It is interesting to note that not only is Vladimir Bukovsky a long term associate and supporter of senior Ukip executives and members amongst whom are the Ukip MEP Gerard Batten and before him David Lott – Bukovsky was very much a prime mover for Ukip actively campaigning with Ukip to encourage people in Ukip to break the law regarding TV licensing, but with no willingness to support them when their case was inevitably lost!

To QUOTE a Court Reporter:

Vladimir Bukovsky, 74, pictured, would ‘constantly’ download indecent material of children, with a particular emphasis on young boys, over a 15 year period, Cambridge Crown Court heard.

Now we see Gerard Batten’s long term staff member Pavel Stroilov’s efforts to drum up support from foreigners to interfere with British justice designed to protect children from sexual abuse world wide. Clearly it is not unreasonable to suppose a Ukip MEP has sanctioned, if not supported, this blatant attempt to assist Bukovsky’s paedophelia!

Do note the act outside the Courts and compare it with the photo chosen for Stroilov’s petition, minded that the Courts did not seem to believe the act!

To read some of the background of this sordid pervert and his ducking and diving to try to avoid justice – when it would seem there is little or no doubt of his guilt, well cle4arly the judges, police and others in the British legal system believe it is a very sound case of at very least child sexual pornography. Whether Vladimir Bukovsky and his Ukip associates are guilty of filming their own activities with children is a matter for the courts.

Appeal court throws out libel claim over CPS press release

Lay readers understand the special meaning of words used by lawyers, the Court of Appeal has said, dismissing a libel claim over a Crown Prosecution Service press release.

The judgment in Bukovsky v Crown Prosecution Service states that the appellant, was charged in 2015 with a number of offences, including making indecent photographs of children contrary to section 1 of the Protection of Children Act 1978. The charges were related to images allegedly downloaded and stored on his personal computer.

A press release stated that the defendant, Vladimir Bukovsky faced five counts of ‘making an indecent photograph’. Bukovsky brought an action for defamation on the grounds that an ordinary reader might understand the words to mean that he had been directly involved in, or at least present at the scene of, the sexual abuse of children. The claim was struck out in the High Court by Mr Justice Warby, now head of the Media and Communications List, last year.

On appeal, Greg Callus of media and communications set 5RB argued the ‘hypothetical ordinary and sensible reader’ would not understand that the word ‘making’ had a particular meaning in the context of a criminal statute which included downloading.

However, Lord Justice Simon, giving the lead judgment, backed the High Court’s decision. He said a ‘crucial feature’ of the words complained of was the context of the publication – in this instance, an announcement by a prosecuting authority of a decision to prosecute the appellant in which the words used ‘directly reflected the statutory language’. 

‘Words can have a special meaning when used in statutes and by lawyers,’ Simon said. The phrase ‘making a photograph’ does not necessarily imply that the maker was present at the time the photograph or image was made, he added. The fact that the phrase is not in ordinary usage would alert the lay reader to the technical nature of the statement. 

Lord Justice Peter Jackson and Lord Justice Gross agreed.

Bukovsky, a prominent former Soviet dissident and critic of the current Russian government, denies all charges. He is due to appear in court in February 2018.

A Russian dissident accused of possessing thousands of indecent images of children should be retried despite his ill health, a judge has ruled.

Vladimir Bukovsky, 74, denies five counts of making indecent images.

He also denies five of possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing a prohibited image.

An earlier trial at Cambridge Crown Court was halted in December after Mr Bukovsky was diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted to hospital.

Judge Gareth Hawkesworth had directed that “if and when” Mr Bukovsky was fit enough to stand trial, it would be heard before a new jury.

‘Vocal critic’

In a hearing at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday, defence counsel Francis FitzGibbon QC argued that the public interest in prosecuting the case was “not so great as to outweigh the recognised risk to this man’s health and wellbeing”.

He said Mr Bukovsky was a “very sick man” who “may not have very long to go in terms of life expectancy”.

But Judge Hawkesworth said: “In my judgment, and this is a very sad matter, but the defendant’s risk of dying tomorrow on an ordinary day is just as high as if the trial was proceeding tomorrow.”

Ruling that a retrial should proceed, he said that the risk to Mr Bukovsky’s health could be mitigated by allowing him to appear by video link from his home in Cambridge and for him to have a medical examination two days ahead of the trial.

Mr Bukovsky, an author and activist who became well known internationally as a vocal critic of the Soviet regime, returned to the UK from Germany to face the charges. He had been receiving private medical treatment abroad.

