Hi,
let us not forget that in selecting The Man Of The Year some years ago Adolf Hitler was selected due to his influence and the changes he was bringing about in the balance of power in Germany – There is little surprise that Nigel Farage was selected by The Times when they used the same criteria, though I believe that Alex Salmond outstripped Farage during 2014 though Farage’s damage to the likelihood of Britain Leaving The EU may well prove more damaging in the long run, all be it more insidious at this stage.

Far-right problems: New links revealed
A rising star of Ukip poses for a snap with a Polish far-right leader – who defended Hitler and said women are too stupid to vote.
Przemek Skwirczynski, who is bidding to become an MP in the general election, was photographed smiling alongside Janusz Korwin-Mikke earlier this year.
Korwin-Mikke is head of Poland’s Congress of the New Right party – and was crucial in helping Nigel Farage’s party gain a £1million funding jackpot from the European Parliament.
The Pole agreed to one of his MEPs, Robert Iwaszkiewicz, joining Ukip’s parliamentary alliance – Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy.
His move pushed Mr Farage’s group over the threshold to achieve official status and a cash boost.
To qualify, an alliance must have 25 MEPs from seven countries. Mr Farage had 47 MEPs but needed Iwaskiewicz to give him a seventh nationality.
The group consists of supposedly like-minded Eurosceptics.
But Mr Farage is so keen to shore up his position in Brussels and pocket millions in funding for UKIP that he has jumped into bed with extreme right parties.
Meeting: Przemek SkwirczyÀski and Janusz Korwin-Mikke
He has publicly insisted he never met Korwin-Mikke and has described him as “utterly reprehensible”.
And last month the Pole bragged his new deal with Ukip would allow him to “blackmail” the Brit.
He said: “We are Eurosceptics and felt obliged to help… also now we can always blackmail him, he will have to help us.”
Previously Korwin-Mikke, 72, insisted Nazi leader Adolf Hitler probably knew nothing of the Holocaust and claimed women were “dumber than men” and should not be allowed to vote.
Yet Mr Skwirczynski – prospective parliamentary candidate for Tooting, South London – was happy to pose with the Polish bigot, who has also spouted vile opinions about disabled people.
Labour MP John Healey said: “It is very worrying a Ukip politician is associating with a group pushing such vile views – and not for the first time. Ukip deliberately courts these far-right parties to secure more cash for its coffers.
“Ukip must explain why it has chosen a candidate who keeps this unsavoury company.”
Mr Skwirczynski, a Canary Wharf banker, arrived from Poland in 1999. He is a member of his party’s Friends of Poland group.
While he was willing to pose with Korwin-Mikke, the extremist’s views are so repugnant even French National Front leader Marine Le Pen shunned an alliance with his party.
The deal between Ukip and the Polish Congress of the New Right was sealed last month.
A month earlier, the snap of Westminster hopeful Mr Skwirczynski with Korwin-Mikke appeared in Polish newspaper Dziennik Polski.
Mr Farage, who enjoys fine food and wine in restaurants like Il Pasticcio near the European Parliament, has been making equally dubious allies.
They include two MEPs from the Swedish Democrats, which was launched in 1988 as a white supremacist party.
Another is independent Joelle Bergeron, 65, an ex-stalwart of the French National Front who is now said to be flirting with the ultra-right Parti de la France.
Mr Farage’s bizarre alliance also includes former Lithuanian president Rolandas Paksas – the first modern European leader to be removed from power by impeachment amid concerns over his ties to organised crime.
When he formed the group in June, Mr Farage said he was proud of the way they came together despite strong opposition.
He said: “Expect us to fight the good fight to take back control of our countries.”
And the UKIP leader insisted the alliance was a force for good and boasted: “I am very proud to have formed this group with other MEPs and we undertake to be the people’s voice.”
Mr Skwirczynski insisted he simply had a picture taken with Korwin-Mikke, but would not comment further.
Nigel Farage: Fresh problems
A source close to the candidate said: “Someone took a photograph of the two of them together while they were at a meeting of politicians of Polish origin.
“David Cameron has his picture taken with Vladimir Putin but it does not mean Britain collaborates with the Russians.”
The source added: “Przemek insists he had no idea of this man’s views until he read them in British newspapers.
“He says that anyone with more than two brain cells would disagree with the views attributed to Korwin-Mikke.”
Ukip faced further embarrassment as Martyn Heale, chairman of the party in Thanet South, spoke of his “regret” at having been a member of the National Front in the 1970s.
Mr Farage is standing for election as an MP in the Kent constituency.
Since 2008 the party’s constitution has banned new members who were part of extreme right-wing groups such as the BNP, the English Defence League and National Front.

