UKIP Policy Chief Suzanne Evans ‘Cried’ After Backstabbing Farage

UKIP’s Deputy Chairman and head of policy Suzanne Evans is reported to have cried and “begged for a job at Breitbart” after a failed coup against UKIP leader Nigel Farage, according to party sources.

Evans, who was credited with UKIP’s flawless manifesto launch, is said to have “bought into” the Carswell narrative in believing that a leadership coup against Nigel Farage was credible and a “done deal”. After Mr Farage’s advisors got wind of the manipulation, they are said to have confronted the problem, and blocked a “left wing takeover” of the party by Ms Evans and the out of favour Patrick O’Flynn.

Breitbart London has learned that as Suzanne Evans discovered that she was Mr Farage’s favourite to be interim leader of the party, she began plotting to make the left-leaning Patrick O’Flynn the chairman of the party. Mr Farage’s advisors discovered the plot and blocked the group, led by Douglas Carswell MP, by keeping Mr Farage as leader.

Ms. Evans is said to have returned to her office in UKIP’s Brooks Mews HQ, “screaming and crying” over what she perceived was the end of her career.

She was later heard to beg former Farage advisors for “a job with Breitbart London” in an attempt to shore up her own financial situation.

Friends of Mr Farage told Breitbart London: “Carswell, O’Flynn, and Evans had clearly thought that Nigel was going. They thought it was a done deal. They positioned themselves to take over the party and move it more towards the left wing of British politics. They failed and now they’re all desperately trying to suck up to Nigel.”

Breitbart London understands that Douglas Carswell MP has desperately sought to contact Mr Farage over the past 12 hours, only to be met with a stony silence.

Ms Evans attempted to reverse ferret a few days ago, according to party sources, but was hung up on by Mr Farage, who said he didn’t want or need her support to continue as party leader.

Talking of ferrets it is clear that as ever Ukip are fighting like ferrest in a sack with Nigel Farage, who over many years has shown he has difficulty in controlling his zip, his drinking, his violent temper tantrumms and his unforgiving intollerance has now admitted his Ukip cult is little more than a one man band in today’s Sunday Express with the arrogant and hubristic boast, backed by Richard Desmond that “I’m in total control”.

Could it be that having been in ‘total control’ since Alan Aked effectively asuming the Party he had started was doomed with his parting memo to Craig McKinley (now Tory MP for Thanet) that he had left and Craig was now in charge; soon of course to see the defacto leadership of Ukip seized by Nigel Farage and his odious cronies.

Now the true scale of the catastrophe is becoming far more apparent as clearly brand Ukip has been subourned and subverted by ‘total control’ and as was shown in Thanet, where Nigel Farage stood unsuccessfully in his 7th. Parliamentary election, brand Ukip met with a majority vote taking overall control of Thanet Council whilst brand Farage was considered too toxic to elect.

Many of us had fortold the results for the General Election accurately, unlike those cranno rectally retentive pundits of The Westminster Bubble and we have been and yet again warn that it will be the emmulation of the Referendum of 1975 that will guarantee to lose the OUT argument yet again.

I admit I was deeply unimpressed with the partisan comments and crass conclusions of ‘Purple Revolution’ by two self proclaimed experts on Ukip, who managed to get much of it wrong! However they did pick up on one quote of common sense from Nigel Farage when he said:

“It is frankly just not credible for me to continue to lead the party without a Westminster seat. Was I supposed to brief Ukip policy from the Westminster Arms? No – if I fail to win South Thanet, it is curtains for me. I will have to step down.”

What eventually made him clearly without credibility was when he acted with integrity and stood by his word only to renege on his own common sense and rather than take the summer off to let Ukip lick its wounds and indulge in such recrimination, in fighting and blood letting as was needed to then put himself forward for a leadership election in September – IF he so wished.

It is hard not to speculate as to what it is he is frightened will come to light if he risks having others in control, might it be the accounts that terrify him or perhaps secret deals and payolla or even details of his drinking and private life – is this why he now claims to wish to run his cult until 2035 – rather overlooking the plight of his protege whom he chose and annointed as an MEP and the dire straits Ashley Mote now finds himself facing at 79 – perhaps Nigel Farage will be forced to run his cult until he drops!

