Hi,

you may well recall Bob Spink was Ukip’s First MP having defected from the Tories in 2008 – he retained his Castle Point seat as a turncoat until the subsequent election, where having tried to hedge his bets by announcing, rather feebly, that although he had defected to Ukip he never paid his membership, which was denied by Farage at the time but having two such untrustworthy characters accusing eachother of telling lies just made them both look foolish.

Either way Bob Spink lost his seat in the 2010 election!

Bob Spink also had a period as Chairman of the little known and insignificant CIB (Campaign for an Independent Britain), an organisation that seems to consider building a bank account and over paying a few staff is its main aim rather than investing its money in campaigning for an independent Britain!

In his efforts to find a job VBob Spink, who is almost 70, also stood under the Ukip banner as their Police and Crime Commissioner in Essex, something of a non job which he unsurprisingly failed to get.

A FORMER Ukip MP and a party campaigner have appeared in court charged with electoral fraud at last May’s council elections.

Dr Bob Spink, who served as MP for Castle Point for almost nine years until 2010, and James Parkin, 38, are charged with a total of 14 offences.

The pair appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court this morning to deny the allegations, which relate to nomination papers for candidates at last year’s vote in the Castle Point borough.

Dr Spink, 68, of Downer Road, Benfleet, faces five allegations that on or before April 5 he obtained the genuine signature of an elector for the purposes of nominating a candidate, despite the elector not knowing it was for that purpose.

Parkin, of Castle View Road, Canvey, faces the same five allegations in addition to four charges of supplying a false signature on nomination papers.

Dr Spink, wearing a black suit and blue and burgundy tie, shook his head as the charges were read out.

Both men indicated through their lawyer they deny the accusations and want the case to be heard by a crown court jury.

Both men were released on bail until the June 5 hearing.

Dr Spink was the Tory MP for Castle Point between 1992 and 1997, and won the seat again at the 2001 election.

He defected to Ukip in 2008, becoming the party’s first MP, but left later that year. He lost his seat in 2010 to Tory Rebecca Harris but later rejoined Ukip.

The Yorkshire-born politician also recently unsuccessfully stood for Ukip to become Essex Police and Crime Commissioner, losing out to Tory candidate Roger Hirst.

Parkin served as Ukip’s election agent and also stood in Castle Point’s Cedar Hall ward in May’s vote but was defeated by Tory candidate Liz Wass.

His wife, Lucy Parkin, stood in the Winter Gardens ward but lost out on a seat to Allan Taylor, from the Canvey Independent Party.

Interestingly in something of a reveral of Bob Spink’s move from Tory to a daliance with Ukip a past aspirant leader of Ukip, Craig McKinley, who joined the Tories when he was defeated for the leadership by Nigel Farage and then went on to stand against Nigel Farage for the Thanet seat as an MP, which he won, seemingly under something of a cloud is also facing the Courts for Electoral Fraud!

The belated charges brought against McKinley, just before the General Election, have all the justification for complaint against the CPS & Electoral Commission as were leveled against the FBI by supporters of Hillary Clinton, but despite the allegations of investigation of Nigel Farage for too close an association with Russia and its agents – I would doubt that Russia has as much interest in the well being of McKinley as they would seem to have had manipulating the American Presidential elections in which Farage & his chum and sponsor Aaron Banks became embroilled!

 Brexit: Harrogate – of seminars and old hatreds

000a CIB-028 talk.jpgNext Wednesday, courtesy of the Campaign for an Independent Britain (CIB), we will be launching the first of a series of seminars on the EU – click flyer (left) for details. The day session is directed mainly (but not exclusively) at the business community and is free of charge, making it rather better value than the seminar planned by the Continental Drift at £1,800 per person.

I am taking the afternoon session, when my talk will be based on an expanded version of my successful presentation in Iceland. It was there that I first outlined in public some of my ideas for how we might leave the EU.

Needless to say, this heightened activity is bringing the wreckers out of the woodwork. Already, there is an active e-mail campaign, where the groupescules have convinced themselves that Booker is variously taking instructions from the Barclay brothers, and or is an MI5 “sleeper” with myself as his handler.

It would be very easy to dismiss these people as a joke (correction: it is very easy to dismiss these people as a joke), except that they are the same group who possess the soul of UKIP, insisting that Article 50 is a “trap”.

These are the people who now aver that EUReferendum, Witterings from Witney and other such blogs are “usually product of MI5’s RICU (Research Information Communications Unit)” aimed at “sabotaging the retrieval of our democracy”.

