Hi,

Nigel Farage’s One-Man Show Is Being Outsold By An Elvis Tribute Act In Clacton

Fox News still loves the ‘Brexit leader’.

08/10/2017 17:54

Nigel Farage remains one of the UK’s most prominent politicians despite no longer being the leader of UKIP or winning in any of the seven occasions he has stood as an MP.

Many thought the MEP and Brexiteer’s future lay in the United States after Farage became the first overseas politician to meet Donald Trump after his election triumph.

And Farage, if you use his regular appearances on Fox News as a benchmark,  still seems to resonate on the other side of the Atlantic.

On Saturday, he appeared on the Murdoch-owned network in the aftermath of a car striking pedestrians outside the Natural History Museum in London, telling the broadcaster that officers were “clearly” treating it as a terrorist incident. It was not terrorism, and a backlash followed.

Beyond jumping to conclusions, however, many were struck by the billing Farage was given in the US.

Nigel Farage has the daunting job of ‘Brexit Leader’ according to Fox News

“Brexit leader”? He’s got no role. … And of course he’s doing what he’s doing best: spread hate, lies and general BS. https://twitter.com/foxnews/status/916682348573241344

It’s not the first time he’s been given the grandiose title of ‘Brexit leader’. From September:

Nigel captioned “Brexit leader”. Should someone tell Fox News there’s no such fucking thing, and even if there is it’s called Boris? https://twitter.com/mutazelnour/status/912572460796485632

While Farage was not involved with the official Vote Leave campaign (key figures believed he was too divisive, a charge he dismissed, he is seen as the public face of Brexit in the US and his profile is boosted still by his association with Trump’s former chief strategist and Breitbart chief, Steve Bannon.

Last month, Farage gave a speech in support of controversial judge Roy Moore in Alabama during a Republican Senate run-off.

Has his regular spot on dried up? Aw.

The regional broadcaster has suggested the Elvis Presley tribute act, A Vision of Elvis, has sold more tickets than the erstwhile Ukip frontman for their respective shows at the Prince’s Theatre in Clacton, Essex.

As of 5pm last night, @Nigel_Farage had sold 179 tickets. @PrincesTheatre capacity is 820 seats. The Elvis tribute has sold 201 tickets. https://twitter.com/BBCEssex/status/916181348007776256

As the Ukip MEP Godfrey Bloom pointed out, the problem might stem from the Farage show being £25 per head for an ‘An Evening with Nigel Farage’.

“I’m surprised anybody at all is prepared to pay £25 to listen to any politician,” Bloom told the broadcaster.

“I still do lots of after-dinner speaking and stuff, but if people are going to cough up 25, 30 or 40 quid they expect a three course meal to go with it.”

“£50 for two seats is too expensive to see any politician at a theatre, even @Nigel_Farage,” Godfrey Bloom tells BBC Essex

Another Ukip-er feared if the price was lower, and the event had been more publicised, there was the risk of “trolls” ambushing the event.

councillor Mary Newton says @Nigel_Farage may be concerned about “trolls” gatecrashing his appearance at ‘s @PrincesTheatre

It’s a fair point. In 2013, Farage was barricaded by police in an Edinburgh pub after his visit to Scotland was hijacked by pro-independence supporters.

According to BBC Essex, Farage is expecting to sell hundreds more tickets before the show, and the burst of publicity may well tip the balance against ‘A Vision of Elvis’.

It does look good, mind.

Nigel Farage to Speak in DC

LibertyNation.com brings BREXIT Leader

Firstly Farage is not nor has he ever been so called ‘BreXit Leader’ – he was refused any part of the official Leave Campaign as it was widely believed he was damaging to the cause!
Let us remember he colluded with the criminal John Ison who was involved with Farage & carried out a series of thefts & editing of material to provide false evidence to try to have Nikki Sinclaire, who if anyone can be called the ‘Leader of BreXit’ it is she!