Let us accept one proven fact there is a certain type, including many ex BNP supporters and loyal Labour deserters who love him but equally there is a better informed and better balanced army of patriots who loath his style and behaviour and there is no doubt Ukip has an army of implaccable enemies it has rightly earned.

To see Nigel Farage within a country mile of the referendum on the EU involved in the out campaign may puff up his ego and please his claque but for the electorate at large it would be the kiss of death to any possibility of a vote to Leave-The-EU, a fact which may explain why we saw the BBC and their selected panelists fawning over him on Question Time last week for surely they must realise that the best hope of a vote to stay IN the EU lies in the hands of Nigel Farage and failue is all but assured should he put himself forward for the NO campaign.

Already we have the weak minded mouthing the same mantras of personal egotism with their demands for a ‘Big Tent’ approach and dominance by the very same grouping of self important pratts as last time, looking to feeding their egos and their bank accounts regardless of the fact they WILL lose, same personalities same background same style just different names!

Let us leave the last word on the catastrophic outcome, should the same old same old clique gain a Westminster based control of the OUT Campaign, to the fiercly independent and well informed Richard North who has for many years had his light hidden under a bushel supplied by Christopher Booker who fronted much of North’s research and deductive ability, which became the beacon of EUroScepticism both in Christopher Booker’s weekly column in The Sunday Telegraph and various articles in other papers and journals, not to mention his lectures at Staff College & a number of very well informed and eminently readable books.

All the pundits of the Westminster Bubble prattle on about ‘Big Tents’ and not firming up on the facts to ensure a consensus, meanwhile forgetting the aim is to achieve an out vote not a jolly clique and a continued salary/income and have their egos massaged – whilst they have been wining and dining and beating their gums whilst they schmooze eachother and a few known money sources that seek their egos being stroked, Richard has been ploughing on to ensure he is the master of his brief with his book on HOW to Leave-The-EU FleXcit ready for publication in September with every detail meticulously cross checked and referenced in detail, now running to some 400 pages which you can see an introductory review of at:

From the mouth of our enemy, Jonathan Freedland, comes a devastating analysis which is all too accurate – far too accurate for comfort. He writes:

At present, plenty of people in the out camp reckon that if Farage is their leading voice, they will lose. They point to the Farage paradox: that as Ukip’s poll rating has risen in recent years, support for a British exit from the EU has diminished. Back in 2012, when Ukip commanded just 3 percent of public support, more people wanted to leave the EU than to stay in. Today, in a year when Ukip has won 13 percent of the votes in a general election, “in” can lead “out” by as much as 20 points. It seems Farage does well galvanising the convinced, but repels everyone else.

This is what worries outers, especially those in the Conservative party. With David Cameron now lionised by his party as an election-winning hero, he probably won’t have to extract too much from EU negotiations to win support for an “in” vote from all but the most diehard Tory Eurosceptics. So long as Cameron can point to a couple of token victories over Brussels, the likes of Michael Gove and Philip Hammond – who once threatened to vote for out – are likely to campaign to stay in. That would leave a dearth of big beasts on the “out” side – with Farage as the most visible face. And that could sink the anti-EU cause.

The point is well-made about Farage: “It seems Farage does well galvanising the convinced, but repels everyone else”. And that’s the point. People either love him or hate him – the trouble is most hate him, and to win the referendum we need 51 percent of the voters.

The next point is well-made as well: David Cameron probably won’t have to extract too much from EU negotiations to win support for an “in” vote.

Too many people are being far too complacent about the deal Mr Cameron can bring back from Brussels. This is the man who “vetoed” a treaty and was applauded by the media and his party. Even to this day, the legend survives.

All the signs are that the newly-anointed Prime Minister, in cahoots with the “colleagues” is capable of pulling off a theatrical “spectacular” – more than enough to unite the majority of his party, and to bring the media on-side.

This indeed will leave Farage as the lead political figure in the campaign. The few Tory “big beasts” who are still prepared to back the outers will then be linked with Farage and their continued campaigning will be political suicide – they will be isolated and marginalised – the rump of the Tory “right wing”. Very few others will want to take the risk.