And so incensed is one of them, Lynn Atkinson, wife of Rodney Atkinson – who has never forgiven Booker for having “betrayed Jimmy Goldsmith’s Referendum Party at the last minute” and “sabotaged” his own “election as UKIP leader” – that she is planning to come to Harrogate, telling us that when she saw the flyer, she “thought it had been devised by the European Movement!”. 

This is a flyer, incidentally, which advertises my talk on how to leave the EU but, according to Mrs Atkinson (and many hundreds like her), “Dr Richard North not only does not know how to exit the EU” – he “DOES NOT WANT TO EXIT THE EU!” (her capitals). 

Thus, she tells us, “I shall certainly be attending in order to contradict him loudly and stop him doing even more damage than he has already done, just when Britain has made up its mind at last (too late now, the invaders outvote us in London and soon will all over the country)”. The latter is hugely ironic coming from a South African immigrant of Irish origin.

For us, though, this rhetoric is nothing new – it is a continuous and continuing backdrop to everything we do, a hard core within UKIP and alongside it, comprising in part manic Christian fundamentalists who combine Islamophobia with scarcely-concealed racism of such an intensity that it would frighten off the KKK as too extreme.

These are the people, alarmingly, who form a hidden “Praetorian Guard” within UKIP, a constant threat to Farage. With the support of much of his inner circle who share their values, they keep him on the “straight and narrow”.

It would be wrong to say that these people run UKIP – they do not. But their influence is pervasive, writ through the DNA of UKIP and inseparable from it. And there is nothing unreal about their hatred of “non-believers” such as myself who made the “mistake” of putting up two Islamic candidates for UKIP at the 2001 general election. 

Now that I contradict their mantra of overnight repeal of the ECA as the only way to leave the EU, disbelieve the “fact” that the EU is a Nazi plot, and support the “trap” of Article 50, I am totally beyond the pale. That I am prepared to contemplate negotiation with the EU is treachery of the highest order. 

Over on Autonomous Mind, you will see some words of wisdom on how we should construct our referendum strategy, but to the Praetorian Guard, such words are the vilest of heresy. Reasoned argument simply invokes a hatred that you could cut with a knife as they spread their conviction that anything short of immediate, unilateral withdrawal from the EU is written by or for MI5 with the intent of keeping us in the EU. 

By comparison, their “dislike” of EU is relatively mild. They direct most of  their energies and tenacity to the pursuit of “traitors” and “saboteurs” such as myself. We are the true objects of their hatred, our primary qualification for attracting their ire being that we do not wholeheartedly agree with them. 

This, sadly, has been going on for decades, an enormous expenditure of energy which spills out into countless poisonous briefings, snippets of which even find their way onto this blog’s comments and the forum, their immediate authors often unaware of the original source. They achieve nothing but to hamper those who are seeking to take the fight to the real enemy. But then, to the Praetorian Guard, we are the real enemy.

Despite all that, we will be at Harrogate next week and even if Mrs Atkinson is not there in person, she will be there in spirit to remind us of how much we are hated for daring to take on the EU in a way of which they do not approve. Unwittingly, though, they are of huge assistance to us all. By comparison, they make fighting the EU look easy.

One recalls in this context the words of the American poet Maya Angelou, whose death was announced today. In her poem, I rise, she writes: “You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I’ll rise”.

Born 04-Apr-1926 – Died  28-May-2014
Who, though born into poverty and hardship in the Southern States rose from her background of rape at 8, the murder of her rapist by her uncle showing a strong personality even in her early years this black lady built an outstanding reputation in the Civil Rights movement working alongside such iconic figures as Martin Luther King and Malcolm X – who then built a career in music spreading her reputation internationally as a singer with a fine repetoir in calypso.
Maya Angelou then built a career, though ever willing to burst into song, as a poet and biographer tackling her early years head on in ‘I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings’ which covered her life from 8 to 17.
Maya angelou went on to write and publish some 35 books including seven autobiographies, three books of essays, and several books of poetry, and is credited with a sizeable list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning more than fifty years.
Ever willing to promote or defend her views in rich discourse both face to face and on live media.
Her President commented on her death saying:
“one of the brightest lights of our time”.
He hailed Angelou, who has died aged 86, as
“a brilliant writer, a fierce friend and a truly phenomenal woman”.
President Barrack Obama awarded her The Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011
whilst before him
President Bill Clinton awarded her The National Medal of Arts in 2000.
A staggering achievement minded of the poverty, abuse and prejudice into which she was born some 86 years ago. Her leadership and example may well be best known from her interviews by Oprah Winfrey and others.
I believe each of our lives are enriched by her achievements just as our lives are diminished by her passing – a measure of her strength speaks volumes of her life:

I am pleased to present yet another piece from the well informed and experienced political commentator Dr. Richard North:

000Mail 004-ele.jpgI will be in London today talking to the Campaign for an Independent Britain, on the general subject of “the way forward” for euroscepticism.


