Piers Rolf Garfield Merchant
(born: 2 January 1951) & (died: 21 September 2009)
aged 58

Piers Merchant was a politician in the United Kingdom.
He was Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Beckenham, but resigned in October 1997.

Before he became an MP he was a journalist and marketing officer.

Merchant was educated at Nottingham High School and the University of Durham where he was Senior Man of University College’s JCR. He was first elected to the House of Commons at the 1983 general election, for the Newcastle Central constituency, he lost the seat at the June 1987 general election. He stood for Beckenham at the 1992 general election and won.

MPs cannot technically resign; instead he took the offices of Steward of the Manor of Northstead, which automatically led to his disqualification.

In the 2004 European Parliament election, Merchant stood for the UK Independence Party in the North East England constituency, at the top of their party list. He was not elected.

Piers Merchant worked for some years, in various capacities, for UKIP, having been at one time political advisor to Roger Knapman the UKIP leader during their sucessful 2004 election and also for a short time acted as UKIP General Secretary until a suitable individual could be found full time.

In 2005, Merchant relocated to Great Torrington in North Devon. Merchant is also a member of Mensa.

It is with regret that I inform you that in early July 2009 Piers was diagnosed as having advanced prostate cancer leading to multi site metastatic cancer, the prognosis being bleak. His wife Helen supported by their two children is with him at this time. (07-Jul-09)

It is with regret that I inform you that on 21-Sep-2009 Piers Merchant died after a short terminal illness. The cause of death was multi site metastatic prostate cancer.

Piers Merchant leaves his wife Helen and their daughter and a teenage son. Piers had faced his illness with courage, supported by his family, and leaves many friends and colleagues, Piers’ brother will find it particularly hard as their Mother had died only a matter of a few months ago after a brief terminal illness, though at a much more acceptable age.

The EUroRealist movement has lost an indefatiguable campaigner and a well informed advocate, whose contribution in UKIP has been immense. He will be remembered with affection by his many colleagues in UKIP and before that from his days as a Conservative MP and before.

It is sad that his colleagues in UKIP did so little to defend his name when he was lied about and defamed by Mark Croucher, Douglas Denny and others who claimed he had betrayed the party by being ‘Junius’ when clearly he was not nor ever wrote as part of that team as proven when he died. There were even lies put forward that he had tampered with UKIP web site to send copies of eMails to him for publication on Junius.

This was clearly all too typical of the dishonesty of UKIP’s leadership team and its odious claque of self serving low lifes.

Not ONE of UKIP’s leaders or followers spoke out in his defence, either before or after his demise!

My personal condolences to their children Alethea and Rolf and to his widow Helen Merchant (nee Burrlock) whom he married in 1977. Helen loyally stood by Piers throughout the visicitudes of a colourfull and productive life, whilst maintaining a high powered career in her own right.

Much of Piers’ life was spent in service to British liberty and democracy, though he will be remembered by many for his colourfull private life – a life too soon lost!

Piers Merchant

Piers Merchant, who has died aged 58, was a Conservative MP catapulted out of relative obscurity by being photographed locked in a passionate embrace with a blonde “hostess” at the height of the 1997 general election campaign.

The campaign had up until that point been dominated by a succession of stories about Tory financial and sexual “sleaze”. But the photograph, taken in broad daylight in a park in the married MP’s Beckenham constituency, represented a nadir in the party’s fortunes.

The Sun, which had switched allegiance from the Conservatives to Labour just days earlier, published the photograph on its front page and accused Merchant of indulging in “an open-air sex romp”.

It identified the object of his affections as being one Anna Cox, a 17-year-old who had worked at the Casa Rosa nightclub in Soho in the euphemistically-named “hostess” business. The newspaper accused Merchant of having an affair with Cox and wrote a trenchant leader column demanding that he be “publicly horsewhipped”.

“I’m not old enough to vote – but I’m old enough to know when I’ve been used,” the paper quoted her as saying.

The story dominated the election for five days. The errant MP was dubbed “sleaze Merchant” and castigated for epitomising everything that was wrong with the rapacious Conservative Party under John Major.

His parliamentary colleagues, among whom he was almost universally well-respected, privately wondered how he could have been so stupid. The Tory high command publicly called on him to “consider his position”.

The hapless Merchant protested his innocence and told anyone who would listen that he had been set up. He insisted that the tryst had lasted for less than two minutes and that he had met Cox on no more than a handful of previous occasions. One of his few public supporters was his wife Helen, who conceded that her husband had been a “bloody fool” but said that she still loved him regardless.

Despite the uproar, Merchant held Beckenham with a respectable majority at an election in which the Tory party suffered its worst defeat since 1832. The matter might have ended there. But Merchant, determined to get to the bottom of the episode, decided that the only way to find out the truth was to befriend Cox.

He successfully achieved this by employing her as a researcher to work on a book he was writing about parliamentary sex scandals. Cox revealed, he said, that she had been recruited straight out of Soho to act as a “honey trap” by The Sun. The paper was apparently anxious to stitch up some Tory MPs as an act of fealty to its new political overlords in the Labour Party.

