Hi,
Mail on Sunday~

07-Oct-2012

You will find the poll commissioned by ‘We Demand A Referendum’ campaign of both interest and of use in achieving our aims.

YouGov Poll: Majority of Public Do Not Trust Cameron on EU.

A YouGov Poll released today by the newly formed We Demand A Referendum Party shows the majority of electorate DO NOT have trust in David Cameron to stand up for British interests in the European Union.

The poll reveals that 54% do not have trust compared to 38% that do.
The same YouGov poll also reveals that the gap between those who wish to see an EU Referendum (62%) widening over those who do not (24%). In a YouGov Poll last month the figures for the same question were 56% to 28% respectively.
Worryingly for David Cameron the poll shows that almost three out of four Conservative voters want a Referendum.
The single issue We Demand A Referendum Party held their inaugural conference in London on Friday issued an ultimatum to the Prime Minister that if he failed to facilitate a In/Out Referendum by 1st January 2014 they would stand in every region in the next European Elections under the banner ‘We Demand A Referendum’ A YouGov Poll last month showed between 16% and 33% of the electorate would vote for them in June 2014 earning them between 8 and 22 seats.
Party Chairman, Nikki Sinclaire MEP said “These results show there is increasing support from across the political spectrum for an EU Referendum – When will the politicians listen to the people?”
The West Midlands MEP added “The economic crisis has changed the ball game in Europe. Fundamental changes are underway, now is the time to decide once and for all which fork in the road to take.”
Sorry – the layout of the tables is near unusable! You will find a more readable version on You Gov’s web site!

Campaign for a Referendum: Conference a Great Success!

Its always nice to spend a couple of days in London, even if it is a working visit.

On Thursday evening I was delighted to meet Katie Hopkins for the first time: she is absolutely the right person for the campaign, as her media appearences to date have proved. We were joined at dinner at the Victory Services Club by Nikki and a number of senior members of the team, and also Roger Knapman and his wife Carolyn, as well as former Lib-Dem councillor David McGrath and his wife, both of whom I know from the campaign to clear an illegal travellers camp in Meriden. The cross-party demographics of this campaign team give us both integrity and depth.

But the real reason for the trip was our inaugural conference in Westminster. The day began with Katie appearing on ITN’s Daybreak, and by the end of the first round of speakers we were on the front page of the BBC news website. Christian Party Leader George Hargreaves, and the US broadcaster and political analyst Charlie Wolf both gave excellent speeches, adding depth to the debate on our membership of the EU and what it means for our democratic integrity.

It was a chance to catch up with old friends from various parties, including one Conservative MEP, and to meet new people.

No surprise that UKIP had at least two spotters outside, reporting back on who was attending – I suspect that a few people will be getting some unpleasant phone calls or letters from their branch chairman shortly!

Two motions were passed by conference: the first calling on HMG to establish a Royal Commission to set the terms of reference for the referendum, the second calling on the PM to call a binding referendum before Jan 1st 2014.

A great success!

I gather from several people who were there that the inagural conference surpassed most expectations in terms of its cross party contribution, its disinterest in UKIP, seen by many as having failed and now discreditted sliding towards the history books as such, and also my contacts were pleasantly surprised at the calliber of the speeches and presentations which at many such events are all too frequently too slick, too smug and too banal delivering nothing.I am fairly reliably informed the attendance was just over 70, which although shy of the 100 I had hope for was a successful result for such short term and also in the light of the childish attacks that have so demeaned UKIP!

I note that the Tory defector and UKIP turncoat David Bannerman was present, presumably having quit the Tories due to his failure and having been put in place in Farage’s party as an MEP in the apparent realisation that he was singularly unlikely to be re-elected having seen through the corruption of UKIP he defected back to the Tories and now having realised the Tories select their prospective MEP lists rather more fairly and with considerably more integrity than UKIP he stood little chance of being above 4th. or 5th. on the list and thus not a hope of being re-elected.

It seems probable that David Bannerman was looking for a new place to hang his hat and some prospect of getting back on the gravy train with his snout in the troughs that are The EU.

It was interesting to see Tony Schofield there but as yet he still seems not to have been fully weened of his love affair with UKIP which though it has turned sour leaves him in hope over experience.

I do endorse the decision and commend to you the fact that liars and low lifes Mick McGough and John Moran were made unwelcome and asked not to enter the meeting – they have shown in much detail their lack of ethics and dishonesty and clearly had nothing to offer the new organisation and would have proved a distraction and an embarrassment as they do in UKIP.

I gather McGough is not in favour at the moment having opposed the decision of Nigel Farage and Lisa Duffy to place the idiotic and discreditted self seeker Winston McKenzie in the key role – a more obvious political prostitute and self seeker would be hard to find anywhere but in the ranks of UKIP leadership’s claque.

Imagine if UKIP ever gained any position of authority how odious it would be – the centralised denial of any sense of democratic ethics, the McCarthy style infiltration of other people’s organisations, the keeping and making of lists of attendees, the odious bigots given status in UKIP, the prostitutes, the drunken yobbery, the corruption, the controlling nature, the centralised dictatorship and so many more anti democratic actions and controlling beliefs – They call it Libertarian!!!

Let us hope that the We Demand A Referendum moves forward from this limited success to greater things, which as the polls show are both populist and popular.
.

Regards,

Greg_L-W..

Who might win a British referendum on Europe?
AN OPINION!

Hi,
before reading Peter Kelners selective opinion on the outcome of an IN/OUT Referendum do read the two main questions below and the two versions in each question.
Then ask how you would have phrased them to obtain the answer YOU want!

Read on 😉

A special relationship with Europe?

Statement A:

‘Whether we like it or not, Britain must work especially closely with the rest of Europe if it is to prosper in the 21st century. That does not necessarily mean accepting the European Union as it is. Nor does it mean that Britain must work for a ‘United States of Europe’. It does mean that, inside or outside the EU, we must recognise that we are a European nation.’

Statement B:

‘As an island with a long history of connections with the rest of the world, a major role in the Commonwealth and a ‘special relationship’ with the USA, Britain has no need to give extra weight to its links with the rest of Europe. Britain is most likely to prosper if it treats the rest of Europe as no more important to us than any other part of the world.’

Statement B:

‘The EU has failed. It is expensive, inefficient and overbearing. It stops the governments of member states from doing the things they need to do improve the lives of their citizens. The EU has had nothing to do with Europe being more peaceful, democratic and prosperous than it used to be.’

Worried Nationalists, Pragmatic Nationalists and Progressive Internationalists – Who might win a British referendum on Europe?