He has spouted controversial views on Adolf Hitler and disabled people as well as calling for women to lose the vote.

Ex-leader: Rolandas Paksas
Ex-leader Rolandas Paksas was impeached 10 years ago over alleged links to criminals.
He was found to have illegally arranged citizenship for Uri Borisov, a major donor to his party.

Joëlle Bergeron was part of the French National Front since its formation in 1972 by a group of racists and anti-semites.
She left the far-right party, stating it had “lost its values”.
Sweden
Sweden Democrats – whose supporters are celebrating election success – had an ex-member of the SS among its founders.
Members wore Nazi uniform. It now aims for a more moderate image.

Hi,
when a point has been well made it is never a good idea to make it all over again and risk diluting its validity and it is for that reason that I quote the words of Team Junius on their blog:
Forget all this nonsense about UKIP surging in popularity. We’ve heared it all before. Year after year we are told by Farage and his useful idiots that UKIP is about to make it into the major league. And every year ends in failure and defeat. We were told that UKIP would win seats in Westminster. They didn’t. We were told that they were going to win seats in the Welsh Assembly and Scottish Parliament elections. They didn’t. We were told that Farage would win in Buckingham. He didn’t. We were told UKIP would see members elected as police chiefs. They weren’t. We were told that UKIP would win the Corby by-election. They didn’t. And the same goes for Rotherham.
Here are some words of wisdom from The Telegraph regarding this false dawn BUT and it is a very big ‘BUT’ the article which is a blog published on the Telegraph web site and NOT an article for a professional journalist on the Telegraph pay roll.
The Telegraph hosts a number of blogs as an internet host and does not neccessarily endorse the views or veracity of these blogs.
That said, in principle I do endorse the comments and have republished them as a fair and reasonable account of the inevitable long term failure of UKIP following on the abject failure in domestic politics to date:
Ukip aren’t surfing a wave:
they’re standing in a rockpool,
watching the tide go out Ukip aren’t surfing a wave.
Sorry, but it isn’t going to happen. In 1983 the SDP were going to break the mould of British politics; they didn’t. In 1989 the Greens were going to transform the British political landscape; they couldn’t. And in 2015 the great Ukip breakthrough will disintegrate upon the unyielding wall of electoral reality.
It’s a false dawn. However noble their cause, or steely their resolve, Nigel Farage and his irregulars are marching towards defeat.
Ukip are not a political force, but a political curiosity. In years to come many a pub quiz trophy will be won by those who can correctly answer the question: “What was the name of the guy who ran the anti-EU party? Begins with an N.”
In life there are rules. What goes up will come down. The Earth rotates around the Sun, not vice versa. And come election time, minor British political parties get squeezed out of existence.
It may not be fair. It may not be healthy. But them’s the facts. And unfortunately, they are immutable.
Of course, come June 2014, when next year’s European votes are counted, there’s going to be a whole lot of muting going on. Ukip will be in the process of recording their greatest ever election triumph. The Tories will have been beaten into a humiliating third place. Eurosceptic MPs will be fanning out across the airways demanding action and the summary execution of Ken Clarke.
And then nothing will happen. A year later Ukip will run, they will fight and they will lose. There will be no Ukip MPs. Their impact on sitting Tory MPs will have been negligible. They will have 3 or at a stretch 4 per cent of the vote to show for their efforts.
How can my cold, Leftist eyes penetrate the political crystal ball so clearly? Well, for one thing, I’m not a Ukip supporter, so I’m unencumbered by the hope and expectation attending several of those currently predicting a national outbreak of Farage Mania.
The truth, if you care to look for it, is out there. Firstly, there is the electoral system. Ukip cannot make a breakthrough in 2015 because the system they will be fighting under has been specifically designed to prevent them from making that breakthrough. It was not built to further the political ambitions of free spirits such as Citizen Farage. It was created to crush them underfoot; and so it will.
