I thought it might be a change to quote from Roger Helmer’s blog:
A new YouGov poll shows a clear majority of voters in favour of leaving the EU: 52% want to leave, against only 30% who want to stay in. Amongst Conservative voters, that ratio rises to 66 against 22 — a three-to-one majority.
The poll was commissioned by Nikki Sinclaire, a former UKIP MEP, now independent (and thus a standing monument to UKIP’s factionalism, which has seen several resignations from their MEP ranks).
Ms. Sinclaire may well have her own axe to grind — indeed she certainly does.
But nonetheless the poll was conducted by YouGov, no doubt with their usual impeccable professionalism, so I think we have to accept the result.
The poll also shows that 60% of the public (74% of Conservative voters) want an In/Out EU referendum, while only 25% (19% of Tories) don’t.
I put it to David Cameron some time ago that the great majority of Conservatives disagreed with his view that British membership of the EU was in our national interest, and that perhaps he as Party Leader ought to take this into account.
His reply was uncompromising: he didn’t want an In/Out referendum, because (again) he believed membership was in our national interest.
But you don’t have referenda merely to confirm your prejudices. You have referenda to give the people their chance to have a say. There’s something uncomfortably paternalistic in saying, in effect “I won’t let you have your say on this question, because you disagree with my settled opinion, and I happen to know that I’m right and you’re wrong”.

The are obliged to accept OUR definition of a democracy down the barrel of a gun or be killed. Britain on the otherhand is denied such a concept as it would overturn the corruption that is managed and controlled by the self serving politicians and their parasites.
Roger, given Cameron’s response, what have you actually done about it? If nothing so far, what are you actually going to do about it?
This blog post appears to be nothing more than another ‘tick in the box’, the latest in a long line of gestures that do nothing other than convince your supporters you are ‘sound’ on the EU subject. More people are beginning to ask, to coin a phrase, where’s the beef?
You like to highlight and explain things, so why not post a piece on here explaining to your supporters why you are comfortable with Conservative MPs who claim to be opposed to our EU membership voting in favour of integrationist measures in the House?
Are they just a faction, or are all Tories completely untrustworthy and impotent when it comes to doing what the people they represent want them to do?
I’m somewhat taken aback by what comes across as a very aggressive attitude towards Roger.
You are referring to Roger supporting Chris Heaton-Harris and his initiative to promote an anti-EU group amongst tory MPs. You shot from the hip then without bothering to check your facts – are you now embarrassed by your journalistic failure and doing whatever you can to paper over the cracks?
I have in the past had respect for your blog – but I’m losing that, fast.
What exactly do you suppose Roger can do? It’s a matter of record that Roger has lost the whip in the past for his stance. He is a conscience politician who is not afraid to speak it like it is. But he’s not superman!
What should be obvious to you right now is that Cameron and Osborne do not listen to anybody so why moan at Roger because he hasn’t persuaded them to change their mind? What can he do that you can’t? Why haven’t you as an influential political blogger forced Cameron into an EU referendum? Where, Autonomous Mind, is your beef?

How come politicians in government never seem to feel the breeze of public opinion wafting around their heads? I am fascinated by the fact that oft times, said public opinion when as forceful as this, turns out to be right. Let’s face it, is it likely that so many people could be wrong? It only takes someone to formulate and present a plan for the safe and economically acceptable withdrawal of England (the UK?) from the EU and there would be even fewer dissenters to the idea of a referendum on the subject and fewer people who want to be European.

I wonder howmany remember the ‘trustees’ in Auschwitz – as Jews aiding their captors they survived for as long as they willingly filled and emptied the the ‘showers’ and the incinerators. Perhaps they were hoping that the SS would have a change of heart in 40 or so years time!
It is now over 40 years since we first heard the mantra that ‘we mustn’t startle the horses’ and ‘we can change the party’.
I wonder how many others see something of a similarity!
The Tories even came up with the ludicrous slogan: ‘In EUrope but not ruled by Europe’. I expect many of the ‘trustees’ had their cantors chanting: ‘In the gas chamber but not breathing’, for them!

