I guess it is fair to comment that Ukip are not alone in having sex pests and sex offenders in their ranks – we are all too well aware that politics is, like show business, riddled with such offenders.
However I can think of no instance where someone so seniour in any other party has been arrested since Jeremy Thorpe in the old Liberal Party – which has subsequently all but dropped out of sight with no MPs, no MEPs and just a few councillors of little note left.
For Ukip to have its Scottish Chairman arrested is significant – even if Ukip is all but insignificant and little more than an embarrassment north of the border!
Ukip has been pretty much a disaster in Scotland since Heather Conyngham was dispatched to Scotland with virtually no resources and dependent on her personal skills to drag Scotland into existence for Ukip. Then Ukip Scotland had the embarrassment of internal feuding, the incautious move of permitting Tom Wise to part fund the operation from his expenses/allowances as an MEP in the East Midlands, not to mention a period under the charmanship and lead of the implausible and scattly Christopher Monkton culminating one would have hoped with the embarrassment of Ukip’s list man David Coburn being elected as an MEP.

As if to add insult to injury now their chaiman has been forced to stand down under investigation as a sex pest!
Even Nigel Farage’s forays over the border have proved fairly catastrophic, having annoyed the locals to such an exptent he had to be rescued (unsurprisingly from a pub) by the police!
Ukip’s Scottish chairman steps down after facing six sex call charges
Thackeray, 55, faces six charges under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act.
He is charged under a section which says it is an offence “to send a sexual verbal communication to another person without their consent”.
Police detained Thackeray on the morning of Friday, January 22. It’s understood he spent the weekend in the cells.
Thackeray then appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court on the Monday. He made no plea or declaration and was granted bail.
He is expected to return to court at a later date. Prosecutors have a year to bring him to trial.
Thackeray has been a prominent figure for UKIP in Scotland in recent years.
He stood as his party’s candidate for Glasgow East in last May’s general election, coming fourth with 1105 votes.
And he appeared in a BBC Scotland “leaders’ debate” 10 days before the poll, taking on Labour’s Kezia Dugdale, Stuart Hosie of the SNP, Tory Annabel Goldie, Jo Swinson of the Lib Dems and Green MSP Patrick Harvie.
He has now stepped down as UKIP Scotland chairman while the criminal case is resolved.
Asked about Thackeray yesterday, UKIP leader Nigel Farage said: “I’ve heard about it. I’m not going to comment.” He then put the phone down.
A UKIP spokesman said it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing case.
Thackeray wasn’t at his modern home in Springboig in Glasgow’s east end yesterday. A neighbour said he was often away and added: “When he’s here he doesn’t answer the door anyway.
“He doesn’t say much. He sometimes turns up in a car with a woman.”
Thackeray used to run a group of security and investigation companies. And in 2014, he admitted UKIP had spied on their opponents in Scotland.
He said the party hired private detectives during the referendum campaign and used Polish immigrants to infiltrate anti-UKIP groups.
Groups thought to have been targeted include Radical Independence and Unite Against Fascism.
Opponents called the tactics sinister but Thackeray said they would “definitely” be used again in the general election campaign.
He also claimed to have gone under cover for the party himself. He said: “As someone who’s done a lot of covert work, it was nothing.”
Police said: “A 55-year-old man has been arrested and detained in connection with alleged offences under section seven of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Yes it is a miracle that I have survived having had several types of cancer5 over a 15 year period – which to date, much to the astonishment of my consultants, I have survived – despite several occasions when they have pronounced a very short expectation of survival. Hi,
although I am aware that there have been and will be claims of internet hacking by the members of UKIP, a Party undeniably linked with racism, when they are caught out in racist rants or other imature & crass behaviour.
Such claims fall into the catagory of ‘they would say that wouldn’t they‘ and thus render the claims of hacking or being misquoted all too implausible.
That UKIP’s candidates who were elected are in the main both insignificant and unheard of makes the claims yet more implausible as ‘hacking’ is a complex and skilled task and there seems every likelihood that no one of significance has been able to prove, in any way, that they have been hacked. Who exactly could be bothered hacking such irelevant individuals – frankly I incline not to believe this widespread claim of hacking!
You must draw your own conclusions but note that major national media outlets have a small army of lawyers who vet material to ensure its veracity and if there is genuine doubt they would rather spike a true story than risk facing the courts in a libel case where the courts tend to award disproportionate compensation to the ranks of nebishes bringing claims, despite the fact that their case would have required around £100,000 to be paid up front to fund front end costs in the High Courts!