Nikki Sinclaire set out single handedly and using her own money to build a team who obtained a valid petition of 200,000+ signatures from members of the electorate that when presented at Downing Street forced the Government’s hand to hold a full debate of the issue of Leaving_The_EU which led to the largest revolt Cameron as PM had had in Parliament and the undertaking that an IN/OUT Referendum would be held.

You will be pleased to cnow the Police prosecution which Farage had colluded in with the criminal John Ison was shown to be a pack of lies which it does seem the Police & CPS colluded in either utterly corruptly for the Government of the day or as a result of complete incompetence it is hard to say – though there are many ‘coincidences’ which I find would indicate the former rather than the latter!

Not least of which is the failure of the police to prosecute John Ison and even possibly Farage based on the crimes John Ison admitted to in Court, further the Police have on various items outright lied to Nikki Sinclaire & her legal team, in efforts to cover their tracks and also the fact that neither the Police nor the CPS have either appologised nor have they offered any compensation for the damage done to Nikki Sinclaire nor for the destruction of her career!

Farage clearly was no ‘BreXit Leader’ in fact he did a great deal to try to prevent the public vote for BreXit besides his divisive nature!

to Washington to Speak on Trump Presidency and Populist Revolution

Oct 09, 2017, 06:15 ET

WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ —

The so-called Donald Trump of Britain, Nigel Farage, is set to speak on Thursday, October 12 at 8 PM at the Georgetown Marriott located at 1221 22nd St NW, Washington, DC.

Pray tell: By who is Farage known as ‘The Donald Trump of Britain’ beyond his shaving mirror & his own publicity?

As leader of the UK Independence Party

Farage is no longer Leader of the UK Independence Part – he stood down a year ago & due to his failure as a leader & lack of leadership skill the ‘Cult’ he had built has all but collapsed and is already on its 6th leader since he quit! A mere 12,000 members could even be bothered to vote in the last election, which many claim was, like so many other Ukip internal elections, rigged; as the clear front runner was an extreme Islamaphobe & seen by much of the media as an outspoken racist!

and longtime member of Parliament,

Farage has stood & campaigned 8 times to be a Member of Parliament and has never been elected to the British Parliament. He has however placed himself as top of the list in the safest Ukip region & become one of several members of the largely irrelevant EU Parliament based on a list vote!

Farage stoked the Trump-like populist revolt which resulted in the dramatic, game-changing withdrawal of Britain from the European Union.

It is true that like Trump Farage did much to scrape the bottom of the barrel and play on fear & what was widely seen as overt racism to mobilise support for his ‘cult’ – in much the same way as has Macron in France, the AfD in Germany, Corbyn in the UK Labour party, Le Penn in France’s National Party and others seeking personal power and glory at any cost – argueably in a style not too dissimilar to Cuba and Chavez in Venezuela!

The Brexit uprising against the established order has already changed the face of Britain, the EU, and the US.

Schedule of events: 7 PM open bar reception – West End Lounge

8 PM Nigel Farage Speaks followed by open Q & A – Metropolitan Galleries 1-2

Hi,

I gather this is just a part of the financial chaos Ukip is in with a number of its people claiming not to have been paid since June as the EU is demanding back money that was perloined from the tax payers, even Annabelle Fuller is bleating on Twitter, whether in her own name or one of her various aliases I didn’t bother checking as Ukip is becoming more of an irrelevance daily.

Ukip’s only allegedly consequential backer Arron Banks is reported in the media as lacking in income with sources drying up, it seems and Farage’s contacts who funded him seem to have left him dependent on his ureliable income as an entertainer on LBC.

Although I will post details of consequence regarding Ukip they have become something of an irrelevance, hence the slowdown of postings. It does rather look as if it is likely that having lost so many sources of income an article shortly may well announce that Ukip is in that legally parlous state of trading when knowingly bankrupt!

United Kingdom Independence Party Ukip loses access to multimillion EU funding scheme

Failure of anti- Brussels group to register follows series of scandals

Nigel, this is no laughing matter.