It will come as no surprise to readers of this blog that my list of things we must have in order successfully to secure an exit from the EU does not include the Farage Party, which is more and more looking like a cul-de-sac. And in a subliminal message which affirms that, we see the front page of the Daily Mail (left) where any news of the “great victory” is remarkably absent.

Unfashionable it may be to say in certain quarters, but to attract the support of 6-8 percent of the electorate in council elections (and 9.4 percent in a by-election) is not evidence of a wildly successful popular campaign. And this is less so when, with each passing election, the pool of engaged voters steadily diminishes, as evidenced by the declining turnouts.

As we have remarked before, the obsession with share of the vote, where turnout is in free fall, has the hallmarks of two bald men fighting over a comb – although it is more like a gang of people squabbling over its possession.

000Guardian 004-ele.jpgIt is perhaps appropriate, therefore, that the newspaper that makes the greatest front-page display of the Farage Party success is the loss-making Guardian. This left-wing newspaper is only too well aware that the only way of resuscitating the flagging Labour campaign is to big-up UKIP in the hope of damaging the Conservative Party.

Therein lies an uncomfortable truth. However, much it may protest otherwise, at its current level of support, when it has absorbed the transferable votes from the BNP, arising from the collapse of another one-man-band, by far the greater bulk of UKIP’s support comes from disaffected Conservatives.

Come the general election, which is the only election which matters to the political claque, the Left will certainly be egging on the “party of protest” in the expectation that it will continue to do disproportionate damage to the Right.

And, confronted with the challenge, Mr Cameron’s Conservatives will do whatever it takes to neutralise the threat. For, if Farage has succeeded in anything, he has certainly got the attention of the political classes.

The ironic thing is that the most immediate outcome of grabbing the Guardian front page is one of two possibilities – either the election of the Labour Party to office in the 2015 general election (with or without the Lib-Dems), or resurgent Conservatives who will most likely offer as the bribe to restore their fortunes an EU referendum that we cannot possibly win.

I would find this latter even doubly ironic – for UKIP to force upon the nation a referendum for which it is wholly unprepared, where it would be completely outflanked, then to saddle us with a lost vote which will set the eurosceptic movement back a generation.

But then, whatever else, Farage has never included amongst his attributes anything approaching tactical acumen or strategic planning. Right now, though, his dogged pursuit of a twenty-year-old game plan might now look on the threshold of a breakthrough. But the truth is that it has no better chance of success now than when he first scribbled it on the back of a beer-soaked bar mat, at the end of a boozy planning session.

Perhaps that “plan” emanated from the Grand Old Duke of York pub, because Farage is marching his troops to the top of the hill. Too soon, he will be marching them down again, back into the intellectual cul-de-sac from which his “cunning plan” originated.

And that is what I will be telling the CIB today, plus a few more home truths. Those views won’t necessarily be welcome, but I suspect there may be a few there capable of straight thinking and I won’t have to make a quick dash for the exit. We shall see.

Just for the record – this event is seemingly planned by The CIB (Campaign for an Independent Britain):

Anti EU Demonstration

07-Sep-2012A National Conference ‘ celebrating’  the 20th Anniversary of the Single Market, organised by our supposedly Eurosceptic Government and the European Commission, is being held at 1. 00 p.m. on Thursday 18th October 2012 at Lancaster House in London.

How they can consider it appropriate to ‘celebrate’ an arrangement which has directly resulted in exporting jobs and created unemployment on a massive scale in Greece, Spain and other Mediterranean countries is quite beyond me. It displays openly the arrogance of those who rule us and their utter disregard for the plight their policies have visited upon the working (now non-working) peoples of Europe.

It’s time we displayed our anger to them and protest against the EU’s bureaucratic dictatorship and the UK’s membership of it.

DON’T MISS IT!

What is the exit and survival plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits of leaving The EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples – they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our border.

NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.

To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we thus leave our children and the future, with shame!

I note with utter contempt the liar, cheat and proven low life scoundrel Mick McGough is yet again excercising his fantasies and obsessions in a desperate & obsessive effort to defame me!

