Ha Ha ex-member!
    Farage will totally dominate the partially evolved idiots he has appointed to the NEC. But of course Farage himself is a Fecking Ijeet. He may find himself screaming for financial help to fight his legal nightmares – as usual!
    I very much doubt Farage will attend the NEC as he will have his impramature all over it but as ever he will ensure his fingerprints can not be displayed.
    Farage will have set up his muppets and puppets to do his bidding and there are already indications of the way it will go leaked accidentally by fools like Mick McGough whose comments on Butcher’s UKIP controlled Forum run a closer second in stupidity to his comments on UKIP.org.UK.
    McGough repeatedly brings UKIP into disrepute as he does being their representative at the CIB and a regular hanger on at The Freedom Association.
    Just WHO is there in UKIP leadership of ANY Gravitas, credibility or political nouse?? Sadly there seems to be absolutely no one of substance merely a few sound bites, many of which are completely out of control.
  3. #3
    Moderator Richard Allen is a jewel in the rough Richard Allen is a jewel in the rough Richard Allen's Avatar
    The idiotic party leadership truly are in a complete mess on this issue. If they had any sense what so ever they would be looking for a face saving retreat but no doubt they will keep on digging.
It is also noted that in this thread was the comment that Stuart Wheeler was expected to call on UKIP MEPs to show their belief in UKIP and maker substantial donations from their newly increased salaries.
Having read Stuart Wheeler’s book ‘A Crisis of Faith’ – I have a feeling he is heading for another! Little wonder that the UKIP controlled Forum Anthony Butcher owns has removed the posting to prevent the inconvenient truth that UKIP MEPs do NOT donate their money except to enhance their own PERSONAL profiles to seek renewed election!
Wake up folks – YOU are being conned by a bunch of two bit chavs.
There would seem to be absolutely no record of a donation by a UKIP MEP that was not out of PERSONAL interest to BUY gain!
Compare the records of ALL The UKIP MEPs with that of the INDEPENDENT MEP Nikki SINCLAIRE whose accounts are published showing the size and diversity of her donations from personal income – Note also that Sinclaire is personally funding the Nationwide Petition for an In/Out Referendum.
I wonder will Stuart Wheeler have the intelligence to realise he is being duped and the courage to admit it and walk away – I doubt it based on his track record, this man made his money as a professional gambler and chucked £5M at the Tories without ANY rational controls and then went on to loose over half of his fortune when called on to use his business acumen!!
Has Stuart Wheeler the integrity to act and admit yet another ‘Crisis of Trust’ when he realises he has yet again been taken for a fool?
~~~~~~~~~~#########~~~~~~~~~~

Hi,

I need add no details to this essay about UKIP written by a member in despair or a member of staff in disgust – well in fact BOTH.

It reads so similarly to so many other such essays of personal first hand experience & knowledge – it is unsurprising to the informed that essays as with this one, that of John Petley, Richard Suchorzewski, Niall Warry, Marcus Stead and many more I have read that never reached the public domain, such as that of Robin Page, Dr. Eric Edmond, Dr. David Abbott, Geoffrey Kingscott, Roger Knapman and more.

They all neatly dovetail together. Each has a similar tale, each substantiating and corroborating the other.

Sadly I am in a position to confirm virtually every material detail AND MORE! Even sadder is the fact that this was written a couple of years ago and is at least as bad now if not worse. UKIP WAS at one time OUR Lifeboat but with its rotten planking, self serving and self enriching crew, literally £Millions seemingly gone missing unaccounted it is as the essayist states quite clearly at the end ‘UKIP has had its chance and blown it’.

I believe there are areas that UKIP has totally misunderstood and lacked the basic common sense or leadership to present in any plausible way and with the dividive and utterly incompetent lack of leadership the wreck has been largely self induced!

UKIP IS TO BE “PROFESSIONALISED”?
I AM REMINDED OF THE WORDS OF ONE OF THE LAST PEOPLE BROUGHT IN TO PROFESSIONALISE THE PARTY. JOHN PETLEY John was a good man, and a dedicated UKIP activist (and candidate), who learned at first hand what it means to be close to the dishonourable piece of self-serving slime that is known as Nigel Farage.
What has gone wrong? A number of things, and binding many of them together is a common thread – the failings of the current party leader, Nigel Farage.
The Farage problem – a personal perspective on a flawed personality
Many past and present UKIPpers started off initially impressed with Nigel Farage. My personal route from awe to disgust of the man is in a sense unique, but in other ways typical of what so many past and present UKIPpers have gone through. The first UKIP speaker I heard was Jeffrey Titford, at a Democracy Movement meeting in St. Leonards, East Sussex. He seemed to be talking sense, and I was reasonably impressed.
On mentioning this to members of the local branch, the response from I received was, “Wait until you’ve heard Nigel Farage.”
I was able to hear him a few months later in nearby Bexhill, and found his direct, hard-hitting style quite exciting and refreshing – a contrast from most politicians in the three established parties. When criticism of Roger Knapman began to surface following the triumphs in the 2004 European Parliamentary elections, I picked up the feeling that many members at the time wanted to replace him not with Kilroy but with Nigel, feeling that a dynamic young leader would restore the momentum that we seemed to be losing.
I would never have supported the removal of Roger. I felt that he was underestimated by the membership. (and having subsequently got to know him through working in Brussels, I believe this assessment was correct.) However, looking to when his term of office was to end, I would then have supported Nigel for leader. He seemed the rising star – the obvious heir apparent.
Amidst all the adulation, the first criticism I first heard of Nigel was at a UKIP SE activists’ meeting from a member of a branch from Kent, who said he had a big ego. Until this point, the only negative thing I had heard about him was that he had not denied visiting a brothel in (I think) Athens. My contact with him had been quite limited before starting in Brussels. He had struck me as “rather a lad” who liked his booze and fags, but I knew that I should not expect a politician necessarily to adhere to my Christian standards. I was looking forward to getting to know him better when I started my new job in Brussels, and felt rather in awe of him.
Within a couple of months, my view of him had begun to change. There were several reason for this.
Firstly, when he came to be the guest speaker at the annual dinner of my local UKIP Branch, Bexhill and Battle, his speech was disappointing. It was all about himself, and was a regurgitation of anecdotes I had heard before.
Secondly, there were further rumours of his sexual impropriety, including that he was having an affair with Annabelle Fuller, one of my colleagues in Brussels at the time, who subsequently achieved such notoriety in the UKIP press office. More serious was the fact that cronyism rather than competence seemed to be what counted. Brussels was very much Nigel’s empire, as he had been there as an MEP since 1999, was head of the UKIP delegation and co-president of the Ind Dem group.
He had considerable say in who joined the staff, and what their roles were to be. The then head of research, Adrian Muldrew, was complaining repeatedly about the low quality of work produced by two of the staff – one being Annabelle Fuller and the other Steve Reed, his current office assistant of whom more anon.
David Lott, Chief of Staff and very much Nigel’s man, refused to take any action, and actually turned against Adrian. This seemed very odd. as I had been taken on ostensibly as part of a move to “professionalise” the party.
At this time, I first heard about the questions being asked about the South East region accounts. Another colleague of mine told me that he would never give any money to a general UKIP appeal because he had no confidence where the money would end up.
Although shocked by all this, I took the Biblical attitude of not wanting to believe an accusation unless there were two or three witnesses, I didn’t have to wait long for further evidence. A chance conversation with UKIP’s previous Head of Staff (i.e. before David Lott), confirmed the essence of what I had been hearing, and added that Nigel had been a factor in every major UKIP bust-up since the departure of Alan Sked.
The failure of UKIP Part 2
By the summer recess of 2006, a mere seven months since coming out to Brussels, I was now firmly of the opinion that Nigel Farage was a liability to the party. I had met some of the other notorious Farage cronies like John Moran, and was not impressed. I also heard from a colleague about a conversation between Farage and Gerard Batten shortly before the Bromley by-election.
It transpired that Farage had discussed a deal whereby if the Tories selected the Eurosceptic but not withdrawalist MEP Syed Kamall as their candidate, UKIP would not put up a candidate. On hearing of this, Gerard was incensed and said, “If you don’t stand, I will.” As it happened, the Tories chose Bob Neill, and with Gerard being the ultra-loyalist that he is, he chose not to leak this out. Nigel then announced at a big UKIP meeting the following weekend about how excited he was at being able to contest another by-election. Most people cheered. I was livid.
I did not vote for him as party leader, but for a while it seemed that I would have to swallow my misgivings, as in the first few months of the Farage leadership, the party acquired two Lords, then the economist Tim Congdon and several other significant Eurosceptics. A year later, I was to discover that this new sense of hope in the party was not matched by the opinion polls. UKIP slumped to below 1%, and the start of the slump coincided with Farage’s election as leader.
I had heard of Farage’s habitual lying, but had first hand evidence of it when NEC member David Abbott’s two inadvertant $100 donations to a BNP support group in America was blown up in the national media in March 2007 simply because of David’s criticism of Nigel’s leadership. Before standing for the NEC, David came quite clean about this donation, which he had made before realising who the organisation represented.
He did not want to stand for office if it would compromise him. Being so insignificant a sum, a one-off and inadvertent, Nigel and others said it was not a problem. However, when David began to start opposing Nigel on the NEC, Nigel deliberately leaked this out to he press and made it out that David had been seriously involved with the BNP. When I challenged Nigel, saying that either he or Mark Croucher were ill-advised to have done this, his reply was “Neither I nor Croucher contacted the Press.”
The Press had also spoken to a person I know (whose identity I should keep confidential) who has held senior office in the party about the David Abbott business, and this person told me that when the reporter concerned rang up, he said, “I’ve just been speaking to Mark Croucher.”
Perhaps I should add that this exchange occurred when Nigel summoned me into his office and questioned me about my friendship with Adrian Muldrew. Adrian was by now absolutely persona non grata with Nigel, but a few months earlier, Adrian had kindly offered me a home for a couple of weeks when there had been a temporary delay in moving into new accommodation in Brussels. I had left Adrian’s house quite a while before my interview with Nigel, but what business was it of his anyway?
Being summoned into Nigel’s office was by now an ordeal which I dreaded. I had to summon up my best acting skills and always stared him straight in the eye. He often shuffled his legs up and down under the table – a sure sign that he wasn’t comfortable either. Some times, it was nothing to worry about, and he was usually pleased with he research I did for him.
However, once he came into my office and ranted at me because I had contacted Mike Nattrass (whose assistant I was for a while) about a dubious amendment to a piece of Parliamentary legislation put forward at Committee stage by Jens-Peter Bonde, Ind Dem Co-president, in the name of the group.
Adrian had spotted this and said that UKIP MEP’s couldn’t support it, as it was giving more power to the EU (I can’t remember the exact details beyond this) I thought I had better tell Mike, and Mike must have contacted Nigel, who then stormed in and said, “But we always vote against this in Plenary.” I guess Nigel knew I wasn’t happy with UKIP MEP’s being in Ind Dem.
The failure of UKIP Part 3
It was not just over Ind Dem that I disagreed with Nigel’s policy. He spoke at Hastings in November 2005 and said something on the lines of, “Well, UKIP isn’t getting much exposure because the EU isn’t in the news much now, but just wait – it’ll be back on the agenda.”
He was proved right with a vengeance when the failed Constitution metamorphosised into the Lisbon Treaty, but he singularly missed the opportunity to put UKIP at the head of the campaign to oppose it. It was always going to be a tough battle to stop the treaty, but it would have put the party back in the consciousness of the electorate. Instead, it was left to an ordinary Party member to launch the “Parish Polls” initiative.