As chance would have it, The Sun‘s deputy news editor, Neil Wallis, was an old rival of Merchant’s from their days spent working on local newspapers in the North East. Cox had been speculatively sent along to a Tory meeting to get close to Merchant, just in case his eye for an attractive young girl got the better of his judgment.

It did. After asking if she could accompany him around the constituency as he delivered his election material, Cox then suggested they take a detour through a local park. The couple sat on a bench where, Merchant claimed, Cox made a pass at him. Unbeknown to the MP, a photographer from The Sun was concealed in a nearby ditch.

The majority of Merchant’s friends regarded his story as being so wildly improbable as to be almost certainly true. Years later, Merchant told friends, it was confirmed by Stuart Higgins, who had been editor of The Sun at the time of the exposé.

But the tale had another twist. By the time Merchant had extracted the information from Cox, the pair had embarked on an affair. Merchant took Cox to the Tory conference in Blackpool that year, and afterwards for a two-night break in York at a discreet flat owned by his former researcher, Anthony Gilberthorpe. In fact, Merchant was about to fall victim to another tabloid sting. Gilberthorpe had been paid £25,000 by the Sunday Mirror, whose journalists had wired the flat with concealed video recorders to capture the couple’s cavortings.

After the Mirror published, the ever-loyal Helen Merchant made a toe-curling appearance on the doorstep of the family home with Merchant and Cox. The wronged wife insisted that Anna was a family friend with whom she was happy for her husband to spend his nights.

Merchant quit as an MP 48 hours later by applying to become steward of the Manor of Northstead. Though he was no longer in public life, the Sunday Mirror ran photographs from his bedroom “romp” with Cox on its front page for two further weeks. Years later, Merchant wryly remarked that not even the death of the Queen Mother had merited three consecutive front pages in the paper.

Piers Rolf Garfield Merchant was born on January 2 1951, the son of a schoolmaster. After leaving Durham University in 1973, his first job was as a reporter on the Newcastle Journal.

He contested Newcastle Central for the Tories in 1979. He stood there again in 1983 and was duly elected in the first of the Thatcher landslides. It was not natural Tory territory so it came as no surprise when he lost the seat in 1987.

He became director of public affairs at the Advertising Association. But, as a committed Thatcherite, Merchant was desperate to get back into the Commons. After being rejected by seven Tory associations, Merchant only clinched the Beckenham nomination when, in the wake of Thatcher’s political assassination by the party’s left wing, he cast notes aside and spoke from the heart.

It was during the 1992-97 parliament that his ready political skills were put to good use as PPS to Peter Lilley, the then social security secretary. After resigning his seat in 1997, Merchant went to work for the London Chamber of Commerce. When the LCC’s board announced its intention to merge with the big business organisation London First, he waged a highly effective campaign to stop it happening.

Although he was notionally part of the management team charged with driving the merger through, he utilised a series of political ploys to stretch negotiations out for two years before they finally collapsed at an acrimonious EGM.

Merchant was unfailingly good-humoured about being derided as a figure of fun by the Westminster village. He became chief executive of the United Kingdom Independence Party in 2004 and was put in charge of running its campaign in the Hartlepool by-election that year.

When the party’s star turn Robert Kilroy-Silk came to campaign in the constituency, Merchant arranged for his Jaguar to be met outside the town by a huge convoy of party and media vehicles.

The former television presenter could not have been more feted by the locals if he had been the Pope. Merchant, who had orchestrated events from beginning to end, let on to nobody that Kilroy had sent him a handwritten note the day before.

“Please do not stand within ten yards of me,” it read. “Because I’m sure you’ll understand that I do not wish to be photographed alongside you.”

Piers Merchant, who had cancer, died on September 21. He married Helen Burrluck in 1977, and is survived by her, one son and one daughter.

The corruption of EUkip’s leadership,

Hi,

so finally Nigel Farage is more than somewhat ‘Benighted’ the Teflon coating that has protected Nigel Farage is reaching its end of life and his exploitation of the mental illness of a vulnerable member of his staff Annabelle Fuller has delivered his comeuppance. Few if any of those involved with Ukip were unaware of what soiled and damaged goods the sad little figure was.

Whether it was her complaining to Piers Merchant how the stapler under her on the desk during one of her interludes with Farage had bruised her and pulling her skirt up to show him the intimately placed bruise, or describing a Regional chairman or some such as nothing more than ‘a w**k stain’ on Anthony Butcher’s scurrilous Ukip controlled public Forum.

To round it off, as I was well established at the time as an accurate and honest commentator on matters pertaining to Ukip including her vile behaviour with clear intimations regarding her various positions with Nigel Farage paid for on the Ukip pay roll – she displayed her true character on another public forum by announcing she hoped the cancer I was known to be fighting would kill me soon.

She really is a wretch specimen of humanity without scruples, ethics, integrity or morals. A skim read of her relationship with Farage, for who would want the details, shows the pair of them in their true light.