By Peter Kellner – October 2012

In a democracy, public opinion always matters; but British attitudes to Europe matter more than usual. This is partly because a referendum on Britain and the EU in the next few years is a distinct possibility; partly because Europe is an especially divisive issue on the political Right, with the United Kingdom Independence Party threatening to overtake the Conservatives at the European Parliament elections in 2014; and partly because any major change in the way the EU works requires the consent of all EU members, so Britain has a veto – and all the main parties have promised that they will wield the veto unless they have public consent.
YouGov has conducted fresh research for ECFR into the roots of British attitudes to Europe. It finds that the attitudes of millions of voters to the EU are intimately linked to their view of Britain itself, to their view of how our society is evolving, and extent to which they want Britain to engage with the rest of the world generally.
However, before we examine these results, two initial points should be made.
The first is that Britons are consistently more Eurosceptic than the people of any other major EU country. For example in the Eurobarometer survey conducted earlier this year only 27% of Britons were very or fairly attached to the EU, last by a significant margin out of all member states (the EU average was 46% with the other five largest members registering between 60% and 45%). 72% of Britain were ‘not very’ or ‘not at all’ attached (the EU average was 52% with the other five largest states between 34% and 53%). Even though enthusiasm for the EU has waned in the countries hardest hit by the economic crisis (such as Spain, Italy and even Greece), they still remain keener Europeans than the British.
The second point is that millions of Britons think the issue of Europe matters a lot to Britain – but not to them and their families. Again, this is supported by polling. In a YouGov poll in August 2012 Britons named Europe as the fourth most important issue facing the country (of twelve that were listed, behind the economy, immigration and asylum, and health), but only the tenth most important for them and their families.
These two points raise important practical questions about the way public opinion might evolve in a referendum on Europe – either a straight in/out referendum on British
membership of the EU, or a vote on revisions to the EU treaties, or a general election in which Europe were a central issue. Such a contest would almost certainly raise the saliency of Europe in voters’ minds, probably a lot. Would our national scepticism weaken, or persist, or become more intense?
History provides one direct comparison – the referendum held in June 1975 on whether Britain should stay in the Common Market (as it then was). Then, as now, the Prime Minister, then Labour’s Harold Wilson, had a problem managing party divisions. Then, as now, most voters wanted to leave the Common Market (as it then was). Then, as now, polling (specifically, a Gallup Poll in November 1974) suggested that if the Prime Minister renegotiated the terms of Britain’s membership and recommended acceptance of the new terms, opinion would swing in favour of British membership.
Wilson did talk to his European partners, and did claim a great victory (though dispassionate observers could find very little change in Britain’s membership terms). And voters duly rewarded him with a 2-1 majority for staying ‘in Europe’.
Suppose that this time, a referendum were held after the Eurozone crisis fades, and David Cameron were able to say that he has been able to negotiate a deal that protects Britain’s interests. What then?
In July this year, YouGov asked this question: ‘Imagine the British government under David Cameron renegotiated our relationship with Europe and said that Britain’s interests were now protected, and David Cameron recommended that Britain remain a member of the European Union on the new terms. How would you then vote in a referendum on the issue?’
This time, 42% say they would vote to stay in, while 34% would vote to leave. Tory voters swing right round, from 58-29% for leaving the EU when we ask the conventional in-out referendum question, to 55-34% for staying in, if that is what the Prime Minister recommends.
This suggests that now, as in 1975, public opinion is not completely fixed. However, we tested just one hypothesis. The precise nature and context of any vote is hard to predict; and in any event, people are not always good predictors of their own attitudes two or three years ahead. Our results indicate the potential for volatility, not the certain outcome of an intensely-fought referendum campaign.
What we CAN do is explore the sources of public attitudes to Europe. Why do people think as they do about Britain and the EU? This is what YouGov’s fresh research for ECFR has sought to find out. We asked people to consider eight pairs of statements and say, in each case, which they agreed with more. Two pairs explored attitudes to Britain; another two, recent and future trends about life in Britain; two looked at attitudes to the world as a whole; the final two specifically considered Britain and Europe. The main table shows the results.
The roots of British attitudes to Europe
Here are some pairs of statements. For each pair, please indicate whether you agree more with Statement A or statement B.
%
Traditions v values
Statement A – ‘The best things about Britain are to do with its history, geography and traditions – things like the monarchy, the countryside, warm beer and cricket on the village green, and our history of standing alone against Hitler in the Second World War.’
44
I agree with both statements to the same degree
25
Statement B – ‘The best things about Britain are to do with its values of tolerance, democracy and fair play – things like free speech, the right to protest, and the way we have welcomed people from all over the world who wish to settle here.’
21
Neither / Don’t know
10
Has Britain been going to the dogs?
Statement A – ‘Taking everything into account – especially modern technology (such as the Internet and mobile phones), rising life expectancy, more interesting jobs, the huge choice of food, clothes, culture and leisure opportunities that previous generations could only dream of – life in Britain today is generally better than it was 30 or 40 years ago.’
40
I agree with both statements to the same degree
16
Statement B – ‘Taking everything into account – especially large-scale immigration, high unemployment, unruly schools, drug pushing, drunken hooligans, lax moral standards and gang wars in many cities – life in Britain today is generally worse than it was 30 or 40 years ago.’
37
Neirther / Don’t know
7
Optimism v pessimism
Statement A – ‘Despite Britain’s current economic problems, I am basically confident about the long-term future. Our children’s generation is likely to end up enjoying a better standard of living than our generation, just as our generation has broadly been better off in material terms than our parents’ generation.’
23
I agree with both statements to the same degree
9
Statement B – ‘I am not at all confident that the pattern will continue, of each generation being better off than its parents’ generation. I fear that our children’s generation will find it harder throughout their lives than ours to enjoy a reasonable standard of living.’
59
Neither / Don’t know
9
British exceptionalism?
Statement A – ‘It’s understandable that people throughout the world are patriots who are proud of their own country. But Britain’s history and character make our country special. We really do have more reason to be proud of our country than people in most other countries have reason to be proud of theirs.’
25
I agree with both statements to the same degree
15
Statement B – ‘It’s natural to be proud of one’s own country, but if we are honest we should recognise that no country is fundamentally superior to any other. People in much of the world have just as much reason to be proud of their country as we have to be proud of ours.’
52
Neither / Don’t know
8
Can Britain go it alone?
Statement A – ‘In today’s world, with global trade and global companies, there are severe limits to what Britain can achieve on its own. We must work closely with other countries and with global institutions such as the United Nations, the Commonwealth and the World Trade Organisation if we are to maximise our influence and prosperity’
40
I agree with both statements to the same degree
13
Statement B – ‘The case for global rules and institutions is often overstated, and their so-called benefits an illusion. Britain is perfectly able to decide for itself how best to run its affairs and relate to other countries. Britain should seek to control its destiny without worrying about the rest of the world.’
35
Neither / Don’t know
12
For or against overseas aid?
Statement A – ‘It is in Britain’s interests to help the world’s poorer countries to become better off. This would be good for British exports and British jobs – and reduce the danger of conflict and terrorism. For these reasons there is a strong practical as well as moral argument for maintaining our spending on international development.’
32
I agree with both statements to the same degree
11
Statement B – ‘Money spent on international aid is largely wasted. It supports corrupt regimes and ends up doing little or nothing to support development or reduce conflict or terrorism. There is neither a moral nor a practical case for such spending. Britain should look after itself, and leave poorer countries to sort themselves out.’
48