He is due to stand trial at Cambridge Crown Court on 24 July.

Hi,

Marley John Spicer who was a Ukip council candidate is sadly all too common a phenominom in our society, being a child abuse offender who collects indecent images of children and movies of them also.

There have been a number of such individuals associated with Ukip, one of the most notable is Vladimir Bukovsky who has been using every trick in the book, it seems, to avoid a final verdict in court for more information of this sordid old pervert CLICK HERE – he was due back in Court in Cambridge in January but I’m not sure what is happening about that!

Such perverts are all too common in public office or aspiring to it and many of our major national organisations like the Church, BBC, TV and acting in general, football and the like would seem to collude in cover-ups of these vile crimes.

Even the Judge in the case of Marley John Spicer’s proven crime would seem to be condoning it with his lax attitude to sentencing for such a vile and damaging crime.

I am not for a moment claiming Ukip are unique as a political party or political faction in harbouring such criminals, but for such a small party with only one ex Tory representing them in Parliament, and very few Councillors, when you consider there are some 19,000 political seats available, they do seem to have a disproportionate representation of perverts and sex offenders. The fact that one of their MEPs Tim Aker is under investigation for multiple rapes, and the Party has failed to suspend him would seem to be some indication of where the party stands on this issue – see CLICK HERE & also HERE

A FORMER Ukip council candidate has been spared a term behind bars despite being caught with thousands of indecent images of children.

Marley John Spicer, of Bere Hill Crescent, was slapped with a three-year community order by Judge Andrew Barnett during a sentencing at Winchester Crown Court last Friday.

The 61-year-old, who unsuccessfully ran as a Ukip candidate in the last Test Valley Borough Council elections, was summoned before the court accused of possessing over 2,800 images across five electronic devices.

He was arrested in December 2015 for possessing the indecent images of children, the large majority of which were classified as category C.

Spicer was also charged with possessing 10 still category A images – the most serious grade – plus 29 class B images and one class A moving image, all of which were of girls aged between eight and 16.

Police found the images after a search of Spicer’s home, in which they seized two laptops and three mobile phones.

Officers later arrested Spicer at his workplace.

During questioning Spicer did not co-operate with the police investigation, answering “no comment”

to each of their questions.

He also refused to enter a plea for the charge of possessing 2,863 category C images, claiming there was a disparity in the figure.

However, despite the large quantity of images, Judge Barnett took pity on married Spicer, who he said had previously held a clean record and had shown “remorse” for his crimes.

Defending, Claire Wiggett claimed Spicer had returned to his Christian faith and wanted to make up for his offending.

Ms Wiggett said: “This is a man who takes full responsibility for his actions and a man who has come to court saying that he is willing to undergo therapy.

“There is an awareness by Mr Spicer that his offending has very widespread effects on the community and his wife, who may need to talk to someone herself about this.”

Judge Barnett accepted that the majority of Spicer’s images, accumulated between 2008 and 2015, were category C and said he would therefore sentence him along such guidelines.

He added that despite Spicer’s “disgusting habit”, it would be of “no benefit” to either him or the community to impose a prison sentence.

Sentencing Spicer to a threeyear community order and 60 days of rehabilitation therapy, Judge Barnett said: “I’m going to make you subject to a long community order because you say that you want to do something about this aberration.

“I’m going to put in that community order that you take part in rehabilitation activity which will include sex offender treatment.

“You be warned that if you do not comply with the probation and break it then you are likely to go to prison.

“Society will have their eye on you as this community order will last for three years.

“I hope that it will benefit you and society.”

Judge Barnett added that Spicer’s confiscated electronic devices would be destroyed and that he will have to sign the sex offenders register.

Hi,this seems something of a non story as it does seem to be based upon the FACT that some 1,400 children were groomed and abused in Rotheram and it was clearly on Labour’s watch – so it would seem  they are unlikely to have a case to bring.However, that Ukip has been placed in this position just shows the low caliber of Ukip’s representatives that they lack the ability to guard their words to prevent embarrassment to the cult.

Rotherham’s three Labour MPs say they are suing two UKIP politicians over remarks made about them in relation to the town’s child abuse scandal.

Sarah Champion, John Healey and Kevin Barron are taking action against MEP Jane Collins for libel and slander for comments she made at a UKIP conference, which they believe are defamatory.

They are also suing Rotherham UKIP group leader Caven Vines for libel.