Hi,
another sound offering well backed up with detailed figures and an independent third party Poll by You Gov commissioned by Nikki Sinclaire in representation of the wishes of the British electorate and her constituents.
The speech is clearly impromtue though scheduled – sadly in all the years of UKIP there has never been a competent training programme so the public speaking ability is confined to those with a natural ability.
One has to ask if this was deliberate, on the part of Nigel Farage, to ensure that despite his embarrassing lack of OQ and total lack of leadership skills he dared not train good people in the organisation with the aim to make them excellent as they might seem a challenge.
Thus Nigel Farage outshone those around him.
Did he ensure mediocrity and incompetence, corruption and dishonesty, amongst his leadership team?
The corruption and dishonesty of the likes of Stuart Agnew, Tom Wise, Gerard Batten, Mick McGough, David Bannerman, Marta Andreasen, Douglas Denny, David Lott, Jim Carver, Andrew Smith, Clive Page, Mark Croucher, Peter Reeve, Gawain Towler, George Curtis and the like, together with their naked ambition, being the hold he had over them and thereby the control.
In dishonestly being forced out of UKIP by Nigel Farage and his muppets it does seem that Nikki Sinclaire has very clearly benefitted as have her constituents and in the light of the professionalism and hard work she clearly brings to her work she has indeed made UKIP look embarrassingly lack luster as they endlessly navel gaze and squabble for lack of professionalism and sound leadership.
Let us not forget the huge achievement of Nikki Sinclaire in achieving 100,000 signatures despite the efforts of UKIP to undermine and challenge her Petition for a Referendum – the best UKIP ever achieved was around 14,000 signatures in a tax payer funded scam run on a half baked and incompetent campaign where over £1/4Million of public money was seemingly stolen, as David Lott, Nigel Farage and Mark Croucher who were running the scam were unable to account for either the money or the signatures!
Whether coincidence or not we may never know but subsequently Nigel Farage banked around £200,000+ in an off shore bank account styled ‘Farage Educational Trust’ or some such, David Lott purchased a substantial property on Romsey Marshes on route to France I gather and Mark Croucher having endlessly pleaded poverty purchased the rights of two public houses which he subsequently bankrupted or went bust on presumable due to either due to his proven natural dishonesty or his inate incompetence. .

These results are not a surprise to me and show once again that the European Union is out of step with the wishes of the ordinary person in the street. – I and, seemingly many women, find positive discrimination patronising
I believe passionately in equality of treatment and opportunity for all but true equality will come when people are promoted because of ability and commitment not because of EU led social engineering.

Signatures obtained despite the fact of the many Judas Goats urinating on the bushes to try to mark out a territory and save themselves the embarrassment of being shown for indolent self serving, smug, arrogant parasites gorging themselves at the expense of their country with their paid newspaper columns, funded lecture tours and other scams for self enrichment.
I gather the You Gov Poll has been sent to every single Tory MEP who are quite clearly self serving arrogant fools.
NOT ONE was democratically elected they were merely the only choice offered in a corrupt list system.

You may have missed a YouGov poll that I commissioned a few weeks ago that showed for the first time a clear majority of the UK population (52%) wish to leave the EU with only 30% who would vote to stay in.
The question was independently set by YouGov. Please find attached the YouGov report.
As you embark on your parliamentary work you might wish to consider: The breakdown from Conservative voters. 74% want a referendum and 66% would vote to leave the EU.

earlier today I heard word that UKIP Stockton-on-Tees Branch was shut down!
Perhaps this flurry of inactivity was the reason that it seems no one from UKIP was in The EU Parliament today – no doubt they were permitting vile extremists like The Lega Nord and their other extremist partners in The EFD represent the UKIP electorate!
I am forced to assume after making complete fools of themselves and prosecuting a case in defence of their idiotic behaviour rather than acting honourably and intelligently with regard to Alan Hardy, as reported on this blog previously (See the Right Sidebar for LINKS) – they then went on and incurred expenses of around £30K to loose the apeal as was predicted on sound legal grounds by this blog and others!
In what seems to be a childish fit of pique it seems they have shut down The Stockton-on-Tees branch of which Alan Hardy was a member!
So it seems they have squandered over £30,000, have accrued two more Guilty verdicts, had to pay compensation to Alan Hardy and reinstate him.
Even now in what seems a childish fit of tantrum they have shut Stockton-on-Tees branch in a city with a population of around 186,000 – I guess UKIP can afford to ignore that many voters – Just as they did when Nigel Farage ignored the NEC, Policy and the voters of Wales with his divisive invention of a new policy of his own thus trashing any vague hope UKIP had of increased representation in Wales!
No doubt Gordon Parkin will be pleased with this childish action in his fiefdom as Regional Organiser! One wonders who will be pleased with the branch funds of members contributions of £1,000 or so! . .

