Neil Hamilton and Ukip: it just wasn’t meant to be
It seems that Neil and Christine Hamilton, and their chequered history, are too embarrassing – even for Nigel Farage’s party

Earlier this year, James Landale, deputy political editor for BBC News, reported on a form doing the rounds of potential UK Independence party candidates at their conference in Torquay. It was a list of statements, asking them to declare that they had never engaged in racist behaviour, or had links to organisations that might bring the party into disrepute. * Among the statements: “I do not have any ‘skeletons in my cupboard’ that may cause me or Ukip embarrassment if they were to come out during the election.”
This seemed slightly incongruous, considering the identity of the man then leading the party’s campaign for the European elections in May. It’s debatable whether Neil Hamilton has any skeletons left in his cupboards, given the graveyard that dances around him. There is, of course, the cash-for-questions affair he was embroiled in while MP for Tatton in the 1990s – a scandal which led him to resign from his post as a minister in John Major’s government, and eventually leave parliament in disgrace, synonymous with sleaze. There is the libel suit he brought against the Guardian, which he abandoned the day before the trial was due to start in 1996, and many other embarrassing incidents in the years since. Once you have seen Hamilton stripped to the waist, cradling his wife Christine, recreating the pottery scene from the film Ghost, the image cannot be easily erased.
So perhaps it’s not surprising that, as the Observer reported this weekend, Hamilton has been dropped as Ukip’s campaigns director. With questions having been raised about Nigel Farage‘s use of EU allowances over the past few weeks – allegations that Farage calls “outrageous” – an Observer report suggests that Hamilton’s demotion stems from fears his reputation might leave Ukip vulnerable to sleaze allegations. There’s also the small matter of Hamilton’s comments about the party’s main donor, Paul Sykes, at Ukip’s conference in February. “So far, we haven’t seen the colour of his money,” he told the Observer.
In The Times earlier this year, it was reported that the Hamiltons had initially been wooed to the party by Farage, over a “four-bottle lunch” at a Westminster restaurant. Neil Hamilton was elected to the party’s National Executive Committee in 2011, but had his application to become a Ukip MEP rejected last August. Still, his star seemed on the rise. That same month, the Telegraph reported Farage was keen to make him either chief of staff or deputy secretary general of the party’s group in the European Parliament, but in February Farage referred to Hamilton as a “backroom boy”, and he has now reportedly been demoted to a regional support role. Even in a party as legendarily odd as Ukip, Neil Hamilton may have too many skeletons to bear.
Probably the most interesting part of this article is not just Nigel Farage’s natural affinity with sleaze and corruption, dishonesty & the debasement of the body politic as best shown by his personal appointments within UKIP as with his mistresses, ex or otherwise, on the tax payers’ bounty and his lies about employing family members as exposed by his funding of his wife at the expense of the tax payers, and of of course his personal appointments of some of the sleasiest and doggiest liars and associates in politics from the racial extremists he chooses to be associated with in The EFD Group and the likes of the corrupt journalist Patrick O’Flynn, the discredited and ousted Gawain Towler, the convicted benefits fraudster Clive Page, the odious and outspoken extremist & superstitious racist Gerard Batten and his slease associates, the liar and low life John Moran, the thief and embezzeler Tom Wise, the untrustworthy turncoat, liar and fraudster David Bannerman, the dishonest self publicist and fantasy whistle blower Marta Andreasen, those found guilty of abuse of public funds ordered to repay money corruptly purloined such as Jeffrey Titford, Graham Booth, Tom Wise (who shared his stolen money with Farage himself) the large sum the liar cheat and thief Derek Clark was ordered to repay, then of course tyhere is farage’s personal sewer5 rat Mark Croucher and t6he buffoon Kelly who passes for PR in Farage’s EFD Group and others of dubious merit, including Farage himself.
Even Farage’s close association with and approval of Jasna Badzak will surprise many and it will be an appointment he will much rue after the ongoing police inquiry into the sound jurisprudence of the judiciary, police and body politic in her recent questionable & seemingly contrived, so called conviction! Based on a methodology of which I am all too well aware having been the subject of UKIP dishonesty myself and indisputable false witness.
Let us not forget Farage’s other protege Alexandra Swann who has defected after Farage’s personal endorsement of her arrival who is, I am reliably informed by media associates, is it seems touting her story around the news rooms looking for a serious bidder! Can we expect Annabelle Fuller to finally pull the rug on Farage in similar fashion when the offers are adequate since it wll prove difficult for Farage to re-employ her in any capacity in the future as his friends disassociate themselves from his barrow boy tactics and efforts at self enrichment at the tax payers’ expense.
All above were personal appointments made by Nigel Farage so that as a strutting popinjay the clearly inadequate Farage could strut the farm yard and crow from the top of the dung heap he had crested around him shinning like Zirconium amongst the squalor he had created around him!Consider the claim:

Just who would this leave in UKIP’s leadership clique and its parasitic claque – its NEC and staff?
In present terms it would most clearly leave UKIP bereft of a leader, a position it looks all too clearly that the self serving Patrick O’Flynn would seemingly be lining himself up for!
It is unfortunate that bereft of charisma and most clearly an inept and poor speaker of little credibility or track record Patrick O’Flynn provides no viable leader for UKIP should he manage to oust Farage or if Farage is ousted by his own corruption.

‘Hamilton has the audacity to claim that he wishes to restore self-respect to Britain. Pot calling the kettle black is all I can say to him.’
‘UKIP are not new to corrupt figures within their organisation. Former UKIP MEP Tom Wise was sent to prison for 2 years for spending over £35,000 on cars and wine at the tax payer’s expense. Another MEP Ashley Mote was jailed for 9 months for falsely claiming over £65,000 in state benefits. I thought they would have learnt their lesson but clearly not.’

Hamilton was embroiled in the ‘cash for questions’ scandal in 1994 in which it was reported that Neil Hamilton had accepted money by the then Harrods owner Mohammed Al-Fayed to ask questions in the House of Commons. Following a campaign by anti-sleaze campaigner Martin Bell, Neil Hamilton was heavily defeated in the 1997 general election.

I was challenged on one of the various political Forums to which I contribute by an emisary of UKIP too embarrassed to use his own name, which I guess is hardly surprising in the light of the consistent failure to put forward any sort of convincing argument and having to constantly depend on spin and well more spin as obviously he is bereft of facts to call upon!
Here is his rather lame attempt to promote UKIP as some sort of relevance and my response:
I disagree. For a young party of only 20 years, I believe UKIP have done great. Sure, it has its problems, but what party doesn’t. Name one party, just one that you cannot find fault in one or more of its members. You can’t. But the people can decide for themselves, and they can do it at the ballot box.