Mick McGough seemingly seeking to ingratiate himself with
an apparently somewhat ‘tired & emotional’ Nigel Farage!

Rich when it comes from a proven liar who set out to cheat his colleagues for his own personal gain – an odious little man who criminally uses the internet and who has brought the EUroSceptic movement into such disrepute with his parasitic vain glory in befouling The Freedom Association with his presence and his involvement with the CIB.

Not to mention of course the extent to which he has befouled and debased UKIP by seeking to drag them into the gutter he so clearly feels so at home in – a gutter befouled with his constant self interested lies and speculative falsehoods.

Here is his comment of today, made on Anthony Butcher’s squalid little forum which is provably controlled by Mick McGough’s low life colleagues amongst UKIP’s leadership:

This I gather is in response to detailed facts and opinions presented by Steve Morson, on that same Forum.

Let us not forget Steve Morson was legitimately and honestly elected to be chairman of UKIP’s regional committee – Mick McGough had to resort to dishonesty and corruption to seek preferment in UKIP as shown at CLICK HERE where you will note despite his dishonesty as shown in UKIP’s Returning Officer‘s Official Report he came a risible 6th. with only 137 votes amonst his so called friends, on his home territory and was beaten into that position by some notable liars and various dishonest individuals who have, like himself, brought UKIP into disrepute and undermined genuine EUroScepticism in their corrupt self interest!

Fortunately I have absolutely nothing to fear from ANY knock on my door – having NEVER wittingly or deliberately broken any law nor, unlike Mick McGough, have I ever deliberately lied to mislead or for personal gain.

I have never in my life wittingly published information which was a matter under any such legal notice. I do gather that Gerard Batten sought, in my opinion dishonestly and corruptly, to suppress the truth of his various Court appearances. Details which I quite legitimately published as there was no reason to believe he was so ashamed he sought to suppress the facts – though one might well understand why his efforts to seemingly incite racial hatred based on religious superstitions counter to his own may well be grounds for such dishonesty!

I am also aware that UKIP via individuals in their claque dishonestly obtained details of a technical offence, with relation to an automatic pistol, and legitimate corresponding ammunition, which was accidentally imported into Britain, with household effects by a then lady friend of mine.

An offence for which I chose, for personal reasons, to accept responsibility and which was about 30 years ago and thus ‘legally spent’ and despite only a fine levied at the time UKIP were only too happy to see it unlawfully publicised and distorted – a measure of the suitability of UKIP to hold office ANY office!We note that in his desperation to dishonestly defame Mick McGough frequently sites this spent issue!

Perhaps since Mick McGough, would seem to claim, I should have known of the dubiously obtained Court ban, with regard to Gerard Batten’s Court appearances, how come the matter was clearly in the public domain or I would not have been aware of it and nor would he!

You really give him too much respect

I believe the so called ‘respect’ attributed to me by Steve Morson and others, in as far as it may be is for my consistent efforts to be honest and accurate in exposing corruption in public office and my consistent efforts in opposing membership of The EU by these United Kingdoms with no attempt to personally profit from such efforts nor to seek preferment – funding every such action that I have taken with my own money.

Frankly considering the source of the lies it is a matter of indifference but as the defamatory lies are so often made by those who, like Mick McGouggh, seek personal gain by repeating these lies – Indeed I expose them for the self seeking liars they are.

You will note that never ONCE have any of these low lifes EVER been able to identify a single iota of evidence or substantiation of their dishonest and defamatory comments.

Tjhis can only, it would seem, be a certainty based upon the apparent fact that Mick McGough himself is without ethics, patriotism or integrity and would himself act for money and is motivated to lie and cheat for personal gain and also to defame and mislead in his repetition of his lies without a shred of factual evidence to back his serial dishonesty.

Of course he must be worried that his benefits might be affected.

Indeed I do have the benefit of drawing a somewhat nominal old age pension, being eligible by contribution and age, and did for a short period, during treatment with Chemo Therapy and Radiation treatment, for what was a prognosis of terminal cancer, receive a sum which – since I was unable to work – covered PART of the cost of my petrol for visits to Velindre for that treatment.

I do not and nor have I ever received any other legitimate State benefits beyond those of the society I seek to defend from liars like McGough and the low lifes with whom they associate.

Yet again Mick McGough, were he an honest man of any integrity, would publish a full retraction and public apology for his utterly dishonest attempts to defame me – However I believe we can be, as ever, certain he will not be man enough nor honourable enough to do so.

