Political prosecutions? Goebbels would be proud!

In polite society we might not care much for the British National Party, but, although I too find them less than attractive, I am always slightly uncomfortable with the now customary round of arrests – (not exclusive to the BNP as Conservative MP Damian Green demonstrates) – of that party’s members, and the subsequent trials, which always seem to roughly coincide with elections. I would hate to think that the thin blue line was being stretched in order to manipulate the democratic process, but then that would never happen in Britain, would it?
My discomfort goes further than that. It is interesting to note that the UK Independence Party finds itself on the unfavourable end of a high court ruling on impermissible donations just a few short months before this year’s European elections.
The case primarily involves donations made by businessman Alan Bown, a major UKIP backer, whose name dropped briefly off the electoral register in 2005. Whilst there is no suggestion that this occurred for any fraudulent reason, and whilst UKIP won their first court battle over this issue in 2007, the granting of the Electoral Commission’s appeal cannot be helpful at such a sensitive time in the electoral cycle. UKIP stand to lose not only some £363,000 in “impermissible donations”, but will face paying the other side’s considerable legal costs as well, should they lose the next round.
Surely laws governing donations to political parties were never intended to be used in such a way. Or were they?
Funnily enough, the case against Tom Wise, a UKIP MEP, which has dragged on for years, is now reaching its final phase. Despite having been investigated and cleared of financial wrong doing by the European Parliament, South Bedfordshire police have sat on the same allegations for well over a year, but are now stirring into life.
If prosecuted, he will likely find himself in court just weeks before the Euro elections. Funny how these things work out, isn’t it?
Quite a few members of the mainstream political parties have been involved in financial scandals recently, but none of them seem to be scheduled for court between now and the elections.
Democracy, anyone?

I do question whether he got this right! The claim that EUkip ‘won’ the first case just isn’t true – despite deliberate arrogance, dishonesty and hubris on the part of EUkip (particularly Nigel Farage, John Whittacker, David Lott, Andrew Smith and possibly others) EUkip was found Guilty in Court at Horseferry Road.
Indeed laws covering donations were not designed to result in being used in the way implied – they were designed to be obeyed!
That EUkip CHOSE to flout them and refused to co-operate with the Electoral Commission is a measure of the utter ineptitude of its leadership and a clear sign they are unfit for election to represent anyone.
It is a sound law with which EUkip CHOSE to play the fool.
As for the claim by Gary:

I believe you will find not a shred of evidence to this effect, save an untruthfull misrepresentation on EUkip’s web site – as I recall a lie, one of many by Mark Croucher, in this case I believe I am correct in saying the EU insisted the lie was taken OFF of the web site.
As I recall a statement by the EU Parlaiment was made that ‘at this time THEY did not intend to take further action over the fraud concerned’ or some such.
However we understand OLAF did and also the Bedfordshire Police, particularly in view of the factually accurate reporting of fraud and embezzlement made in the National Press and elsewhere regarding The EUkip MEP Tom Wise.
That Tom Wise; still it seems a EUkip MEP, until his recent resignation, a Branch Chairman and a serving member; has been under arrest since June last year and is due to surrender to bail may well indicate that Tom Wise has either made investigation difficult or has provided a great deal of ancilliary information on the offences of fellow MEPs and the Ind.Dem.Group in some form of plea bargaining.
Let us hope justice IS SEEN to be done in these various cases.
TO LEAVE THE EU
What is the exit and survival plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits of leaving The EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our border.
NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.
Politicians are failing to tell the truth, but so are almost all wanabe Politicians, the MSM and Snivil Cervants.
The fact is that even if EVERY British MEP wanted change in The EU it would achieve NOTHING.
Every single British Politician, of EVERY Party, elected since before we joined the EUropean Common Market, has promised to change The EU’s CAP – In 40 Years they have achieved absolutely NOTHING!
To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we leave our children and the future, with shame!

I SUGGEST – since there is clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning for withdrawal of these United Kingdoms from the EU and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country. Deny the self seeking & meaningless wanabe MEPs the Mythical Mandate for which they clamour. Diktat is imposed from The EU but Law should be made at Westminster, for our Country & our Peoples.
