one has to wonder if Paul Nuttall, the present leader of Ukip, is in fact in any way reliable – his CV and various web sites, some of many years standing, seem to be riddled with inaccuracy which at best seem to be fantasy but seem much more like self aggrandising lies are plausible in any respect.
Nuttall’s behaviour is indubitably bringing Ukip into disrepute with the coverage he is getting with a fully dedicated thread on Twitter covering his implausible claims from which I quote viz.: & even more concerning and rather more than a leg pull:

This is of course not provenance that he has lied on all counts but it is clearly provenance that he is sufficiently untrustworthy as to have brought Ukip, EU politics and the body politic into disrepute – not that I would claim that he is unique in that situation as all 3 are at an all time low as shown by the calibre of individuals who have floated to the top and reached positions of stature and responsibility in recent years and are quite clearlyacting beyond their wit or integrity!
That the leader of a British political party, however insignificant, can get away with claiming he hadn’t noticed glaring inaccuracies, exagerations and even lies on his own web sites and social media profiles that had been there for a matter of years seems completely implausible to me – at very best it indicates a crass ineptitude that is not comensurate with an individual seeking to represent a constituency and its constituents on either a local, a regional or a world stage – the man is clearly inadequate to the task, at best, but seems more to be self seeking founded on outright dishonesty.
One wonders how such an odious individual, for he lacks even the inate charm and competent ability to entertain that the undeniable scoundrel Nigel Farage had, just how can he have floated to the top even in such an obvious septic tank as Ukip, with its fiddling, lies, incompetence, corruption, nepotism, criminality, bullying, debauchery, back stabbing and squabbling, for which there is so much documentary proof on this web site alone! Even it would seem a common occurance to use the public purse to fund sexual gratification!
Have they no shame? But then again sociopathy have no understanding of shame!
Ukip leader Paul Nuttall denies lying about being at Hillsborough disaster
Campaign groups express surprise that he never assisted in their fight to get justice for the 96 who died
Paul Nuttall, the Ukip leader, has denied that he has lied about being a Hillsborough survivor after a number of people questioned his claim to have been present on the day of the disaster.
He claims to have been present, along with his father and two uncles, when 96 Liverpool fans were crushed to death, and has said only “scum of the earth” would suggest this was not true.
After he added in a newspaper interview last weekend that he did not like to talk about the disaster, the Hillsborough Families Support Group questioned why he had never offered any support, while others who knew him at the time say they have no recollection of him saying he was present during the disaster.
With these questions being raised, Ukip gave the Guardian two statements on behalf of Nuttall, one from his father and another from a Ukip employee, saying that they and Nuttall had been at Hillsborough on the day of the disaster.
The statement from Nuttall’s father gave an incorrect age for his son at the time of the 1989 disaster.
The statements appear to raise further questions for Nuttall, who is contesting the Stoke Central byelection for Ukip on 23 February.

He declined to answer the Guardian’s questions about the matter. His parents have not responded to a request that they speak to the Guardian.Nuttall first publicly claimed to have been at Hillsborough in a letter to the Liverpool Daily Post in July 2010. He raised the matter again in May last year, saying during an interview on the BBC’s Politics Show North West that he had been in the overcrowded Leppings Lane end of the ground.
He told his interviewer that he thought police officers responsible for the disaster should be prosecuted. “I think people should carry the can for their actions,” he said.
Nuttall was 12 at the time of the disaster, and was a pupil at Savio high school in Bootle, Liverpool. One of his former teachers, a Roman Catholic priest, has told the Guardian that the school had believed it was aware of the identities of every boy who had been at Hillsborough, in order to help them through a difficult period, and that Nuttall was not among them.
A fellow pupil at the school who says he has been a friend of Nuttall for decades, said the Ukip leader had not once mentioned being there. “I have been very good friends with Paul for over 25 years,” he said, adding that during that time they had “never spoken” about Hillsborough.
While the teacher and friend expressed surprise that Nuttall says he was at Hillsborough, their comments do not prove that he was not present.
Joe Benton, who was Labour MP for Bootle for 25 years, said that to the best of his knowledge Nuttall had not mentioned Hillsborough when he stood against him, for Ukip, in the 2005 and 2010 general elections.
Nuttall had not mentioned being present at Hillsborough during any public meeting they had both attended, nor in his campaign literature, Benton said, despite the strength of feeling within the constituency about the police negligence that led to the deaths, and the subsequent official cover-up that led to Liverpool fans being blamed for the disaster.