Nigel Farage, Ukip MEP and former leader, has been hit by the failure to secure EU funds

by Michael Acton in Brussels

The UK Independence party and its anti-EU allies in Brussels have lost access to their biggest source of European campaign funding following a series of scandals over alleged misuse and misappropriation of funds.

After becoming insolvent in April, the Ukip-dominated pan-European Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe (ADDE) has now missed a deadline to register for EU funding, losing access to as much as €1.5m in 2018 alone, according to officials involved in the process.

The apparent demise of the ADDE and the loss of the funding will add to Ukip’s woes and will be a headache for the party’s new leader, Henry Bolton, its fourth in a year.

Ukip is wrestling with a weaker financial position at home as well as demands from Brussels for the ADDE to repay €172,655 allegedly misspent on national electioneering. U

kip and its European allies have denied any wrongdoing. European political parties, made up of coalitions of national parties and parliamentarians, have since 2004 been able to draw on an annual €30m pot of EU grants that can cover up to 85 per cent of party expenditure, including campaign costs for European elections.

This helped bankroll Ukip electioneering, and in past years the ADDE has used this route to receive more than €1m annually.

Roger Helmer, a former Ukip MEP, described drawing on the fund as “liberating” money from the EU. But since November, the ADDE has been embroiled in probes over how its EU support was used.

A European Parliament-appointed auditor found that almost €500,000 was inappropriately spent on national opinion polling and election campaigns in the UK and Belgium. The parliament demanded the ADDE repay €172,655. The auditor also found that almost €34,000 of funding had been wrongly claimed by the Initiative for Direct Democracy in Europe (IDDE), the ADDE’s political foundation. The ADDE has denied any wrongdoing.

The IDDE no longer has an obvious online presence and couldn’t be reached for comment.

Tighter funding rules are squeezing the support available to fringe parties in Europe.

Last year the European Parliament imposed conditions requiring applicants to have guarantees from a bank with an A1 credit rating, something the ADDE has been unable to secure. In March of this year, the party’s executive director Yasmine Dehaene resigned.

Other ADDE members include the Belgian People’s party, the Czech Party of Free Citizens, France’s Debout la France, Lithuania’s Order and Justice party, and the Swedish Democrats. All members will be cut off from EU funds.

Mischael Modrikamen, head of the Belgian People’s party, said the ADDE’s decline was a result of a politically motivated campaign against Eurosceptic groups. “There is a trend in the EU right now with a clear aim to defund all the parties that are opposed to the European project,” he said. “Since most of the ADDE’s funding comes from the EU budget, we were forced to put an end to activities. We decided we had no other choice than to appoint a liquidator.”

He said that some of the ADDE’s member parties may attempt to form a new party next year to regain access to funds. Eleven European political parties have successfully registered for the 2018 funding year, down from 16 in 2017.

It suggests the series of changes during the past three years have halted the proliferation of parties eligible for EU funding over the past decade, and have even started to reverse the trend.

The continuing controversy around party funding has highlighted wider questions about whether a top-down EU attempt to support and fund pan-European politics is realistic or desirable.

Pieter Cleppe, head of the Brussels office of think-tank Open Europe, said the rules were “opaque” and invited abuse. “Not only do people set up obscure schemes to obtain funds, it also enables the European Parliament to pick and choose who to go after, based on ideological preferences,” he said.

Then a few days later & playing catch-up:

Nigel, this is no laughing matter.
Nigel, this is no laughing matter. Photograph: Sebastien Bozon/AFP/Getty Images

Please brace yourself for the tragic news that Ukip has lost access to a major source of European Union campaign funding. Astonishingly, it involves a scandal over Ukip’s “misuse of money” and an element of Ukip incompetence.

It seems that the Ukip-dominated Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe (ADDE) became insolvent in April, after the EU parliament demanded that some funding be repaid after £500,000 was wrongly spent on EU referendum polling. ADDE has since missed the deadline to register for EU funding next year because it forgot to fill in the forms. Come on, we’ve all done it: it’s very easy to overlook such trifles as applying for funds that could total £1.5m.