Freedland’s analysis, therefore, points to failure – he paints a scenario that really is all too real. Farage taking a prominent part in the campaign will guarantee we lose. As Complete Bastard points out, he is a disaster – the one man who, single-handedly can lose us the referendum.

But winning the referendum must come first. Farage should stand down and we should make this a people’s campaign, capitalising on the anti-politics mood. A vote for “out” then becomes a vote against all politicians – Farage included. Tragically, it was never meant to be like this. But Farage has toxified the eurosceptic brand and this is the result. Even the Guardian can see it – our enemies understand us better than we do ourselves.

On the bright side, though, we have a late intervention from Douglas Carswell, who is telling Farage to take a break from Ukip. Politics is about persuasion, he says:

And getting noticed isn’t enough to win over people. You need the right tone. At times, Ukip has failed to strike the right tone. By all means we should highlight the problem of health tourism. But we need to admit that using the example of HIV patients to make the point was ill-advised.

Ukip, Carswell observes, has been at its most persuasive when we have been most optimistic. Anger is never a great way to motivate people — at least not for very long.

“The party”, he notes, “was founded to oppose Britain’s membership of the European Union. Getting us out is one of the reasons for our existence. For the first time in a generation, we now have a majority of MPs in the House of Commons in favour of a referendum on our membership. Instead of sniping at the government as they prepare the legislation for the referendum, we should take heart”.

Sternly, he tells his readers that, rather than automatically dismissing every idea for EU reform as necessarily bad, we should explain why we think we could do even better outside the EU.

Instead of feeding the idea that EU membership is synonymous with immigration, Ukip should help draw attention to the myriad of ways in which being run by Brussels makes us worse off. As a vital part of the coalition campaigning for “out”, Ukip needs to strike the right tone. We must be part of a movement, but not seek to dominate it, he says.

Rather than focusing on the 13 percent of people who voted Ukip at the last election, the “out” campaign needs to find ways of winning the argument among the 87 percent of people who did not. Strident euroscepticism won’t do it, he says. The clue is in the name. Ukip was founded to make the UK independent of the EU. That’s what brought us into politics. We mustn’t get distracted. We mustn’t confuse ends and means. We should be prepared to work with people across the spectrum who want ultimate power to reside with people answerable to the rest of us rather than Eurocrats.

“There are many decent Green, SNP, Labour, Lib Dem and Conservative voters who share this aim. Are we going to work with them or talk over them?” Asks Carswell, “Are we going to play our part in a positive coalition, making the case for a better future or are we going to drown out messages other than our own?”

The case is there to be made: a global Britain, trading with friends and allies on every continent including Europe. A democratic Britain, able to hire and fire its lawmakers. A free Britain, living under its own institutions. Every action we take over the next 12 months should be to promote that goal.

Concludes the one and only Ukip MP: “All of us Ukip supporters should ask one question. Is what I’m doing at this moment making an ‘out’ vote more likely? If it isn’t, stop it and do something else”.

If Ukip can take on board that message, then there is some hope and some room for accommodation. But it has to be a Ukip without Farage.

Farage/Carswell Fall Out Semi-Denied By Party

Tim Aker is the latest victim of the internal UKIP power play: sacked as the party’s policy chief this morning. Or so the spin goes. Guido understands this is less to do with the time he spent on the manifesto and more to do with the continuing debate raging for the ideological life and soul of the party. Between being an MEP and duffing up Labour in Thurrock, it was only a matter of time before Aker stepped back from his party role, but only a fool would suggest he’s not still a serious player within the party.

Rumours also continue to swirl around the tetchy relationship between Nigel Farage and Douglas Carswell. Guido is told there has been something of a breakdown, with particular anger among UKIP top brass over Carswell’s recent off-message Mail on Sunday intervention describing his new party as “internationalist” and “inclusive”. Guido hears Farage believes that to be “Cameroon nonsense”. This piece written by Nick Wood, the former IDS spinner turned Farage-confident, has been circulated within party circles as the UKIP leader’s real opinion:

“Various BBC-type Aunt Sallies were erected only to be assailed by the heroic St Douglas. “We must stop insulting immigrants,” asserted the hair-shirted one. “Dislike of foreigners is not merely offensive, but absurd.” Various other Harmanesque pieties followed, including the laughable observation that there has never been anything splendid about isolation. How about May 1940 after the fall of Paris? Our “isolation” then proved the salvation of Western civilisation.”