The current Labour MP, Peter Dowd, said that as far as he was aware, Nuttall had not mentioned Hillsborough when he contested Bootle for Ukip in the 2015 general election.
The mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, said: “If Nuttall was [at Hillsborough] then it is extremely disappointing that during many years of pain and anguish for the families, he never once used his position nationally and internationally to stand up for people from his own community and join the fight for justice.”
Margaret Aspinall, chair of the Hillsborough Families Support Group, said she was surprised that Nuttall had never offered to assist with their decades-long campaign to overturn the cover-up that led to Liverpool football fans being blamed for the 96 deaths.
“I haven’t heard anything about him being at the match,” she said. “Has he given a statement to the police, who have said they want to hear from everyone who was there? He can’t say he hasn’t heard that the police want to take statements from everyone who was in the Leppings Lane, as it’s been all over local and national media.”
Nuttall declined to explain why he had not offered his support to the group. He also declined to say whether he had given a statement to the police who are currently investigating events on the day of the disaster.
He further declined to offer any comment about the way in which a former teacher and old school friend said he had never mentioned being at Hillsborough; nor about the way in which he appears not to have mentioned being present at the disaster while fighting three general elections in a Liverpool constituency.
Nuttall, a member of the European parliament for eight years, also declined to say whether he had ever sought to have the parliament debate any of the issues arising out of the disaster.
In response to the questions, Ukip issued a statement that said Nuttall was the victim of a smear campaign sanctioned by senior members of the Labour party.
Any claim that he was not at Hillsborough was “totally false and highly defamatory”, the statement said, adding: “Paul was indeed at Hillsborough. He attended the match with his father and other family members. For political opponents to suggest otherwise and for left-wing media organisations to promote such claims constitutes a new low for the Labour party and its associates.”
Ukip produced two statements. The statement from Nuttall’s father begins: “I am and always have been the father of Paul Nuttall, leader of the UK Independence party.” It goes on to state that Nuttall had been 13 years old at the time of the disaster. He was actually 12.
The second statement is said to be from a Ukip official at the European parliament. This said that the two men had been friends for 35 years and were both at Hillsborough.

Last week, Nuttall told the Ukip-supporting Sunday Express that he had been at the match with his father and two uncles, and that after being caught in a crush outside the stadium they had entered the upper tier at Leppings Lane. Only “scum of the earth” would say otherwise.
It is not the first time that claims made by Nuttall, or made on his behalf, have been questioned by others.
Staffordshire police have said they are investigating an allegation of election fraud after Nuttall’s nomination papers for the Stoke Central byelection gave an address in the city at which he subsequently admitted he was not living. Knowingly providing false information on a nomination paper is an offence punishable by up to 51 weeks’ imprisonment. Ukip said all rules had been complied with.
Nuttall’s personal website has carried the claim that he had once been a professional footballer with Tranmere Rovers. After Rovers stated that he had been a member of its youth side, but never a professional, Nuttall blamed his website’s statement on a Ukip press officer.
Until late last year, Nuttall’s profile page on the LinkedIn social networking site implied that he had a PhD. He did not complete his doctoral studies, however. Challenged about this, Nuttall insisted that the LinkedIn page “wasn’t put up by us, and we don’t know where it’s come from”. The page was subsequently edited to remove any reference to a PhD.
In 2015, while Ukip’s education spokesperson, Nuttall appeared in a photograph that was found to have been digitally altered to give the impression that he was standing in a library. Nuttall responded by joking that he had two copies of each of his books.
He is currently among six Ukip members of the European parliament who are under investigation for alleged misuse of funds. If they are found to have broken the rules, they will be expected to pay the money, which totals around £500,000.
Ukip rejects the allegations, saying it has “scrupulously applied” the rules of the European parliament.

For all the talking-up of their electoral chances in the Copeland and Stoke by-elections by Paul Nuttall and the pro-UKIP Daily Express, UKIP is a party in crisis.
Now a recording has emerged that may just be the straw that breaks the UKIP camel’s back.
Michael McManus is a former UKIP MEP candidate, senior party adviser, vice-president of its youth organisation, ‘parliamentary attache‘ of UKIP Friends of Israel and well-known in those circles for his closeness to senior party figures – he is alleged, for example, to have helped Paul Nuttall fabricate evidence to discredit Gregg Beaman when Nuttall wanted Beaman’s position as lead MEP candidate for the north-west and was accused of only achieving the vice-president position because of his closeness to Farage.
So, as a source of information on UKIP affairs, he can be considered well placed. According to his Linkedin profile, he is a ‘policy expert’ at the European Parliament, so he’s also well placed to know the party’s MEPs.
Just after the referendum result last year, Mr McManus was recorded ‘holding forth’ to an unknown interlocutor about the state of affairs inside the party. The SKWAWKBOX has obtained a copy of this recording and to call it damning of the calibre of UKIP’s elected representatives would be kind in the extreme.
The recording is also likely to estrange the party from those who voted to leave the EU last June – and make them even less popular with those who voted to remain.
The relevant excerpt is less than three minutes long and the most relevant section begins at the -minute mark. In it, Mr McManus:
describes MEPs as c******kers who are ‘unemployable‘
explains how they desperately don’t want to leave the EU
claims UKIP’s MEPs are good for nothing other than getting ‘pissed every day and hav[ing] a tax-free salary‘
and, most damningly, claims that then-party leader Nigel Farage has a history of firing anyone who looks competent enoughto actually achieve Britain leaving the EU