On the day of the mass lobby of the House of Commons, Farage was in Brussels. This missed opportunity, for which he must take the blame, must represent UKIP’s biggest political mistake in its entire history.
I had the task for the last year of answering difficult e-mails sent to Head Office in Newton Abbot. I always took the party line, even if I was personally uncomfortable with it, such as over Nigel’s defiance of the Parliament’s smoking ban and support for pro-smoking groups.
Only once, when I was forwarded a query about Derek Clark signing Ind Dem’s “Bucharest declaration” on UKIP’s behalf with its support for subsidiarity and CAP reform did I deviate from this rule, and simply passed it to Ind Dem enthusiast Gawain Towler to answer. I felt this e-mail was a poisoned chalice. If I took the party line, not only would it sit uneasily with my conscience, but it could be held against me if at a later date (as I hoped) UKIP would renounce Ind Dem.
However, if I had said what I felt – that I agreed with the e-mail, that the signing was a mistake and that UKIP’s MEP’s should not be in Ind Dem – Nigel would have gone ballistic if he had found out. Fortunately, Gawain never followed up my reasons for passing this e-mail on, so I lived to fight another day.
Nonetheless, By the summer of 2007, I felt that I was living on borrowed time. In many ways, I am amazed I lasted so long. I ensured that no-one was around when I rang any known opponents of Farage in the UK, and he never knew just who I knew. I always kept my office door closed, and fortunately, the enthusiasm of Farage and his cronies to go off most evenings drinking in O’Farrell’s (the Irish pub very near to the Parliament building) meant I had some privacy.
By this time, staff and MEP’s were split down the middle. Farage supporters, notably Gawain and the odious Aurelie Laloux (Jeffrey Titford’s assistant) held the senior positions among the staff. When Aurelie went off for maternity leave, things improved somewhat, but her return signalled the start of three awful months.
The atmosphere in the office from February 2008 to my departure in April gave me an inkling of what it must have been like to live in the Soviet Union – You were always watching your back and every pair of footsteps outside the office door made you feel uneasy. So bizarre that fellow-withdrawalists should be the cause of such a poisonous atmosphere. I have to say that in over two years working in Brussels, I had no animosity from the “nasty” EU. UKIP staff were treated fairly.
My dismissal shows the utterly devious nature of Farage. He was not directly involved, but his fingerprints are all over it. It all began on Monday 7th April after the “Stop the Treaty” conference in Bristol which I went to. When I got back to Brussels, I tried to access my parliamentary e-mail account, but was unable to do so.
I entered the password about 10 times, but was repeatedly blocked. I know that I did not type in my password incorrectly. Having worked in IT before going into research, I knew hacking when I saw it. The hacker had, fortunately, failed to guess my password, but had locked me out. I spoke to Oumar Dombouya, the man delegated to manage IT affairs for Ind Dem. He re-set my password and set a monitoring facility on my account, as Adrian had had a similar problem, and suspected hacking.
On Thursday afternoon (10th April), Graham Booth came into my office with a print-out of the names, subjects and dates of the e-mails I had sent in recent weeks. He asked me to print out the contents of four of these. After he had left the office, I looked at a couple of these e-mails, and as I was doing so, the access to my e-mail account suddenly went down. When I eventually was able to bring up the initial screen and try to sign on, once again, I was locked out, just as I had been the previous Monday.
I subsequently discovered that it is within the rules to print out the list (although not the content) of the e-mails sent by EP staff without asking them. However, I did not know this at the time, and refused to take Booth ‘s word that this was the case or provide him with the content of these e-mails until I could establish the facts. In view of my suspicions about someone trying to tamper with my e-mails, I think this was quite reasonable.
However, his response to my refusal my saying that in his eyes, this amounted to a “lack of trust” in me, This was the catch-all phrase that can be used to dismiss staff if you don’t like them but can’t find any good reason for so doing. I had always got on fairly well with Graham until then, and I know Nigel set him up, because he expressed a very negative opinion of one person to whom these e-mails were sent (a branch chairman in the South East) and when I contacted this individual, he said that he had never had any dealings with Graham. Only Nigel could have singled out this e-mail.
Oumar was very helpful initially to my attempts to find out who had been hacking into my account. He traced it to a UK-registered machine (no surprise!) but could not go any further because of intimidation by members of the Ind Dem secretariat. He subsequently kept his distance from me, simply out of fear.
My dismissal was e-mailed to me on Thursday 24th April. This was a Strasbourg plenary, and I was teleworking at the time. Quite honestly, it was a relief not to have to go back to Brussels. It amazed me to hear that Graham Booth had been going round the South West telling people that I (along with Adrian Muldrew and Gary Cartwright) were MI5 spies! Meanwhile, Steve Harris, (UKIP’s SE regional organiser) again no doubt mouthing Nigel’s words, has been telling people in the South East that my dismissal was because I was hacking into other people’s e-mails!
The failure of UKIP Part 4
My desire to see Nigel removed as leader is not a case of sour grapes because he sacked me. He sacked me because I already held this opinion, and I am not very good at hiding my feelings. I remember having a conversation with Roger Knapman outside his office, and said something about, “the days when we had a decent leader.” At that moment, Nigel came up the corridor. He can’t fail to have heard what I said.
Only in one way has my opinion changed since my dismissal. I believed right up to early November that if Nigel could be removed as leader, UKIP would have a future. The November NEC meeting was a watershed.
It is clear firstly that removing Nigel Farage as leader is going to be very difficult.
Secondly, that even if it could be done, it would not be enough – his cabal have to go too, and as names like Zuckerman are unknown to many members, it would be hard to press the case against them. Farage’s dealings with me bear the marks of a tyrant.
He brings out the worst of those that get close to him – Graham Booth’s behaviour over my dismissal illustrates this perfectly. At the same time, he tries to destroy anyone who opposes him. The party is now in the grip of man who I can only describe as evil.
The poison emanating from him has so ruined the party that it is not a case of merely removing him as leader – his political career must be ended in June 2009. If the only way of doing this is to take UKIP down with him, so be it. The withdrawalist cause needs a more honourable spokesman and a better party to fight its cause.
Farage more than anyone else is responsible for giving UKIP such a poor image that it has become a bit of a joke. I now no longer have any pride at being a member, but rather embarrassment. My UKIP car sticker has been removed a long time ago now. As we move on to look at the other aspects of why UKIP has failed, his name will come up again and again. His personal failings, which I have described above, are coupled with exceedingly poor political judgement and a disastrous policy in Brussels.
Playing on innocence
Many of those who joined UKIP, myself included, were new to politics. We could see that being in the EU was not in Britain’s best interests, but did not necessarily combine this piece of wisdom with political discernment. I would guess I am not alone in admitting that at one point, I believed two things I now regard as erroneous – firstly that anything in print that says something bad about the EU must be correct, and secondly that anyone opposed to Britain’s membership of the EU must be a good chap. I will address the first of these mistakes later on. It is the second I want to concentrate on at this point.
Nigel’s shrewdness has enabled him to carve out his power base in the party. His youth and eloquence have made him a hero with many party members. Steve Harris once told a meeting at which I was present of a phone call were someone asked him, “When is that young man going to become Prime Minister?” I have no reason to doubt that Steve was telling the truth. It epitomises how Nigel has played on the innocence of many party members.
They have not had sufficient experience to spot when his leadership has been poor. He would not have dared depict the dressing up in chicken costumes of three members of staff in Strasbourg on the front of Independence unless he was sure that his adoring fans would think it was a wonderful gesture rather than the appalling schoolboy buffoonery that the rest of the world viewed it as.
He has been able to gain total control over UKIP’s media. “You don’t work for the party, you work for me,” he told one employee in the Press Office. That admirable quality of trust which is a feature of so many UKIP members has enabled him to turn the Independence into a very one-sided view of things. Our dear. loyal members are not aware of the control he has carved out for himself. He has marshalled party opinion behind him by equating opposition to himself with “attempts to destroy the party.”
From now on, sadly, this will be the case, and those of us who have come out publicly against him are likely to face all manner of vitriol not just from the Faragistas, but from well-meaning members who have been denied the chance to hear both sides of the argument. The suppression of dissent is not healthy in a political party. It leads to “yes men” ending up in senior positions – a sure recipe for disaster.
The failure of UKIP Part 5
The Brussels disaster.
One blogger recently mocked UKIP by saying how ridiculously inflated the role of an MEP had become in the party. Other parties don’t send out their first XI to Brussels, but being an MEP gives you almost god-like status among some sections of the membership of UKIP.
The big point of disagreement I would have with this statement is that UKIP has most definitely NOT sent out its First XI to Brussels. Nigel was unable to stop London choosing the hard-working and honest Gerard Batten for the No. 1 spot, nor to stop Roger Knapman being elected in the South West. However, his objective of ensuring that he ended up with a team of which he would be the star was, to a degree, successful. The result has been an unmitigated disaster.
I have referred to the innocence of many party members. The idea that the MEP lists were manipulated would never have crossed most of our minds back in 2004. Nigel had to be careful because he had already built up a structure in which the party’s MEP’s would operate, and better to have someone unsuitable but who would not ask questions rather than a competent individual who, besides challenging Nigel’s pre-eminence, might ask too many questions, especially on financial matters.
In the five years from 1999 to 2004, he had made the acquaintance of people like Jens-Peter Bonde – a past master at making money out of Euroscepticism. The Ind Dem Group, like its precursor EDD, is a fairly loose coalition of assorted Eurosceptics from both the left and right of the political spectrum who have joined together purely for the financial benefit of being in a group.
UKIP are the only withdrawalists in this group – a fact that has raised eyebrows on several occasions when I have mentioned this to party members. Ind Dem has encouraged a culture of financial secrecy, and Farage has bought into this. His reluctance to be open about his financial matters has brought the party into disrepute, and already the Lib Dems are attacking UKIP on the doorsteps saying they have “gone native.” Financial issues are likely to be an increasing embarrassment to UKIP in the run-up to June 2009.
It is not just the financial issues that have contributed to the disaster of UKIP’s MEPs in Brussels – there have been all too many instances of poor, ill-prepared speeches. Graham Booth’s setting himself up as an authority on climate change on the strength of an “O” level in astronomy has been an embarrassment. I have written speeches for some MEP’s and have seen them mutilated and spoilt by the MEP in question. Sometimes, it has been an embarrassment to listen to them in the Plenaries.
There have been exceptions, notably Roger Knapman, who ensures his speeches are well-written, and Gerard Batten, who always writes his own speeches after careful research. Sadly, however, Godfrey Bloom’s infamous speech in 2004 about women cleaning behind fridges has set an all-too-common precedent.
The press have been all too ready to pounce on bad behaviour by UKIP’s MEP’s. Tom Wise was unfortunate to be duped by an undercover reporter on the subject of MEP’s allowamnces. Nigel was lucky that the occasion when he was so drunk in a bar Strasbourg that he had to be carried out did not receive more coverage than it did.
Besides the MEP’s, the staff have not always delivered the goods. All too many of Gawain Towler’s press releases have been bad to the point of embarrassment. I was asked once to write a press release. Gawain’s editing of it included replacing one word with another meaning the exact opposite! While I cannot prove this, I would suspect that some 90% of press releases would have gone straight into the editors’ wastepaper bins.
On another occasion, at a meeting of a think tank in Brussels where the guest speaker was Dan Mitchell, a senior fellow of the Heritage Foundation, an American think tank Gawain turned up seriously drunk. He introduced me to this man (I had yet to fall out of favour at this time) but I was acutely embarrassed. Gawain has also admitted to me that he has smoked over 100 joints!