1. IN THE BEGINNING
The first leader of UKIP, when it was founded towards the end of 1993, was Dr. Alan Sked who was, and still is (as far as I know), a senior lecturer at the London School of Economics. In 1994 Farage proposed that the party endeavour to campaign for UKIP to have MEP representation in the European Parliament. Dr. Sked was adamantly opposed to this proposal, as he thought it would indicate that the United Kingdom had agreed to be subservient to the European Union. Farage’s argument was that UKIP MEPs would generate income for the party and doors, which would otherwise remain closed to our party, would be opened. Farage won the day and Dr. Sked, together with several others, including Colin Bullen (who went on to be a leading light in The Campaign for an Independent Britain), resigned from UKIP.
So, right from the start, Farage has been hugely influential in the policies adopted by UKIP. Indeed, he has been either leader or de facto leader of the party ever since.
All political movements need a figurehead and Farage fulfils that role for UKIP. His energy and passion attract many, particularly the young, and his utilisation of the power of on-line social networking, and especially the online video sharing programme, YouTube, which show his passionate exchanges in the European Parliament to the generally younger viewers.
Without doubt, the fortunes of UKIP are closely linked with the style of leadership and management abilities of Farage, so let us have a look at the history of the party’s ups and downs over the past 17 years. ————
Dr. Alan Sked resigned as leader of the party in July 1997 and named the then Party Chairman and Treasurer, Craig Mackinlay, as leader. Mackinlay decided that the only way to keep the party going was to rework its constitution and hold a leadership election. Mackinlay, Gerald Roberts, and Michael Holmes stood, with the backing of Farage. Michael Holmes easily won and appointed Mackinlay as his deputy.
Craig Mackinlay resigned from UKIP in 2005 and joined the Conservative Party. I do not have any information on his reasons for leaving UKIP.
Michael Holmes, having won the leadership election in 1997 was, in the same year, elected as an MEP representing the South West. In the same election Farage was elected as an MEP in the South East. As a result of a power struggle, precipitated by an unfortunate remark by Michael Holmes in the European Parliament, and his dismissal of Craig Mackinlay and Tony Scholefield from the NEC, which generated a vote of no confidence in Holmes, he stepped down as leader in 2000.
However, it should be noted that, under Michael Holmes leadership, the membership of UKIP doubled.
Jeffrey Titford was elected as the new leader of UKIP, beating Rodney Atkinson (brother of the comedian Rowan Atkinson) by 15 votes and, again, Farage had backed the winner.
Many believed that Titford should have appointed Rodney Atkinson as deputy leader or, at least, to a position of responsibility within the party. However, because Rodney Atkinson had exposed Conrad Black (who at that time owned the Telegraph group of newspapers) as a member of the Bilderberg Group, Conrad Black put UKIP under pressure not to appoint Rodney Atkinson to a position of authority within UKIP. ———— Greg_L-W. said…

largely Derek Hunnikin’s compilation of documents presents facts – there are however areas that are both fancifull and misleading.

Whoever wrote this it is clearly bunkum. May I commend as one source Robert Gaylon Ross Sr. in his excellent publication of 1994 updated in 1995 Who’s Who of the Elite’ ISBN 0-9649888-0-1
Conrad Black is clearly listed from his first visit to a Bilderberg Meeting as a member and also as a member of The trilateral Commission.
Rodney Atkinson can nopt lay claim to exposing this as it was a well documented and well known fact.
That Bill Jamieson & Christopher Booker as well respected journalists who had ardently supported both the EUroSceptic cause and UKIP Both unequivocally announced they would be unable to support UKIP if Atkinson became leader is clear – it is both fancifull and dishonest to imply this statement was made on the instruction of Black!
As I said I have published the DH compilation though there are some glaring errors – I have done so in good faith as a record of perceived facts as they are quoted.
I endorse the main thrust but clearly it carries errors.