No wonder he was seen applying for German citizenship the day after the result.

you will have read the details of the fraudulent claims that Paul Nuttall, the new Ukip leader, had played professional football for Tranmere Rovers on this web site dated 01-Dec-2016 CLICK HERE, now as promised we are able to publish further fraudulent claims made about his CV, where there are claims made that he had a PhD – as I predicted he claims it was an error made by a member of staff!
That the claim was only taken down when we had researched and proved the claims were untrue, yet as he admits they had been published on his site since 2009!
Then we published hints bringing doubt on the veracity of his claims related to his presence at the Hillsborough disaster and his failure to take a clear stance relative to the inquiry, despite being a political representative of the area and thus the families concerned – we believe there is every reason to believe Paul Nuttall is a liar who has been ‘coffin jumping’ to dishonestly enhance his career!
We recently published more of Paul Nuttall’s dishonesty relative to his expenses wherein it would seem he claims for offices he has little or no right to claim on which seem to be no more than a PO Box or at best a ‘virtual office’!
Read on as I have published details of his apparent perfidy regarding Hillsborough – then ask yourself if this man is fit to represent anyone let alone be a leader for decent honest people, whether misguided or not!
Are not the facts regarding Paul Nuttall more suited to someone who is unfit for public office and indeed someone who his constituents would and more rationally should hound out of his position and indeed his region!
UKIP’s Paul Nuttall caught on video lying about being at #Hillsborough?
New(ish) UKIP leader Paul Nuttall has been on the hook a couple of times recently for allegedly exaggerating the truth (or telling outright porkies, depending what you make of his excuses).
He was challenged on the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show last month over claims that he had a PHD from an institution that was not able to award them when he claimed to have been there – and that he claimed to have played professional football for Tranmere Rovers, when this was proven not to be the case.
Mr Nuttall backtracked from these exaggerations by claiming that the PHD had been claimed on a Linkedin page that did not belong to him and from the Tranmere claim on the basis that he had played for the club’s youth team and had never claimed to have played for them professionally.
He was also ridiculed in the press in 2015 for appearing in a UKIP promotional image that had the books in the background digitally added, as could be seen by books (and part books) being repeated in adjacent sections of the image.
Make of all that what you will – but the SKWAWKBOX can exclusively reveal that Paul Nuttall can be seen and heard, in video footage, apparently committing what would be the ultimate and unforgivable sin for a Merseysider: making false claims about your involvement in the Hillsborough disaster.
The footage, from the north-west regional edition of the BBC’s Sunday Politics show, shows Nuttall talking just after the success of Hillsborough campaigners in their fight for justice for their loved ones who died in that tragedy.
Mr Nuttall appears to have been keen to in the reflected kudos and, perhaps, to burnish his ‘northern’ credentials because – within the space of less than a minute – he claims to have been in two separate areas of ‘crush’ at the stadium at the same time.
At the 16-second mark of the video, he states:
People like myself who were in the Leppings Lane end, we knew what was going on.
‘We knew what was going on’ – we were on the inside, watching things unfold.
While at 1 min 15s, he claims to have been in the crowd that was massed and stuck outside the Leppings Lane end:
..the crush was going on outside, and I tell you what, people would have died outside, and I was involved in that crush outside.
It’s just about possible he was outside in the crush then got inside, but then you wouldn’t talk as if you were on the inside watching things happen and only add you were in the outside crush as an afterthought.
At 2.40pm inside the stadium the Leppings Lane central pens, known as 3 and 4, were already very crowded..
..[Between 2.49-2.52pm] In the outer concourse, Superintendent Marshall was dealing with the worsening crush. Over the radio he repeated his request for an exit gate to be opened to relieve the pressure. He added that if the gates were not opened someone would be killed.

Is it credible that a 12yo boy – as Nuttall was at the time – could be inside watching things unfold and outside in crushed-tight crowds simultaneously, or within a very short timescale? Is it credible that he’d be on the outside in the crush then claim to know about it because you were watching from inside, rather than knowing because you were in it?
And if the separate claims cannot both be true, then what does that say about Mr Nuttall’s credibility – especially in the context of the claims he has already been challenged about? Are his claims to have been there at all credible – or do they ring as false as his ‘PhD’?

this is an electoral scam Nigel Farage has been involved in before and many will remember when the Spanish resident Argentinian raised Martha Andreasen with the Swedish husband used a false address provided by Nigel Farage and Malcolm Lord Pearson to stand, win and represent a Ukip MEP seat! Ukip also overlooked the fact that Andreasen was a total fraud who passed herself off as some kind of whistleblower and the Chief Accountant of the EU – also with the support of Pearson and Farage!