Mick McGough is a proven liar and a cheat who was exposed as a liar and cheat by the report of UKIP’s returning officer having lied to deceive the electorate in selection as an MEP to fulfil his personal ambitions & no doubt for personal gain!

His desperate distortions and utterly irresponsible and repetitive misrepresentations are, one is forced to assume, deliberately damaging to the EUroSceptic movement  – for it is hard to conjecture any other reason he makes such a fool of himself with his lies and criminally obsessive behaviour under law.

You will note this odious excrecence’s foolish fantasies and dishonesties below in starting a thread on Anthony Butcher’s UKIP controlled public forum when he is, rather embarrassingly, on UKIP’s NEC!!

    It amazes me that no one seems to know who ‘Junius’ is (?).
    I can’t think anyone pays GLW, as his writing style is so off-putting.

    G.L-W>> It is hardly surprising that those who post under the name of Junius retain their anonimity, as if their identities were known it is unlikely that they would be able to obtain much of the information of corruption, dishonesty, racism, bullying and abuse that are prevalent in UKIP’s heirarchy – not to mention the utter incompetence that makes them unfit for purpose as any kind of standard bearer for EUroScepticism.

    As to my writing style I can respect the opinion given and just as some may find the style ‘off putting’ the reade4rship figures of the material I have written over the years would indicate others may find it of interest – Each to his own!

    Just rather a pity this individual lacks the conviction of his comments to put his name to them – a cowards option which demeans the value of tyhe comments!<<

    Trying to make mischief again I see mick!

    Let’s just assume for a second that this was a ‘set up’ then they have published a ‘set up lie’ not a direct lie.

    Also in years of publishing ‘stuff’ on the true nature of EUKIP I’d say Junius and GLW have been very accurate.

    And despite I’m sure Nigel and Co wishing to silence them only one court case over the copyright of a photograph which they LOST and have still to settle the costs.

    So they obviously are prepared to go to court so why not endless court cases against Junius and GLW?

    I’ll tell you why because Junius and GLW tell you how it is in EUKIP and don’t lie in what they report.

    Oh and BTW thanks mick for giving me the opportunity to explain the above to the viewing public to this forum.

    As a failed grubby second hand bookseller whose assets if any will be in his partner’s name is just not worth sueing.

    G.L-W>> Mick McGough demeans himself with this standard of childish and offensive comment which is so provably wrong, having founded the business and built it over the years never once seeking the assistance of any other party or any kind of public subsidies – Mick McGough was of corse an employed bean counter just another occupation as was mine.

    Rather satisfyingly, for me, was that from 1981 I was able to be self employed, with no boss, employing others and doing something I thoroughly enjoyed and despite health challenges was able to close our business with no debts as owner of the entire stock  which was extensive and support myself and my partner for some 7 years without recourse to benefits or the help of others.

    As for ‘grubby books’ one wonder what Mick McGough knows of books, clearly little if anything. Our most valuable stock item was some £20,000 and never once did we buy or sell any item of pornography as ALL our stock was on public display in 8 rooms and we were dependent on both families and parents for our livelihood.

    G.L-W>> Sadly UKIP leadership clique and its claque can hang their heads in shame as Mick McGough is by no means the only liar, criminal bully and fantasist in their ranks, which probably explains why UKIP in 20 years has been found guilty of fraud on so many occasions, has been proven to be liars, racists and damaging to the cause of Leave-The-EU with their contemptible behaviour.

    Not only was Tom Wise their MEP sent to prison for his theft but Mike Nattrass is well documented as having sought to protect him on the grounds that ALL UKIP MEPs were on the fiddle – as we have subsequently had proved to us with Derek Clark, despite his lies and dishonesty and contemptible efforts to dishonestly defame, had to repay a sizeable amount of money he had obtained fraudulently.

    Other UKIP MEPs who have been proven to fraudulently obtain money and have been forced to repay the money include, Graham Booth, Jeffrey Titford, Nigel Farage meanwhile I understand allegations have been made that are being investigated regarding Gerard Batten as with the investigation of David Bannerman and Stuart Agnew by OLAF which is ongoing.

    UKIP a party of increasingly little relevance, largely due to the incompetence of its leadership, the incredibly low calliber of its MEPs, the staggering ineptitude of its officers and staff and its fractured squabbling nature as they all seem all too willing to parade their differences and stab eachother in the back to jockey for position.

    It would seem that so much money has been stolen and misappropriated by those in positions of supposed trust in UKIP they are clearly not to be trusted, and clearly aren’t trusted by the public, with less than 30 elected seats in British politics out of some 19,500 available, after 20 years!<<