9
A special relationship with Europe?
Statement A – ‘Whether we like it or not, Britain must work especially closely with the rest of Europe if it is to prosper in the 21st century. That does not necessarily mean accepting the European Union as it is. Nor does it mean that Britain must work for a ‘United States of Europe’. It does mean that, inside or outside the EU, we must recognise that we are a European nation.’
38
I agree with both statements to the same degree
14
Statement B – ‘As an island with a long history of connections with the rest of the world, a major role in the Commonwealth and a ‘special relationship’ with the USA, Britain has no need to give extra weight to its links with the rest of Europe. Different people will find significance in different findings: the widespread pessimism about the prospects for the next generation, for example, or the popularity of British traditions, or the divided views about whether Britain should work especially closely with the rest of Europe; or – most relevant to this analysis – the two-to-one majority regarding the EU as fundamentally a failure rather than a success.
However, the main reason for asking these questions together is to explore the connections among these attitudes. How far, if at all, do our attitudes to the EU flow from specific concerns about the way Brussels works, and how far from views about the state of Britain itself and/or our optimism or pessimism towards the future and/or our wider sense of whether Britain should engage with the rest of the world or try to keep it at bay?
Two statistical techniques help us to answer these questions. One is bivariate correlation analysis, the other cluster analysis. Let us consider these in turn.
With correlation analysis we count how frequently answers to different questions coincide. Suppose we conducted poll on television and asked whether people like or dislike (a) Doctor Who and (b) the X factor. If everyone who liked one programme liked the other, then correlation analysis would yield a coefficient of plus one. If, on the other hand, all Dr Who viewers hated the X Factor, and vice versa, then we would have a coefficient of minus one. If there were no link between the two views, then the regression coefficient would be zero.
Now let’s apply this to the data in our survey. The strongest correlations with attitudes to the EU concern Britain’s general place in the world. Supporters of overseas aid tend to be pro-EU; opponents of overseas aid are overwhelmingly anti-EU. The correlation coefficient between the two is 0.5 – which statisticians consider a high figure. It’s a similar story, with almost exactly the same coefficient, when we compare attitudes to the EU with those to Britain’s place in the world generally. The more strongly people agree with the view that Britain must work closely with global organisations such as the United Nations, the more likely they are to be pro-EU.
There is also a clear, though lesser, correlation between how we view the EU and whether we think Britain has grown better or worse in the past 30-40 years. By three-to-one, pro-EU respondents think Britain has improved, while by five-to-three, those who regard the EU as a failure think Britain has got worse. The correlation is 0.3. A similar figure applies when we compare expectations for the future, and whether or not our children’s generation will be better off than ours: Those who are pro-EU divide evenly between optimists and pessimists, while those who are anti-EU are overwhelmingly pessimistic.
This correlation analysis takes us some way down the track of understanding the different forces at work on public attitudes to Europe. But we need to delve further, for these forces are not wholly independent of each other. For example, supporters of overseas aid are more likely than opponents to be optimists. One way to analyse these factors together is to do cluster analysis. The computer examines the pattern of responses, and creates clusters of broadly like-minded respondents. When we do this, we find that most Britons belong to one of three groups:
Worried nationalists (WNs): 42%. They tend to have a traditional view of Britain, are pessimistic about the future and, were Britain a castle surrounded by a moat, would want the drawbridge up most of the time, in order to keep the rest of the world at bay. They tend to dislike overseas aid and think Britain should not bother too much with the global bodies such as the United Nations. The vast majority of them think the EU has been a failure.
WNs divide evenly between Labour and Conservatives. 15% of them support UKIP (twice the national average) and just 5% are Liberal Democrats (half the national average). They are slightly more likely than the general population to be women and to read the Sun or the Mail, and less likely to have a university degree.
Pragmatic nationalists (PNs): 23%. Like the WNs, PNs tend to have a traditional view of Britain, but tend to be less pessimistic about the way Britain is heading. They are divided about the merits of overseas aid, but tend to think Britain does need to co-operate with global institutions. Were Britain a castle, they would lower the drawbridge more often than the WNs, to allow more contact with the outside world. They are divided on whether the EU has been successful, but tend not to have strong feelings either way.
PNs also divide evenly between Labour and Conservative. The share of Liberal Democrats is in line with the national average; but only 3% would vote UKIP. Otherwise, their demographic profile is similar to that of Britain as a whole.
Progressive internationalists (PIs): 25%. Here, “progressive” is used not so much as a left-of-centre label, but in the sense of holding a view that history tends towards greater prosperity and enlightenment. Their view of Britain tends to be rooted in values more than tradition; they generally think Britain is a better place today than was a generation ago but are less certain about the future. Overwhelmingly, PIs think Britain must play a full role in global institutions, most support our international aid programme and, by three-to-one, they think the EU is a success story. They are happy for the drawbridge linking Britain to the rest of the world to stay down.
Two-thirds of PIs would vote Labour (52%) or Lib Dem (14%); just 23% would vote Conservative. They are more likely than the national average to be men, to have university degrees and to read the ‘broadsheet’ newspapers.
It should be stressed that these groups are not completely homogeneous; and there are another 10% of the electorate that don’t fit any of them (though this last group tends to have no clear views of these issues, and few of them are likely to vote in any election or referendum). Even within each group, there are some people who fit most but by no means all of the descriptions given. For example, there are internationally-minded optimists who reject the traditional view of British life and approve of overseas aid, but still dislike the EU. However, there aren’t very many of them.
The broader lesson is that those who seek to persuade Britons either to love or to hate Brussels by stressing the precise wording of EU treaties, or the details of the Common Agricultural Policy, or the merits of the Working Time Directive, are wasting their time. Few people think about the EU in these terms; and the few who do are probably committed
enthusiasts for, or utterly hostile to, the whole project; so their votes are locked up. For most people, attitudes to the EU are shaped by two broad things: their view of Britain itself, and how far they are at ease with the direction in which our society is heading. As with so much else in politics, fear is a big driver of public attitudes. At the moment, the fear factor is working hard for the EU’s opponents.
This analysis suggests two big implications.
First, Worried Nationalists comprise by far the biggest single group. In a referendum on whether to leave the EU, Worried Nationalists give the anti-EU lobby a head start. Although they could be outvoted if virtually all the Pragmatic Nationalists lined up against them with the Progressive Internationalists, I find it hard in practice to see how the British would vote to stay in the EU unless a fair number of nationalists could be lured from the “worried” to the “pragmatic” column.
Although we don’t have this kind of data for 1975, there can be little doubt that this is a big part of what happened 37 years ago. Many voters who started out both disliking the Common Market and fearful of Britain’s future, ended up fearing that Britain would be worse off out in the cold. They decided on pragmatic grounds to swallow their dislike of “Europe” and vote to stay in. If an in-out referendum is held in the next few years, the pro-EU lobby will need to achieve the same shift and change the way the fear factor works.
Secondly, if the WN column can be reduced to, say, 35% or less in a referendum campaign, then the PNs will become the swing group. Their votes will decide whether Britain leaves the EU or stays in. As in 1975, the fear factor will loom large. But this is part of a wider point. By its nature, pragmatism is concerned more with practical and often short-term outcomes, rather than big visions and long-term dreams. PNs are unlikely to be swayed either by those who summon the spirits of Shakespeare, Agincourt and Elizabeth I – or by those who wax lyrical about peace in Europe and the continent’s shared cultural heritage. “Rule Britannia” and “Ode to Joy” might stir the partisans, but they will leave the pragmatists cold. To them, the big picture will matter far more: which is more likely to boost jobs, prosperity and our children’s future: maintaining our partnership with our European neighbours or arranging a divorce?
In short, campaigning by both sides is likely to be scrappy and negative. It may be the least bad way to decide Britain’s relations with the rest of Europe, but only a wild optimist could think it a glorious way.