Ukip man sought false address to stand in Assembly elections
Email leak: David Kurten, who is living in Surrey, and Ukip leader Nigel Farage
A Ukip London Assembly candidate asked for a bogus address in the capital to enable him to stand in next year’s elections, the Standard has learned.
David Kurten, who is currently living outside London, asked Ukip colleagues to help him bypass rules by letting him “register at their address” to be nominated for Assembly elections in May, a leaked email reveals. Rules state candidates must be registered to vote in London or have lived, worked, rented or owned property here for 12 months.
His message to Ukip colleagues read: “I need to be on the electoral register in Greater London for the Assembly elections. Currently I’m living in Surrey at the campus of the school I work with, so I need to move or find someone who would let me register at their address until I move into London.”
“I have my flat here in Weybridge till 31st March so ideally I don’t want to move until then, but that’s too late in terms of nomination eligibility.” He then asks directly if anyone will “let me go on the electoral register at their address”.
Alternatively, he asks if anyone knows of a cheap room he could rent from February to May to “use as a pied-à-terre” for nomination purposes.
Conservative Assembly member and MP James Cleverly said: “Pretending to live in London just to qualify as a candidate is a serious breach of trust and, if true, puts a huge question mark over his suitability as a candidate.”
Asked about the email, Mr Kurten told the Standard he is working a two-term placement at a Surrey school which came with rented accommodation, prior to which he lived in Peckham.
Explaining that he had become a candidate after getting the job, he said: “I sent the email to find out if I can meet the eligibility criteria while still renting the accommodation I have at the campus where I work, which is five miles outside the Greater London area, but was advised that I should move into the Greater London area at Christmas time, and that is what I now plan to do.”
A Ukip spokesman said: “Realising that he was temporarily five miles outside the GLA area, he was looking for a short-term solution. He has already been advised that a postal address is not good enough.”

Nigel Farage has said he is relieved to no longer be Ukip leader because it had meant “having to deal with low-grade people every day”, in an interview where he said his £85,000-a-year salary had left him “poor” compared with his City banker friends.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Farage said he now has global ambitions beyond the Eurosceptic party, including negotiating trade deals with the US president-elect, Donald Trump, and finding a solution to the Middle East conflict.
The MEP, who also hinted he will attempt to make his eighth bid for a seat in parliament despite seven unsuccessful runs, said he was happy to continue to be a public face while Ukip’s new leader, Paul Nuttall, ran the party.
“I am having a great time,” he said. “I am not having to deal with low-grade people every day. I am not responsible for what our branch secretary in Lower Slaughter said half-cut on Twitter last night – that isn’t my fault any more. I don’t have to go to eight-hour party executive meetings.
“I don’t have to spend my life dealing with people I would never have a drink with, who I would never employ and who use me as a vehicle for their own self-promotion. There are a lot of great people in Ukip. The problem is that Ukip has become a bit like the other parties: people view it as a means to get elected.”
Farage said his years as Ukip leader had meant he had sacrificed much of his earning potential. “I have no regrets about being poor,” he said of his MEP’s salary. “I don’t drive smart cars, I don’t go on fancy holidays. All my money has gone on my kids’ education.”
Farage suggested one role he could potentially play for Trump was a Middle East peace negotiator. “I’m not suggesting that I can do everything, but I do think that I’m quite good at negotiating. I’m quite good at bringing people together,” he said.
“I can’t close that off. It means too much to me,” he said. “Look, I hope, genuinely, that Brexit means Brexit and the job is done and there is no need for me. I really hope that’s it. But with every week that goes by, I think it might not be, so I’ll have to stick at it.”
A Ukip spokesman declined to comment on Farage’s remarks about the party.

Or more to the point his income of £85K + the £30K pocket money for his wife and the amount he is believed to have skimmed + the many fees for appearances + payouts extorted from the media viz reputed £70K for having his phone hacked because he was Ukip leader (no one would have bothered had he not have been) which all seems to have vanished in his pocket giving estimates in the financial press of his wealth as between £3 & 7M – less of course the amounts the EU ordered him to repay . This amounts to a hell of a lot more he could have expected to have earned had he remained as a drunken lout in the seedy lap top clubs, bars & restaurants he frequented during his time as a failure in the City, with jobs his Fathe, Guy Farage lined him up for.
A measure of the veracity of this fact is that until recently he still had outstanding debts from his City days and his brother, with whom he worked never seemed to make it into the league as a high roller.