One has to feel sorry for any decent individual whose path has crossed this toxic inadequate’s path, though it is hard to drum up any sympathy for Annabelle Fuller whatever aliases she uses for her hedonistic self promotion and attention seeking.

For attention seeking that she claimed Nikki Sinclaire was in some way responsible for ruining her life and try to blame her for her own self harming as a way to get attention was more than a bit rich minded that Nikki Sinclaire had merely exposed the well known fact that Nigel Farage was in a long term relationship with his mistress at the tax payers expense whilst funding ‘payoff’ to his wife of some £30,000 a year from the same source.

Then again one notes Fuller’s on off relationship with Jasna Badzak at one time using her as both a confidante and an advisor and in the next breath seeking to blacken her name.

Likewise the foolish behaviour of The Tory MP Andrew Bridged who she claimed had sexually assaulted her when it became clear she had fled his flat having stolen his House of Commons Pass, Parliamentary correspondence and his Blackberry bearing numerous confidential phone details of very senior individuals + messages! She was aprehended by the concierge of the block of flats when she had fallen and bruised her head, noticeably drunk and allegedly without shoes – the assault claims were seemingly dreamed up in her attention seeking mind whilst waiting for the police to arrive – claims that vanished with the light of day (truth) – sadly having dishonestly befouled his reputation in a situation which contributed to his wife’s accrimonious parting of their ways and difficulties over access to his children.

Then of course there was her tissue of lies regarding the story she conspired to publish belittling John West in the media with an utterly implausible cock and bull story about having her laptop stolen having left it in a taxi – yet she filed the story whilst in Morrocco whilst on holiday! To read more of this story CLICK HERE

Then of course there was her corruption of the leadership election to get her paymaster back into power to ensure her income stream, when on tax payers money she was being paid to se4rrvice Farage’s non domestic needs she travelled to various hustings with Farage and ‘worked’ the ladies toilets to badmouth and defame the other candidates claiming for instance that Richard Suchorzevski was a BNP supporter, a bankrupt and homoosexual – a more than somewhat fancifull pack of lies when you consider he was self financed, took a year off work to strengthen Ukip in Wales including firing that useless article Jim Carver and touring Britain to campaign in the leadership election with John Bufton as his campaign manager, meanwhile he was in a relationship with a nursing sister at a leading London hospital and she was West Indian – BNP, homosexual and bankrupt! I think not, but it was the sort of lies that Fuller was prone to peddling – just as were Mark Croucher, David Bannerman, Mick McGough, Denny, and so many of the liars and low lifes at the top of Ukip!

I do believe that for justice to be seen to be done we shall have to relly on Suchorzewski, Sinclaire, West, Bridgen or the like to take legal action against Annabelle Fuller and Farage not only for their defamation but perhaps the EU will see fit to take back the tax payers’ money that Nigel Farage perloined to pay his wife and various mistresses – surely the tax payer can not be expected to pay for the MEPs’ to have sex on the public purse nor provide offices in which to excercise their sexual pecadilloes.

Little wonder the public at large voted for BreXit in disgust at the profligacy & louche behaviour of the EU & its staff be they Commissioners, MEPs, Unelected bloated bureacrats or the parasites who act as riders on the Gravy Train providing sexual favours!

But now clearly the worm has turned, whether merely for money or in spite at being passed over by Farage’s current mistress Ms. Farrari enjoying the perks of her efforts over the last few years now Farage has parted company with his wife and has the £5M property in Chelsea and travel in and out of NSA, CIA, FBI juristiction until they feel there is no more information they can glean by following him in the company of bigger and more valuable fish, then he will no longer be of use as bait but will be thrown to the wolves in his own right!

Farage may well find that ‘Thorn In The Side’ is not as Limited as he may think, when it comes to protection!

Farage’s mistress breaks her silence: Political aide reveals sexual encounters in MEP offices in the European Parliament only last year and how he told her to keep quiet or risk derailing Brexit

  • Annabelle Fuller says she and Farage had a sexual relationship dating from 2004
  • She was a speechwriter and trusted aide who worked for Farage in Brussels
  • Fuller claims she had sexual encounters European Parliament offices last year
  • She says the affair drove her into depression, self-harm and suicide attempts

Nigel Farage has systematically lied about an affair with a vulnerable former aide spanning more than a decade, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The former Ukip leader is accused of breathtaking hypocrisy by his former lover, who claims she was told to keep the relationship secret at all costs – to help save Brexit.

In an explosive interview, Annabelle Fuller, once a speechwriter and trusted adviser to the party and its leader, says she and Farage, a married man more than 17 years her senior, had a sexual relationship dating from 2004 until October last year.

Farage, a Member of the European Parliament, has himself spoken of the ‘betrayal’ of family values in British society. In a series of devastating admissions about their time together, Ms Fuller discloses:

  • Sexual encounters in MEP offices in the European Parliament as recently as last year
  • A secret love letter in which Farage declares his devotion to her with ‘heart and body
  • That the affair helped propel her into depression, self-harm and suicide attempts
  • That Farage’s wife Kirsten – now estranged – was behind Ms Fuller’s dramatic ejection from a Ukip celebration party in 2014.