Aurelie Laloux is another disaster. She was taken on by UKIP in the 1999-2004 Parliament because of her excellent linguistic skills, as only in 2004 was English placed alongside French in official Parliamentary communications. Her political judgement is less acute, and had led to some very bizarre voting lists being produced which UKIP’s enemies like Labour MEP Richard Corbett have been delighted to publish.
When there was a debate on the Lisbon Treaty at Strasbourg in early 2008, the Green group (or was it the Communists?) proposed a “rejection amendment” – i.e. that the treaty should be rejected. Aurelie’s voting list, prepared for UKIP’s MEP’s, did not have us supporting this amendment. She has also been responsible for choosing which debates UKIP’s MEP’s will speak in. Her choice has been quite bizarre at times, giving the speechwriters (such as myself) the challenge of preparing speeches offering very little opportunity for the MEP to make any telling point, as the debate may have been on something quite obscure – such as updating EU air traffic agreements with countries in North Africa to include the new member states.
As for Nigel’s assistant Steve Reed, he deserves a chapter to himself. We will look at him under the heading, “Professionalising the Party?” His voting lists can be a bit bizarre, and unlike Aurelie, he cannot plead the excuse that he is not working in his mother tongue.
The philosophy is that UKIP must vote against and speak against everything. What happens when the EU proposes something that will actually command widespread popular support, such as the forced reduction in mobile phone roaming charges? Credit where credit is due from the strongly Eurosceptic former DUP MEP Jim Allister, who said, “It makes a pleasant change to welcome a piece of EU legislation.
The enforced reduction in mobile roaming charges is good for consumers across Europe.” However UKIP had to find something negative, such as the fact that the main beneficiaries would be people like MEP’s themsleves who make many international calls on mobile phones. While it is true that the mandate for UKIP’s MEP’s mandate is never to vote in favour of any EU regulation, if there is likely to be strong popular support for individual moves, it is surely better to abstain, or at least keep quiet, and keep the powder dry for the really serious issues.
I have not mentioned the corruption aspects and the ongoing investigations by OLAF – the EU Anti-fraud watchdog – into Ind Dem (including some UKIP MEP’s and staff), but this has done nothing to help the party, and what may come out, paricularly regarding Nigel and David Lott, could be quite embarrassing. However, one must not pre-judge.
Few UKIP MEP’s have availed themselves of the opportunity to used the Brussels staff for serious research. Gerard Batten is an honourable exception, with the excellent How much does the EU cost Britain? Booklets, which are updated each year. Apart from this, only Tom Wise, whose assistant Gary Cartwright produced the fisheries booklet, and Roger Knapman, have this far shown any interest in this important area. For seven MEP’s therefore, an excellent opportunity has gone begging.
Hard though it is to say it. the UKIP team, both MEP’s and staff, convey the image of a bungling bunch of amateurs. There are some honourable exceptions, and I have tried to highlight these. I would strongly refute any suggestion that UKIP’s disaster in Brussels has been because “they knw we don’t like the EU.” Yes, it is true that the Parliament’s president shows more leniency to pro-EU MEP’s than to UKIP when their speeches overrun.
This apart, I would say that the disaster has been self-inflicted and would have been avoidable with a better calibre of both MEP’s and staff. Perhaps the best illustration of the disaster UKIP has turned into is the infamous “Chicken Costume” incident in Strasbourg earlier this year. I can vouch for this being Nigel’s idea.
When the three staff members (Gawain Towler, Paul Nuttall and Ralph Atkinson) were escorted from the area near the Hemicycle by the security staff, it led to a very heated but almost surreal press conference, firstly with Gawain (still in his costume minus the chicken head!) and then Nigel, complaining bitterly to the media that the reason we were being treated unfairly in not being allowed to parade around in these outfits was because we opposed the Lisbon Treaty.
What noinsense! No wonder the rest of the European Parliament saw UKIP as a bit of a joke.At least no MEP had dressed up, although only because Gary Cartwright and I had been able to work on the wife of one MEP to persuade her husband not to be a chicken – he had originally volunteered for this ridiculous stunt!
The failure of UKIP Part 6

An unconvincing domestic agenda.
UKIP has always professed to be a fully-fledged political party. It has produced manifestos which range over a number of domestic issues besides withdrawal from the EU and areas with strong EU links, such as immigration. However, right up to and beyond the 2005 General Election, in spite of the manifesto produced for that occasion, UKIP was perceived not only by the public but by many members as essentially a single-issue party.
My experience standing for the party in Lewes at that time was fairly typical – I could articulate the issues relating to the EU pretty well, but put me into a debate where the focus was a domestic issue like education and I was out of my depth. I had read the manifesto, but it really wasn’t much help.
In early 2006, when David Bannerman became chairman, things began to change on this front. He launched the “Five Right Things to do” initiative that took UKIP into new territory such as education, law and order and tax. Yes, as mentioned, we had touched on these and other areas in earlier manifestos, but not in the sort of depth now being proposed.
It is perhaps hard for me to be objective here, as I did much of the donkey work for the education policy. David Lott said that it was “the best policy document that UKIP had ever produced.” It put UKIP in touch with education pressure groups such as the excellent “Campaign for Real Education” and in fact led to the retired probation officer and author David Fraser if not joining the party certainly becoming more sympathetic to it – a real first for us. Until now, people had only ever joined UKIP over EU-related issues.
A few months later, John Whittaker’s Flat Tax policy was launched at a fringe meeting during the 2006 Tory Party conference in Bournemouth. This again gave us links and credence with groups like the Taxpayers’ Alliance, who were represented at the launch.
However, these initiatives do not seem to have turned UKIP in the public eye from a single-issue party. It is impossible to verify the rumour that the domestic agenda, based on traditional right-of-centre Conservatism, is really an attempt to push the Tories in that direction rather than to claim the ground for UKIP in its own right. The party, in other words, is simply a Tory pressure group.
This rumour has done the rounds for a couple of years. It is hard to prove, especially as the centre-right agenda is, in fact a good one. The problem is that UKIP hasn’t been able to take ownership of this ground. Its dabbling in domestic politics has not been convincing. Part of the problem is having a leader with no ability to speak convincingly and informedly on domestic issues.
He has little interest in the minutiae of domestic policy. Unfortunately, delegating this job to Bannerman has led to a complete muddle, with no subsequent policy launch having the profile of the Flat Tax announcement.
Bannerman’s competence is questionable.
His chairmanship of the Bow Group is one of few features about his life not in dispute. How someone with this supposed breadth of policy experience, particularly in the field of transport can propose electrifying a line which was closed 39 years ago beats me! I can vouch for the fact that this proposal was included in the first draft of the UKIP transport policy document.
These policy initiatives have failed to change either the public perception of UKIP nor the thinking of some party members. Two years on from my struggles in Lewes, I was seconded to help out with the Sedgefield by-election, and for all my enthusiasm to ensure our candidate was well briefed on domestic policies, he just kept going back to the EU all the time.
If UKIP still exists in 2010 and puts up candidates for the General Election, it will be just the same. If the candidates are not comfortable with a broader agenda, how can the electorate be convinced that UKIP is more than just a single-issue party? My sad conclusion is that it is too late for the party ever to make the breakthrough into domestic politics.
The failure of UKIP Part 7

Professionalisng the Party?
The second catchphrase in early 2006 alongside “Five Right Things to do” was “Professionalisng the Party.” I came out to Brussels quite humbled at the thought of being part of this process, seeing as I was a newcomer to political research. Three years on, I cannot seriously believe that Nigel ever had any intention of making UKIP a professional party.
We need to go back to Brussels to see how shallow of the talk of “professionalism” is. Nigel’s office assistant out there is Steve (or Andrew) Reed – an individual whom I bear no personal grudge towards, but whose competence is highly dubious, to say the least.
Steve is a conspiracy theorist of the most eccentric type. He also writes the most grotesque English and has a serious drink problem. The net result is this letter, sent out from Nigel’s office in response to correspondence from a member of the public about the situation in Zimbabwe two years ago:-
Zimbabwe is certainly a country under siege from the “international community”, whose neo-colonial policies in Africa are thinly disguised as “humanitarian intervention” in conflicts, which it may well have instigated, just as they were in Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
So embarrassing was this letter, which also stated that the EU was worse than Zimbabwe, that extracts from it appeared in the Independent newspaper, and was the reason why a hastily-cobbled together “UKIP Statement on Zimbabwe” suddenly appeared on the party’s website. Yet Steve lived to fight another day and to produce this response to a letter which simply asked the MEP’s to support a written declaration on the setting-up of a Europe-wide register of missing children, following the McCanns’ visit to the European Parliament:-.
European coöperation, furthermore, is rather hindered, than helped, by the centralised bureaucracies of the EU, which, by abolishing national frontiers, have made EU-territory a playground for all types of crime, and which, in general, are rather intent on extending their powers than on governing wisely and well. This is only to be expected of an organisation, which lacks all democratic accountability…Indeed, the only way the huge, multilingual territories of the EU can be governed is by means of a repressive police-state, where every identity, asset and movement is monitored.
Steve’s briefing documents for the MEP’s display a similar lack of professionalsim. Instead of stickingto a simple summary of proposed legislation, he likes to have a rant about the EU. That’s not the job of an assistant. Gerard Batten has expressed extreme frustarion over this, but Steve remains in the Farage assistant office!
Gawain Towler’s incompetence has laready been mentioned. He has a background in the press, and appears to be widely connected but the quality of his work leaves much to be deisred.
Turning to the UK, the bigggest failing has been the total lack of any program to train party activists. UKIP contains many enthusiastic and committed members who have never been involved in politics before. They have joined because they have read or heard something that has convinced them that Britain should leave the EU.
Now while there are good sound reasons for supporting Britain’s withdrawal, there are also all manner of crackpot conspiracy theories doing the rounds, and some party members have regurgitated these in all innocence, believing that anyone saying bad things about the EU must be telling the truth. A professional party should have been providing education at all levels to ensure that party members are gven the tools to separate fact from fiction. The total failure to do this has contributed to the image problem the party faces – Cameron’s comments about “fruitcakes and loonies” has sometimes been closer to the mark than we would like.
The result of this lack of professionalsim is that the party has failed to advance among a key sector of the population. A good few people, possibly some 1/3 of the voting population, have a visceral dislike of the EU and have been easily won over to a withdrawalist position. They may not necessarily be UKIP voters, but they would agree with the overall stance of the party. There are also another significant group, my estimate being a further 1/3 of all voters, who have misgivings about the EU, but are not yet in the withdrawalist camp.
Maybe they have been conned by the propaganda of the three established parties, or perhaps they are still weighing up the arguments. As a generality, these will be serious thinkers. Such people are not going to be convinced by conspiracy theory claptrap or gimmicky, silly cartoons. Focus groups have painted a picture of UKIP as a negative party, and I would venture that some who voiced this opinion include representatives of this “middle third” that UKIP should be addressing. It will require a positive approach to win these people over, which UKIP has this far failed to make. Sadly, UKIP’s failure to advance among this important section of the electorate has set back the cause of independence by several years.
NEC problems and other structural failings.
The NEC is meant to represent the membership. It has been reduced to rubber-stamping Nigel’s decisions. Whether those on the NEC have been fairly voted into office is another matter – Lisa Duffy, a fairly unknown figure until her elevation to the NEC, apparently received more votes in the 2008 NEC election than Nigel received in the party leadership election two years ago! Naturally, she has taken the Farage line.
Since 2004, the story of the NEC is a procession of well-intentioned members either resigning or being forced out. It is claimed that some NEC members disagree in private with some of the things that Nigel does. All well and good, but they seem to vote with him, and have failed to support Delroy Young, Dr David Abbott and Dr Eric Edmond who have had the bravery to express their misgivings openly.