Ukip’s Chris Pain, leader of the opposition at Lincs Council and the party’s East Midlands regional chairman, wrote: “Have you noticed that if you rearrange the letters in ‘illegal immigrants’, and add just a few more letters, it spells, ‘Go home you free-loading, benefit-grabbing, resource-sucking, baby-making, non-English-speaking ********* and take those other hairy-faced, sandal-wearing, bomb-making, camel-riding, goat-********, raghead ******** with you.’”
Mr Pain has also objected to foreign doctors working in the NHS.
Last May he posted a story about a Hungarian medic who bungled an operation on a four-year-old boy in Manchester, and wrote: “We don’t want them taking all the jobs in the local community and we certainly don’t want them working in our hospitals!”
Peter Entwistle, party chairman in Bury, Greater Manchester, labelled President Barack Obama a Muslim, writing: “I bet he’s a closet ‘Imam’ as well!
“If I ever see him on a Greyhound bus wearing a rucksack, I’m getting off!!”

The party’s deputy chairman in Scotland, Misty Thackeray, “liked” a Facebook group claiming “paedophilia is part of Islamic tradition”.
He also praised far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders, a self-confessed “hater of Islam”.
Recommending Mr Wilders’ new book, he said: “Geert is great …(peace be upon him.. lol) ..!”
Meanwhile Tiggs Keywood-Wainwright, a Ukip councillor in Boston, Lincs, complained about mosques being built in “quintessentially English” Cambridge. “Is nowhere sacred for the Brits in Britain any more?” she wrote.
“Bottom line is we have too many muslims in this country!”
Mr Pain said the comments on his Facebook pages were “not my original posts or writings”, claiming his account had been hacked.
Mr Entwistle laughed when confronted about his President Obama bus comments, saying: “I don’t think I’d be the only one getting off.”

Farage described demonstrators who besieged him in Edinburgh on Thursday as “fascist scum”.
He also slammed the phone down on a BBC interviewer questioning him about Scots issues.
That Nigel Farage found himself the4 victim of some of the abusive low life inadequates that seem all too prevalent in Scotland comes as no surprise to me having personally been dishonestly and corruptly abused in efforts to defame the facts I have published by some of the all too similar scum such as Matt Quinn, George McKendrick and a host of other vile Scottish ne’er do wells and failed personalities with their inadequacies writ large in bile in the manner they bear chips on both shoulders! Just look on the internet and you will find their cyber bullying and dishonest abuse all to readily!
That Nigel Farage played right into the hand of these cowardly parasites is indisputable with the overt racism, anti homosexuality, xenophobia and misogyny of the partners he chose for UKIP as its allies in The EU and increasingly it seems he chose as candidates within his own party as shown by the recent resignations amongst his all too small group of recently elected Councillors (a mere 147 out of the 1,700+ which he fielded!). There is no one of notable abil;ity in UKIP’s team in Scotland bar some fool of a pretend member of The House of Lords and perhaps one could count Malcolm Lord Pearson of Rannoch who not only proved utterly inept as Nigel Farage’s pupopet leaderr during the ‘Berkow’ debacle where Farage did so badlt but also Pearson was exposed as both disloyal and a liar!
Then of course there is the ex army Corporal who takes center stage to make UKIP Scotland a figure of farce with his idiotic misrepresentation of law as a so called ‘freeman of the Land’ of which there is no such legal entity and as a gullible gutter scraper with his utterly corrupt claims of veracity in the fantasies of Anne Greig & Robert Green regarding the febrile tissue of lies they have built around the sad figure of Hollie Greig (for facts and details CLICK HERE) – actions by which he clearly brings UKIP into disrepute on both sides of the Tartan Curtain!
With so little understanding of Scotland and its politics, much of which is based on Scotland’s own fantasy history and a warped understanding of both politics and international commerce; which has driven a bitter wedge of folly and hatred based on envy between Scotland and her allies Farage stood little chance of coming out of his recent misguided foray North unscathed.
I write as one who has both lived and worked in Scotland, where my parental home for over 20 years was Wester Ross!