Ms Fuller’s decision to speak out is all the more remarkable as both she and Farage have repeatedly dismissed rumours of a liaison. Farage has described the claims as ‘malicious and cowardly’.

Within the party, however, knowledge of the relationship appears to have been widespread. One MEP, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: ‘It wasn’t just a fling or a one-night stand – he was thinking about leaving his wife for her. I have spoken to Nigel about the relationship in the past and know Annabelle and Nigel were still involved sexually until late last year.

‘Everyone in the party knew they were having an affair.’

It is also a relationship starkly at odds with Ukip’s consistent promotion of family values.

Today, in a perceptive and at times troubling account of their deception, Ms Fuller describes how the affair helped drive her into mental illness and life-threatening self-harm before a successful course of therapy. She believes that only by telling the truth will she be able to put her life ‘back on track’.

‘Right from the beginning, lying about the affair was a strategy we decided on,’ she says.

‘We had many conversations about it, even in the past couple of years. He told me I had to keep quiet. I said to him, ‘Do you have any idea how painful it is for me?’, and he would say ‘Yes’.

‘Nigel and I both knew we had to keep quiet to save Brexit. We are both liars and hypocrites but the reason I had to lie throughout the years was that I didn’t want Ukip or the cause we were fighting for to be damaged.

‘He said, ‘They will use anything they can to stop this, they will use anything they can to stop me. We are going up against the Establishment here. They will come after you.’ ‘

Although the relationship was consensual, Ms Fuller believes Farage should have taken more responsibility for his actions.

She describes the relationship as grossly inappropriate, particularly in recent years when, she says, she was in a state of deepening mental illness, later diagnosed as post-traumatic stress.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a close member of her family expressed anger at the way events played out, saying: ‘Nigel has acted appallingly with regard to Annabelle. In 2005, he seemed to care for her but by last year he was treating her as an afterthought. Despite her nearly committing suicide, he still wanted her to be his sexual partner as late as last year. He is a complete narcissist and I’m pleased Annabelle can finally leave him in the past.’

Annabelle Fuller began working for Farage after completing a master's degree in international relations

Annabelle Fuller began working for Farage after completing a master’s degree in international relations

There was a time when Annabelle Fuller was a highly regarded member of the Ukip team; someone who, at the height of her career, would advise Farage, brief the media and write articles for national newspapers under her boss’s name.

Today, she works behind the bar of a country pub near Bath.

It has taken a year of therapy to reach the point where she can speak openly about a relationship which began in 2004 in Brussels, where an up-and-coming Nigel Farage was a Member of the European Parliament. Then 23, Annabelle, who had just completed a master’s degree in international relations, had started working as a Ukip parliamentary researcher.

‘I was introduced to Nigel in the second week of the job and he was polite but cool,’ she recalls.

‘Looking back, I don’t recall an immediate spark of attraction on either side. To me, he was just another middle-aged man in a suit.’ After work, like hundreds of others, she would end up in one of the bars around the Parliament building, the kind where Farage held court. And she found herself drawn to the older, charismatic politician. Soon, the two were spending a lot of time together.

‘He was fun, with a wicked sense of humour,’ she says.

‘He had the best jokes and easily the most interesting political stories. I loved listening to him. I was captivated by his worldliness.’

For several months, the friendship remained platonic, with Farage something of a father figure. The vulnerable young woman – with a teenage history of bulimia, concerns about body image and self-esteem – came increasingly to rely upon him.

‘He took me into his confidence about work and party matters and would often ask for my advice. I was young but I was bright and I was eager to get stuck in.

‘I did research for him – advising him and briefing MEPs on how they were voting. I also helped with his speeches and parliamentary amendments. Our first kiss took place in Brussels in 2005. It was on my forehead. He was just saying goodnight, but it felt very comforting. It didn’t feel improper.

‘Our relationship grew very slowly over several months. After a while, he took me into his confidence – personally and politically.’

Farage had been with his wife, German-born Kirsten, since 1999, but he told Ms Fuller that it was a marriage in name only.

‘He said that it was an unhappy relationship and had been for some time. He told me the marriage was not a real one.’

Then, in April 2005, Farage asked Ms Fuller to work on his – as it would prove – unsuccessful General Election campaign in Thanet South, Kent, as a volunteer.

As their relationship grew, Farage told her it had to remain a secret but they were a 'proper couple' and  the Ukip leader moved into her flat in the Maelbeek area whenever he was in Brussels

‘I was flattered. Nigel visited every couple of days while we campaigned and sometimes stayed overnight in a hotel in Broadstairs.’

One evening, Farage invited a group to dinner at his hotel after a day of canvassing. As the evening went on, just three of them remained – Farage, Ms Fuller and one other person.

‘Nigel offered us a sofabed to sleep on because there were no taxis, but I was the only one to take up the offer,’ she recalls. ‘I knew what would happen if I stayed and I wanted it to. When we got upstairs I took one look at the room and said, ‘but there’s no sofabed,’ and we both just laughed.’