Another serious structural failing is the inability of the party to remove the leader. In the days of Kilroy’s membership, the rules were tightened up in this area. The net result is that any initiative to remove Nigel has fallen foul of the sheer logistics required to call an egm.
At the core of the party is a culture of cronyism and secrecy. The biggest challenge to date has come over the selection of candidates for the 2009 European Parliamentary elections. The South West wanted the Electoral Commission to handle the selection from start to finish, but this was rejected. The result has been a series of unanswered questions and threatened court action – especially in the Eastern Region whereby Robin Page and John West never appeared on the list and the Farage favourite Bannerman ended up in pole position.
The removal of Gregg Beaman from the No. 1 spot in the North West was also shrouded in controversy. Marta Andreasen’s candidacy is highly controversial, as only under EU laws is a citizen of another country eligible to stand. One candidate in the South East region sent a delegate to the count, who saw a good number of ballot papers with votes for Farage and Andreasen only.
In a straw poll of my local branch committee, not one person said they had voted in this way. It all looks very suspicious, and the official response to these gripes of, “Well, be thankful you’re not a Tory. Their existing MEP’s automatically get the top slots” is just not acceptable. It epitomises the fact that the membership have very little power in the party. The Political Committee is appointed, not chosen. Our current chairman was appointed without the NEC being previously consulted. The control of all the official media outlets, including the Independence newsletter, means that real debate is not possible.
When the Lechlade Group think-tank was set up, Nigel told the then party General Secretary Geoffrey Kingscott that his first task was to get it closed down. He was initially no more supportive of the widely reported “Parish Poll” campaign, that was set up by an ordinary UKIP member in Dorset.
Thanks to the innocence of many party members noted above, UKIP – the party that professes to believe in “bottoms-up” democracy and whose members sing the praises of Switzerland’s political system – has become the most top-down party in British politics. Not satified with the level of control he has achieved, Farage wants to bring in a rule change that will facilitate still further the purging of dissidents, yet it will be sold to the membership as a good thing, or else couched in such obscure language that most of them won’t understand the nuances of the wording. Sadly, the art of spin is practised to as a great a degree by the leadership on the membership as by New Labour on the British Public. The sad thing is that a good few of the membership are not aware of it even now.
Financial problems
The last subject to be considered is the timebomb of financial scandal ticking away. Some pretty damning data about the Ashford Call Centre has been in the Public domain for a number of years. Activists have pressed for answers and have been fobbed off time after time.
The Alan Bown Donation problem is another potential pitfall. If the appeal by the Electoral Commission against the initial judgement in UKIP’s favour is successful, Mr Bown could shell out an equivalent sum to the amount confiscated to keep the party afloat, but it is not going to help the party’s standing.
Even small issues suggest that there is something fishy in how money is handled. Why can members not renew their membership by Direct Debit? So simple, so what is the problem?
Another odd issue is how UKIP seems to find so much money for big by-elections, especially if Nigel or one of his close associates is the candidate. Money seemed no object in Bromley, 2006 or Sedgefield 2007. What is notable here is how expensive each UKIP vote seems to be. With the different parties’ expenses and votes available on various websites, analysis of UKIP’s performance against other small parties, notably comparing UKIP with the BNP in the Henley by-election, shows that they gain fair more votes per £100 spent than UKIP. UKIP spent £17.056 and received 843 votes. The BNP spent £4,744.06, less that 1/3 of UKIP’s budget, but polled 1,243 votes – over 40% more than UKIP.
Lack of confidence in the integrity of the party’s finances will have the obvious knock-on effect in reduced donations, both from rich party members and from sympathetic organisations. Nigel is a past-master at drumming up enthusiasm among ordinary party members. No doubt, many of the genuine older members unaware of the issues discussed here will send in their £10’s and £20’s to help the party fight the elections next June, but it would be a matter of great surprise if the amount raised, especially in the South East, comes anywhere near the figure for 2004.
The end of the road
Sleaze, incompetence, poor political judgement, purges of dissidents, a “loony” image, allegations of vote rigging and financial problems – not a healthy situation for a small political party stuck in the doldrums. The few months between now and June 2009 are highly likely to see the publication of a few scandals involving Farage. His venomous attitude has created many enemies, and those enemies are unlikely to stay silent. Even if the rants of Greg Lance-Watkins cannot all be taken seriously, if only 10% of his allegations are true, that could pose the party serious problems in the run-up to what should have been an even greater triumph than June 2004.
It really is now too much to expect the party to be turned round. Even removing Farage as leader will not solve it. His cronies hold all the positions of power, and there isn’t the time to winkle them all out. Sadly, for all the undoubted good UKIP has achieved, it is time for it to be dismembered. The wound is too deep. The poison has spread too widely. In 2004, UKIP had a great chance to advance the argument for British withdrawal from the EU. With the right approach, the argument could have been won irrevocably by now. Independence is so noble an objective, and there is so much to support this assertion.

So UKIP has had its chance and blown it. We are left with only one option – to start again, learning from UKIP’s successes but. more importantly, its failures.

This article is markedly similar to that which John Petley wrote in late 2008, a copy of which I read at the time but have never published as it was supplied in confidence and was not then widely known in the public domain.

Charlie Endell having made some alterations it seems, or having received an altered copy of the original text, has put the article in the public domain and I am thus liberated from the constraints of my original undertaking and publish the public domain version posted by Charlie Endell.

Charlie Endell IS known to me as a genuine person whose personal experience over many years at the center of UKIP would be adequate to corroborate almost every fact herein..

A Page turns

Posted by Richard Monday, March 02, 2009 , , , , ,

You have to give it to Robin Page – he has a wicked sense of humour. Thus, when he slides the stiletto deep into the heart of UKIP, he does it with style and an easy, jovial quip.

Page has, he writes “just helped the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).” He has jumped ship. “It is a small party,” he adds, “whose main wish at the moment seems to be a desire to become even smaller; so I did my bit and resigned.”

There then follows a familiar tale of skulduggery, sharp practice and bad faith that has become the hallmark of the UKIP hierarchy, one with which I am personally all too familiar – including the attempts after the event to re-write history to make what happened sound completely different from what actually transpired. In UKIP territory, the “victims” must be responsible for their own fate. The upper echelons of the party can do no wrong (see comment at the end of this).

In fact, Page points the finger at one man, Nigel Farage, who he accuses of having managed “to obtain almost complete centralised power of UKIP”. And, having watched the party closely for these past years – having devoted a great deal of my time and energy to its cause – I have no doubt that Page is absolutely right.

From the heady days when we first returned MEPs in the 1999 euro-elections, it looked as though we were on our way to becoming a force in the land. And if there was a single man responsible for that success (although it was the work of many), it was Nigel Farage.

But, before even before what appeared to be the massive breakthrough in 2004, when UKIP returned 12 MEPs with 2.7 million votes representing 16.8 percent of the vote, the rot was already eating away at the heart of the party. Since then, writes Page, Ukip’s 12 European parliamentarians have, by defection and expulsion, dropped to nine – and one has even left his constituency to live elsewhere, without telling his constituents. One has been to prison and one is still on police bail, awaiting the outcome of criminal investigations.

At the top of this dunghill is Nigel, a man who has cleaned out of the party anyone who came under the slightest suspicion of being a threat to him. But, having brought the first real success to the party, this is now the man who, almost single-handedly, has destroyed it.

Page might have articulated his disgust publicly, but there are many, many more people who share his views and who have walked away from the party and will have nothing to do with it.

The Tories have been quick to pick up Pages’ resignation statement and, no doubt, some are hoping that they will be the beneficiaries of the collapse of UKIP – and that it is. (There is a piece this morning on Tory Diary, which has some interesting, if predictable, comments.)

It is unlikely, however, that the Tories gain any benefit whatsoever. As we pointed out earlier, the inheritors of the UKIP vote – and many more – will almost certainly be the BNP. That seems to be what Labour’s private polling is telling it.

We are thus looking a situation where the BNP will for the first time gain a number of MEPs. On the other hand, there is a very real prospect of a total wipe-out for UKIP. It could well lose all its MEPs, including its original three gained in 1999. That, if it happens – and it looks increasingly certain – will effectively mean the end of UKIP and the end of euroscepticism organised on a party basis. For that too, we will have to thank Farage.

But, as we also indicated earlier, that does not mean that euroscepticism will disappear. On the contrary, it will acquire a harder edge, carried along by parallel agendas which the establishment will not like. In the past, they have had great sport from UKIP, mocking and denigrating its members. Now the hard men are going to take over. They will not be mocked so easily – or at all.

Interestingly, on the front page of the Sunday Express yesterday, there was a story on a “MI5 alert” on the expected riots over the summer. That riots are expected is not news – we did it a little while ago. But what is new about the piece is a suggestion that the government is so concerned about the possible break-down of law and order that the Army has been put on standby.

This could very well be true. Recently, from a confidential source, I received information that the MoD was buying up unusually large quantities of tear gas and other riot equipment. Clearly, it has no intention of being caught out, as it was at the beginning of the Troubles, having to ration tear gas and riot shields. Maybe they might even find a use for all those Snatch Land Rovers, when they are returned from Iraq.

The implications of putting the Army on the streets, though, are horrendous. Currently, the Army is riding on the crest of a wave of public approval but, as it did in Northern Ireland, sentiment can very quickly turn. The ramifications for the campaign in Afghanistan might be significant. An Army which is sent out against its own people is not likely to attract much support for its other activities.

But there is not much prospect of the Army disobeying orders. As we saw in the 2001 Foot and Mouth epidemic, it went to work with a will, engaging in illegal activities, intimidating ordinary people and conspiring with the civil authorities to enforce false arrest. It will do so again if ordered, with the back-up this time of the Civil Contingencies Act which makes legal much of what was illegal back in 2001.

However (with the considerable assistance of Nigel Farage), having disposed of the “moderate” voice of protest – which UKIP largely represented – the establishment is going to discover once again a very simple and undeniable truth. There are more of us than there are of them – an awful lot more, and they haven’t ordered anything like enough tear gas.

They had their chance to listen to the voices of moderation – and they blew it. Now, altogether different voices are going to be heard. A Page has turned – in more than one way.

Just a few quick points on these farcical leadership placements!
POINT ONE:
Just what exactly is Farage’s relationship and future plans with The BNP as clearly his personal staff have a close relationship with The BNP and thus clearly so has Farage through them – he does after all control the staff.
POINT TWO:
Is it true that Annabelle Fuller is on Bloom’s payroll pending appointment to The Pan EU Political EFD Party as head of the London Media Office for the new Farage Party?
POINT THREE:
Is it confirmed yet that after his coronation, regardless of the very clear wishes of UKIP membership, to create within the days between his placement and the 15-Nov-2010 the new EFD Party.
POINT FOUR:
ZARYCHTA, Kamila kamila.zarychta@europarl.europa.eu is listed as an EFD employee Legal Affairs (JURI); Civil Liberties, Justice & Home Affairs (LIBE); Regional Development (REGI) – yet Batten & Buffton both seem to be paying her salary – Is she being paid twice or are UKIP missing out on legitimate staff to buy favours for Farage?
POINT FIVE:
How come different people get different rules in the placement of Farage as leader?
POINT SIX:
Weren’t The Electoral Reform Society supposed to be arranging the election of the leader? That being the case how come that I hear the rules are being bent by Lisa The Duff?