Nigel Farage, a dedicated wine drinker has cultivated an image of being a layabout always willing to have a drink with anyone in order to use them as a vehicle for his own self-promotion and to keep him on the gravy train.
One must admit he has an excellent ability to surround himself with low grade staff & minnions so that he shines, more readily able to dupe the elderly and none too bright who fail to see through his performance!
As for Paul Nuttall & his seemingly fabricated CV where qualifications he claimed on his web sites etc were blamed on staff when they were exposed as untrue! Let us not forget both Nigel Farage and Paul Nuttall went to Sleaford & North Hykham by election to try to get Victoria Ailing elected, despite the fact that I hear she is under investigation for false claims of benefits, as a Ukip Councillor, and the outcome was a risible 4,000 votes in the by election which the Tories won with over 17.5K votes!
The likes of Nigel Farage, Nuttall, Diane James, Steven Woolfe etc. are as much an embarrassment and have all the credibility one can attribute to Russian propaganda and the false glorification of General Pantilov’s 28 who sacrificed themselves in defence against a German column in WWII – an even which never happened.
Or America’s movie propaganda that in WWII they stole an enigma machine and cracked the German codes – both stories are as false as Ukip’s claims of achievement of a Referendum and BreXit – both of which Nigel Farage strenuously worked to oppose!

Exclusive: UKIP Leader Paul Nuttall Facing EU Funding Fraud Probe

The leader of UKIP is facing investigation by EU authorities over links to a dodgy donations scandal which allegedly saw a political group he runs fraudulently claim huge sums of money from European taxpayers.
Heat Street can reveal that Paul Nuttall, who was chosen to succeed Nigel Farage last week, was also president of a Eurosceptic think-tank which has been targeted in the official probe.
Senior investigators are so sure that his group is at fault that they are pushing to deny them €89,000 of promised public funding.
Until recently Nuttall led the Initiative for Direct Democracy in Europe (IDDE), which distributes funds to Eurosceptic parties across the continent, a position he took over in 2015.
The IDDE was recently named by a European Parliament watchdog as one of two organisations allegedly trying to circumvent EU funding rules to get their hands on more funding.
And according to new documents passed to Heat Street, and reproduced in full below, investigators suspect that the IDDE secured illicit donations from sympathetic businessmen in return for lucrative contracts.
The cash was allegedly necessary to meet a threshold for EU funding which requires groups like the IDDE to get 15% of its revenue from other sources.
The revelations will prove a headache for Nuttall, coming so soon after he took the helm of a party rocked by successive scandals and defections since Nigel Farage stepped down in the wake of the UK’s Brexit referendum.
A spokesman for the IDDE said: “Paul Nuttall is not the IDDE President. He resigned when he began the Leadership race.”
The group has so far declined to comment on the specifics of the case.

Could these various fraud revelations be starting to explain why Diane James refused to sign on as leader of Ukip as she became aware that Nigel Farage may well have resigned to protect himself and pass on the liability for the frauds to the new leader!
Could it be that the closer Diane James came to the job of leadership the more concerned her experienced and competent £Millionaire partner became regards her pending take over of liabilities. There is something of a myth in Ukip that although their leadership and NEC are jointly and severally liable for the liabilities of the business called Ukip that they are in some way indemnified by the fact that a few years ago Ukip formed itself into a Limited Company to potentially indemnify its members from liability for Ukip debts.
I cautioned at the time that this commercial move did not indemnify them against fraud! This information was suppressed.
I would hazard a guess that Nigel Farage being aware of the parlous state of Ukip’s finances and the various fraud investigations underway and the extent of the frauds, is no longer a director as al;though he has taken moves to hold his monies off shore he is still a man of considerable substance with assets that can readily be attached.
One wonders if Steven Woolfe ande Susanne Evans are aware of just how close a call they may have escaped and if it has dawned on the foolish Paul Nuttall with his dodgey CV has even begun to realise the danger he is now in as the new leader of Ukip.
One is tempted to ask what happened to incredibly unmemorable Steve Crowther, who suddenly vanish – did he suddenly realise the possible extent of his liability?

you will have read the details of the fraudulent claims that Paul Nuttall, the new Ukip leader, had played professional football for Tranmere Rovers on this web site dated 01-Dec-2016 CLICK HERE, now as promised we are able to publish further fraudulent claims made about his CV, where there are claims made that he had a PhD – as I predicted he claims it was an error made by a member of staff!
That the claim was only taken down when we had researched and proved the claims were untrue, yet as he admits they had been published on his site since 2009!
That the claims about football were untrue are of little significance beyond establishing, as with the fake library he used to imply his intelligence, there is little importance to being a footballer for a political party leader – just as using a wallpaper picture of a library matters little – it is the lack of integrity it clearly shows.
To have permitted the belief that he had a PhD in history to have stood on his web space for 6+ years that is shamefull and totally undermines his credibility!
Just what can one believe about Paul Nuttall, in the light of these published claims? In fact just what can one believe regarding Ukip?
Ukip’s track record of integrity is exceeding thin when you consider that it seems their last leader Diane James, who only6 lasted 18 days, had a CV easily as imaginitive as Paul Nuttalls and when you note the dubious details which we established regarding Steven Woolfe, who was the front runner for leader at one stage.
Then one notes the lack of integrity of Nigel Farage who managed to dupe the shoddy journalism of the MSM into the belief he had some part in achieving the Referendum that brought about BreXit, a Referendum he did all in his powers to prevent happening and which he lacks even the basic decency to attribute to Nikki Sinclaire, who inspite of his and Ukip’s efforts to prevent her, set up a cross party group and raised the petition of 250,000 signatures which forced the Coalition Government to hold a full scale House of Commons debate that gave rise to the Tory Manifesto promise of an In/Out Referendum on EU membership which clearly delivered a massive vote for BreXit – neither Nigel Farage nor Ukip as a party took any part in the petition and obtaining the Referendum.
Sadly Ukip have an extensive record of dishonesty, theft, money laundering, corruption and lies it is increasingly unwise to believe a word they say!
Shamefully and dishonestly Nigel Farage and Ukip have claimed the glory earned by Nikki Sinclaire and the team she built, that a lazy, shoddy and incompetent media has fallen for Ukip’s spin is not only a reflection on the lack of integrity of Ukip but a staggering indictment of the Mainstream Media.