Ukip still has access to loads-a-euros via Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy, of which Nigel Farage just happens, by sheer, crazy coincidence, to be president. However, does this adequately compensate for the human rights disaster of an anti-EU organisation not receiving EU funding because it was too thick and disorganised to apply on time? My fellow countrymen and women: who will march with me about this – and where’s Crowdfunder when you need it?

Hi,

The EU Has Demanded Another Bill… This Time £80k From Nigel Farage

20 July 2017, 20:35

Nigel Farage Defends Himself Against Unexpected 80k EU Bill https://player.ooyala.com/iframe.html?ec=IxeGgwYzE6esKyOM62MHfgVTZ7FdFfgQ&platform=html5-priority&options%5Bautoplay%5D=true&pbid=cf5340d5856f480b8ddc5ddddeec458b&options%5Bcss%5D=&options%5Bliverail-ads-manager.LR_LAYOUT_LINEAR_PAUSEONCLICKTHRU%5D=1&options%5Bliverail-ads-manager.LR_AUTOPLAY%5D=1#amp=1

Nigel Farage Defends Himself Against Unexpected 80k EU Bill

The European Union has demanded another bill… and this time it’s £80,000 of Nigel Farage’s own money.

The MEP recently received a letter stamped by the European Parliament telling him he was being unexpectedly charged the mammoth amount.

It’s all over a quibble that one of Nigel’s staff who helps represent him as an MEP also held a post in Ukip at the same time.

Nigel FarageThe LBC presenter confirmed this was the case, but argued he had done nothing wrong as the staff member worked for Ukip on a voluntary basis.

“But they’re not happy with that,” Nigel said.

“So without any meeting. Without any request to me to provide evidence. Without any formal procedure of any kind at all, the letter tells me they’re going to take £80,000 from me.”

He continued: “And it’s now my job to prove my innocence and so what we’re actually dealing with here, these unelected people are behaving frankly like people back in Stalin’s day did.”

To view the original article CLICK HERE

The comments of Ukip its spokesmen & on LBC are of course, as ever, totally dishonest or at best deliberately misleading when you consider the following:

Perhaps someone can explain why Nikki Sinclair was dishonestly prosecuted and persecuted by British Police, seeking a custodial sentence over an alleged sum of about £3,000 mis-spent based on evidence dishonestly and criminally concocted by John Ison in apparent collusion with Nigel Farage, as boasted of in Court by John Ison!

The case against Nikki Sinclaire totally collapsed and was shown to be utter rubbish based on the lies & criminality of John Ison & the attrocious incompetence & collusion in the crtiminality of Ison & seemingly Farage, of the British Police & CPS – at an estimated cost of £1.5Million!

I understand that just over a week ago ONE YEAR after Nikki Sinclaire was totally exhonerated without any compensation or damages for the Police & CPS collusion in her quite deliberate and undeniably criminal persecution, a formal complaint has been instigated!

EXTRACT OF A POSTING OF 01-Feb-2017 on this web site!:

A UKIP politician has denied smoking recreational drugs in a Cardiff hotel – but was forced to pay £250 to get it cleaned. Michelle Brown, a Welsh …

Then of course there was the press article on 01-Feb playing catch-up with the information this web site published last year!:

This is the Ukip data extracted from a MSM article published in fuller form above but worthy of repeat as you can be assured when the order is eventually made by the EU Ukip will claim it is untrue / a mistake / a misunderstanding / victimisation / a surprise / unfair or all of these – yet leading names, including Farage, in Ukip both colluded and/or directly benefitted in the money embezzeled by Ukip MEP Tom Wise who was jailed for 2 years for his fraud, theft & embezzelment of tax payers’ money.