I understand neither David Bannerman nor Winston McKenzie was able to come up with either the £1,000 entry fee to cover printing of Ballot Addresses etc. nor even the relevant signatures!
POINT SEVEN:
Weren’t these the reasons given for deliberately blocking Robin Page at the last EU Elections so as to put Farage’s paid yes men in place and that dishonest runt Mick McTrough whose lies and corruption were as consistent as those of David Bannerman, Marta Andreasen and Christopher Gill.
POINT EIGHT:
I understand that although Tim Congdon & Nigel Farage had delivered their payment and the correct paperwork by due date. The delivery of ballot papers was therefore delayed not so much to accommodate the corrupt and dishonest David Bannerman & the clown candidate Winston McKenzie.
The delay was seemingly to ensure David Bannerman – who none but a fool would take seriously, remained in the coronation process to ensure that the vote in opposition to Farage would be split which was the aim of David Bannerman being stood anyway!
POINT NINE:
It will be noted that these utterly corrupt elections have been structured to dishonestly advantage Farage by ensuring every Hustings was managed by his staff – just as last time Farage cheated to be placed as leader his staff and intimate friends were even loitering in public toilets to lie to people on his behalf!
We note this time Farage has ensured that questions put to the contestants were selected by his own staff and it is widely believed Farage has not only had the questions leaked to him only but also has been provided with researched responses!
POINT TEN:
The deliberate delay of distribution of Ballot Papers by Lisa The Duff (Farage’s salaried placement!) has clearly and seemingly deliberately disadvantaged Tim Condon as it meant his electoral address was mailed out late and thus his attempt to answer the questions of the member electorate which they wished to ask rather than at the hustings where only the questions Farage CHOSE to answer were addressed – This effort by Tim Congdon to act with integrity to endeavour to answer member’s questions was thwarted.
Just as a point of interest what was the point of wasting money paying The Electoral Reform Society when it seems all too clear that the aim was to cheat anyway?

#365* – Signs of Spring; what! Is that a Chicken?

Posted by Greg Lance - Watkins (Greg_L-W) on 08/03/2009

#365* – Signs of Spring; what! Is that a Chicken?

Clean EUkip up NOW & make UKIP electable!

The corruption of some of EUkip’s leadership
& NEC is what gives the remaining 10%
a bad name!

Signs of Spring; what! Is that a Chicken? Do you know Dave?!

Hi,

Robin Page (Author, Farmer & Journalist) has contacted me this afternoon and asked me to post the following short essay/article for him, on my blog – further neither I nor he have any objection to this piece being reproduced anywhere on condition that it is not used in part to misrepresent that which it is clear it means in full and that it is sourced to this blog so that others can read it in full to confirm there are no alterations – Thanks.

Signs of Spring; what! Is that a Chicken? Do you know Dave?

I love butterflies, I am almost a butterfly freak, and to me the first sign of spring is a sighting of the first Brimstone butterfly of the year. I usually pride myself in spotting the day they emerge from winter hibernation – the glorious Brimstone day.

On Saturday I reckoned it was a degree or three too cool. Imagine my jealousy and embarrassment when Lulu rushed in boasting, “I’ve seen a Brimstone”. I rushed out but the butterfly had gone.

Never mind, I did find two other signs of spring arriving, flowering lesser celandine and coltsfoot – wonderful.

In the evening Lulu and me went to an excellent concert given by the Christ’s College Music Society at Great St Mary’s Church, in the centre of Cambridge. I am afraid I dozed during the second half after the emotional exhaustion suffered from seeing Cambridge United beat Burton Albion in the afternoon. To an ignorant layman like me the first half (of the concert) was brilliant – the “Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saens. I was particularly interested in the second section “Hens and Roosters”.

Sometime ago, in a puerile demonstration – UKIP seems to prefer puerile demonstrations to real policies – several prominent UKIPPERS dressed up as chickens. Consequently I wondered whether one of them would have tried to sneak into the concert – but no chicken appeared.

This poses the question, did Nigel Farage, UKIP’s leader, disappear in a Chicken costume on Saturday afternoon? I pose this extraordinary question as I had been asked to appear on Sky’s “Sunday Live” (yesterday). The idea was to examine the state of UKIP. I was to be asked to explain why I had left UKIP first, and then Mr. Farage was going to be quizzed on the state of the Party. This was arranged on Wednesday, then on Saturday afternoon, Mr.Farage told Sky that he would only appear if I was taken off the programme. The Sky producer was furious and did not like being told by Farage who she could have on her programme. She refused to axe me – so the great Party Leader refused to be on the programme and the item was cut. Farage had again become a Mirage.

It is absolutely remarkable – the man who complains that UKIP gets too few television invitations suddenly refused to be on a television programme. Why? Apparently he claimed that he thought I would “libel” him. Sorry Nigel, the spoken word is “slander”. And why after thirty-eight years of writing and broadcasting, with no record of libel or slander, would I suddenly start now? Sorry Mr. Mirage, you will have to do better than that. All the questions I have been asked from those who were looking forward to the programme is “What is he frightened of?” and:” Has he got anything to hide”.

To help the process – these are the questions, issues and developments I would have tried to raise in the limited time allowed on the programme:

Why has Bob Spink MP, the ex Tory who UKIP claimed was UKIP’s first MP, now stated that he is an “independent MP”, and that he has never been a member of UKIP?

Why has ex barrister and ex UKIP Chairman Petrina Holdsworth just announced (last Saturday) that she intends to stand against Nigel Farage in the South East at the Euro elections in June?

Why has John Petley, UKIP’s “Senior Researcher”, sacked by Farage, announced the same thing?

Why has Prof Tim Congdon just left UKIP and rejoined the Tories?

Why has Del Young, UKIP’s charismatic, black, ex UKIP NEC member just left UKIP? He would have been brilliant on “Question Time” but every time an invitation came, Farage grabbed it. How’s the old Leo Sayer song go:”I’m a one man band…..”.

Why was Dr.David Abbott expelled from the NEC?

Why was Dr Eric Edmund removed from the NEC and struck off the MEP list for the South West.

Why was Dr.Richard North – Ukip’s best-known researcher, sacked by Nigel Farage?

I do apologise at this point – this does all sound like the Pol Pot removal of all those who can think for themselves. But this is what has happened inside UKIP.

Why was Richard Suchorzewski who came second in the leadership election overlooked for “Deputy Leader”? Instead the position was given to someone called David Bannerman.

Why are UKIP’s rules and regulations selectively applied?

Why was I given a dispensation to put a form in late for UKIP’s MEP candidates selection – only for that dispensation to be suddenly withdrawn leaving me disqualified.

Why was Marta Andreasen included on the election list for the South East, behind Nigel Farage, when as a Spanish resident whose main home is in Barcelona, her inclusion has broken at least five of UKIP’s own regulations, and probably as many as seven.

Why was the Report of UKIP’s own Returning Officer, Piers Merchant, ignored? He said that I had been “ambushed”?

Why won’t UKIP involve the Electoral Reform Society in UKIP elections – I understand Nigel Mirage is the one opposed to it?

Why did Mirage tell me that my case would go to the Political Committee when he was the Political Committee?

Why does the Political Committee have no agenda and no minutes?

Why won’t UKIP comply with the Data Protection Act?

Why did not one UKIP MEP give evidence to the House of Lords Treaty of Lisbon Impact Assessment? One famously explaining that he had no time because of his committee work for the European Parliament. Weren’t UKIP MEPs elected to expose the futility of the Parliament – not work for it? Etc etc

In addition to all this there are other rumblings that could break at any moment.

So Nigel Mirage, why wouldn’t you appear on the programme? Had you disappeared back into the UKIP chicken run? Or was your behaviour a “chicken run”.

Greg Lance-Watkins, UKIP-watcher extraordinary has come up with the answer to my exclusion: “Robin come on now. The answer is simple – you would have easily won the Eastern region vote – but in my view Farage wanted his friend Bannerman to win – so you were sidelined. After all when you were elected onto the National Trust Council, a slightly larger organisation than UKIP, you easily topped the poll. You would have done with UKIP too. It’s as simple as that”.

So Dave has nothing to fear from UKIP. Instead of being the year of triumph for UKIP, the House of Cards is crumbling.

There is only one hope – Farage and his apparatchiks should resign now and give the party back to its roots. There is just enough time.

Don’t hold your breath Dave – it takes courage to resign – just as it does to fight your corner on a national television programme.
***END – No word has been altered as can be confirmed by Mr. Page.***

I trust this is of help – perhaps EUkip members and those who espouse leaving the EU yet are unwilling to put their reputation at risk by association with EUkip, its leadership, the NECV and the various odious liars, cheats, frauds and general low lifes, betraying Britain for self enrichment, to be found in the upper echelons of EUkip:

TO LEAVE THE EU

What is the exit and survival plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits of leaving The EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our border.
NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.

Politicians are failing to tell the truth, but so are almost all wanabe Politicians, the MSM and Snivil Cervants.

The fact is that even if EVERY British MEP wanted change in The EU it would achieve NOTHING.
Every single British Politician, of EVERY Party, elected since before we joined the EUropean Common Market, has promised to change The EU’s CAP – In 40 Years they have achieved absolutely NOTHING!

To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we leave our children and the future, with shame!

#105* – EUkip Leadership Faces MORE PAGES Of Shame!!

Clean EUkip up NOW & make UKIP electable!

TUESDAY 4th-Nov-2008 ANOTHER DAY OF SHAME IN THE FINAL COLLAPSE OF EUkip IN DISGRACE

Hi,

In this instance I do feel that it was not appropriate to source these letters to the NEC from Del Young, Dr. Eric Edmond, Dr. David Abbott or Martin Hasslam as already dishonest and corrupt attempts founded on the testimony of proven liars, frauds and cheats including the unarguably corrupt and dishonest drunken womaniser Nigel Farage.

And the fraud and indisputably dishonest and corrupt David Bannerman, the foul mouthed corrupt liar Douglas Denny, Farage’s sad little puppet the Liverpool Scally NuttAll, the odious and utterly bouvine Oxley, the dishonest cheat Lisa Duffy and the restof the pond life in EUkip’s leadership NEC.

Therefore I used one of my contacts in the EU and ensured the veracity of the letters from a source in the UK.

EUkip under the present dishonest and crass leadership and NEC is finished help bury the body rapidly before the rotten stench pollutes the entire Patriotic movement and ends us dragging any more decent and staggeringly naive people into the arms of the revolting racist and anti Jewish BNP which has refused to repudiate its racist roots and its association with the disgusting American White Supremacist Movement funded the naiscent BNP’s origins in the National Front where the ritual murder of 4-5,000 mostly young men was the grounding that gained the cash that was the funding of the BNP today – without these 5,000 murders just because these young men were black – just as the funding of Lady Birdwood was predicated on her anti Jewish stance.

The BNP is a sordid and revolting organisation that refuses to repudiate their roots – knuckle dragging liars like Mark Croucher, liars like Denny, self seeking rascals like Zucherman, frauds like Bannerman, cheats like Lisa Duffy, idiots like Rachel Oxley and the weak and dishonest like Christopher Gill and others that have floated to the top of EUkip’s septic tank and their dishonest and corrupt assistants like Anthony Butcher, the liar Malcolm Wood, Stuart Agnew, Marta Andreassen, Gawain Towler and the indisputable bent retired copper Trevor Colman are beyond doubt little more than recruiting sergeants for the BNP in their dishonesty, leaving the lost adrift having betrayed them.