TO LEAVE THE EU

What is the Exit and Survival Plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits when we Leave-The-EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples – they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our borders.

They also have a duty to put in place contingency plans for the collapse of The EUro & The EU or the wishes of the peoples of Britain to Leave-The-EU.

NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for over 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.

Politicians are failing to tell the truth, but so are almost all wanabe Politicians, the Main Stream Media and Snivil Cervants.

The fact is that even if EVERY British MEP wanted change in The EU it would achieve NOTHING, at very best if they ALL agreed they would then  still have less than a 10% say in the governance of Britain by The EU.

Every single British Politician, of EVERY Party, elected since before we joined the EUropean Common Market, has promised to change The EU’s CAP – In 40 Years they have achieved absolutely NOTHING towards that unanimous promise!

To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we thus leave our children and the future, with shame!

PLEASE POST THIS TAG AS FOLLOWS: ON YOUR eMAILS & BLOGS, FORUM POSTINGS & MAILINGS – GET THE MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE IT IS OUR BEST HOPE AS WHOEVER IS APPOINTED WILL MAKE NO DIFFERENCE AS PROVED!

I SUGGEST – since there is clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning to Leave-The-EU for these United Kingdoms and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country & minded that membership of The EU is sucking out the life blood and identity of our Country in a counter patriotic manner and at a cost in hard cash of some £53 Million a day we must consider:

Denying the self seeking & meaningless wanabe MEPs and the no longer relevant MPs the Mythical Mandate for which they clamour.

Diktat is imposed from The EU but Law should be made at Westminster, for our Country & our Peoples, by the peoples of our Country.

It is time that the entire mechanism of governance in these United Kingdoms, which has so clearly failed our Country and our peoples, was radically overhauled and updated to democratic status – failure to change will mean when we Leave-The-EU and/or it finally collapses, as it surely will, we will be no better off as the self same self styled, self enriching clique will be all too willing to betray us as they have done relative to The EU and its fore runners.

To achieve change support rational planning as with The Harrogate Agenda and similar thinking of gravitas.

Demand a Royal Commission on the cost benefits of leaving The EU and of remaining its vassals with a clear ‘Exit & Survival Strategy‘ for implementation OR responsible contingency planning dependent on THEN holding a Referendum on IN or OUT to Let-The-People-Decide!

New ‘EU Referendum Party’ puts pressure on UK PM

Article | September 17, 2012 – 12:25pm | By Andy Carling

A new Eurosceptic party is putting the British Prime minister under increasing pressure to commit to a referendum on Britain’s EU membership ahead of the next UK general election in 2015, a year after the elections for the next European Parliament.

The party, ‘We Demand a Referendum’ was registered with the UK Electoral Commission in June this year and is the brainchild of Eurosceptic MEP, Nikki Sinclaire, who broke away from the UKIP co-led Europe of Freedom and Democracy over concerns that the group had, in her view, been associating with racists and homophobes.

Sinclaire visited 10 Downing St last week to drop off a 100,000 strong petition calling for a referendum, for the second time.

The party is based on Sir James Goldsmith’s old Referendum Party, a forerunner of Nigel Farage’s UKIP, which was set up to contest the 1997 general election, won by Tony Blair’s Labour party in a landslide victory. Goldsmith’s party failed to come anywhere near winning a seat.

The new party intends to field candidates “in every region of the country” and believes they could have 6 MEPs in the next European Parliament, citing a poll for YouGov that said a third of voters would consider voting for them.

The party has won the support of Rupert Murdoch’s Sun newspaper in Britain.

UKIP and the right of the Tory party, who are looking to unseat the Prime minister, are also asking for a referendum and threatening to take seats off the Tories.

Many political insiders in the three main UK political parties believe that the pressure will succeed and there may be a manifesto commitment to a referendum in all major parties. The thinking is that Cameron will bow to pressure and Labour leader, Ed Miliband will follow suit.

However, the move comes after European Commission President Jose Barroso’s state of the EU speech in Strasbourg, where he called for a tighter union and even dared to mention federalism and that a new treaty for the EU, which incorporates a political and fiscal union, would be required.

Former PM John Major, who successfully argued for the UK opting out of euro membership, noted at the weekend, “What you’re now seeing, out of failure and not success, is the euro core looking to integrate further, much more towards a federal structure.”

He added, “That offers an opportunity for us to clean up one of the long-running sores of British politics, which is our relationship with the rest of Europe.”

He appeared to indicate that a discussion, followed by a referendum that would put the new treaty to the electorate was a better approach to the nation’s future relationship with the EU.

UKIP leader loses legal challenge over Van Rompuy ‘damp rag’ attack

By Martin Banks – 17th September 2012

I have a feeling that they do not want this case to come up at allNigel Farage

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has lost an appeal against a penalty imposed by parliament after he compared European council president Herman Van Rompuy to a “damp rag”.

Farage was punished for a 2010 speech in which he said the former Belgian prime minister had “all the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low-grade bank clerk”.

Van Rompuy was present for the speech in parliament’s chamber and the attack was condemned by other MEPs.

Farage sought to overturn a penalty of €2,980 – equivalent to 10 days pay – with a legal challenge to the EU’s general court, which is part of the European Court of Justice (ECJ).

The court, though, has upheld the decision to fine Farage, ruling his appeal as ‘inadmisssible’.

After the judgement was made public Farage said he was “wholly dissatisfied” with the ruling which he says has been rejected on a ‘technicality’.

It is now possible he will appeal against the decision to the ECJ itself.

He said, “I have a feeling that they do not want this case to come up at all.

“It is vital that the freedom of speech of all elected members be upheld in parliament. Freedom of speech is not just for supporters of the EU’s political union.

“I shall now weigh up my options of appeal.”

A UKIP source said, “It was argued that Farage was entitled to have his words spoken in parliament covered by immunity and that the legal affairs committee had acted in error in refusing to uphold his right to free speech.”

It was argued by Farage that this right had been contravened by the decision of parliament’s then president Jerzy Buzek to impose a financial sanction for speaking about Van Rompuy “in less than complimentary terms”.

But the following article was far more newsworthy, as we all know The EU and EU law tends to block the right of free speech for the public and so it is hardly surprising that that level of undemocratic corruption also pertains to controlling speeches in their toy parliament, that oppose their grubby experiment in social engineering and centralised committee dictatorship!

At least the following article shows that there are some who seek to put the aim to Leave-The-EU before their own interests and their own incomes!

MEP heralds ‘breakthrough’ in campaign on Britain’s EU membership

By Martin Banks – 13th September 2012

It will pile pressure on the prime ministerNikki Sinclaire

A campaign aimed at forcing a referendum on Britain’s EU membership has been given a double boost.

A petition demanding a straight “in or out” vote has attracted more than 100,000 signatures – which campaigners say “should be enough” to force a debate on the issue in the UK House of Commons.