Derek Hunnikin’s UKIP papers
Derek Hunnikin joined UKIP in 1995 twelve years before I did. He sent me a series of documents detailing the unsavoury history of UKIP’s hierarchy from 1995 to date. His email address is

I have never met Mike Nattrass and I know nothing of his views. I think UKIP’s best hope lies with Nikki Sinclaire, whom I have met, and who has been very active with her referendum campaign. I know some of her other political views do not play well with some of UKIP’s core support but I urge them to concentrate on the big issue of leaving the EU and not be beguiled by a sterile left wing right wing argument. One of the most effective and articulate opponents of the EU in the UK is Bob Crow, the far left, rail worker’s leader!
One of the most telling comments in the dossier came from Robin Page who makes the point he was voted onto the governing body of the National Trust against the wishes of the NT establishment only after the NT stared using the Electoral Reform Society to conduct is ballots. On the NEC I fought for UKIP to use the ERS for all UKIP elections.I was bad mouthed by Farage, Whittaker, Derek Clarke, Denny etc who clearly had their own agenda in these matters and deliberately mis-represented the service the ERS offered at a very competitive price..
I publish below the reply I have sent to Derek based on my own experience.

Thank you very much for sending me copies of the above. It must have taken a great deal of time and effort on your part to do this and I wholeheartedly thank you for this. I read all your documents and learned a great deal from them as I only joined UKIP in 2007!
I had worked for the UK government in the period 71/73 when Heath pushed through the Common Market Accession Act with a succession of dirty tricks. I thought then when I resigned from the Civil Service I had seen it all, that was until I met Nigel Farage!
Looking at the latest list of those standing for the NEC my heart sinks. Farage supporters and wannabe MEPs predominate.
Tim Congdon is a good man and excellent academic economist but lacks the ability to talk to ordinary people. Gerard Batten turns to jelly when opposed by Farage. John Bufton is ill and I doubt Trevor Colman wants to stand again given the villification he has had from SW committee members. William Legge, the belted Earl, is another Bannerman. He simply wants a political career after the Tories had multiply rejected him. Worse, his paid ‘minder’ is Malcolm Wood a long term associate of Farage who shares many of Farage’s characteristics.
I am sorry I have not been more help to you but my energies have been diverted to helping my wife and her French property these last six months. I agree with most of your sentiments and views on UKIP.
UKIP is the only political party I have ever been a member of and through it I met many fine people whom I still count as my friends. It is sad, but not surprising, to realise from your dossier that my UKIP experience merely repeated the experiences of those who had gone before and that if by chance in future any non – Farage supporter is elected onto the NEC list or MEP list I fear they will suffer the same fate!
I was elected both to the NEC and MEP SW slate on the democratic vote of UKIP members. UKIP is not a democratic party but a Farage cult and hence can never have any impact on UK politics

thanks for the well wishes. Despite 3 months of chemo and 20 doses of Radio Therapy it would seem they have failed to make me one fraction as ill as they had expected nor even lose my hair!!
I do not advocate the energy levels such treatment leaves in its wake but without the treatment I would have lost my 13 year battle with cancer in about June or July!
The one lesson to learn for others is that life is much too short for cheap wine and there is no doubt laughter is the best medicine, particularly when self deprecating!!