It was not, perhaps, the most romantic encounter.

‘I told him I needed something to change into and he produced a white T-shirt from his suitcase. Then I went to the bathroom, took off my make-up and used his toothbrush. When I came back into the bedroom he was in bed wearing a white T-shirt and white Y-fronts. I got in and said ‘budge-up’. It was very English.

‘It was gentle. Our clothes came off in the dark. He said, ‘you’re so beautiful’. We drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.’ The following morning, he was up early, as ever.

‘He asked how I was, and said, ‘Do you regret it?’ I said no and he said neither did he and that my a*** had looked amazing in the moonlight.’

The relationship grew, but as it did so, the terms became clear: Farage told her it had to remain a secret.

‘He said he wanted me to go into a relationship with my eyes wide open. That he really liked me but he warned me that if people found out they would make my life hell.

‘I was already committed. I knew what we had was very special. I was in love. I was happy.’

From then on, she says, they were a ‘proper couple’ and Farage moved into her flat in the Maelbeek area whenever he was in Brussels.

‘He kept clothes and some shoes there. We still went out with others as a group and I think everyone knew by then that we were an item.’

For a while, Ms Fuller happily played the part of a surrogate wife, organising his life, both domestic and professional.

‘He was rather messy and left wet towels on the floor for me to pick up every morning. He could also be very absent-minded at times.’

Much later in the relationship, for example, he complained of earache while attending the 2014 party conference in Torquay.

‘I found out it was because he had left a broken Q-tip stuck in his ear for days,’ she says.

He was never too absent-minded for one important task, however.

In a letter to  Fuller, Farage said: 'I only wish that I had been free for you. With all my heart and body. Love Nigel

‘He was religious about polishing his shoes,’ she says.

‘And he seemed to have an awful lot. He told me he usually did the job himself on a Sunday.’

For a while, she was happy to remain a mistress, but as time passed her feelings changed.

‘In those early days, he was my reason for getting up in the mornings. Whenever Nigel left to go back to England, it was horrible and I was desolate.

‘He couldn’t even call me on the phone because he said he was with his family. It was very hard for me to know that he had another life.

‘Kirsten knew he was seeing me because someone in the party told her. I used to ring the home in Kent and she would hang up on me, or I could hear her hand the phone to Nigel with an acerbic ‘it’s her’.’

Growing increasingly depressed by her position as ‘the other woman’, Ms Fuller says she started to self-harm.

‘I started to cut myself some months into the relationship because I couldn’t articulate how I felt. When I told Nigel, he was devastated and blamed himself. He begged me to stop and said that he loved me.’

In the summer of 2006, Ms Fuller moved back to Britain to work in Ukip’s London press office where, although she still struggled with the clandestine nature of the affair, the two continued as lovers.

On November 3, her 25th birthday, Farage gave her a diamond pendant as a token of their feelings for each other. When that was stolen, he paid for a sapphire and diamond replacement.

But by the autumn, Ms Fuller decided to end the relationship and told him as they went for a walk on Beachy Head in East Sussex.

‘I was quite stand-offish with him and said that it wasn’t working. I didn’t want to be the other woman any more. I loved him but I wanted a proper relationship.’

He said he understood, but that his children were his priority.

A week later, she received a letter from Farage – dated November 25, 2006 – which she still keeps.

‘No one will ever love, understand or care for you the way that I do,’ it reads. ‘I adore you and the bond of friendship that we have shared. What I dread is not being close to you… I fear that this may not go away for many years.’

Pleading with her to take care of herself, he signed off the letter with: ‘I only wish that I had been free for you. With all my heart and body. Love Nigel x’.

She says: ‘I was angry. He was telling me he loved me and I wanted it to be a clean break.

‘I wanted a shot at a normal life. It was the first time he had declared his feelings so openly. But it was too little too late. I had to end it for me and for him but I know it hurt him very badly. We kept in touch because I could not imagine him not being in my life.’

She embarked on a new relationship, but this foundered. And by December 2007, she was back in a sexual relationship with Farage – which continued even when she quit the party in the autumn of 2008 to work with military charities in the UK.

‘I’d hoped to make a fresh start but even then I found I couldn’t cut the ties to him. He was the only person I could rely on.’

Besides, she found that she missed the excitement of politics and, in 2010, she asked Farage if she could go back and work for him, helping his successful campaign to become leader of the party, before working as his press aide.

At Christmas, he bought her a striking blood-red Vivienne Westwood coat from Harrods.

On her 25th birthday, Farage gave her a diamond pendant as a token of their feelings for each other. When that was stolen, he paid for a sapphire and diamond replacement.

On her 25th birthday, Farage gave her a diamond pendant as a token of their feelings for each other. When that was stolen, he paid for a sapphire and diamond replacement.

By now, however, there was a further complication. Farage had met a French woman called Laure Ferrari, 16 years his junior. (For years, Farage denied they were together, although in recent weeks his aides have confirmed the relationship, as first reported in The Mail on Sunday.)

