since UKIP claimed the election of a town councillor – The Mare of Ramsay as seemingly their star achievement during the last National Local Elections – as some great achievement it seems only fair to occasionally flag up similar nationally irrelevant elections such as the by-election in Uttoxeter, with a population of 13,000, for a new Town Councillor in one of the wards.
The result was as follows:
44.9% – Conservative – Natasha WOOD
31.4% – Labour – Ian HENDERSON
13.7% – Libertarian principles – Gavin WEBB
10.1% – UKIP – Philip LANCASTER
A really rather good result for UKIP with way above their normal percentage putting them 4th. in a 4 horse race! In this case the result was unusually high for UKIP as Philip Lancaster is not only well known but personally respected in the area, perhaps he could do more for his community and the cause of leaving The EU were he to stand as an independent based on his personal reputation rather than be associated with the extremist EFD, UKIP’s partners in the EU.
As it is clear that Philip Lancaster’s vote was largely based on his personality he may well have been hampered by his UKIP association & as such races go it may be some time before we see a UKIP Mare win at Uttoxeter Track.

Let us give thanks that incompetent and venal as our Political class in the main are – Few are as stupid & ill informed, inexperienced and ill advised as this!!
.
we can be very glad of one thing – this idiot has absolutely no credibility except amongst his paid praise singers and those seeking a place alongside him at the troughs on the gravy train!
I have read or listened to 100s of Farage’s speeches and posturings but what a relief that he has absolutely no authority beyond his little pile of sycophants.
This video is an absolutely classic example of what not to do and is utterly irresponsible on numerous counts – populist politics of the ignorant is tantamount to pouring petrol on a fire – he has clearly either failed totally to understand the issues or he has so little morality that he is playing to the gallery for personal gain – Either is an act of utter irresponsibility and ethically repugnant.
I believe the comments he makes are out of imaturity, insecurity and ignorance and rather hope that unlike Ken Livingstone he is not acting in self serving self interested campaign mode!
This is not so very far from the EFD suggestion that North African migrants should be shot or that Anders Breivik had some good ideas and was only defending EUropean civilisation – but let us not forget The EFD are UKIP’s partners and Farage is a leader of The EFD – yet another good reason for leaving the EU!

I do not believe the public understand just how dangerous their position is and how horrendous the future is likely to be!
The Westminster Bubble had a rude awakening with The BBC desperately claiming it was looting and implying it was racial – TOTAL BUNKUM – almost as stupid as the comments of Ken Livingstone trying to make personal capital out of the mess Labour left!
.
congratulations to Independent MEP Nikki Sinclaire (UKIP member), her team and supporters.
Not only is their having obtained the 100,000 signatures as discussed by David Cameron and understood to be an undertaking of the coalition a tremendous achievement, but she has obtained more and the number will continue to rise.
That the advertisements in the various media and extensive publicity and the AdVans contributed to obtaining the required signatures does not detract from the capital investment and hard work required over the last year.
There is every reason to believe that this would have been mentioned in the bulk of papers on the front page though I gravely doubt that the Government went so far as to orchestrate the mob vandalism merely to keep the story out of the press! – though to listen to some in UKIP and Ken Livingstone one would think that the erruption of mindless scum hell bent on violence and destruction, with no intelligent motive was heaven sent as a stick to beat the Government.
Some may have sufficient memory cells to remember the glee with which they poo, pooed me when I predicted in the late 1960s, exactly this level of violence we have seen as likely in around 2000 – a comment I reitterated some 15 years ago – I was wrong on the date!
Many will remember that I was opposed to The EU as the further politicians and decision making was removed and the more important the type of person attracted to the new gravy train was allowed to believe they were, the more certain was the violent reaction and feelings of disenfranchisement of the under belly of society.
Sadly I was right.
YouGov‘s poll as commissioned and paid for by Nikki Sinclaire and her team shows just how disenfranchised the British peoples feel.
The sooner we reinstate democracy at Westminster the sooner we can start to address the problems – clearly as a vassal region of The EU the only possible solution is an increased level of state violence and control to hide the symptoms of the inevitable explosion to come!
Regards,
Greg_L-W.

#0620* – YouGov / Nikki Sinclaire MEP Survey Results
Image via Wikipedia
.
I Believe This Is The First Poll EVER to show a clear majority for leaving with as high as 68% of Conservative voters wishing to leave.
Of all the regions of Britain only Scotland & London did not show a majority for leaving The EU.
In every sector – region, gender, age there was over 70% who wanted a greater national debate of the issues.
Only Scotland did not want a referendum and even there 49% did!
CLEARLY BRITAIN’S POLITICIANS ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF STEP WITH THE PEOPLE & Seem To Be Representing Their Own Interests At The Expense of Britain, our peoples and democracy!

The campaign for a referendum on Britain’s EU membership is given a double boost today. (Tues)
A petition demanding a straight “in or out” vote has now attracted more than 100,000 signatures – which should be enough to force a Commons debate.
The breakthrough is bolstered by a new YouGov poll which reveals a clear majority want ordinary people to have the fInal say on whether we pull out.
For the first time the YouGov poll shows a majority of people would actually vote to leave the European Union in an referendum.
The mountain of signatures has been collected in a cross-party campaign led by West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire.
It will pile pressure on the Prime Minister to hold the first referendum on Europe since 1975.
Mr Cameron has pledged to dedicate House of Commons time to any issue which has the support of at least 100,000 people.
While he insists the names must be collected on individually entered electronic petitions, the Commons Leader’s office has indicated that a traditional pen-and-ink petition could be lodged with the backbench business committee if it has one or more MPs sponsoring it.
Nikki will tell a London Press conference today:
“This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU – Almost eight in ten people want a national debate on the pros and cons of EU membership”
“To insist that only an online petition will count would disenfranchise millions of people, particularly the poor and elderly, who do not have an email account or access to a computer.“The huge response to our campaign, together with the findings of our poll, show that most people want their say.”
Today’s poll shows overwhelming support for letting the public decide our future in the EU – and if they got their way they would vote to pull out.
Some 60% of voters want a referendum on whether Britain should remain a member of the EU, according to the YouGov survey commissioned by Nikki’s campaign.
If there was a vote, a massive 52% would vote to leave, with only 30% preferring to stay in and 15% undecided and 4% not bothering to vote.
Nikki, an independent MEP, added:
“Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project. This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum”
MPs are already facing demands to debate bring back hanging after 100,000 backed the move in an e-petition.
But Nikki points out that Britain is powerless to restore the death penalty while still in the EU because it would breach the UK’s membership conditions by breaching the EU’s Fundemental Charter on human rights.
She believes we get the worst of both worlds while inside the EU but outside the EUroZone.
“We have one foot in and one foot outside it,” she said. “This is detrimental to our interests and to those of the EU, both politically and economically. We need to take a decision as to where our future lies.
“Despite numerous promises, nobody under the age of 54 has ever had a say on Britain’s relationship with the EU. This issue needs to be resolved.”
EU membership costs Britain £48 million a day – or £4,912 per household over the last 11 years.
But we have signed away power to decide our own future, with 75 per cent of British regulation coming from EU law.
Nikki also pays tribute to the hundreds of people across the country who have helped collate the petition including one gentleman in Dorset who has collected 2,000 signatures. Nikki said
“I’m overwhelmed by the level of support and the dedication of these people who truly are an inspiration.”