Ukip’s new leader was at the centre of a ‘fake CV’ row last night over allegations that he falsely claimed to hold a university doctorate.
The row, which comes just days after Paul Nuttall had to backtrack over boasts about playing professional football for Tranmere Rovers, has blown up over his online CV which refers to a ‘PhD, History’ from ‘Liverpool Hope University’ in 2004.
It caused bafflement at the institution, which did not win university status until 2005 and did not have the authority to award PhDs until 2009.

The embarrassment comes as this newspaper has learned that Mr Nuttall, who succeeded Nigel Farage last Monday, is hoping to storm the Commons by standing in the Leigh by-election early next year.
The contest will be triggered when Labour’s Andy Burnham stands down as he bids to become Mayor of Manchester. It gives Mr Nuttall an early chance to escape from the shadow of Mr Farage, who failed seven times to win a Commons seat.
Mr Nuttall’s educational achievement was listed on the LinkedIn professional networking site but was taken down on Friday, shortly after The Mail on Sunday started making enquiries.

A senior source at Liverpool Hope University told this newspaper: ‘You have no right to bandy those letters around until you have finished your doctorate and passed the viva exam. The education section is for qualifications you have been awarded, not ones you’d like to have one day.’
Last night, a spokesman for Mr Nuttall said the entry had been misleadingly completed by an ‘over-enthusiastic researcher’ and Mr Nuttall one day hoped to complete the PhD research into the ‘History of Conservatism in Liverpool’, which he started at the then college 12 years ago.
Liverpool Hope University declined to comment to The Mail on Sunday about Mr Nuttall on ‘data protection’ grounds. But in an email sent to Mr Nuttall, a spokeswoman asked for his permission to ‘confirm to the media’ that ‘you gained a Masters qualification from us in 2003 and not a PhD in 2004 (I am, however, aware that you started the PhD course)… and that you were employed as a temporary, hourly paid lecturer at Liverpool Hope University between 2004-2005 and 2005-2006’.
It is not the first time that Mr Nuttall has been at the centre of controversy over his intellectual credentials: he was pictured in Ukip’s 2015 Election manifesto standing in front of a library full of duplicate books – the image had been digitally altered to make the collection seem more extensive.

Ukip sources said last night that Mr Nuttall was optimistic about overturning Labour’s 14,000 majority in Leigh: the party secured nearly 20 per cent of the vote in the 2015 General Election, and was just 1,300 votes off the second-placed Conservatives. It means he could win the seat on a much smaller swing than the one which propelled the Lib Dems to victory over Zac Goldsmith in the Richmond Park by-election on Thursday.
Mr Nuttall was embarrassed last week after a claim on his personal website that he had been a ‘professional footballer’ for Tranmere Rovers was denied by the club. A Ukip spokesman said he had played for the Tranmere schoolboy and youth teams, and the embellishment was an ‘innocent mistake’ by a press officer.
A Ukip spokesman said: ‘The LinkedIn page has not been updated since 2009. We do not know who put up the page and we had it taken down before being approached by The Mail on Sunday.’

One has to ask, based on denials from various authoritative sources whether he actually went to University it seems as if Ukip’s new leader may well be as imaginitive about his qualifications and background as it would seem to have transpired Diane James was!

They will be on this web site shortly after the paper has been put to bed and if I have nothing better to do & my rubbish BT internet connection stands up you may well find the details on this web site before midnight! I wonder if he was actually at Hillsborough and involved in both crushes as he claims – I have my doubts, based on conversations I have had with a friend who deffinitly was there, and has campaigned since for justice for the Hilsborough victims, and knows Paul Nuttall quite well, including his shifty and untrustworthy nature!