Long-serving, more traditional, golf clubbing UKIP veterans are said to be “upset” by Carswell’s maverick modernising moves, and things are so bad that they sneeringly call him “that Tory” behind his back. Rumours of a split at the top are denied by Farage’s spokesman: “we all absolutely adore Douglas”. But when were they last seen together?

To which I respond, to add clarity, for those who may be a little out of touch with the Ukip ferrets as they continue their squabbling inside their sack – visibly tossing out dead ferrets and whilst consuming others to hide the evidence of how vicious the fight for control is!

Ukip is neither big enough intellectually, nor has it adequate gravitas or vision, to contain the egos and ambitions of Nigel Farage, Reckwell & Carless (O’Flynn, Nuttall etc. etc.).

Ukip has been Nigel Farage’s private fiefdom ruled in an absolute and underhand manner for many years, more of a cult than a party, and for the party to grow and stand any chance of breaking through its own glass ceiling of populism; for some time the squabbling and fractures can be swept under the carpet, but will eventually lead to blood on the carpet from a knock down drag ’em out fight for control that will destroy the idea of being a political party of any consequence.

The waring factions have been hard at it since the days of Sked and clearly to date the Faragista cult has held the upper hand by ruthless centralisation and control that has seen 100s of good people leave CLICK HERE, which has greatly weakened the party concept to ensure Farage’s continued ascendancy, for more details read my blog and CLICK HERE.

The manner of the Carless/Reckwell departure will benight Ukip oncemore, but will it be before or after the election and will the investigation into Annabelle Fuller’s theft, under National Security, and her apparent lies about Andrew Bridgen expose the truth and involve Nigel Farage is a telling part of the equation!

So far it would seem Farage has the upper hand, having forced Stuart Wheeler to break cover over his backing of Neil Hamilton and his support for Carswell as a new leader – seeking to befoul the party in the first instance and clear out the cult in the second!

The squabbling will continue and would seem to have cost Ukip the funding of both Stuart Wheeler and, to quote Farage’s nick name for him, The Yorkshire Dwarf!

This has led to the need to accept funding from various dubious sources as well documented, not least that of Richard Desmond who would seem to have converted his Express newspaper to being the in house comic for Ukip, where it was shown to be no more than a squalid rag by Patrick O’Flynn’s prostitution of the paper to satiate his ambitions as an MEP leading another of Ukip’s waring factions!

Hey ho – may you live in interesting times, but sadly this greatly destabilises British politics and makes the possibility of Leaving_The_EU in any foreseable time frame less likely due in the main to Ukip’s pursuit of personal glory for one cult or the other!

Hi,

minded of just how low are Ukip’s standards for candidates, as made more than abundantly clear by just how low grade are their elected MEPs and most of their Councillors surely it is long overdue that their unprofessional behaviour was formally investigated – especially as not just do they survive on private donations but in even greater measure they receive massive amounts from the public purse funded by tax payers and profligately distributed by the EU.

Consider the all too apparent fact that jobs are handed out under the control of Nigel Farage who stands alleged to have squandered public money on both his wife and other sexual partners.

Now we hear that another of Ukip’s executive would seem to have been doctoring CVs and granting positions in return for sexual favours – just howmany of Ukip’s elected MEPs and Councillors are only there because they were willing to have sex with selectors + of course staff!

Now we note that Ukip’s staffer charged by Ukip to vet candidates failed to pick up the simplest of lies on behalf of Natasha Bolter!

Perhaps a good look at the work experience and details of the employment record of Kerry Smith might clarify his grounding in racism and offensive comments that could well have seen him removed from a front line position with the BNP!

Minded of Mr. Smith’s comments made in a conversation with Joanna Cunningham.which was recorded (Joanna Cunningham.currently works as an activist for Ukip in Thurrock with/for Tim Aker!) and as for Smith’s utterly implausible claim of having made the series of offensive remarks due to taking painkillers!Firstly just what painkillers have a personality changing effect and as there are none that are available without prescription I do not believe his excuse – particularly having been the recipient of some of the strongest such drugs available in the past myself.