Organisers of the so-called ‘Voice of the People’ campaign handed the petition to British prime minister David Cameron at Downing street in London on Thursday.

The delegation was led by Nikki Sinclaire, an independent MEP.

Sinclaire hailed the 100,000 target as a “breakthrough” saying it was bolstered by a new opinion poll which reveals that 56 per cent of those surveyed want the public to have the final say on whether the UK pulls out of the EU.

It showed that 65 per cent of Conservative voters want a referendum on British membership.

Nearly 1500 people took part in the online poll.

She said, “It will pile pressure on the prime minister to hold the first referendum on Europe since 1975.

“This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU – almost six in 10 people want a national debate on the pros and cons of EU membership”

“Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project.

“This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum”

She added, “The politicians ignore the will of the people at their peril”

The campaign for a referendum on Britain’s EU membership is given a double boost this week.A petition demanding a straight “in or out” vote has now attracted more than 100,000 signatures – which should be enough to force a Commons debate. These signatures `The Voice of the People` will be handed into Downing Street by a delegation led By Nikki Sinclaire MEP and Former Apprentice star and Businesswoman Katie Hopkins

The breakthrough is bolstered by a new YouGov poll which reveals a clear majority (56%) want ordinary people to have the final say on whether we pull out.The mountain of signatures has been collected in a cross-party campaign led by West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire and it is the second 100,000 plus petition to be handed in within a year.

It will pile pressure on the Prime Minister to hold the first referendum on Europe since 1975. The YouGov poll shows 65% of Conservative voters want a referendum

Nikki Sinclaire, an Indepenent MEP, said “This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU – Almost six in ten people want a national debate on the pros and cons of EU membership”

Nikki, added: “Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project. This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum”

Katie Hopkins says “We work hard, pay our taxes, abide by the laws of the country, and fulfil our obligations as voters. Yet, we still have not earned the right to a say. Despite this is an organisation that has a very loud voice in our affairs, and has the right to impose a range of laws and regulations on the UK. This cannot be right. It is about time to let the people decide!”

Nikki also pays tribute to the hundreds of people across the country who have helped collate the petition and said the politicians ignore the will of the people at their peril”

.
At 11:50hrs. today:
Team Sinclaire were in Downing Street handing in the petition:

Nikki Sinclaire’s success & Poll feature in The Express

Nikki Sinclaire’s success & Poll feature in The Express

Clean EUkip up NOW & make UKIP electable!

The corruption of some of EUkip’s leadership, their anti UKIP claque & the NEC is what gives the
remaining 10% a bad name!

Nikki Sinclaire’s successfull petition & the Poll she organise, showing 56% of British adults want an In /Out Referendum and 71% of the electorate do NOT trust politicians relative to The EU has now featured in The Express!