New Ukip leader Paul Nuttall has been forced into an embarrassing denial of his own website’s claim he played professional football for his local team.
The site has two references to Mr Nuttall’s past as a ‘professional footballer’ for Tranmere Rovers, just across the Mersey from his childhood home in Bootle.
But when MailOnline contacted the National League club to ask whether he had ever played for the first team, a spokesman said, ‘Definitely not’.
The two posts on paulnuttallmep.com, which carried Mr Nuttall’s byline, were written in 2010.
The first, published in April and citing Mr Nuttall’s support for the National Football Museum, called him a ‘former professional footballer’ in the second paragraph.
The other, from May, which praised Blackpool FC’s promotion to the Premier League, claimed he ‘spent time as a professional footballer for Tranmere Rovers’.
Ukip told MailOnline the references were an ‘innocent mistake’, and blamed a ‘press officer’ who had drafted the releases and posted them on the website.
A spokesman insisted the site was ‘not a personal blog’, adding: ‘Paul has never described himself as a former professional footballer.
‘The description is not a part of any quote from Paul and is a regrettable but innocent mistake by the press officer that wrote the items around the quotes Paul supplied.’
‘Had he seen the full versions and not just checked his quotes, Paul would have corrected them, as he has done on the few occasions interviewers have made the same mistake. Paul has played for the Tranmere school boy and youth teams.’

He vowed to rebuild Ukip after a disastrous summer that culminated in an altercation between two of its MEPs that left one of them in hospital.
He promised to exploit Jeremy Corbyn’s weakness on issues like immigration and defence to target dozens of Labour seats in the North of England.
But he also served notice to the Government that Ukip will ‘hold their feet to the fire’ to prevent ‘backsliding’ over Brexit.
I note with interest that Paul Nuttall would seem to have paniced at being investigated and not only have there been changes to his Wikipedia entry recently but he has now removed his LinkedIn entry but here is what it said before it was removed:
There is little doubt that Paul Nuttall will try to pass all this off as an error by a staff member – little men always try to blame others, men of competence and leaders of any ability accept the blame for their errors!
Hey-Ho only time for 2 more Ukip leaders before Christmas – perhaps they can find another fake cheap in the January Sales!

Evans came second with 2,973 votes (19.3%) Lost her £5,000 deposit for the second time this year! Clearly a not very popular slow learner!
Rees-Evans third with 2,775 votes (18.1%) Lost his £5,000 deposit having failed to reach the 20% threshold for retention!
32,757 ballot papers issued
15,405 votes cast. (Less than 1/2 the claimed membership bothered to vote!)
Nuttall’s first act as leader was to appoint: Peter Whittle – London Assembly member – deputy leader. Farage Offered joint honorary presidency of the party. Paul Oakden will stay on as party chairman. MEP Patrick O’Flynn – a close ally of leadership rival Suzanne Evans – appointed his principal political adviser. MP Douglas Carswell – UKIP’s only Westminster MP – tweeted: “Thrilled and delighted by UKIP new leader Paul Nuttall – clear new strategic direction!”

We note that the odious Paul Nuttall has been crowing about being quoted in the Daily Express. What a pity that the paper in question couldn’t be bothered to do a little bit of research before seeking quotes from this disgusting, corrupt and lying individual. We would advise them in future to avoid this man lest they be tainted by his corruption. The odious Paul Nuttall is a disgrace to UKIP and the whole euro-realist movement. The sooner he is kicked out as an MEP the better!
1.- Paul Nuttall is often called “Mussolini”, even by members of his own party. Former UKIP members have dubbed him “Il Duce of the North-West”. CLICK HERE
2.- UKIP North West was dealt a massive blow after several party members resigned following disputes with Paul Nuttall over his dictatorial attitude. Ukip is now entering dangerous times with less than 1/3rd. of the membership having supported Nuttall as leader, no clear backers of any note, huge outstanding debts, under investigation by both OLAF on some £20M of expenditure and The Electoral Commission over apparent abuse of declaration rules and with no clear reason for existence as their CLAIMED aim of BreXit having been voted into existence.
Ukip will struggle on utilising the public purse as a primary source of income but once BreXit occurs the party has no clear future income, nor any apparent reason for existence.
Labour may be perceived as under threat but all they need to do is remind the electorate of their very clear roots in opposition to the EU, that it was only a brief betrayal by Blair & Brown’s corruption of Labour and take ownership of BreXit as they harrie the Government towards BreXit and aid in delivering the best deal and all their worries from a challenge by Ukip will be over.
Will Ukip under the inexperienced leadership of Nuttall who has to date displayed absolutely no vestige of the required abilities to leqad Ukip anywhere!