Then there is the second big problem facing Nigel Farage’s party: he hasn’t got one. In relative terms, Ukip have no money, no infrastructure and no activists. They have no organisational expertise, no strategy expertise and no policy expertise. Yes, they punch above their weight in the media, but that’s because much of the media is instinctively sympathetic to their agenda, not because of any presentational acumen. Not so long ago Ukip’s idea of a communications strategy was to wind up Robert Kilroy-Silk and let him go.
Then there is a third obstacle. Ukip are a single-issue organisation, campaigning on an issue most voters couldn’t care less about. According to Mori’s latest issue tracker, only 5 per cent of voters regard Europe as one of the most important issues facing the country. At the time of the 1997 election that figure stood at 43 per cent. Ukip aren’t surfing a wave, they’re paddling in a rock pool watching the tide go out.
People can spend the next couple of years preparing with mounting excitement for Ukip’s moment. But come the next election, the fix will be in. That tiny percentage of voters who rate Europe as the defining issue will have a clear choice. The EurowaryEurophile – if not fully obsessive – Prime Minister Miliband. Nigel Farage – no debate, no money, no activists, no infrastructure, no hope of a seat, never mind power – won’t get a look-in.
That’s the problem with being a lone warrior. It’s lonely.
What is the Exit and Survival Plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits when we Leave-The-EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples – they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our borders.
They also have a duty to put in place contingency plans for the collapse of The EUro & The EU or the wishes of the peoples of Britain to Leave-The-EU.
NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for over 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.
Politicians are failing to tell the truth, but so are almost all wanabe Politicians, the Main Stream Media and Snivil Cervants.
The fact is that even if EVERY British MEP wanted change in The EU it would achieve NOTHING, at very best if they ALL agreed they would then still have less than a 10% say in the governance of Britain by The EU.
Every single British Politician, of EVERY Party, elected since before we joined the EUropean Common Market, has promised to change The EU’s CAP – In 40 Years they have achieved absolutely NOTHING towards that unanimous promise!
To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we thus leave our children and the future, with shame!

PLEASE POST THIS TAG AS FOLLOWS: ON YOUR eMAILS & BLOGS, FORUM POSTINGS & MAILINGS – GET THE MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE IT IS OUR BEST HOPE AS WHOEVER IS APPOINTED WILL MAKE NO DIFFERENCE AS PROVED!
I SUGGEST – since there is clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning to Leave-The-EU for these United Kingdoms and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country & minded that membership of The EU is sucking out the life blood and identity of our Country in a counter patriotic manner and at a cost in hard cash of some £53 Million a day we must consider:
Denying the self seeking & meaningless wanabe MEPs and the no longer relevant MPs the Mythical Mandate for which they clamour.
Diktat is imposed from The EU but Law should be made at Westminster, for our Country & our Peoples, by the peoples of our Country.
It is time that the entire mechanism of governance in these United Kingdoms, which has so clearly failed our Country and our peoples, was radically overhauled and updated to democratic status – failure to change will mean when we Leave-The-EU and/or it finally collapses, as it surely will, we will be no better off as the self same self styled, self enriching clique will be all too willing to betray us as they have done relative to The EU and its fore runners.
To achieve change support rational planning as with The Harrogate Agenda and similar thinking of gravitas.
Demand a Royal Commission on the cost benefits of leaving The EU and of remaining its vassals with a clear ‘Exit & Survival Strategy‘ for implementation OR responsible contingency planning dependent on THEN holding a Referendum on IN or OUT to Let-The-People-Decide!
Nigel Farage, UKIP & Chris Huhne’s seat + Corby!
Will Farage rise to the challenge believing his own foolish publicity about UKIP’s greatly improved poll results and other propaganda!!