You may well remember Tom Wise gave Nigel Farage several £1,000s of the money he had stolen AFTER it was public knowledge he had stolen the money! Farage spent the money settling an undertaking made to me that he paid Lindsey Jenkins for the right to claim sponsorship of one of her books – a payment he made to appear more of a politician of gravitas and responsibility, more than we who know him are well aware that he is as a glib incompetent deceitfull motormouth!

Also you will remember Tom Wise spent some £8,000 of the tax payers’ m,oney he had stolen trying to silence the truth by endeavouring to bankrupt me! Just as have Ukip, Gerard Batten and Mark Croucher, fortunately I have always had the very sound defence of ‘veritas’ on my side – as I have ALWAYS sought to publish the truth and have NEVER set out to dishonestly or deliberately lie or mislead on ANY comment I have made and have always stated I am willing to immediately correct any error I may make with the relevant appology be that in copyright or accuracy terms.

Whilst on the subject of Justice perhaps someone can also explain to me why Nikki Sinclaire was prosecuted at a cost to the tax payers of around £1.5M, with the intent/possibility of a custodial sentence, over £3K and Tom Wise was sent to prison for 2 years over the sum of arouind £25K he was ordered to repay of the total he perloined! Yet the police OLAF the EU the BBC, Times, Telegraph and other MSM have been well aware that having used tax payers’ money for their own benefit to the tune of some £11,000 by Ukip MEP Nigel Farage & Ukip MEPJeffrey Titford, £3>5,000 by Ukip MEP Graham Booth, numerous £1,000s by Ukip MEPJanice Atkinson, between £50>100,000 by Ukip MEP Derek Clarke and no doubt others who used tax payers’ money for gain some merely paid the money back when caught some paid a part back.

Why is there not a level playing field in matters of Justice – considering the sums involved Farage, Titford, Booth, Atkinson, Clarke and no doubt others should have been prosecuted and sent to prison – why has Justice been deliberately corrupted by the police and CPS?

When will John Ison be prosecuted for the criminality he openly boasted of in Court and even Nigel Farage who was implicated re the efforts to dishonestly and malliciously stitch up Nikki Sinclaire?

As Nikki Sinclaire pointed out on the floor in the EU so called Parliament chamber Nigel Farage funds both his wife & his sometime mistress Annabelle Fuller as staff from the public purse see the following media article:

Farage ordered to repay £80k to EU

July 21st, 2017. \\ Politics. \\ Tags: UK, #Brexit.

British eurosceptic MEP Nigel Farage has been ordered to repay £80,000 to the European Parliament, it has been reported. The institution has objected to the fact that one of his staff, paid by the EU to assist him in his work as an MEP, is also working for UKIP, the party of which Farage was formerly leader. This is against the Parliament’s rules.

Whilst not denying the facts of the matter, Farage has defended his position by claiming that the staff member in question was working for the party “on a voluntary basis.”

“Without any formal procedure of any kind at all, the letter tells me they’re going to take £80,000 from me…. And it’s now my job to prove my innocence and so what we’re actually dealing with here, these unelected people are behaving frankly like people back in Stalin’s day did.” he said.

This will not the first time that money has been reclaimed from UKIP MEPs by the European Parliament for such a breach of the rules.

The employment of party officials through the members assistance allowance is in fact a very common practice amongst MEPs of all nationalities: Marine Le Pen has also been caught out recently, and UKIP is certainly not the only British party to have done this.

There are other ways in which EU funded staff can be deployed to other purposes. During the 2004-2009 legislature, the Independence & Democracy Group, of which Farage was co-President, was found to be employing staff, and even providing office facilities, to a privately owned media company – the principle of that company being the wife of Farage’s fellow co-President at the time, Jens Peter Bonde.

In March 2014, then MEP Nikki Sinclaire caused uproar in the Parliament when she accused Farage of employing both his wife and his former mistress out of his European Parliament allowances.

Employing one’s spouse was, at the time, both widespread and legal. Now it is a banned practice. However, as is often the case in the EU institutions, when one loophole closes another opens up, and at the beginning of the current legislature Farage’s wife was found to be employed by a fellow UKIP MEP, one Raymond Finch. During the 2009-2014 legislature, Finch himself had been employed by…… Nigel Farage!