.

~~~~~~~~~~#########~~~~~~~~~~
.
Hi,
Nikki Sinclaire seems to be maintaining her efforts both on behalf of her constituents with such issues as illegal developements and the squatters in flagrant abuse of planning laws and the interests of local rate payers and her intransigent opposition to the idiocy of HS2.
Her role on a National basis is just as laudable with her team having obtained a further 100,000 signatures demanding the democratic right to an IN / OUT referendum on the issue of EU membership.
Let us not forget that UKIP with all the support it could call on failed abysmally to even manage the petition they all too readily accepted £250,000 of tax payers’ money and campaigned to raise further funds.
Nigel Farage, David Lott & Mark Croucher made much of organising that incident which seemingly turned out to be nothing more than a money making scam – as not only was no petition ever presented but worse still no accounting was ever made of the money nor valid petition material ever produced.
It was widely believed that the money was trousered by the so called organisers and no evidence was seemingly ever produced to the contrary!
Nikki Sinclaire has, on the other hand conducted 2 petitions both of which she funded and gained support from others on the way msking the petition which obtained a debate of the full House of Commons very much cross party in collection of the signatures and more notably by gaining the support of various political party’s MPs and elected members.
This time she has branched out and has the support of known politicians and has also brought on board Katie Hopkins and others.
The news of her 100,000 signatures and that she had brought Katie Hopkins into her campaign was a closely guarded secret, until the announcement in an article in yesterdays Sun newspaper and in the editorial see CLICK HERE
.
Good to see the publicity Nikki Sinclaire had in The Sun on Sunday has been picked up by The Express on Monday.
    PUBLIC DEMAND EUROPE VOTE
The poll was commissioned by Independent Euro MP Nikki Sinclaire
The poll was commissioned by Independent Euro MP Nikki Sinclaire
Monday September 10,2012
By Macer Hall
MORE than half of all voters want a national referendum on whether the UK should cut its ties with Brussels, an opinion poll found yesterday.
A total of 56 per cent of people quizzed in the YouGov survey wanted to be given a say on “whether or not Britain remains a member of the European Union”.
And a massive 71 per cent admitted they did not trust politicians to work for the best interests of the UK in the EU.
The latest indication of the growing demand for the first referendum on Britain’s links with Brussels since 1975 last night added to the huge pressure on the Prime Minister.
It will also fuel support for the Daily Express crusade for the country to leave the EU. But David Cameron has repeatedly blocked calls for an in-or-out referendum, and insists that Britain should remain in the EU.
The poll was commissioned by Independent Euro MP Nikki Sinclaire, who has launched the Campaign for a Referendum.
ì
People across the nation are calling for a referendum. This is the most important issue this country faces
î
Nikki Sinclaire
She is due to deliver a 100,000-name petition demanding a vote to Downing Street on Thursday.
Ms Sinclaire, who represents the West Midlands, said: “People across the nation are calling for a referendum. This is the most important issue this country faces.”
The YouGov poll of 1,474 voters found that only 28 per cent were opposed to a referendum.
Last November, a Commons motion calling for an EU referendum was narrowly defeated, but Mr Cameron faced a huge rebellion as 79 Tories backed the demand.
It is astonishing to behold the band wagon jumping of UKIP as they try desperately, in the comments section, to try to climb on Nikki Sinclaire’s hard won and hard worked for achievements.
It is sad to see how UKIP supporters have been betrayed by their leadership team who have done so much to try to denigrate Sinclaire and have lied about her, bullied and defamed her and even it seems tried to set her up with the police, using false evidence and criminal false witness, or so it seems from the facts at CLICK HERE – I guess with low life dishonest & corrupt trash like this in UKIP CLICK HERE & HERE & also HERE one becomes aware UKIP is very much a part of the EU problem having achieved nothing of value to Leave-The-EU in 20 years it is increasingly irrelevant.
Whilst Nikki Sinclaire just ploughs on working for her constituents and to seek to Leave-The-EU UKIP seemingly sell the positions on MEP lists and even on the NEC – some for notoriety like the failures of politics like the Hamiltons, David Bannerman and those willing to pay fees to participate in elections.
Considering UKIP just how many members of the leadership team does one need to provide with sexual favours to gain a position not just in the bed but on the MEP lists. One wonders when they are swanning about what order it is best to prostitute oneself with perhaps Gawain Towler for the PR value and then Farage and subsequently Helmer – if one is into alfresco in the street perhaps a session with Godfrey Bloom would help or for a fuller opportunitya relationship with a campaign manager may help.
On the subject of campaign managers I note that Chris Bruni-Lowe has parted company with UKIP after taking fuller advantage of the assorted bicycles on offer in the UKIP stud we are reliably told – one wonders what take on this Malcolm Pearson takes! Farage’s ire is all too apparent!
There has been a fairly constant smear campaign against the rather too libidinous campaigner from a member of UKIP’s leadership team who felt challenged, if not threatened, in their position, one assumes!
In terms of professionalising the party one can only find humour in the comment:
Trying to work with UKIP is like working with fred Karno’s Army
The parting shot of Katie Snape, who has seemingly left UKIP in disgust, after the great self congratulation from UKIP leadership when she joined the staff from Sky news team in a couple of months ago!
One has to wonder how UKIP and its cowardly muppets sheltering behind anonymity finds polls to quote claiming they are gaining so many supporters and percentages around 12% when they consistently do so badly in real ballot box results in domestic elections where they struggle to get 5% in the seats they manage to stand in!
Just how can pollsters be so consistently wrong about UKIP? When UKIP has proved it is so consistently an irrelevance when it comes to the campaign to Leave-The-EU.
Greg_L-W..
TO LEAVE THE EU
What is the exit and survival plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits of leaving The EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples – they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our border.
NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.
Politicians are failing to tell the truth, but so are almost all wanabe Politicians, the MSM and Snivil Cervants.
The fact is that even if EVERY British MEP wanted change in The EU it would achieve NOTHING.
Every single British Politician, of EVERY Party, elected since before we joined the EUropean Common Market, has promised to change The EU’s CAP – In 40 Years they have achieved absolutely NOTHING towards that goal of unanimity in aim!
To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we thus leave our children and the future, with shame!
PLEASE POST THIS TAG AS FOLLOWS: ON YOUR eMAILS & BLOGS, FORUM POSTINGS & MAILINGS – GET THE MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE IT IS OUR BEST HOPE AS WHOEVER IS APPOINTED WILL MAKE NO DIFFERENCE AS PROVED!
I SUGGEST – since there is clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning to Leave-The-EU for these United Kingdoms and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country & minded that membership of The EU is sucking out the life blood and identity of our Country in a counter patriotic manner and at a cost in hard cash of some £53 Million a day we must consider:
Denying the self seeking & meaningless wanabe MEPs and the no longer relevant MPs the Mythical Mandate for which they clamour.
Diktat is imposed from The EU but Law should be made at Westminster, for our Country & our Peoples by the peoples of our Country.
It is time that the entire mechanism of governance in these United Kingdoms, which has so clearly failed our Country and our peoples, was radically overhauled and updated to democratic status – failure to change will mean when we Leave-The-EU and/or it finally collapses, as it surely will, we will be no better off as the self same self styled, self enriching clique will be all too willing to betray us as they have done relative to The EU and its fore runners.
Conservative Home Over Eggs the UKIP threat as clearly UKIP have proved themselves to be unfit for purpose – ANY purpose other than perhaps in aiding The EU to undermine the credibility of a EUroSceptic cause in these United kingdoms!
As a EUroRealist I find UKIP represents absolutely no British values which I would espouse to with its self serving, self enriching, racially and religiously intolerant clique in leadership bribing a claque of supporters to keep them on the Gravy Train!
Hi,
there is a relatively interesting comment about UKIP and the polls (makes a change from Roger Knapman UKIP & The Poles!) which I have reproduced from Conservative Home where is you wish to read all comments you can read on the internet.
Cameron’s ratings have collapsed, UKIP could cost the Tories 30 seats… but there is SOME good news in the opinion polls
By Tim Montgomerie
Follow Tim on Twitter
I won’t comment here on the biggest poll of the weekend – over at Majority Conservatism Paul Goodman provides a comprehensive review of Lord Ashcroft’s mega poll on the political attitudes of ethnic minority Britons.
Cameron-Opinion-Poll
The more regular opinion polls are not good for the Conservative Party. I summarise them within today’s newslinks (scroll down this page). In today’s Sunday Times (£) Peter Kellner of YouGov makes for gloomy reading:
“The Prime Minister is no longer a clear asset to his party. Immediately before the Budget, 44% thought he was doing well, while 49% thought he was doing badly. His net rating, minus 5, was pretty good for a Prime Minister in mid-term. Now his rating is minus 31 (well 32%, badly 63%). Only Gordon Brown can match such a collapse in popularity, when he scrapped plans to hold a snap election in October 2007. It is not a happy precedent.”
Here’s how respondents to the latest YouGov poll rate Cameron (PDF):
  • 42% see the PM as competent, 47% as incompetent (-5%);
  • 41% see him as strong and 44% as weak (-3%);
  • 42% as likeable and 46% as dislikeable (-4%);
  • 39% say he’s in control of his government and 47% say not (-8%);
  • 23% see him as in touch, 69% as out-of-touch (-46%);
76% say Cameron doesn’t understand how ordinary people live and most of this group say it’s because of his privileged background (50%) rather than other factors (26%).UKIPMr Kellner focuses on the threat that UKIP poses to the Tories. Noting that, as of today, UKIP is 10% in the latest YouGov survey and 1.4 million former Tories have transferred to the party, he proposes a scenario where they could “crucify” the Tories:
“Suppose the economy continues in the doldrums. Suppose Cameron’s ratings stay on the floor. In 2014, a year before the next general election, Europe’s voters will decide who represents them in the European Parliament. Voting will take place under a proportional system that helps smaller parties – and the anti-EU UKIP most of all. Last time, in 2009, it came second, ahead of Labour. Unless the Tories recover, I would not bet heavily against UKIP topping the poll in 2014, or coming close… UKIP would have the credibility it has always craved. Under our first-past-the-post system for electing MPs, it might end up with too few votes to win many seats for itself – but quite enough to scupper the Tories. Suppose it wins over just 2,000-3,000 unhappy Tories in each of the key marginals. This kind of division on the Right would be enough to cost Cameron up to thirty seats, and hand victory to Ed Miliband. If the shift to UKIP is much greater, Labour could win by a landslide.”
The YouGov survey isn’t ALL bad for the Conservatives, however:
  • By 36% to 28% David Cameron and George Osborne are more trusted to run the economy than Ed Miliband and Ed Balls;
  • By 54% to 27% voters accept that “big” spending cuts are necessary and would be being implemented whoever was in power;
  • Only 32% blame the current government for the double dip recession – 29% blame global factors including the Eurozone, 17% blame the last Labour government’s legacy and 10% blame the banks for not lending enough.
To which I have responded:
Hi,
mid term polls are ALWAYS staggeringly unreliable & as Neil Kinnock will tell you they ain’t much use at elections either!
One huge benefit of pollsters is they carry the clout with politicians with their perceived power to get their odious wives jobs way beyond their experience or ability.
Now let us consider the polls of the last few days where Cameron has fared ill – it is all very well to see him denounced and denigrated but with no credible alternative whatever the polls say is absolutely irrelevance.!
Then of course there is the myth of UKIP that pops up like a bad smell whenever someone wants to have a pop at one of the two political parties that ARE British politics.
For all UKIP’s 10% this weekend let us not forget their track record when despite having been at 15% some time ago they have a record of serial failure in domestic politics.
Consider that ina one horse race their leader came a resounding THIRD beated by an independent of little merit and less known, despite his wearing of a dolphin outfit!!
UKIP has NEVER done well in ANY domestic election and despite th3ere being some 19,500 seats available by election in Britain you will note UKIP has NEVER held one of any note and currently has less than 30 on district councils or above (including  MEPs)!
I wonder if it is their association with some of the most vile extremists in EU politics in their EFD Group which harbours, racists, anti Jewish, anti homosexual, Holocaust deniers and advocates of violence as a political tool!
The cyber stalking, low grade abuse by members of its NEC and staff may well show what they would be like in any authority as with their serial corruption and dishonesty which are well documented.
It has been shown that a part of its leadership policy is to lie to its members to cover-up for its misdemeanours and crimes as with Derek Clark MEP and Nigel Farage it is also well documented that Gerard Batten MEP is all too willing to abuse his position and waste Police time to seek to suppress free speech and discussion of his overt antipathy to Muslims which borders on incitement to race hate based upon his own superstitions and fears and that he has also obtained a gagging order to prevent the goings on in Courty where he is facing the Court on issues of racial discrimination etc. we are given to understand.
Then again it may well mitigate against UKIP that one of Farage’s ‘friends’ was drunk in an MPs flat and stole his Blackberry, correspondence and House of Commons Pass, then we have the turncoat Tory Bursnell advocating witholding the vote from the unemployed and supported by Alexandra Swann an ex Tory now acting on Roger Helmer’s staff (I’ll bet the Tories were glad to see the back of these misfits!
I wonder do the pollsters foment results to suit the BBC agenda as we are all well aware of just how useful an ent6ertainer Nigel Farage has become – would that UKIP could find a leader with ability beyond that of stunts and childish outbursts!
It is a tragedy, for those of us who are implacably opposed to being vassals of The EU betrayed by our politicians and civil service (for their own gain) that UKIP has become so befouled as to be unfit for purpose, particularly when the LibLabCon are marching to the same tune backed by a corrupt and simpering BBC andf much of the media who have become to fat and over blown to represent any view other than that which feeds them the most public money from the lowest grade of political class for many generations.
They say a Government is at its best with a strong opposition – little wonder the present government requires the shibboleth of the mythical threat of UKIP rattled at them by the pollsters to even show signs of waking up!
UKIP is no threat to politicians of any stature as they lack ANY gravitas or competence – Well perhaps they are then a threat to the sad spectacle of those we see bickering like children in Parliament!
We are clearly bereft of leadership in the LibLabUKIPCon and since it is not leadership we want but sound representation our position as a Country is unsurprisingly calamitous bankrupt in all but name by 13 unlucky years of economic illiteracy and self enriching betrayal we now find ourselves with unconvincing Hooray Henrys for Governance as our industry is syphoned off by our EUropean enemies.
Greg_L-W.
Hi,
one has to wonder if the shambolic management of UKIP includes their CEO sending ‘e’Mails to himself for practice at how to wriggle and spin when banged to rights!
Here is the OFFICIAL spin from UKIP:
From:Steven Crowther
To:Stephen Crowther
Dear All
UKIP have just had the temerity to catch and overtake the Lib-Dems in the polls (consistently, not just a one-day fluke). YouGov, Opinium, Survation have all put us level with or ahead of the Lib-Dems over the past week.
This has resulted in two things: first, the mainstream media have become a lot more interested in us, leading to a lot more radio and TV activity coming our way this week; and two, the mainstream media have become a lot more interested in us, as the call goes out to ‘get UKIP’.
We did, in fact, release our own statement on this yesterday after it became clear that the Guardian had somehow come by the details of this (very old) case, pointing out that it involved absolutely no suggestion of personal gain. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Over the next few days/weeks, we can expect more of this, as the establishment try and slow down our advance. The other parties are very nervous about the forthcoming elections, and extremely upset that we have popped up out of the ‘Others’ bucket.
Every attack proves how much we have them rattled.
Regards, Steve
Heanton,
Phone 01271 813844 Mobile 07775 787579
e-mail: sjcrowther@btinternet.com
We note the deliberate deception, and misrepresentation of facts – so let us look at the facts rather than the very amateur spin:
UKIP have just had the temerity to catch and overtake the Lib-Dems in the polls
But as the actual election box shows this is of absolutely ZERO significance and on a high of 11% in one poll this would not reflect in a single solitary won seat! Let us not forget UKIP polled 15% some time back and has still never gained more than 30 elected seats out of the 19,500 available and has never come so much as near election to Westminster.
(consistently, not just a one-day fluke).
Only a politician could see ONE week as a measure of ‘consistency’ – short termism of the most idiotic type that just shows UKIP to be unprofessional and verging on stupid!
YouGov, Opinium, Survation have all put us level with or ahead of the Lib-Dems over the past week.
Let us not forget the ‘Consistency’ of the polls in assuring us all that Neil Kinnock would be elected yet you may remember John Major won the election with a clear working majority (rather better than Cameron!)
This has resulted in two things: first, the mainstream media have become a lot more interested in us, leading to a lot more radio and TV activity coming our way this week;
Unfortunately UKIP lacks professionalism and none of the publicity has been capitalised on with embarrassing performances of the clearly past it (or drunk) Lord Heskith whose performance on Newsnight was embarrassing to watch and clearly damaging for UKIP.
and two, the mainstream media have become a lot more interested in us,
Yet not a single supportive article appeared and we note UKIP’s latest defectees from the Tories having realised (one must assume) their imminent demise as significant in their old home have been doing all they can to damage UKIP be it the witterings of Tom Bursnall and his odious suggestion that the unemployed should be denied the vote!