Ms Fuller says she and Farage kept their relationship strictly professional between 2010 and 2012, however the sex resumed from 2013 onwards – only this time she felt there was a more sordid aspect to the liaisons.

‘He used to ask for hand massages and say he had all the stress in his hands. I used to give him them and we would talk and sometimes he would say, ‘how about here’, pointing down at his trousers.’

Then, in March 2014, came a bombshell intervention on the floor of the European Parliament when then Ukip MEP Nikki Sinclaire used parliamentary privilege to allege that Ms Fuller was ‘Farage’s mistress’, a claim he refused to answer immediately.

He later branded her action ‘cowardly and malicious’.

‘I have spoken to every national newspaper on this issue and the answer remains the same as it was in 2006,’ he said. ‘The answer is no.’

In May 2014, Ukip caused a minor earthquake by winning 24 seats in the European elections, beating both Labour and the Conservatives, a result which left Farage and his colleagues euphoric.

For Ms Fuller, however, it would prove a turning point.

Although she had worked on the election campaign, she was ordered to leave a celebration party near St James’s Park in Central London.

‘I was told by one of Nigel’s security staff that I had to leave on the orders of Kirsten Farage and that she would have me dragged out by my hair if I didn’t go,’ she says. ‘So I did, so as not to cause a scene. It was the culmination of how utterly cut off I was. I felt ashamed, useless and alone.’

She says the humiliation helped trigger a suicide attempt, the first of four dangerous episodes of self-harm in the course of the next few years. ‘I went home and slit my wrists and burnt myself with a cigarette repeatedly on my arm.

‘I went to hospital after a friend called an ambulance.’

Even so, the sexual encounters with Farage would continue.

‘He once turned up at my house in Wiltshire in 2015, a baseball cap pulled down over his eyes,’ she says. ‘He wanted sex. I told him no. But as usual Nigel was very insistent. We didn’t end up having full sex, but I did end up feeling like a hooker after he left.’

And when he propositioned her in an MEP’s office in Brussels in the spring of 2016, she once again accepted. ‘He came in and shut the door. He was lying on the sofa, we were talking and he said he was horny.

‘Very explicitly, he said, ‘I’m so stressed’ and asked me to give him a hand massage, which was always followed by me performing a sex act on him. It was over and done with quickly. At that point I was beyond caring.’

The last encounter took place in Strasbourg on October 4 last year. Again he entered the office when she was alone. ‘He gave me a kiss. I wanted affection. And I did as he asked.

‘But I felt disgusted with myself. The next day I learnt the EU was investigating some expenses and I flipped. That combined with the Nigel situation left me feeling that life was pointless. So I cut my wrist in the ladies’ toilet of the European Parliament and ended up in hospital in France.’

Throughout this time, she says, the pressure to maintain the lie became unbearable – the more so since they had been ‘outed’ on the floor of the European Parliament.

‘Nigel said we could keep it out of the media if both of us kept denying it and warned that it would be much worse for me if it came out.

‘I know we had many conversations about it in 2015 and 2016 when we were standing in my garden in the West Country. He told me we must keep any controversy out of the headlines until after Brexit.

‘The other month someone called me damaged, and that’s how I feel. A stupid girl.

‘I feel used and discarded. Now, I want to tell the truth so that I can claim my life back.

‘I’m fed up with living in the shadow of my former self. I’m tired of being ashamed of who I am. I’m not vain enough to think ‘He couldn’t help himself,’ but I do think it was up to him to not to get involved with me.

Last night, Mr Farage declined to confirm or deny that he had had an affair with Ms Fuller. In a statement he said: ‘At the time of Ms Fuller’s employment the party did not know there was a history of mental illness and other serious personal issues.

‘I always tried to help her, recognising that she had ability, and prevented her from being fired on several occasions.’

In his book, The Purple Revolution: The Year That Changed Everything, Farage credits a teacher at Dulwich College for instilling in him a rule for life, ‘the 11th commandment: don’t get caught’.

Today, that commandment lies shattered. And Farage, Ms Fuller says, has only himself to blame.

Hi,

Ukip would seem to be upto their standard behaviour seeking to control and defeat those who dare to oppose them or question their style, policies, corruption, racism and lack of vision, strategies or even tactics.

You will remember when the Nigel Farage cult following fell out with

SKED, Alan UKIP Founder 01

Alan Sked and when Farage was out manouvered he quit the party and had meetings with the BNP – many believe it was with a view to joining tjhem and taking over theri leadership:

#899* - CROUCHER STYLE POISON CREEPS ARE OUT IN FORCE I SEE

Subsequently Farage rejoined Ukip and then his cult fan club fell out with the party leader and MEP Michael Holmes, stealing computers from the party HQ when Nigel Farage’s goffer, fixer and sewer rat Mark Croucher broke into the party offices and stole their computers taking them away in the boot of his car!

Michael Holmes was rumoured about, vituperatively attacked and undermined – eventually having a heart attack and after that retiring as an MEP and as party leader.