Hi,
this blog is pleased to announce that quite deliberately it declined to become embroilled in the UKIP publicity stunt and exploitation of the seeming Social Services gaffe of one individual as presented as we were not aware of adequate facts and felt there was a rather unpleasant stench of opportunism and exploitation of vulnerable children.
It starts to look as if we were right!
My instincts were set on edge originally, long before this unfortunate behaviour, by the UKIP candidate in Rotheram – a political prostitute being touted from constituency to constituency without the mandate of even the party it seemed as they were selected due to their relationship to an existing UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom, a drunken libertine oaff who had bought his way into position via another louche lush!
One need only consider the dishonest publicity photos used in Rotheram of the candidate:

Those few who have some track record and integrity in UKIP will remember what happened to Janet Girsman when she pulled the same stung and will remember her being hounded by Idris Francis and others and removed from the NEC as she refused to do as she was told to suit Farage.
I appreciate the situation is very different as I’m sure Jane Collins will do EXACTLY as she is told, to ensure she is chosen as one of Farage’s placement on HIS list of MEP candidates as the party is now a centralised authoritarian organisation with little pretence of democracy and zero understanding of the Libertarian principles (or lack of) which it espouses.
It does rather seem, as more and more detail comes out, that my ‘gut instinct’ to avoid the exploitation or even criticism of that exploitation was sound!
To be fair it was an excellent publicity stunt of Farage’s party to climb on the band wagon, as is their most common tactic as they have no strategy or vision of their own, though uncomfortable with the stunt at the time, as I was, I can only view the misrepresentation and exploitation with contempt and clearly the public were just as unimpressed as shown by the very poor turnout and the fact that UKIP did so badly – only managing to scoop up 21% of the protest vote that did turnout leaving Labour, whose MP had been sacked for theft, with twice as many votes still!
Clearly the public saw through UKIP’s rather sordid campaign – though UKIP did hand the media a wonderful stick with which to beat the government, all be it a stick of no merit as they attacked Rotheram’s Labour Council when it was the poor handling of a difficult situation by Social Services that were clearly to blame and not the council.