Specualation is growing that Nigel Farage, leader of the euroskeptic UK Independence Party, is considering contesting a seat in the UK parliament, but it’s not straightforward.
There could be a by-election in Eastleigh, a constituency that falls in Farage’s seat, but the member of parliament is former MEP, Chris Huhne, a Liberal Democrat. Huhne is facing prosecution over an allegation that the MP asked his wife to take the blame for a speeding ticket. The case is expected to be before the court in October or November.
Should Huhne lose, it is widely expected that he will resign his parliamentary seat, forcing a by-election.
The seat has been closely fought between the Liberals and the Conservatives. Coalition government has not been kind to the Liberals, their support has dropped in the opinion polls and a large share of their activists have left the party, leaving the local Conservatives with an opportunity to capture a seat from their coalition parners.
However, UKIP may feel that they can capture a large part of the vote on a campaign based around an in/out referendum on the EU.
Farage contested the seat in 1994, where he lost to the Liberal candidate by over 23,000 votes. He did manage to beat the Monster Raving Loony Party’s legendary leader, ‘Screaming Lord Sutch’ by 169 votes.
Farage will certainly beat his ’94 vote and he has been actively courting the Tory right in a capmaign to force UK PM David Cameron to hold an EU membership referendum, even a close result in a by-election would seriously concern senior Tories and may manouvere them into making such a referendum a manifesto commitment for the nect general election. Farage would not need to win to ‘win’.
It would not be an easy contest, for UKIP has never come close to winning a UK seat. speaking to local press, Farage said, ““I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen with Chris Huhne’s case but if Chris is found not to have told the truth then it is clear that his position as MP for this town will be untenable. So we face the prospect perhaps of an Eastleigh by-election – it could happen in October or November this year, perhaps spring next year but be assured if and when there is an election we will give it everything we have got.”
I note there is likely to be a by election in Corby & Northants before that in Eastleiggh and UKIP has a right gaggle of rogues to field – be that the drunk who is Regional Organiser Don Ransom or the liar Derek Clark who glibbly lied about me when I exposed his criminality and then lied to his regional committee to hide the fact that OLAF had found him guilty of fraudulently using over £30K from claims on the public purse a crime for which Tom Wise was sentenced to 2 years in prison!
Alternatively they have an ex military chappy who was qualified as a barrister but no longer practices as he runs a B&B on his son in law’s estate trading off the son in law’s Baronetcy – I gather he doesn’t practice law having fallen foul of it himself!
Facing a challenge that he should resign if UKIP’s candidate is not within 5,000 of the winner Farage has all to gain though is unlikely to accept the challenge as he will wish to blame others for the abject failure of UKIP in British deomestic elections.
However it could prove a useful trial run for Eastleigh as heaven only knows UKIP desperately needs some serious campaigning rather than stunts, smears and sneering at which they are so good and now that they are hugely better funded by both gambling and gamblers the expenses will be a dodle particularly as so few of UKIP’s MEPs have ever made any meaningful donations to the party beyond self interest paymentys to get themselves elected!
Let us see. But let us not forget Farage climbed on the Huhne band wagon early on with claims he KNEW that Huhne had committed the crime as they were on the same plane returning from their weekly jolly in The EU at public expense – as I recall this was a claim he was unable to substantiate later when called on to do so – was he softening up Eastleigh with one of his publicity grabbing stunts?
Regards, Greg_L-W.
So let us see if Farage responds to Alan Hardy’s challenge rather more rapidly than David Cameron responded to Farage’s challenge.