The field was now open for the Farage Fan Cult, with pond life like

DENNY, Douglas 02

Douglas Denny CLICK HERE & HERE & ALSO HERE, Mark Croucher CLICK HERE & HERE, Annabelle Fuller, Christopher Gill, Gawain Towler,

LOTT, David 01

David Lott and the like willing and able to lie and spin any situation to ensure Farage was elected, including rigging elections and cheating to ensure their sponsor would gain power for their personal gain.

Then we had the leadership elections when lies and corruption became the order of the day with the usual suspects working with nigel Farage to pervert due process such as Douglas Denny’s active campaigning for Farage whilst supposedly acting as returning officer a position from which he was eventually removed for his corruption and lies, also the lies and efforts of such as Annabelle Fuller who was acting with Nigel Farage to ensure his election by telling lies as when she actively lied about a rival, Richard Suchorzewski  telling people he was an active supporter of the BNP and was homosexual – both of which were outright lies of absolutely no merit.

There was the dark era when Nigel Farage acted with members of his fan cult and those he had ensured were appointed to positions to support his dishonesty and prop up his inep-t and corrupt leadership as he and they attacked elected members of Ukip NEC who wished to introduce transparency and accountability to Ukip’s accounts and lies, spin and distortion of process was used to remove Dr. David Abbott, Dr. Eric Edmonds and others.

There was also the selection process for MEP candidates in which

McGOUGH, Michael 05

Mick McGough lied to advance his position and also set out to intimidate rivals with the support of Nigel Farage and his selected NEC – individuals like John West were lied about and efforts made to block them.

Mick McGough also acted as a stalker and disseminator of dishonest spin about such as Richard Suchorzewski for Nigel Farage, seemingly in respopnse to support from Farage for his own enhancement.

The selection process was utterly corrupted for Nigel Farage and his personal appointment supervising the selection process Christopher Gill actively colluded in the lies and corruption – for more facts

MERCHANT, Piers 04

Piers Merchant, as the returning officer, put in his report of the corruption CLICK HERE

Then there was the active campaigning by Farage’s fan cult against

PAIN, Chris 01

Chris Pain CLICK HERE for details.

More recently there was the conivance against

BADZAK, Jasna 01

Jasna Badzak and the lies and corruption utilised with the Courts to obtain a completely unsound verdict against her and the recent withdrawal of a dishonest and corrupt legal claim against her by Nigel Farage’s long term associate Gerard Batten.

#524* - THE FILTH OF EUkip - McGough et al.

Mark Croucher, a long term employee of Nigel Farage’s also acted for the party, aided with dishonest support from Paul Nuttall MEP and the party Press Office to try to silence myself and my publication of facts and the truth about Ukip and its leadership, wherein a palpably dishonest abuse of the due process of law and the Courts was implemented  – The case was dismissed by the Courts and costs were awarded in favour of myself – to date Ukip have failed to pay the costs ordered against their employee and still have a debt to me of some £13.1/2 thousand + interest, a debt of honour which unsurprisingly Mark Croucher & Ukip lacks the integrity to pay.

Then there were the false claims and lies of

BATTEN, Gerard 09

Gerard Batten MEP and the aid from his cronies in the Metropolitan Police to try to have me arrested and prosecuted on false claims of racist attacks against him and harrassment, similar to his effortts to silence journalists in the mainstream media – there is now every probability that his dishonesty will face the Courts where such activity can expect a substantial custodial sentence, which would no doubt be exacerbated by his obvious abuse of public office!

At the moment it is worth noting that Nigel Farage is colluding in a corrupt and groundless case against Nikki Sinclaire, which started with Nigel Farage’s widely stated annoyance that she had been elected as a Ukip MEP – it is interesting to note that it does seem self evident that Nikki Sinclaire’s work output and commitment to the cause put every one of Ukip’s MEPs tos shame and her results far outstripped any one of them, which did nothing to endear her to the useless bounders who had been elected, and her donations of her own money to supporting the cause rather than the donations made by a few of the MEPs which would seem only to have been in their own personal interest to support their own campaigns for election or re-election. That Farage was actively involved in colluding with others to have Nikki Sinclaire is an open secret.

In keeping with these and many other similar actions it is clear that Ukip are still instigating corrupt and dishonest actions to try to deliberately damage rivals of Nigel Farage – as in this example highlighted in the media today:

BLACKMAILED: Ukip’s only MP was the target of a secret tape plot to smear his private life by ‘dark forces’ within party

  • Douglas Carswell received call after blazing row with a Farage senior aide
  • The caller asked personal questions about his private life and his marriage
  • Now emerged recordings of conversations circulated in his constituency
  • Carswell called for ‘fresh face’ as leader and slammed ‘dark forces’ in party

Douglas Carswell has hit out against ‘dark forces’ in Ukip after learning yesterday of an apparent ‘blackmail plot’ against him involving secret tapes and false allegations about his private life.

The Ukip MP received a phone call from a party figure asking ‘grossly intrusive questions’ about his marriage – which he now believes was a warning to him to stop rebelling against Nigel Farage.

Happily married Carswell, 44, says the allegations are completely untrue, and he has refused to be silenced on the future of the party.