When the story broke that three children had been moved from a foster family in Rotherham, reportedly for being members of UKIP, I went out and talked to social workers, solicitors and care leavers. Consistently I got a response that the reported account was implausible, and there was almost certainly a more complex story to it. I put up a blog post saying so, and got a barrage of responses, much of them abusive.
Now a more complete picture is coming out about the affair. And – surprise, surprise – it was more complex than that. The details emerging are not of politically-crusading social workers with a grudge against UKIP, but of a difficult court case, dealing with distressing circumstances, with social services trying to comply with court rulings and fend off legal counter-arguments from the birth family.
This was not a case that should have been played out in the public domain like this. These are incredibly vulnerable children and their privacy has been invaded in an atrocious manner. I’m not going to repeat the details here (though people can just go to the Guardian for that) but the distressing nature of their abuse gives a clear reason why such matters should be kept confidential. Not because social services have anything to hide, but to safeguard the wellbeing of the children.
A badly-handled interview with Joyce Thacker, Rotherham’s director of children’s services, didn’t help. Though with hindsight this is likely to be partly due to being caught on the hop on a Saturday morning, and also partly due to trying to be careful about what she said about a complex case. It may have been better for the council to have simply put out a “no comment” rather than trying to rush out an interview at the weekend.
Quite possibly the foster carers may well now have some difficult questions to answer about the way they went to the media and ignited a political firestorm. But politicians also have some questions to answer about the way they conducted themselves in this case. Nigel Farage practically turned the whole thing into a party political broadcast for UKIP. Then there’s Michael Gove, the minister responsible for children’s services. He called it “indefensible” though in fact it turned out to be totally defensible. He also called it “the wrong decision in the wrong way for the wrong reasons”. Did he even know the way or the reasons when he said that? Was he even interested, or was he simply putting the Rotherham by-election before his ministerial responsibilities?
Ed Miliband emerges only marginally better in that, unlike Gove and Farage, he admitted he didn’t know the facts of the case and limited himself to calling for an investigation.
If politicians were cynical and opportunistic, some in the media were even worse. For example, the inexplicably-respected blogger Guido Fawkes ran an absolutely barking mad article. “Rotherham’s UKIP Child-Catcher Joyce Thacker Follows Common Purpose Progressive Agenda.” He leapt on a set of conspiracy theories, straight from David Icke territory, that accuse a rather dull training company called Common Purpose of trying to rewire our society along a “Marxist and Fabian” agenda. He concluded.
Thacker is yet another graduate of the Common Purpose organisation which pursues a“we know best” Fabian-style progressive agenda in the public sector. She was a project advisor for a pilot programme, run by Common Purpose, that was concerned with diversity issues in the West Yorkshire area. Something tells Guido she has an axe to grind in this and is not a neutral public servant…
Something tells me that Guido had better hope Ms Thacker doesn’t find herself a decent no-win-no-fee libel lawyer.
Nothing good has come out of this affair. Vulnerable children have had their privacy invaded. Hardworking and honest public servants have been grossly slandered. And why? For short-term political gain in a by-election. The likes of Nigel Farage, Michael Gove and Guido Fawkes need to apologise for their shameful behaviour in this ridiculous and unpleasant case.

The defence of Common Purpose in the article above shows just what damage is done by self serving individuals like David Icke or Brian Gerrish or TPUC and its fellow travelers when they seek notoriety by mounting half baked attacks on such organisations as Common Purpose making it a danger to expose the true nature of that particularly vile organisation for fear of being branded yet another fool from the self serving underbelly of life, the nutters like Icke, Gerrish and their ilk.
The service done for Common Purpose by the me, me, me style of half baked attack mounted by the nutters has been almost as notable as the service they have provided for paedophiles by desperately promoting the unfortunate ‘Stories’ surrounding Hollie Greig that are so clearly without foundation, without admissible evidence, without witness, without corroboration, without medical provenance and without much more than vitriol and a chance to beleaguer and berate a sector of the establishment who in default of ANYONE providing evidence of any value, merely false conjecture, has been unable to prove the negative and certainly unable in several enquiries to show any sign of truth in the claims the child was EVER sexually abused!
The questionable aspect of the Rotheram foster case, for lack of a better name, that was completely overlooked in their glee at a bandwagon to jump on for UKIP and a stick to beat the innocent with is clearly the EU law that obliges Britain to fund the care of any child dumped on us by any of the underclass of the vile EU of whom there are clearly yet more than even here.
UKIP as a party which ‘Claims’ to be opposed to membership of The EU despite their exploitation of it for the self enrichment of a small clique in UKIP aided by a claque of cowards and ne’er do wells seeking advancement amongst the crumbs that fall from the EU Troughs on the EU Gravy Train to fund the bribes to keep the wheels of this repugnant scam in motion – Where was the effort by UKIP to show the entire debacle was a product of EU law that the LibLabCon signed up to and UKIP does so much to profit from!