UKIP’s progress has been nothing more than risible when you consider the fact that out of some 19,500 elected offices UKIP has had less than 30 people elected after 20 years and at a time when, as Nikki Sinclaire’s You Gov. poll shows only 30% of the electorate would vote to remain in the EU 93% of the electorate would NOT vote for UKIP.
Effectively as a large surf came in UKIP were facing the wrong way squabbling over whose board it was and thenhaving stood on the board found itself in a pipeline totally sidelined and dumpped in a complete wipe out.
Just what has UKIP actually achieved that has moved UKIP one inch closer to Leave-The-EU?
You claim that incompetent or corrupt individuals can be found in any party – perhaps you would care to identify in percentage terms who you consider to be competent, honest, transparent, with vision, strategy, tactics or competence who has proved trustworthy within UKIP leadership team and its odious parasites and sycophants.
Can you name ANY?
I profoundly disagree with your fantasy summary and the apologia you glibly proffer – somewhat like America claim that their oldest tradition is their youth! UKIP is all too fast finding its only competence is its amateur ineptitude and its youth!
As you say the people can show their opprobrium for UKIP at the ballot box as they have so consistently done for 20 years – hence only a handful of elected people out of 19,500.
Little wonder so few in UKIP understand their abject failure – could that be deliberate and a part of the reason UKIP has NEVER had a training program yet squanders members’ money on providing a chauffeur for Farage who has proudly boasted of making £Millions over and above the bribes/salary and expenses the tax payers already fund him by.
Perhaps you could locate his open and transparent accounts as promised in 1999 and at every subsequent election and the details of the professionalising he has so serially promised you can then highlight out of the many £Millions he has made what exact donations he has made to forward the aims of UKIP members to Leave-The-EU.
Perhaps you could show, relative to the over generous income and expenses received by MEPs a single one in UKIP who has made a contribution of any consequence to the party other than in self interest whereby it is often stated that 80% of the efforts of politicians and investment is expended on their own re-election. It is clearly true of UKIP.
Perhaps whilst checking you might explain why UKIP sees itself as being a part of a racist, anti Jewish, anti homosexual, corrupt and violent pro EU membership group in the EU containing members who have expressed support for Anders Breivik and Holocaust denial. The EFD comprises amongst its ranks the vile Italian racist group the Lega Nord whose members have openly advocated dressing homosexuals as rabbits and hunting and shooting them also advocated bombing boats with Africa refugees on.
You may have sufficient experience/knowledge of UKIP to recall the EFD was thrown out of UKIP’s previous group as too vile for more honourable members to associate with, who rightly and honourably threatened to leave if lega Nord remained.
You may also be unaware that in an attempt to defend the indefensible UKIP leadership invented the excuse that they had not debarred Mike Nattrass nor Trevor Colman as UKIP MEPs when they prorogued themselves from the sordid EFD Group yet de-barred Nikki Sinclaire when she did – The dishonourable and dishonest de-barring based upon lies also invented the excuse that she has historically for a brief period been bankrupt – This is of course in breech of British Law as the case is spent.
However let us accept their duplicity in distortion of the law about which they seemingly have a very scant understanding with a long list of costly court cases that have found against them funded by the members!
IF it were acceptable to de-bar a member on the grounds of bankruptcy perhaps you can explain how exactly Neil Hamilton can be so proudly presented after 6 years as a member of UKIP as some sort of ‘new out of the box’ virgin and hope for the future.
I appreciate he has all the qualifications Farage seems to seek failure in the Tories, a seedy reputation and a sycophantic adulation of the hand he hopes will feed him but I assure you Farage can not credibly deny his awareness that Neil Hamilton was a bankrupt.
Small as this detail may seem when Neil Hamilton openly states at the conference that he expects to assume an MEP seat in The South West EU Region replacing no doubt Trevor Colman and to that end without due process he is PLACED as a committee member in Wiltshire. Also is promoted as a candidate for UKIP NEC.
Acting with integrity is clearly not within the remit of UKIP yet they aspire to both represent and govern!
The most important factor of this incredible hubris is not in the arrogance and hubris itself but clearly that it has utterly undermined any attempt at defence UKIP may pretend to if Nikki Sinclaire decides to progress her case to The High Courts where there is little or no doubt she would again win and UKIP would be faced not only with huge costs but with a potential for massive damages and loss of income claims by Nikki Sinclaire and subsequently by many of her staff!
In boasting of how well UKIP has done in ONLY 20 years perhaps you can now see that UKIP has taken great hope and potential and due to venal self interest have become a part of the problem with no obvious part in the solution particularly having done all they could to act as Judas Goats to damage the one successfull Petition for an In/Out EU Referendum which fortunately Nikki Sinclaire had the competence and determination to ‘deliver’ something which UKIP has patently failed to do to date having ‘delivered’ nothing of consequence towards the aim to Leave-The-EU.
After 20 years I am also looking forward to UKIP showing it has some vision adequate to provide a sound Exit & Survival Strategy for when these United Kingdoms Leave-The-EU – it seems UKIP will, on present track record have no part in the Leave-The-EU movement being members of an EU Reformist Group The EFD.