The call was made a few days after Carswell had a blazing row in the Commons with one of Farage’s key aides, party secretary Matthew Richardson. He told Carswell he would ‘regret’ crossing him.

Now the MP has been horrified to learn that secretly recorded Ukip conversations shortly after the row – in which wild allegations were made about his personal circumstances – have been circulated in his constituency.

On Friday, Carswell infuriated Farage by calling for a ‘fresh face’ as leader in the wake of the party’s poor performance in this month’s Oldham by-election. Farage said Carswell should ‘put up or shut up’.

The bust-up with Richardson took place four days after Ukip’s disappointing General Election result, which saw Carswell returned to Parliament as the party’s only MP.

It came after he emailed Richardson and Farage to say that he would only be taking a proportion of the £650,000 in taxpayer funding which Ukip was allowed to claim in the new Parliament. Carswell insisted that this so-called ‘short money’ should only be spent to help him represent his Clacton constituency.

But Richardson – who is also embroiled in the ‘Tatler Tory’ row as a close friend of Mark Clarke, the campaign manager accused of bullying – stormed down to the Commons to say it should all be appropriated by Ukip’s cash-strapped head office.

Last night Carswell gave an account of the confrontation and the sinister call which followed.

He said: ‘Richardson was both aggressive and insistent during the meeting in a Commons committee room, telling me that he would determine how the short money was spent. He said I would be like a US Senator representing the 4 million people who had voted for Ukip.

‘I told Richardson that it was not for him to make such decisions. I was there to represent my Clacton constituency. The money had to be spent correctly, in accordance with Commons rules. He told me that Ukip could spend the money as it wished. I can only imagine he felt that he was acting with Nigel’s blessing.

The call came after he emailed Richardson and Farage to say that he would only be taking a proportion of the £650,000 in taxpayer funding which Ukip was allowed to claim in the new Parliament

The call came after he emailed Richardson and Farage to say that he would only be taking a proportion of the £650,000 in taxpayer funding which Ukip was allowed to claim in the new Parliament

‘I went outside, and while waiting for the lift, Richardson tried to threaten and intimidate me. He said that I would regret my decision not to go along with what he had been proposing. I was subsequently told that Nigel said he had “sent” Richardson down to see me.’

The encounter was followed two days later by a meeting between Carswell and Farage during which, Carswell says, the leader displayed anger at his MP’s refusal to take the short money in full. Days later, Carswell received the call from someone he describes as a ‘senior UKIP official’, and was asked ‘a series of totally inappropriate and leading questions about my private life’.

CARSWELL V FARAGE: NOW THE RELATIONSHIP HAS TURNED TOXIC

The uneasy relationship between Nigel Farage and his solitary MP turned toxic after Ukip’s election disappointment.

Farage was mocked after resigning as leader then changing his mind, and the situation turned into a row with Carswell over the amount of ‘short money’ – payments to help opposition parties pay for Westminster operations – he should claim.

Carswell objected to being told to claim the entire £650,000 and divert funds to the party HQ, rather than just claiming a sufficient amount to fund his Commons office.

Carswell, who has a daughter with wife Clementine, said: ‘The suggestions made were preposterous. Either they were stupid enough to believe them, and wanted to scare me into silence by letting me know that they knew about it, or they were threatening me with the spread of false rumours. Either way, it could be construed as blackmail by dark forces’.

Carswell has clashed repeatedly with Farage since defecting from the Conservatives 18 months ago.

The Clacton MP has spoken out against his leader’s negative approach to immigrants and they have signed up for separate ‘Leave’ campaign groups in the upcoming EU referendum. Farage is allied to the Leave.EU campaign; Carswell has joined the Tory eurosceptic-dominated Vote Leave group – leading Farage to grumble privately that Carswell had ‘gone home’ to his ‘Conservative friends’.

Richardson denied any knowledge of the phone call, and added: ‘I did not use threatening language against Douglas. He was the one who got angry.’

When he was a student, Richardson set up the Oxford Gossip online forum where people could anonymously post about their peers.

The site was shut down in 2008 but friends claim he has boasted about keeping the web logs ‘for use when the people become famous’. Richardson denied keeping the logs.

It is with regret that I inform you that in early July 2009 Piers was diagnosed as having advanced multi site metastatic cancer, the prognosis being bleak. His wife Helen supported by their two children is with him at this time. (07-Jul-09)

It is with regret that I inform you that on 21-Sep-2009 Piers Merchant died after a short terminal illness. The cause of death was multi site metastatic cancer.

Piers Merchant leaves his wife Helen and their daughter and teenage son.

It is sad that his colleagues in UKIP did so little to defend his name when he was lied about and defamed by Mark Croucher, Douglas Denny and others who claimed he had betrayed the party by being Junius when clearly he was not nor ever wrote as part of that team as proven when he died.

Much of Piers’ life was was spent in service to British liberty and democracy, though he will be remembered by many for his colourfull private life – a life too soon lost!

It is terribly sad. Piers will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him, to whatever degree. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