About 1,400 children were abused in the town from 1997 to 2013, a report found.

Mr Barron and Mr Healey are taking action against Mr Vines for remarks he made in a Sky News interview.

In a joint statement, Ms Champion, Mr Healey and Mr Barron said: “It is sickening that UKIP could use such an important issue for party political point scoring, and we will challenge these defamatory accusations through every means available to prove they are untrue and to stop UKIP exploiting the terrible abuse for their own political gain.”

A UKIP spokesperson speaking on behalf of Mrs Collins and Mr Vines said: “We are unable to comment at the moment, as this is an ongoing case.”

Three Labour MPs are suing a Ukip MEP over “sickening” allegations that they knew about child abuse in Rotherham.

 

Sarah Champion, John Healy and Kevin Barron have announced they are taking action against Jane Collins for libel and slander.

The move follows Ms Collins’ speech to the Ukip conference in Doncaster in September, in which she referred to the report by Professor Alexis Jay that found 1,400 children had been targeted over more than a decade.

The MEP, who is the party’s general election candidate for Rotherham Central, said she was convinced local MPs “knew many of the details of what was happening”.

But in a joint statement, Ms Champion, Mr Healey and Mr Barron said: “It is sickening that Ukip could use such an important issue for party-political point-scoring, and we will challenge these defamatory accusations through every means available to prove they are untrue and to stop Ukip exploiting the terrible abuse for their own political gain.”

Mr Barron and Mr Healey said they were also taking libel action against Rotherham Ukip group leader Caven Vines for repeating similar accusations in an interview.

Based upon Ukip’s track record this would seem to imply that there is yet another skeleton in the cupboard that they fear will spill out due to the ineptitude of Ukip’s selection process, lack of competent leadership and failures of its press office (yet again).Alternatively we are about to see that Ukip’s democratic process has been ignored and Nigel Farage or one of his cronies has a pet candidate they wish to parachute into the position as so often happens, regardless of their suitability and competence as with Godfrey Bloom, David Bannerman, Marta Andreasen, and many others who subsequently befouled the party!There is of course a further explanation as the media shows, which shows John Stanyer was an ex Tory who may well have been parachuted into position against the wish of the local activists himself – as would seem to be given some credence HERE

Seems ‘The thick plotens’.

it is rare after so many years of blogging & following the blogosphere, to trip over a new blog which publishes material so broadly in agreement with one’s own blog!

Nigel Farage’s reaction to the UKIP Calypso coverage is gross hypocrisy

Nigel Farage has written an article on the Independent website about how the UKIP Calypso shows “how skewed people’s priorities are”. The main thrust of his point is summed up in the first paragraph:

How’s this for having your priorities in order: 1,400 young girls are groomed and raped in the North of England, and yet this week we’ve seen a stronger reaction from many on the Left to a calypso song produced by a Ukip supporter.

Later in the article he continues:

Still the obsession over a viral campaign to get a funny song into the charts has dominated the news agenda this week.

I presume Farage is saying that more focus should have been given to the news this week that a number of files have gone missing relating to the Rotherham abuse scandal. I believe the implication Farage wants us to draw is clear. We should not focus on the Calypso when there are other, truly awful, things happening.

His use of an incendiary topic like Rotherham makes it hard for anyone to argue with the position. It is a powerful diversionary tactic and, in our heads, we can probably imagine Mr Farage using it in one of his barnstorming speeches. His “slow-slow-quick” delivery style. His vocal rise and fall. His well delivered anger.

But I believe that this argument is an example of the worst type of political opportunism and misdirection. The type of politics that Farage claims to stand against. I believe it is gross hypocrisy.

The news on Rotherham has continued ever since it was initially uncovered.  Virtually every week a new, shocking, revelation has come to light. Yet I did not hear Mr Farage criticising anyone when Rotherham was replaced in media coverage and editorials by the UKIP conference, or Douglas Carswell and Mark Reckless’s defections. I did not hear Mr Farage pleading with broadcasters to talk more about Rotherham when he was being asked about UKIP’s first elected MP and the party “making history”. I did not hear Mr Farage offering his time to make adverts for child abuse charities when he was busy filming ones for betting companies. So why the outrage now?

The sad truth is he was only too happy for coverage to move away from Rotherham when it suited him. When he was lauded for delivering a “political shockwave”. When he was invited on the primetime political slots. When he was taking another photo opportunity with another pint in another country pub.

So I ask you, Nigel, how’s that for having your priorities in order?