Secondly just how gullible are the utter incompetents in Ukip who seek to defend Mr. Smith’s vile behaviour.

Thirdly I do not believe it is reasonable to believe that Mr. Smith has EVER held a responsible job in the light of his vile beliefs, in fact just what employer would find his views acceptable, surely the electorate should be able to cast an informed vote and the idiotic view that a simple apology is adequate to mitigate his odious comments is beneath contempt – on a par with much else that Ukip does!

The Ukip official charged with vetting the party’s election candidates has revealed he spends half his time ‘weeding out the lunatics’.

David Soutter told Ukip activists he was not able to spend enough time finding good new candidates – because he was too busy getting rid of people ‘who shouldn’t be there’.

The remarks come after one Ukip candidate was recorded making homophobic, racist and obscene comments – while another was exposed as a fantasist after becoming embroiled in a public sex scandal.

Ukip MEP Patrick O’Flynn played down the revelations – claiming they were ‘hand grenades rolling down the corridor’

In recorded comments passed to the Sunday Times, Mr Souter said the party needed to become more disciplined,

He said: ‘One of the things that Ukip has lacked as a party — and looking at it the way I’ve been able to from the outside — discipline is one of the things that’s really been missing.

Mr Souter’s role vetting party candidates was thrown into the spotlight last week over his failure to spot a series of glaring errors on the CV of leading Ukip candidate Natasha Bolter.

Ms Bolter was introduced to the Ukip party conference as a Labour defector, who taught at a local comprehensive school and had a degree from Oxford University.

But after she accused the party’s general secretary Roger Bird of sexual harassment it emerged that she never attended Oxford – and may not have been a teacher.

Doubts were first raised about her account after a series of affectionate text messages she sent to Mr Bird were published.

In a shock announcement on Monday evening, Ukip announced Mr Bird had been suspended while it investigated allegations of ‘impropriety’.

On Tuesday Mrs Bolter gave an interview claiming to have been the victim of sexual harassment.

But Mr Bird has said the pair were in a relationship. Mrs Bolter told the BBC’s Newsnight: ‘I didn’t sleep with Roger Bird, end of.’ But he insisted: ‘For the record, yes she did.’

The scandal came after a series of tape-recorded phone calls were leaked to The Mail on Sunday, showing party candidate Kerry Smith, chosen to fight Ukip target seat of Basildon South in Essex making a series of offensive remarks.

In the tape he mocks ‘f***ing disgusting old pooftahs’ who belong to a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning group, calling them ‘BLTs’ – bacon, lettuce and tomato.

He also jokes about ‘shooting peasants’ and refers to a woman with a Chinese name as a ‘Chinky.’

But Mr Farage last night refused to sack Mr Smith. A well-placed Ukip official said: ‘Kerry wants to make a full apology and is hoping it all blows over.’

Ukip MEP Patrick O’Flynn today defended Mr Smith – claiming he had been drugs at the time.

He said: “This was a phone call sometime ago while he was on sedatives by his own account, not really speaking, thinking rationally. He was on prescription sedatives after suffering an injury.’

But he said: ‘Using derogatory terminology, this slang, is not right at this level of politics and you shouldn’t do it.’

‘Clearly what he said there is unacceptable. He’s apologised unreservedly, there are big mitigating circumstances, it’s from some time ago, and we’re willing now to judge him on his performance going forward from this.’

The Ukip leader has found himself embroiled in another row over race

Nigel Farage was in another race row last night after asking supporters to rate ‘blacks, Muslims and Eastern Europeans’ in a game – with prizes of cash and a Ukip golf umbrella.

The ‘rate an immigrant’ survey is part of a Ukip private survey of members aimed at helping the party draw up its policies.

Sent last week by Ukip chairman Steve Crowther, it asks members to say ‘how close they feel’ to a number of groups.

They include ‘Blacks, Asians, Muslims, English, Eastern Europeans and Whites’ as well as the four main political parties.

Ukip activists are urged to rate each on a scale from 0 for ‘not close at all’ to 10 for ‘very close.’