Mea Culpa!
I was phoned up and told of this posting by the author on the day it was written and then forgot to post it or link it.
Though it is now a week late it is none the less prescient!
The Conference is approaching fast an UKIP has nothing but divisive arguments to show for itself and partners who openly applauded Anders Breivik!
At a cost of £Millions often weeks pass without activity of any note and publicity is most common of scandals and low life behaviour from the likes of Annabelle Fuller, Godfrey Bloom, Nigel Farage in their drink soddened culture.
No doubt there will be desperate moves for the sake of show at the conference to rehabilitate the likes of Trevor Colman who has made no secret of his contempt for Nigel Farage and how Farage must be hoping that after his prolonged holiday in Portugal Mike Nattrass may opt, as last year, to vanish to the Phillipines for a further prolonged holiday!
The play acting at the conference will be all too similar to the conference one year when the ONLY publicity UKIP received was a pack of lies from Annabelle Fuller who duped Farage into endorsing – dishonest as they were! Then there was the year when the only notable publicity was regarding Nigel Farage’s testicles.
Time for another plane crash so The Messiah can be seen walking on water perhaps – sadly UKIP seems never to be taken seriously by the media but then again what have they done that is of Serious value?
Will we see an Autumn blooming of a love in by Farage of Nikki Sinclaire for harmony sake (WELL ACTUALLY so that Farage can lay claim to her successes, particularly well over 100,000 signatures to HER Petition for a Referendum, a subject on which Farage spiked UKIP’s guns and seemingly did all in his power to help The EU) – well with his track record of dishonesty and incompetence that should last till the following week before the Court Case!
Farage has a litigious bent there is no doubt – just think how much better off the Party would be if he hadn’t been such a consistent loser!
There is a touch of Labour supporter in Nigel Farage for as Margaret Thatcher said ‘The trouble with socialism is it soon runs out of other peoples’ money’!
You will note Farage has still made no effort to honourably acquit his debt of around £12.1/2K to me – a constant source of shame to UKIP.

Where is UKIP?
We haven’t mentioned UKIP for a while because we have seen very little happen recently.
The only person we see in the press doing something appears to be the ex-Farage sychophant Nikki Sinclaire MEP (who has since fallen out with her Leader and is standing as an Independent) and seems to be earning her money. As for the rest, who knows?
Interestingly, many UKIP members are also turning on their Leader, as shown by his recent defeat of 2 to 1 against his PEP Membership Proposal.
How can the Leader of UKIP think it viable and acceptable to want to remain part of, and actively participate in, the very entity which it originally swore to extricate itself from???
“Jobs for the Boys” spring to mind yet again.
If only UKIP was led by a (Congressman) Ron Paul type, Uncorruptable, Defender of the Rule of Law, devout follower of the Constitution and a belief in “Real Money” and tight Monetary Control.
Surely UKIP members must see, that its MEPs have been corrupted by the allure of the EU bribe – even John Bufton MEP was caught on camera 2 years ago for claiming his Parliamentary Attendance Allowance on a Friday, when the Parliament doesn’t sit – and we thought he was one of the most honest and moral of the bunch.
Unless someone of vision steps forward soon and is supported by UKIP members and the general public at large, we shall all be entrapped by the EU Tyranny.

What a tragedy that UKIP without competent leadership has so totally failed to have its message heard with no vision, no strategy & no training they are sadly destined to continue to be irrelevant – merely a fig leaf of democracy in a collapsing centralised dictatorship.
UKIP must find a leader of competence to exploit Farage’s performances.