Steven Woolfe quits Ukip saying poisonous atmosphere left party in a ‘death spiral’
9.18am: Suzanne Evans revealed she’ll run for leader
Former acting leader Suzanne Evans, who’s back after being suspended for “disloyalty”, was on TV this morning to launch her leadership bid.
She vowed to make the party less “toxic” and move it to the centre ground as she takes over from Nigel Farage and 18-day leader Diane James.
She told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show she came from a “working-class Labour” background.
When he replied “you were a Tory councillor!” she bizarrely replied: “I was a Tory councillor, exactly!”
9.20am: She immediately attacked her “far-right” rival
BBC BBC Suzanne Evans on The Andrew Marr Suzanne Evans was pulling no punches
Suzanne Evans laid into rival candidate Raheem Kassam, a controversial ex-Farage aide who runs the “alt right” Breitbart website and whose slogan is “Make Ukip Great Again”.
Asked if he was “far-right”, she said: “Yes. Absolutely.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt about that and I don’t think our members want that.”
She added: “Our future as a political party in Britain does not lie in that far-right wing.
“I don’t see a groundswell of opinion in this country for more far-right wing policies. I don’t see a groundswell of opinion for the right to bear arms in America.”
9.24am: And slagged off Ukip’s biggest donor
She said it Arron Banks “walked tomorrow Ukip could survive perfectly well” She disowned millionaire Ukip donor Arron Banks despite Ukip losing its London office in a financial pickle.
“I have been 100% assured that actually we are not doing nearly as badly as the headlines suggest,” she boasted.
“Arron Banks is by no means our major donor.
“If he walked tomorrow Ukip could survive perfectly well without him.”
Ukip’s three-time leader told ITV’s Peston on Sunday: “For her to talk about the party being toxic, for her to already declare one of the candidates who is running, Raheem Kassam, as being far-right, I don’t view this as being a very good start.
“I have to say they are the sort of things she said to me – after the general election she said to me I shouldn’t take any part at all in the referendum campaign, I was toxic, immigration shouldn’t be discussed with the British public.
“I think she has been in the wrong place ever since that.”
He added: “I won’t be voting for her, not after that, no.”
10.11am: And neither did Mr ‘Far Right’
Raheem Kassam sent out a fuming press release saying: “This is a project fear tactic and UKIPers are sick of these smears.”
He compared Ms Evans’ comments to Hillary Clinton describing Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables”.
And he even quoted Michelle Obama: “We’re going to rise above it. When she goes low, we go high.”
10.12am: Oh, also Farage had a go at this bloke
Farage won’t be giving Steven Woolfe a hand with any of his political issues in future
Farage also lashed out at his former protege Steven Woolfe , who quit the party last week following his bust up with fellow UKIP MEP Mike Hookem.
Before the bust-up, Woolfe had been a prime leadership candidate.
He said Woolfe was “a guy of talent but sometimes too much ambition gets the better of you.”
He added cattily: ” Steven Woolfe spoke of the downward spiral of UKIP – it was the downward spiral of Steven Woolfe”.
11.04am: And this guy warned Ukip may ‘fall off a cliff’
BBC Paul Nuttall launched his bid to lead the party he says could be annihilated
Former Ukip deputy Paul Nuttall announced his leadership bid – the second of the morning – on the BBC’s Sunday Politics.
He said: “I want to stand on a platform of being the unity candidate. Ukip needs to come together.
“I’m not going to be on here and gild the lily. Ukip at the moment is looking over the edge of a political cliff. It will either step off or it will step back and I want to be the candidate that will tell us to come backwards.
“Students of political history know political movements and political parties take a long time to get going and build, it’s taken us over 20 years, but they can disappear pretty quickly.
“Ukip is facing an existential crisis. What’s happened over the summer, we could be getting onto a spiral which we couldn’t get off.
“But I believe I am the man to bring the factions together, to create unity within the party, and to build and restructure and get us ready for the coming challenges.”
11.13am: Meanwhile, Ukip’s press chief asked the big questions
11.24am: And Mr ‘Far Right’ fought back
Sky News Raheem Kassam said not many right-wingers will vote for a bloke called Kassam
Raheem Kassam then went on Sky News and fought back at Suzanne Evans’ claims he’s from the “far right”.
He fumed: “When she does things like this it undermines her, it undermines her campaign and it’s an attack on lots of her party members.”
He admitted being friends with former EDL chief Tommy Robinson and backed dental checks on child refugees.
But he said: “How many members of the far right are going to join a party led by a chap called Raheem Kassam?”
UPDATE: 12.28pm: And accused his rival of a ‘personal tirade’
Mr Kassam sent all Westminster journalists a copy of a personal e-mail to Ms Evans.
“You embarked upon a personal tirade against me, calling me and my supporters – numbering in the high thousands – far right”, he moaned.
“I would hereby request that you cease referring to vast swathes of Ukip as far right and embark upon a positive campaign.”
I wonder when Arron Banks will finally wake up and smell the coffee and realise it is over, only to wander off with Nigel’s hand in his pocket to form The Grass Roots Party they keep dithering on the edge of as they wait for Nigel to either get his German Passport or be charged for fraud!

This is of course not provenance that he has lied on all counts but it is clearly provenance that he is sufficiently untrustworthy as to have brought Ukip, EU politics and the body politic into disrepute – not that I would claim that he is unique in that situation as all 3 are at an all time low as shown by the calibre of individuals who have floated to the top and reached positions of stature and responsibility in recent years and are quite clearlyacting beyond their wit or integrity!