But the survey was slammed as a racist stunt after details were leaked to The Mail on Sunday.

Last night, senior Labour MP Margaret Hodge condemned the Ukip survey as ‘shocking’.

Mrs Hodge, who won a campaign against the BNP in her Barking constituency in east London, said: ‘This openly brings race into politics. It’s shameful, it’s shocking and it’s offensive.

‘It lifts the lid on the unacceptable face of Ukip.’ The survey comes after a series of claims of racism involving Ukip, although Farage has insisted ‘stupid or offensive’ comments by a handful of candidates ‘never have and never will’ represent the views of his party.

The email to thousands of Ukip members from chairman Crowther is headed: ‘Help the Party and Win Prizes!’

It declares: ‘Ukip is growing quickly. We want to strengthen our party by understanding our rapidly growing membership. We are asking all our members to complete a new survey.’

The aim was to ‘use the insights to strengthen the Ukip operation… Your responses will be invaluable in making sure we fulfil our promises over the coming years – and in government!

‘So please, do complete the survey. It should be fun! You might even win some prizes!’

Prizes included ‘one prize of £100, two of £50, three prizes of a Ukip golf umbrella, four prizes of £25, five Ukip notebooks and six Ukip pocket diaries.’

Other Ukip race rows include:

National executive member Gerard Batten’s call for Muslims to sign a ‘charter of understanding’ in which they rejected violence and parts of the Koran that promote ‘violent physical Jihad.’

Parliamentary candidate in Grimsby Victoria Ayling was recorded saying ‘let’s keep the blacks out’. Council candidate Andre Lampitt said Africans should ‘kill themselves’.

Council candidate William Henwood said Lenny Henry should ‘emigrate to a black country’.

Exeter activist David Challice denounced the ‘lunacy of multiculturalism’ and called Greeks ‘vile’.

Town hall candidate David Wycherley said Mo Farah was African, not British.

A Ukip spokesman denied the survey was racist, claiming every major employer carried out similar research of their staff.

Later on Sunday evening Kerry Smith realised his position was utterly untenable and quit before he came under closer scrutiny and to avoid the inevitable embarrassment of being fired by Ukip.

Surely now it is apposite for the various corrupt members who sought to justify Smith’s vile behaviour must be forced to consider their own positions and just how corrupt was their support for him – minded that in fact with such a lack of judgement they were bound to be considered unfit for office!

Ukip’s Kerry Smith has resigned as the party’s candidate in a top target seat after it emerged he had made homophobic and racist remarks and joked about shooting poor people.

In recordings of phone calls obtained by the Mail on Sunday, the would-be MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock was said to have mocked gay party members as “disgusting poofters”, joked about shooting people from Chigwell in a “peasant hunt” and referred to someone with a Chinese name as a “Chinky bird”.

Mr Smith was deselected as the Ukip candidate for the seat, considered to be winnable by the party, in October and replaced by Natasha Bolter, but then she quit claiming she had been sexually harassed by Ukip’s general secretary, Roger Bird, who has denied the claims.

Former Tory minister Neil Hamilton was then seen as the likely candidate but he withdrew on the night of the hustings after a letter from Ukip’s finance committee asking him to explain his expenses claims was leaked to Channel 4 News.

Mr Hamilton claimed he had been the victim of a “dirty tricks” campaign, but backed Mr Smith who was selected last week.

However, amid reports that internecine warfare had broken out between supporters of Mr Hamilton and Ukip leader Nigel Farage, the Mail on Sunday newspaper obtained a recording of Mr Smith making a string of offensive remarks.

He initially apologised and explained that he had been under great stress at the time of the comments and taking strong pain killers.

But in a statement on Sunday night, Mr Smith said: “I have this evening offered my resignation as Ukip PPC for South Basildon and East Thurrock.

“I want the best for South Basildon and East Thurrock and I want to see the real issues discussed that touch the lives of people.

“Therefore I have chosen to resign so that Ukip can win this seat next May.”

In the recording, Mr Smith described the fact that Ukip’s LGBTQ group was allowed to use the party’s logo with a rainbow flag as “f***ing disgusting”.