SHAME ON YOU ALL FOR YOUR SELF SERVING BETRAYAL OF THESE UNITED KINGDOMS & THE DECENT PEOPLE OF UKIP

Dear members of the NEC.

Out of courtesy I am sending you a copy of a letter sent to the Information Commissioner. I am also sending one to the Electoral Commission concerning your general behaviour which is bringing the whole of the anti-EU movement into disrepute – the failure of UKIP to abide by its own rules and constitution; a failure of UKIP to declare proper financial information; the failure of Nigel Farage to reply to genuine concerns including questions concerning allegations about money held on the Isle of Man, which may be true or may be false, and of course details of the way in which I was “ambushed” (the description of Piers Merchant – not me) during the internal UKIP election and UKIP’s failure to act on the recommendations of its own returning officer.

Most of you ought to be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves but of course once you start digging it takes integrity to stop and admit that you have been wrong.

Yours sincerely,

Robin Page

Dear Mr. Thomas,

I am writing to you in your capacity as Information Commissioner. I wish to make a formal complaint about the United Kingdom Independence Party – known by some as UKIP.

Enclosed are copies of requests I have made to UKIP under the Data Protection Act. Sadly UKIP failed to reply to my first request and also failed to comply with a second request to supply information about me held by UKIP. My cheque for ten pounds was returned and the suggestion was that a change of Chairman at UKIP has made my request invalid, which as you know is ridiculous.

Despite this refusal, documents have appeared on the internet clearly showing that UKIP holds much information concerning me, relevant to the Data Protection Act – some of it extremely damaging. In addition it is clear that there are agendas and minutes of meetings that have referred to me, which remain secret, and clearly I need to know what this information concerns and reveals. In addition I have been informed that members of UKIP’s National Executive Committee have also sent emails concerning me and clearly UKIP has a duty to reveal all this information under the terms of the Data Protection Act.

For your information because of my concern I am contacting the Electoral Commission about the behaviour of the higher echelons of UKIP. As a journalist, who writes for a number of national newspapers and magazines I shall also be writing about the extraordinary acts taking place within UKIP which in my view have more in common with the old Eastern European style of democracy – or even Zimbabwe’s style of government – than they do with what most people understand as Western democracy.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Robin Page

To Members of the NEC

Here is a copy of my letter to the Chairman of the Electoral Commission.

Yours sincerely,

RP

Dear Mr. Younger,

I am writing to you with a number of serious complaints concerning the United Kingdom Independence Party. I write as a paid-up member of the party. I write as the person who finished third on its European List for the last European Elections in East Anglia. I am writing as the UKIP candidate for South Cambridgeshire at the last General Election. I am writing as somebody who has spoken at UKIP conferences and who has spoken, by invitation, at numerous UKIP events and branches. I am also writing to you as someone with no political ambition whatsoever apart from wanting to see honest politics and a properly functioning, credible political party whose aim is for Britain to regain its financial and political independence from the EU.

I am also writing to you as a journalist who contributes to various national newspapers and magazines, and also as someone who is committed to open and transparent democracy.

I am really writing to you by accident. Despite having a full programme of writing and farming, (I have written thirty books and have a small family farm). I was contacted by several people earlier in the year who urged me to stand for UKIP’s internal MEP selection process. This I did only to find myself suddenly disqualified from the process. Piers Merchant, UKIP’s own election referee concluded that I had been “ambushed” and his report shows a totally flawed process. Needless to say, it is a Report that has not been shown to me, but which has apparently been leaked onto the internet.

The National Executive Council of UKIP then ignored all his recommendations adding to the undemocratic nature of the process. In the elections UKIP’s hierarchy ignored its own rules and constitution to suit the placemen of the executive and the leader Nigel Farage. Incidentally – I was disqualified after following the procedures given to me by UKIP’s own paid officials – consequently “ambushed” is the only word that can adequately explain what happened.

From all over the country come examples of rules flouted. In my view it is an example of a political party stolen by its executive, from its grass roots. It has been astonishing to witness and it is a process that in my naivety I never thought could happen in Britain. To me the whole process has been more in tune with Eastern Europe before the fall of the Wall, or even Zimbabwe.

However there are other issues too. There appear to be holes in UKIP’s accounting. The leader of UKIP told me on one occasion how well UKIP’s call centres were doing and were raising money. There are several people who claim that there is no proper audit trail showing how much money was raised and where it went. In my view this needs to be investigated to establish whether or not UKIP’s finances are transparent.

It is said that the leader, Nigel Farage, has a Trust based on the Isle of Man. I do not know whether this is true or false. Mr. Farage will not reply to my questions concerning this.
It is alleged that Mr.Farage called an MEP of Asian origin a “wog”. It is said that this event was witnessed and filmed. I do not know if this allegation is true or false. If it is true then in my view Mr.Farage is not suitable to lead a political party in British politics.

To endeavour to obtain more information concerning the state of UKIP and the integrity of its officials and higher echelons I have made requests to UKIP under the Data Protection Act. UKIP has failed to comply with any aspect of these requests. I have now made a formal complaint to the Information Commissioner, but it does seem to me that the Electoral Commission too should take action against a political party that seems to believe that it is above the law.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Robin Page

#99* – Saturday 1st. Is The Start of Rebuild for UKIP.

Posted by Greg Lance - Watkins (Greg_L-W) on 31/10/2008

The corruption of some of EUkip’s leadership & NEC is what gives the remaining 10% a bad name!

Clean EUkip up NOW & make UKIP electable

#99* – Saturday 1st. Is The Start of Rebuild for UKIP.

Hi,

Before we start I make the statement that David Bannerman, David Campbell, David Campbell Bannerman or what ever his real identity is is a fraud, a liar and a cheat whose involvement with EUkip has indisputably brought the party into disrepute.

May I also add there is a possibility he is still in the employ of the Tory Party to damage EUkip but it is a proven certainty that he is in the employ of the EU in direct breech of UKIP Constitution and Rules – for who is the Deputy Leader working? Clearly as he is a proven liar and NOT the person he claimed to be his word on anything is invalid and his membership of EUkip is invalid.

Firstly an apology – then a clarification for a correspondent who asked for clarification (Please add your own bullet points to suit clarity for yourself ;-), Then a couple of astonishing eMails from the Tory aid & EU employee the liar and fraud David The Desk – followed by a comment by me about his lies.Then a spot of VERY new information! & a bit more ‘stuff’.

Firstly my apologies for the quite genuine typo in the line below from #98* (apposite as it may be) it was a genuine error!

A Challenge for today – minded of the determination of the leadershit and NEC of EUkip to orchestrate a kangaroo court to debar those who wish to

Clarification:

>I would like to thank those who are beavering away in offices in the EU to ensure the members are kept informed.<

I mean here those who at risk of their position beaver away to seek to keep YOU informed by eMailing me copies of material in the absolute knowledge that in 10 years even those mailing it to me can not prove my sources 😉

Then a couple of astonishing eMails from the Tory aid & EU employee – the liar and fraud David The Desk:
‘I am sorry but you do not know half the story. Amongst other things, John West libelled me and reported Jeffrey Titford and Stuart Gulleford to the Essex police on trumped up charges – these have now been comprehensively dismissed as nonsense. He is now about to face serious disciplinary charges from a rich variety of complainants. Whilst there was one regrettable incident about YouTube, if anyone should apologise, it should be John West. Please disregard these GLW diatribes – he is out to undermine UKIP. We are not sure who he is working for, but we are determined to find out. His paymasters clearly do not have our interests at heart.
‘Best wishes,
David CB

Which Gained The Reply:

Dear Mr Bannerman,

I am in receipt, though a third party, of a letter which seems to be in general circulation.Would you like to justify the comments made in this email? Once again you have lied by claiming that I have libelled you.

You also lied when you claimed that I had reported you to the Police. I provided you with clear proof that I had not done so but I have still to receive an apology from you. To make matters worse you have made this lie public by circulating it to other members. You also mention Jeffrey Titford and Stuart Gullerford.

I approached senior officials of the party about this matter and my concerns were dismissed. When asked by the original complainant what action the party had taken I explained that nothing had been done. Therefore, in my capacity as a branch chairman, I had no option but to report to the Police what I saw as clearly a criminal breach of the Data Protection Act, together with apparent financial irregularities.

I also discussed this with my father, a former policeman, and was advised , subsequently confirmed by Essex police, that failure to report it would mean that both I and the original complainant could have been considered by the Police as ‘accessories after the fact’ for failing to report the alleged crime.

Further, in the interests of integrity, will you provide provenance for your claim regarding GLW?
I, like many others, deplore his style, but like you I am unable to refute his claims.

His endless string of leaks and statements of fact coming from the NEC, the EU and those close to it are now almost constant and yet the leadership seems unable to refute a single one of his allegations.

We the membership, look to a leader who will stand for probity, decency and morality. To slander people without proven substance is dishonest and demeans UKIP. I look forward to your speedy apology.

Yours Sincerely,
John West

followed by a comment by me about Bannerman’s lies:

To revisit the duplicity of the liar & fraud from the Tories David The Desk Bannerman:

>’I am sorry but you do not know half the story. Amongst other things, John West libelled me<

Bannerman – this is a lie as you are well aware. Just as is the pack of lies about your ancestry, which is almost as duplicitous as the CV you present relative to what can be found on the internet. As proven by the fact that I disproved the ‘crock’ that was peddled about you when you first parachuted in from the Tories to drag UKIP’s name into the gutter in which you live as a fantasist claiming fraudulent status and dishonest relationships.

I would contend that WHATEVER West said about you it would be impossible for you to make a claim of libel stand in court (even had he) as your public persona is a lie and it is thus imposible to libel you – one needs a stature and truth to establish a libel – you have neither.

>and reported Jeffrey Titford and Stuart Gulleford to the Essex police<

I have often noted that the corrupt at the top of EUkip seem to believe they have an entitlement to ignore the law yet bully and lie about their members and other to defend themselves.

There is no doubt that John West acted with total integrity in this matter – Do you David Campbell as a Tory claim that members of a political party in elected positions of trust should conceal what they perceive to be a crime?

A very straight and simple Yes or No answer will suffice!

>on trumped up charges<

You may recal that there was first a denial from EUkip sources that ANY report had been made!Then EUkip claimed there was no enquiry!

I note there is now an admission in part that there is a Police enquiry though you have lied again about the allegations – you have also dishonestly implied that Mr. West has the authority to bring ‘charges’.

As you KNOW (or imply you know) the allegations perhaps you should enumerate them and when unable to establish that they were trumped up and that there was perceived financial irregularity on SEVERAL counts and for numerous £1,000s and when you can not PROOVE there was no downloading of eMails of a private nature from PRIVATE eMail addresses perhaps you can do something honets for once in your life (since all we have seen of you is founded on lies) Your foulsome apology for your lies about Mr. West are long overdue.

> – these have now been comprehensively dismissed as nonsense.<

No sir they have not – this is another of your lies – though since the threatening letter did not actually threaten physical bodily harm or death the police have agreed with the complainant to drop that potential charge!

The matters of abuse of tax payers money and possible money laundering are I understand ongoing with OLAF, who when they have gathered the relevant information will take a view on what steps to take next – you may recall the time it took to bring Tom Wise to ‘arrest’ for what seem to be similar crimes of deception it seems.

As for the matter of the breech of trusty and abuse of computers that will remain an open investigation inactive pending direct complaint being made by those, such as the Chairman at the time and the General Secretary who had their private correspondence hacked into I understand.

