Dear Mr. Farage,

I think my views on the EU are well known.
I also applaud your effort to remove this country from membership.
I am a UKIP member and therefore declare my interest. I have never previously belonged to any political party.
However, I do not tolerate fools gladly and have never been able to contain myself when confronted with rampant hypocrisy.
You can imagine, therefore, my reaction when I read the article “You TwitFace – the price of social media” by your party chairman, Steve Crowther, in the latest edition of your party magazine only to then turn the page and be confronted by an election campaign piece by Neil Hamilton. I understand the reasoning behind Mr Crowther’s article.
The basic message of ‘be careful what you write because it could come back and bite you’ is a sensible one. But how do you reconcile this message with your decision to be involved with Mr Hamilton? Are his past deeds not going to come back and bite you?
Have you forgotten that Mr Hamilton was involved in the ‘cash for questions’ scandal and that his electorate were so impressed with him that he was defeated by a man in a white suit in Tatton – the fourth safest Conservative seat in the country at the time?
Have you forgotten the findings of the 1997 Downey enquiry? Have you forgotten his brushes with Al Fayed and others in court? And, more recently, might I remind you that, despite all your efforts, the membership rejected his attempts to be selected as a European Parliament candidate?
The grass roots membership don’t want Mr Hamilton – but you are ignoring them. And your Chairman has the audacity to lecture the membership about being careful of their past conduct.
This is hypocrisy of the highest order and if you don’t do something about it, then it WILL come back and bite you, Mr. Farage…