One would perhaps expect the next claims to be, in order to please UKIP’s EU partners in their EFD Group that Jews, homosexuals, Muslims and immigrants should also be disenfranchised but no – nothing so prosaic, the discreditted ex Tory bimbettet the foul mouthed embarrassment Alexandra Swann now working for another UKIP convert from the Tories the passed over MEP Roger Helmer and thus considering her well salaried position representing him takes a moment away from her childish expletive ridden twitterings to support the idiotic concept put forward by Bursnall!
Little wonder UKIP is getting more publicity as it flounders in the mire, bereft of ethics, morality, integrity, leadership, professionalism, gravitas or even fundamental manners!!
as the call goes out to ‘get UKIP’.
Perhaps UKIP can provide evidence when you consider the disproportionate amount of publicity they gain relative to seats held and surely it is a measure of professionalism to control the sordid behaviour, criminality, dishonesty and lies that all too often form ad-hominem attacks without ANY factual grounding – UKIP has every opportunity to control what press it earns by acting professionally and thus being taken seriously!
The first result is this story in the Guardian today: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2012/apr/20/ukip-meps-misused-eu-allowances
How soon they forget! UKIP leadership published a rather lame attempt at justification in the relatively obscure Huffington Post which I do concede was probably read by VERY few people!
‘In a desperate attempt at a spoiler, to suppress the truth and distort the FACTS, UKIP has published clearly dishonest spin on their Huffington Post site.
Having lied repeatedly to members and also to The East Midlands Regional Committee Derek Clark with the full backing of Nigel Farage has tried to cover-up the fact that he was found guilty of fraudulent use of public money just as did Tom Wise!
IF the spin from UKIP had one shred of truth to it then why did Derek Clark keep telling lies?
As far back as 13-Jul-2009 DEREK CLARK LIED to The Derbyshire Times as written at the time CLICK HERE
First published CLICK HERE
We did, in fact, release our own statement on this yesterday after it became clear that the Guardian had somehow come by the details
‘somehow’? A mark of UKIP’s unprofessionalism would seem to be that they do not understand how tyhe media works as in this case where some time ago due to the blatant lies and dishonesty of Derek Clark which seemed to be institutionalised amongst UKIP’s inept and unprincipled leadership an FoI was obtained and it was decided NOT to publish the facts until there was a body of publicity on which to ride as UKIP with their consistently risible results in real terms (rather than the fantasy world of polls) were of so little significance politically that editors merely spiked reports of their corruption and crass incompetence.
of this (very old) case,
Indeed it is old but the longer that UKIP lied and Derek Clark provided ever more rope to hang himself as he lied to the electorate, lied to UKIP member, lied to his colleagues, had lied to the media and even lied to his regional committee – it was the fact that this sordid old man lacked the integrity to even accept responsibility for his own lies and blamed UKIP.
Derek Clark stated he had been officially advised to lie – that started to turn this into a story.
It then became a provable FACT that Nigel Farage had also been telling lies to cover-up the theft from the public purse – even stating that he was ‘protecting Clark because Clark gave HIM money’.
Clearly there is no deceit to which UKIP leadership will not sink to keep their places on the gravy train for self enrichment!
It became a story as it was clear that UKIP had a policy of telling lies and defaming honest people
pointing out that it involved absolutely no suggestion of personal gain.
It is interesting to note that the CLAIM is the money was spent on political staff who seem in the main to be employed to ensure that the present clique remain on the gravy train with their over generous incomes and guarantees of large pensions.
Let us not forget that Derek Clark was a long retired school teacher of General Science lacking the qualifications to teach to a higher level and specialised in ‘youngsters’ with difficulties we are told – When of course he is not risibly passing himself off as a ‘Scientist’ to the gullible!
As a UKIP MEP his income is beyond the dreams of avarice relative to a school teacher and even then he would retain hi9s various pensions!
Does grubby greed know no bounds in UKIP? Clearly he has been catastrophic as a EUroSceptic MEP such that even his own Regional Committee has sacked him as chairm,an and is calling for his resignation as an MEP (He won’t resign as he will be supported by the party fuhrer Nigel Farage who will be selecting ALL MEP replacement candidates under his new constitution! Derek Clark is far to compliant and as Farage says ‘He gives ME money’ so he will be retained I expect).
Quite the opposite, in fact.
 This may actually be true as it is known that a number of UKIP MEPs have been on the fiddle and ordered to repay money fraudulently obtained – so possibly they pooled the stolen money to retain their seats collectively not just personally!
Over the next few days/weeks, we can expect more of this,
I believe so as more of the corruption and dishonesty in UKIP comes to the fore such as this from an MEP elected bas UKIP but who refused to sit with them on moral and ethical grounds who now sits as an Independent distanced from the racist, anti Jewish, anti homosexual advocates of violence:
When taking up my seat as an MEP I was told, along with my colleagues, that UKIP would not take part in these delegations as they were simply opportunities for ‘taxpayer-funded jollies’. In fact, this was not the full truth.
Without our knowledge or permission, our seats on delegations were being traded away in order to attract more members into the EFD group. One Danish MEP, who has subsequently left the EFD to sit alongside the British Conservatives, at one point sat on no less than 6 delegations.
Our seats were traded away and given in some cases to pro-EU MEPs. Instead of giving us the opportunity to engage with foreign governments and tell them the truth about the EU, we were handing our swords to the enemy. All this was hidden from us.
To view the original of this article CLICK HERE
as the establishment try and slow down our advance.
The results as presented in the ballot boxes has shown there is no such advance – in one by-election this week UKIP polled 91 votes far behind The BNP! In another they could not even find a candidate to field!
The other parties are very nervous about the forthcoming elections,
A very politically naiive comment as that is the nature of politics but to be fair in a few constituencies UKIP may take votes off of one of the political parties that results in the other winning – but as this is unpredictable it is of no serious significance being no weapon politically!
and extremely upset that we have popped up out of the ‘Others’ bucket.
This is undeniable, but one wonders how long it will last – UKIP has its own ‘bucket’ – The ‘Sick Bucket’ for those sickened by politics to use to register their protest but even so they stand not a prayer of significant results as even taken at their recent highest poll 11% would win not a single seat!
Let us not forget that some time back UKIP polled 15% and still they have no MP their leader having been beaten into third place in a one horse race by an Independent dressed as a dolphin!
Every attack proves how much we have them rattled.
Such comments do rather make it clear why UKIP has achieved so very little after 20 years with less than 30 elected seats won out of the available 19,500!
‘rattled’ – could that in political terms be:
Baby + Pram = Rattle?
That UKIP tries to diver people from the irrefutable FACT that their leadership are a criminal bunch of cyber bullies and stalkers willing to lie repeatedly and defame those providing FACTS and the truth just to keep their place on the gravy train where they are so well placed for self enrichment rather than following the lead of Nikki Sinclaire in terms of active campaigning and donating to the cause!
We note Mike Nattrass would seem to be outraged by the inclusion of his name but let us remind him of two FACTS:
IF you sleep with dogs you get fleas – Do note that like Trevor Colman he may well have resigned from the vile and racist EFD Group but yet he supports Farage in remaining in the group for his enrichment!
Secondly it was Daniel Foggo who made it clear he had the FoI details when Nattrass complained that The Sunday Times had published this FACTUAL story about him: CLICK HERE
The issues here in Steve Crowther’s rather foolish and crassly amateur letter are clear – This has little to do with howmuch money was stolen, by whom, for what or how repaid – anyone with a moral compass will appreciate it is about TWO far more fundamental issues:
01.   Clearly UKIP are all too willing to steal from the tax payers for their own gain – thus undermining ANY claims of moral high ground or right to criticise others in The EU for stealing public money ‘For what THEY believe in’.
02.   It is clear that dishonesty in UKIP’s leadership is a matter of policy as they not only steal public money for their own use but more despicably lie to cover-up their crimes just as Nigel Farage has consistently lied about Tom Wise – has FAILED totally to account for the 100s of £1,000s that went missing from the donations to UKIP through Ashford and the other call centers, has failed to account for the Wine Scam, lied to cover-up for Annabelle Fuller’s criminality.
That tjhis shower of self serving two bit crooks and low lifes have lied to the media in UKIP’s name, lied to members, lied to the electorate, lied to their colleagues, lied to their regional committee and have defamed those who consistently’ (not just one week!) brought provided and published the truth about their behaviour is beneath contempt!
A betrayal of trust, a betrayal of office and a betrayal of these United Kingdoms of indescribable dishonesty.
Resign you have done enough damage – Give EUroScepticism a chance as you have achieved ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for EUroScepticism as you all persued your own personal gain!
Regards,
Greg_L-W.