After the embarrassing debacle of the EFD Conference and the day allocated to UKIP with its more of the same soundbites, same grouping of about 400 sold as many more and as ever implausible speeches – right down to the elderly failed Tory wheeled out on stage as the only apparent turn they could muster.
Save of course the efforts to wheel Jon Gaunt out as their Judas Goat, having failed totally to achieve anything of substance – in fact having failed to even keep his organisation up to date or with an executive staff anymore! – I’ll grant you it had been professionally & deliberately sabotaged by those Plastic EUroSceptics who having been denied the right to politically control and be in political command and make political capital for themselves set out themselves as Judas Goats to hijack the Peoples’ Pledge and turn it once again into The Politicians’ vehicle!
They lack even the gonnadic ability to admit that The Pledge has failed be it the original Pledge which Jon Gaunt has now jumped on the band waggon of seemingly a career move, possibly even hoping for a job with UKIP as with poor old Neil Hamilton!!!
Then of course there is that other failure the Marc Glendenning, Bob Crow, Labour inspired Judas Goat that has been set up as The Politicians’ vehicle with Dan Hannon and the like who seek to embarrass David Cameron.
That too has failed and crano rectally retentive as these self serving fools are preening in the mirror can they not understand they are making fools of themselves as severall weeks ago it was announced that The Petition Campaign for an in/out Referendum had reached the 100,000 target required and some whilst the Judas Goats were squabbling and trying to gain the upper hand with less than 50,000 signatures – Whilst they squabbled like Politicians the real work had been done by The Independent Nikki Sinclaire MEP with a small group of cross party MPs and MEPs THEY DELIVERED whilst the Plastic EUroSceptics acted like Judas Goats to sabotage the Petition concept THEY FAILED.
On Thursday last Nikki Sinclaire MEP and her supporters DELIVERED 100,000+ Signatures to Drowning Street and officially to The Rump Parliament at Westminster.
I note with interest Team Farage have systematically shot themselves in the foot – It was their well publicised intent to bring Nikki Sinclaire back into the fold having found themselves at risk of a staggeringly costly High Court action with the huge damages potential to follow!
As I predicted – an apology was issued to ameliorate the guilty verdict where the Courts found against Nigel Farage, Godfrey Bloom and UKIP in favour of Nikki Sinclaire.
I predicted huge efforts would be made to try to capitalise on her achievements since she disassociated herself from the extremist and vile EFD Group and the Farage Party Faction’s persuit of personal revenue!
I predicted all would be overtures UNTIL the EFD Conference was over (YES EFD as UKIP was willing to jump through any EU hoop and give the EU dream [Nightmare] credibility in return for the EU funding their conference!) – I then said the pretend deal would start to unravel.
It may amuse watchers of the sordid dishonesty of UKIP Leadership claque that they made much of TRYING to portray Nikki Sinclaire as unfit by virtue of a technical bankruptcy which Farage’s gutter rat had routed out in the sewers of his life – for which he, Mark Croucher, tried to claim glory when it was years earlier that I had provided the details and the fact that it was a complete irrelevancy pre dating her appointment to any office.
Strangely it has been made clear and deliberately leaked that UKIP will, if Nikki Sinclaire proceeds to The High Court, claim they suspended her right to represent UKIP BECAUSE she was once years ago a bankrupt.
Intertestingly this just won’t wash and digs the hole even deeper for UKIP!
Firstly it was public domain, irrelevant and common knowledge that she had been bankrupt when Nigel Farage as leader selected her as a candidate in an MEP constituency. Yet astonishingly the febrile excuse for his having lied about her and defamed her to get rid of her as a UKIP MEP when he forced his puppet Malcolm Pearson to write that scurrilous letter and outright lie was that she had to be removed as she had once in the past been a bankrupt and that she was discharged as a bankrupt years ago was irrelevant.
This was used as the excuse for firing her yet not firing Mike Nattrass or Trevor Colman who had also had sufficient integrity to leave the racist, extremist and violent EFD Group, yet not firing them!
So I guess Neil Hamilton will mnever be able to be an MEP or on The NEC and of course he will have to be fired from his position as the new Muppet of Wiltshire or whatever Farage calls his Branch/Regional appointed Chairmen who have never been elected and get parachuted in for his gain!
Although Neil Hamilton has been a member of UKIP for 6 years and is a Bankrupt Farage has a rule for people he can make money out of and another rule for people who challenge his corruption I guess!
Well it is The Farage Fund Raising Party I guess – but I guess that will cost UKIP members 10s of £1,000 when it comes to the High Court but why should Farage worry when UKIP received £8,500 compensation for an error in The Sunday Times that of course will have gone to Farage and when the Bills come in for his many lost Court cases those Bills go to the members!
What a charlatan Nigel Farage is but as I have always said Farage is UKIP’s greatest liability with his salaried sex life, drunken thieves on the staff, consorting with prostitutes and well known drunken reveries but he is also their only assett as he has made sure by surrounding himself with the weak, the venal and the corrupt, liars, cheats and bullies.
Not one of the leadership team is other than the scum that has risen in the septic tank Farage has built.

Hamilton bids for a seat at the UKIP top table
Is Neil Hamilton planning a return to frontline politics?
The ex-Tory MP, who lost his parliamentary seat in 1997 following the cash-for-questions scandal, has put himself up for election to the UK Independence Party’s national executive council, a possible springboard to standing as a UKIP MP in the future.
The former MP for Tatton has been a low-key member of the party for a year. “Before, I didn’t have time, but now I’ve decided to get more involved.” With his wife Christine, Hamilton became an unlikely celebrity, appearing on shows such as Have I Got News For You and The Weakest Link, as well as performing in pantomimes, and gigs at the Edinburgh Festival from which the couple have just returned.
The vexed issue that has stirred him into action is the Tories’ flip-flopping over Europe. “The Conservative Party are going nowhere on Europe,” he says.
“They should have delivered on the promises William Hague and David Cameron gave before the election, where they sought a repatriation of powers from Europe.
But the first thing Hague did when he was made Foreign Secretary was to say we wouldn’t be doing that.” UKIP is to hold its annual party conference in Eastbourne from September 8, with the results of the postal vote for the NEC due later in the autumn.Hamilton has lost none of his political skills.
Asked if he would stand as an MP, he dodged the question. “I’m 62,” he said. “Who knows?”