I understand there are similar enquiries in the hands of OLAF pertaining to other individuals in the party particularly in the EU offices.On the strength of these FACTS I believe I have comprehensively proved that David The Desk has yet again been proven a liar.

> He is now about to face serious disciplinary charges from a rich variety of complainants.<

Yes this is true and a kangaroo court process is being set up to prevent him representing the members on the NEC as he was democratically elected to do. Further, interestingly, a number of known cheats and liars in the party have been solicited for spurious complaints that are clearly being encouraged in return for preferment and are thus being made on the grounds of malice for gain it seems.

We shall know more of the spead of corruption over the next few days as the liars are forced to surface with their self serving stories for the NEC orchestrated dishonesty.

Already, together with this eMail I have been sent an exchange of some 10+ eMails between Eric Edmond & various duplicitous and untrustworthy members of the EUkip NEC who are seeking to prevent him representing the 2,400 members who voted for him to represent their interests and the best interests of the party as he sees it.

Talking of trumped up charges you really must read the pompous drivel drawn up by this sad little failed Tory bag carrier – it is risible and that document alone would have an executive of a proper grown up company looking for a new job – This sordid little Tory liar has done NOTHING but bring EUkip into disrepute and has as you will be aware prostituted EUkip for HIS 30 pieces of silver as an EU employee.

>Whilst there was one regrettable incident about YouTube,<

’Regrettable’!!!! Regrettable!!

You really are a disgracefull little man Bannerman just how low will you sink for your own gain. The wording you are looking for if you had ANY integrity is ‘We deeply regret the criminal activity of a rogue employee who has been summarily dismissed without references or severance reward, we have written a letter of apology to Mr. West and his wife for any embarrassment, harm or damage they may perceive they have been cause and we as a Party and the responsible officers of the Party have unreservedly apologised and have clearly accepted our responsibility, we are obviously at the mercy of Mr. West to seek any reasonable damages however we hope that by adding him to the list in a draw for position and acting rapidly to acquit our duty in a manner we feel sure our members would wish we trust he will continue to work as a valued member of our party’.

Due to the incompetence of leadership EUkip now faces numerous related Court cases subsequent to which it is likely that Mr. West will, as with Mr. Page, seek punative damages – what staggering incompetence the leadership and NEC have shown!

>if anyone should apologise, it should be John West.<

What staggering arrogance from the unelected Deputy Leader of EUkip – on what grounds does this serial liar, bully, cheat and general Tory low life presume to to make so disgusting an allegation?Perhaps, other than perhaps style or syntax, has Mr. West done ANYTHING that he could be believed to

>Please disregard these GLW diatribes<

What? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE disregard the facts provided by G.L-W. as we can not show that a single word exposing corruption, dishonesty, incompetence, lies and fraud in EUkip is so much as inaccurate let alone untrue.

That the egregious little filth – liar, fraud, cheat and dishonourable Bannerman who has been proven unreliable, unsound, bitchy and corrupt who can not, together with lawyers and all his corrupt colleagues, refute a single fact I have led seeks to BEG YOU not to believe the truth – how very EU!!!

> – he is out to undermine UKIP.<

Now that IS a libel as he has not one shred of evidence to back his lie and I am firmly and openly on record as wishing to destroy the corrupt and rotting head of EUkip to restore it to the members cleaned-up and distanced from the indisputable dishonesty and corruption that I and many others have proved and published.

Let us see if the liar David Bannerman, or whatever his real name is, is sufficient of a man to apologise for his proven libel.

>We are not sure who he is working for, but we are determined to find out.<

The corrupt in EUkip have been making these comments for many years and a measure of their incompetence is their abject failure to make anything but childish playground insults in any way substantiated. Meanwhile again and again I have exposed liar, cheats, fraud, corruption, slander and libel by these odious people – with the aim of strengthening UKIP in the hands of its members liberated from the rotten head that has brought its into such disrepute.

We DESPERATELY need a patriotic party that will strenuously and with integrity, facts, probity and morality strive to liberate these United Kingdoms from the EU.

>His paymasters clearly do not have our interests at heart. ‘<

Again the idiotic Bannerman seeks to libel me by inference – However he is correct as I seek to destroy corruption, as so clearly represented by this sordid plant from the Tories now working for the EU.

>Best wishes, David CB<
(Do YOU think this stands for Corrupt Bastard or Conservative Bufoon?)

To continue – http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FWi43FxW1hY may prove interesting as an example of corruption in EUkip and during the recent scam orchestrated by the leadership of EUkip to put in place their chosen cronies – Farage is firmly on record making it clear he cares not a jot what the lists state he will draw up lists to suit him in April – what Bannerman is just a seat warmer for someone Farage wishes to parachute in – someone like the turncoat Tory Bob Spink?

Then of course he is in a position to parachute in the foul mouthed Fuller as a reward for her lies and duplicity and other services – he may even find he is blackmailed into giving the odious liar and supporter of extremism Mark Croucher as number one in Deadweight Derek’s (Derek Clark MEP) fiefdom or the walking waistcoat, assuming he has his marital affairs sorted out, as a replacement for Trevor Colman who I note is already being spun against on the grounds of racism!!!

Bit rich coming from some of EUkip’s leadership!

You will be aware I have a great deal of material from EUkip offices in the EU and elsewhere pertaining to the series of Kangaroo Courts planned to remove those who wish to clean up EUkip and who are insisting on financial probity and the removal of those who have so obviously brought EUkip into disrepute.

Although EUkip is wriggling on the hoof (to mix a few metaphors!) and at the moment are TRYING to deny basic Justice and refuse the selected victims the right to defend themselves against the trumped up charges – should they obstruct the fundamental standards of decent behaviour on a balanced and fair basis clearly those who are being dishonestly victimised will have every right to clear their names and acquit their duties to the electorate and those who voted for them in the public arena – including the courts.

Let us see if EUkip NEC & Leadership who have participated in this immoral and disgracefull witch hunt, seemingly to ensure they can keep their interests and calumnies concealed should unreservedly apologise for the shameful behaviour and also those who instigated this corruption including Farage as leader, Bannerman as deputy leader, Zucherman as Party Chairman who is acting shamefully as a licensed solicitor!

Denny who has repeatedly lied, cheated and acted corruptly on public forums and elsewhere, Oxley for her malicious behaviour and dishonest representation of her legal opinion as informed! Clark for his betrayal of Britain and admitted frauds against the EU – then we can start, once these people have resigned, to clean up the remainder of the party with the help of OLAF, The Police, The Electoral Commission and put UKIP back on track as an organisation that is fit for people of integrity to vote for.

I shall, in the interests of restoring UKIP withhold the documents to hand to provide EUkip with an opportunity to undertake to commence the clean up themselves – however I reserve the right to act in any manner I believe will best serve my Country and the decent honest grass roots members who have had their party stolen by self seekers, self enrichers, spivs, petty crooks, liars and worse!

EUkip has until 17:00hrs. Friday 31st. October to publicly and unreservedly apologise to myself, John West, Del Young, Simon Muir, Richard Suchorzewski, Petrina Holdsworth, David Abbott, Niall Warry, Dr. Richard North, Ian Gilman, Peter Watson, Robin Page, Daniel Foggo, The Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times, Dr. Eric Edmond and others whom they have defamed, lied about, slandered and libelled – Further an undertaking will be made to appoint The Returning Officer Piers Merchant to conduct a full, fair and externally organised rerun of the application, selection and vote for MEP candidates – the NEC/Leadership will undertake as recompense of their collusion in the corruption to date to fully fund this process from their own pockets – those unwilling to co-operate in this first step to make UKIP electable shall resign such offices they hold recuse themselves from all future political activity save voting and surrender their office and their membership back to the new UKIP within 7 days.

I note there has been much talk of EUkip’s leadership moving to a night of the long knives – You ain’t seen nothing yet!

If they insist let their political blood be spilt to ensure rebirth. I will not withdraw from this battle for my Country nor give ANY quarter once the battle commences – the choice is entirely that of EUkip whether to continue in corruption or commence the clean up. The names of ALL who have been besmirched by the filth 5that has risen in EUkip WILL be cleared and various resignations are a given – let us see if EUkip gets the message in time.

I will meet with any member of the Party on any public platform to accept their apologies and their plans to clean up the party and restore it to the members – I will meet with any group publicly to debate the clean up of UKIP or destruction of EUkip. The choice is entirely yours.

This may well not be pretty but already we have a small but growing army of activists in place ready to campaign directly against EUkip during the elections and we have briefed media contacts who understand our position our actions are predicated on whether the leadership acts with integrity or continues in indisputable corruption – if the latter the exposures will be relentless and the corrupt will be harried on a daily basis, clearly we are aided by the Courts, the Police, The EU, the Electoral Commission and various other authorities.

Clearly we have unexpected sources on the NEC, over many years, leaks amongst staff, media and trusted members – people who appreciate that UKIP is finished and are VERY angry at seeing their efforts exploited and their Country betrayed.

May I ask ALL honest members of what was UKIP to circulate this as widely as they can and do all they can to clean up EUkip and restore it to the members and the peoples of Britain fit to elect – minded that the most recent poll showed that 95% of 10,000 people polled wished Britain to LEAVE the EU yet under its present leadership the membership has fallen the activists have collapsed and the support in elections varies between 1 & 3% as a norm save one freak vote when only 2 parties stood!

Help US to get Britain OUT of the EU and ensure British people make rules for British people, pay taxes to fund Britain and control their own borders.

Regards,
Greg L-W.

#98* – The Caterpillars & The Shredders??

Hi,

A Challenge for today – minded of the determination of the leadershit and NEC of EUkip to orchestrate a kangaroo court to debar those who wish to represent the members and see the party cleaned up – the various (few) competent members who wish to introduce, structure, competence, professionalism, training and vision on an equitable, informed and moral basis replacing the anarchic distrust and chav like squabbling for better places at the trough or on the paths to the troughs of the gravy train it is interesting that I am no receiving as many as 5 copies of some of the correspondence from the NEC.

I would like to thank those who are beavering away in offices in the EU to ensure the members are kept informed.

I feel sure you will find the correspondence below all too indicative of the incompetence, ill manners and arrogantly hubristic chavs on the NEC and their puppet masters.

I wonder howmany have noticed there is almost no meeting deadweight Derek dare not attend – he is like the failing employee who leaves a jacket at his desk to stop people talking about him.

It is clear the contempt that many hold Clark in both for his dishonesty, his personality, his greed and his betrayal of the members, the Region who so foolishly elected him yet whom he has so betrayed by rigging committees and boasting of his methods of defrauding the tax payers whilst betraying our Country by acting as puppet for Farage and signing up to a concordance with the pro EU Ind. Dem. Group to place these United Kingdoms in greater subsidiarity to the corrupt and centralised EU and also to work with the EU to strengthen its committees and their control over Britain.

Whether the unscrupulous Derek Clark sees himself as some latter day Osric who like the present usurper seeks to reasonably mould the opposition, whatever the games he plays he does not even match up to Dungeons and Dragons and in fear of his place at the trough he dare not turn his back for fear of meeting with the fate of Hamlet’s Osric.

Derek Clark has proved a disgrace and his continued support of the betrayal of Britain does nothing but bring EUkip into disrepute – ensuring further failure in the elections of 2009 whether the enquiries of OLAF have come to fruition in time or not.Let us consider the offering I have been provided with recently (very), for which the individual is to be applauded and it may interest them to know that the second copy came in from another country within 15 minutes of the first!

Thank you for your email.