I am seriously sick and tired of the toe rags and excrement that UKIP fields to lie and berate those who seek to expose the corruption and clean up UKIP.
Lets for a change look at the lies of Nigel Farage – as presented here in his embarrassing performance on BBC Hard Talk where he repeatedly lies on point after point, where he fails utterly to convince.
Very little of what Nigel Farage says in this video is true. As of course the informed will know whilst the gullible will be stupid enough to believe anything!
The selection process of Ashley Mote was without a doubt shoddy, and Farage merely put him in place removing David Lott as number two (a wise move when you consider the idiocy and dishonesty of David Lott, had UKIP checked on the facts regarding Ashley’s pending Court Case!) just as without democratic input Farage PLACED the dishonest and discreditted Marta Andreasen as his number two displacing Steve Harris when she was a proven liar and an inelligible candidate!
Similarly Farage colluded in the corrupt process that place the dishonourable and untrustworthy liar David Bannerman as lead candidate and thus MEP!
Farage goes on to claim that Tom Wise was sacked immediately his criminal behaviour was known and Farage claims the credit!
Farage NEVER sacked Tom Wise – Farage’s puppet Douglas Denny did everything in and beyond his power and authority to lie and defame others to protect Tom Wise. Tom Wise remained a UKIP MEP sitting with the UKIP group until he RESIGNED long after his criminality was exposed just as he continued to be a UKIP member until after his membership ran out in the last February of his tenure of office just before the elections – some 4 years after his criminality was exposed.
Further Farage’s staff solicited him to renew his membership and also asked him for donations – this is Farage’s staff, Farage NEVER having made a donation of substance in 18 years!
Tom Wise was aided and abetted in his criminality seemingly in exchange for a sum of several £1,000s which he GAVE to Farage from the money he stole to settle Nigel Farage’s debts with Lindsay Jenkins!!
Unlike Nigel Farage – Never once in my life has ANYONE established that I have EVER told a material lie or set out to deceive anyone, yet the scum gathered around this serial liar Farage constantly seek to defame and lie about me.
You will note also that in this video clip Nigel Farage lies about the £2 Million he boasted of receiving – he has NEVER to this day provided remotely transparent accounts and nor have UKIP.
Many will remember Farage’s idea of transparent accounts is to pay a chum £6,000 to write up a set of accounts for his OFFICE in a converted barn that is provided free of charge by a gullible patriot, with a staff of 3 working out of the office and their salaries paid by The EU nowadays previously there was a book entry of £211,000 expenses out of just over £400,000 that went through the account as declared!
£211,000 for sundry expenses!!!! For Steve Harris, David Samuel-Camps and the girl servicing in the kitchen that sure is a hell of a lot of paper towels
Then we see Farage desperately trying to lie his way out of the criticism of John West – do bear in mind it was that slut Annabelle Fuller who, as an employee of Farage posted John West’s video on You tube in flagrant disregard for data protection or common decency – as to non credible and litigious do remember UKIP aka Nigel Farage lost every single case John West brought.
Interestingly Leading Councel when asked for his opinion on this particular video and the dishonest and defamatory remarks made regarding John West advised against litigation as although he would almost certainly win it was very unlikely that damages would be adequate to cover costs as Farage would not be seen as consequential and thus to be defamed by him would be inconsequential in the eyes of the law. It was amusing to hear a leading QC or repute describing Farage as irrelevant and not considered credible – hardly surprising I guess in view of his irrelevance in politics.
Do not forget that Nigel Farage’s employee, for it is he who controls ALL of the mainline staff in UKIP Mark Croucher, aided and abetted by the then deputy leader of UKIP Paul Nuttall and the press officer Clive Page who set out with the dishonest aim of preventing me from publishing the truth and the facts about UKIP and its corruption by the likes of Tom Wise, John Moran, Derek Clark, Douglas Denny, David Bannerman, Mick McGough, Mark Croucher, David Lott, Stuart Agnew, Marta Andreasen and other sordid individuals and the like – UKIP lost that Court case too having used Mark Croucher as the ‘front man’.
In flagrant disregard for British justice to this day UKIP have not acquitted their debt honourably and have reneged on their debt to me of around £12,500 just as the low life and liar Mark Croucher has shown contempt for British Justice with the aid of UKIP and has failed to pay the Courts £8,500 as awarded.
That UKIP has now been in British politics for 18 years and that it has firstly never had a leader of any competence, leadership skills, professional ability or fundamental Officer Quality – merely a succession of jumped up Corporals of no gravitas and less competence is sad – that in 18 years it has not a single achievement of note based upon its own merit or ability merely success at getting elected in foreign elections considered correctly to be of absolutely no consequence – The ONLY achievement to date!
Britain is neither an inch nor a centimeter closer to leaving The EU as a direct result of UKIP and in 18 years it hasn’t even come up with a plan as it has no vision, hasn’t devised a strategy as it has no clear aim and has no tactics for lack of communication and training!
UKIP in 18 years has failed totally to devise even the simplest of workable exit and survival strategies and can arguably be shown to be further from influence at local or national government level due to the damage it has done itself with its lies, childish name calling, cheating and crass behaviour. Not to mention serial fraud and dishonest attempts to defame its legitimate critics. . .