Once again your response is totally inadequate. As Party Chairman you are obliged by law to supply me with all the documents as requested under Section 7 of the Data Protection Act.

May I remind you that this law was passed by Parliament and can’t be ignored. Does the leadership think that they are above the law and can ignore the consequences of their actions indefinitely? UKIP is already the subject of complaints to the Information Commissioners Office and the Police following the leak of my MEP video interview onto You Tube.

Please don’t force me to make another complaint. Time and time again the leadership has brought the party into disrepute.

They have refused to apologise for the You Tube video leak , denied me my elected seat on the NEC, refused to discipline Michael Zuckerman and Douglas Denny for claiming that both Eric Edmond and myself suffer from mental illness, refused to open an investigation into the rigged MEP selection process, thrown an elected member off the NEC, refused to confirm or deny the claim that Miss Fuller is still working for Nigel Farage, refused to discipline Peter Reeve and Ron Whitmore for their unlawful attempt to throw me off the Suffolk Coastal Committee and so on.

How many more scandals will it take before the NEC finally wakes up and starts to realise that UKIP is falling apart under its current leader? I am also fully aware that there are plans to bring several members before a disciplinary committee. My name has already been mentioned as being on that list. I have been sent an email that confirms this.

I understand that this will be done prior to the NEC elections in order to prevent certain individuals standing for the NEC. No doubt these committees will also be rigged to get the desired result! Rather than deal with the serious corruption in UKIP the leadership seeks instead to silence those of us who wish to see democracy and integrity restored to UKIP. How very EU! Paul, how can we expect the British electorate to support us when we can’t even keep our own house in order? I had hoped that you would be different from your predecessor.

I had hoped that, unlike John Whittaker, you would resist Farage’s dictatorial attitude and stand up for the interests of the members.

It seems that I misjudged you. However, I still hope that you will prove me wrong. I strongly suggest that you supply me with the required data. I also strongly advise you to stop listening to misguided legal advice from Mr Zuckerman or Miss Oxley.

You have exactly 24 hours to confirm that you will supply me with the required data as requested under Section 7 of the Data Protection Act.

Failure to agree to supply it will result in a formal complaint being made to the Information Commissioners Office on Friday.

Yours sincerely,
John West
Chairman UKIP Ipswich & East Suffolk
Secretary UKIP Suffolk Coastal

It is quite staggering the crass muddle EUkip’s leadership and NEC have got themselves into.It is clear that they lack, in terms of leadership or managerial competence, integrity or any understanding of morality and gentlemanly conduct the slightest smidgeon of ability – but then again their leader had to depend on lies and dishonesty and the spending of a great deal of other people’s money to seize the leadership.

By the by as an aside had you noted that EUkip’s web site is so fundamentally biased that a debate in Cambridge is presented as a great achievement despite the undeniable fact that the fraudulent liar and cheat David the desk Bannerman lost the debate hands down whether due to his incompetence or his being utterly discredited in the eyes of decent people I could not guess.

It must by now be obvious to a huge percentage of the electorate that he is only acting as a placeholder in the lead position in the Eastern Region as his dishonesty is beyond all reasonable doubt – it is so marked that his place on the NEC is no longer legitimate nor as a candidate – the man brings EUkip into disrepute but then again it is not unreasonable to ponder for which of his masters he is doing this.Do not forget that he was sent over to EUkip replete with the story of the desk from The Tories where he had been salaried – the better informed amongst you will recall Stephen Sobey did likewise complete with cover story.

Bannerman now has a double reason for betrayal of members of UKIP in that he is also now salaried by the EU – he has proved to be dishonourable, a fraud, a liar, a cheat and NOT the person he claimed to be to gain acceptance and preferment in the first place – exactly the type of cover story the Tories provided for Stephen as you may recall!

When will EUkip wake up and rid itself of people like Clark, Denny, Smith, Bannerman, Colman, Duffy, NutAll, Oxley, Moran, and others who so clearly offer nothing of merit to the membership whatever value they may be as yes men and puppets for the leadership.

It is these odious people who are used by the incompetent leadership to buffer them against those who would see EUkip cleaned up and restored to the members as a party fit for people of integrity to vote for – when you consider in a rwecent media poll over 90% of the voters, be that self selected or not, voted to leave the EU yet under the present lack of leadership and misguidance the best they seem able to manage by votes is 1-3% as a party!

I do appreciate that Farage and those who seek to feed from the crumbs he spills them, almost unanimously seek to blame their failures on others – whether the their old associates the BNP or their critics. It is astonishing just how dishonestly they claim that I and others are damaging the party and bringing it into disrepute – have they not considered that all we do is report their shameful behaviour?

Friends in the media assure me that although EUkip is of absolutely no interest to their editors they are storing the details from eMails and the Forum that come their way – you must be aware of the damage EUkip’s leaders have done and the strength of the enemies they have made.

If you doubt me why not call the Barry plumber or the Press Office and establish how long after a foolish posting was made about duping people relative to a charity and hit numbers or some such was published by the pipe bender just how soon were the mainstream media onto the matter. Similarly whence do you imagine I obtained the details of Tom Wise’s renewal of bail, subsequently confirmed elsewhere.

It is interesting to note that despite the protestations for public consumption from the leadership Tom Wise is a fully paid up member of EUkip, until last week I understand he was still the Chairman of at least one EUkip branch and I understand that although he is in public denounced by Farage as chairman of the pro. EU Ind.Dem.Group he was until but a few days ago the custodian of the EUkip Ind.DemGroup battle bus which was parked up on his patch.

Interestingly I note the London Branch of EUkip now has its web site up and running provided by a member of the Libertarian Party!! Further I note that they make much of having converted a number of Tories with unpronounceable names who had gathered as a branch, these newcomers to British politics have abandoned the Tories in favour of supporting Gerald Button yet the animosity and contempt of Farage and The Desk is such that no mention of this apparent coup would seem to have appeared on the EUkip main web site – obviously The Desk’s drubbing in the Cambridge debate is more promotable!!

I wonder if the fact that Zucherman would seem to be prepared to prostitute his professional qualifications, seemingly in return for the orgasmic thrills of having a chance of being an MEP – it seems that in return for favours that keep Bannerman the desk in position and kangaroo courts orchestrated by him to ensure only puppets are permitted a voice he can expect assistance in the removal of the choclate Button who will be forced to melt away for lack of support thus Zucherman can ride the desk to their Nirvana – the feeding troughs of the gravy train in the EU.It does look very much that way from other correspondence I have received from EU sources – though as I said yesterday, on all that data I currently choose to keep my powder dry – more to rebuild UKIP than to expose and bury EUkip.

Farage old son do not flatter yourself – you are the greatest asset the BNP has at the moment and I assure you from what I hear the last thing they would want is you to loose the leadership as currently on the domestic scene as leader you are to the BNP as you are to the EU as an MEP – a recruiting sergeant and useful idiot – even your membership, as they drift away, are increasingly aware of your duplicity and just how much you have4 done to aid the Tories, the BNP and the EU.

Just look at the calibre of people you have had to gather around you to prop you up – not individuals of strength integrity and stature that would add to your possible appearance of gravitas but spivs, con men, self seekers, frauds, cheats and liars.

WELL DONE & haven’t you made a lot of enemies amongst the true patriots of Britain – had EUkip had a leader of stature a structure, training, trust and organisation just think how little the BNP, The EDP, The etc. etc. parties would have achieved.Farage – your ignorance, arrogance and lack of loyalty is so beneath contempt that you have made enemies you will NEVER escape – do you think the Wests, Pages, Abbotts, Conninghams, Suchorzewskis, Holdsworths, Harveys, Crosses, Hasslams, Warrys, Edmonds, Lawsons, Watsons, Chants, Webbs, Hockneys, Masons, deRouks, Battens, Gillmans, McWhirters, Kingscotts, Schofields, Wessons, Troy,s, Silks, Knapmanns, Youngs, Colliers, Hockneys, Norths, Steads, Butchers, Parsons, Herrons, McConnachies, Colmans, Bennett, Muirs, Padmores and so many more whom you betrayed, supporters and friends who will NEVER relent after your treatment of them?

What a sorry mess you have made of your life when those YOU believe to be your supporters and friends are supplying me with correspondence and phoning with facts to bring you and your leadership down to give UKIP a chance.

Even your various Tory friends who phone to inform me of your latest idiocies as with your stupidity with Declan Ganley that will prove so damaging to EUkip in the long run and you makre no friends in Ireland I gather with your posturings of the part you played in their opposition to the New Constitution Lisbon Treaty. A conspicuous and cowardly silence thus obliging your mates and masters in the EU and the Tory Party!

I do believe that based upon the FACTS and considering the majority, including those who support these people It is REASONABLE to describe EUkip’s self seeking venal leadership and NEC as not only clearly and provably corrupt but little more than a bunch of spivs, barrow boys and petty crooks.

EUkip is finished unless it is cleaned-up and cleaned up FAST – even then it may well not survive.

I have literally DOZENS more letters and around 100 pages of documentary provenance to back my contention and I receive authentic material from various offices in the EU which of course includes offices in participant countries.

I CHALLENGE the leadership of EUkip to a debate to defend themselves – they are by a majority beneath contempt.

Just to round up you will no doubt be disgusted to know that the unarguably dishonest, incompetent, corrupt and unprofessional Andrew Smith would seem to be working in cahoots with the cowardly and dishonest George Curtis, who so bravely lies about people when he believes his lies will not be exposed – George Curtis is clearly a liar and when I challenged him regarding some lies he had invented about me and published – he spluttered and mumbled but lacked the moral fibre to withdraw his lies and lacked the integrity to apologise – a sordid little man! It seems he makes a habit of telling lies as proven by his response regarding the lies he published about Robin Page and also I understand John West.

Do note however that the self selected, in that there was NEVER a valid vote, the self proclaimed bunch of rascals on the so called Eastern Region Committee – which you will note has received Votes of no confidence from Bedford Branch, Fenland Branch and also some 21 separate branches under the Newmarket Declaraqtion – they are now so out of touch with the party but so determined to keep their snouts in EUkip’s troughs that I understand George Curtis will be cock a hoop as Andrew Smith wants the committee to act in its own interests NOT those of the membership by having members sign a gagging order that they will not let the people they represent know what fiddles they are upto, I understand that John Saunders was not enamoured of such a gagging order in fact I gather he positively up chucked and I understand has now been widely quoted by the BNP.

This is shamefull and makes EUkip look little better than the early days of Adolph Hitler – soon no doubt they will have their own brown shirts – shaven headed chavs as enforcers!It does seem the main function of EUkip is as a recruiting sergeant for the BNP – what an obscene realisation!

No individual of ANY integrity or intelligence is likely to put his name or his money to support this crooked bunch of losers – who clearly have managed the demise of a dream sinking it in squabbling, lies, greed, distrust and corruption – no wonder their only backer of note made his money as a professional gambler – it is also worthy of note that it would seem EUkip has been unable to find a reputable British Firm of Reputable Accountants to present their books and have had to seek out a pro EU Danish woman living in Spain and it will be noted she had to be bribed at a cost of £36,000 PLUS expenses to sign the cheques on a part time basis – yet happily signed of the accounts at the business meeting when it was not just apparent but blatantly clear she had ABSOLUTELY NO KNOWLEDGE OR UNDERSTANDING of important areas of the accounts.

No wonder no one of repute has stepped forward to fund the party and it has failed to recruit a single solitary politician of credible stature – just one failed Tory MP looking for a way to keep his snout in the trough!

Greg L-W.