Why haven’t Gerard Batten, the Police, CPS, the judge and various lawyers been prosecuted for what was described in Court Documents (March 2011) as ‘Criminal Conspiracy to pervert the course  of Justice (against Jasna Badzak)’.

I will provide a copy of the official summary of the Court document shortly and complete this article at that stage – but right now I’m off to deal with other commitments whilst the sun shines 😉 I may even re-read this article and correct my typos (fat finger syndrome) !!!!!!!!!

I’m back, here is the relevant .pdf:

BADZAK, Jasna REGINA vs Mar 2015 – 01
In conjunction with CPS-LETTER Sep-2015 – 01

Clearly the Courts, CPS & plaintiffs accepted that the contentions made in Jasna Badzak’s defence submission were substantially correct!

Here below is the MSM article of 01-Feb-2017 posted on this website at the time:

Nigel Farage among Ukip MEPs accused of misusing EU funds

Eight Ukip MEPs including Paul Nuttall may be forced to repay £500,000 if they are found to have breached EU funding rules

Nigel Farage, Paul Nuttall and six other Ukip MEPs are under investigation by the European parliament for alleged misuse of funds, which could lead to repayment demands totalling £500,000.

Financial controllers are looking into eight of Ukip’s 20 MEPs, who are suspected of having broken rules that ban full-time EU-funded parliamentary assistants from working for the national party.

It is understood that Farage and his fellow Ukip MEP Raymond Finch will be asked to repay around £84,000 paid to their joint assistant, Christopher Adams, who is also Ukip’s national nominating officer. Adams is described as one of the party’s “key people” on its website. Parliament officials have suspended Adams’s contract because they are not convinced he was working as an MEP assistant.

Under EU rules, full-time MEP assistants are not allowed to do paid work for a national political party; part-time assistants need to have second jobs, paid and voluntary, vetted by European parliament authorities to prevent a conflict of interest.

Financial controllers are investigating the work of several other MEP assistants, where they suspect a conflict of interest between their EU-paid job and national party role. It is understood three of the assistants worked for Nuttall, who is vying to become Ukip’s second MP in Westminster in the Stoke-on-Trent Central byelection later this month.

Each of the European parliament’s 751 MEPs is entitled to €23,400 a month to pay for staff to run offices in Brussels and their home constituencies, plus a further €4,342 in office expenses. If Ukip MEPs had claimed the full allowance in 2016, the total sums involved would have been €7.3m.

Farage’s wife, Kirsten, is caught up in the investigation because she was paid as an MEP assistant while running her husband’s office for the national party.

Kirsten Farage was named as an assistant to Finch, who represents the party in the south-east of England. He has been asked to repay more than £20,000 over her employment because the European parliament’s financial controllers were not convinced she was doing real work as his assistant.

Finch employed Kirsten Farage in his constituency office to do secretarial work between 2014 and 2016. During the same period, she was full-time office manager for her husband, according to European parliament information.

Roger Helmer, a Conservative defector known for his controversial remarks on climate change and rape, faces a repayment bill of about £95,000 for employing the Ukip chairman, Paul Oakden, as his assistant. Oakden, who held the post of party director while working for Helmer, emerged into the spotlight last autumn as he sought to steady the party during the rocky period of the leadership contests to replace Farage.

One source estimated that Ukip MEPs could be asked to repay about £500,000 in EU funds if the party is shown to have broken the rules in each case currently under investigation. It is understood that the other MEPs being investigated are Jonathan Arnott, Louise Bours, James Carver and Margot Parker.

A Ukip spokesman rejected the allegations. “We have been here [as elected MEPs] since 1999 and have scrupulously applied the rules of the European parliament with very few problems. It would appear that post-Brexit there is an element of vindictiveness in the way in which the European parliament is behaving.

“We are appealing each and every one of the allegations that have been made.”

Helmer, who faces the largest bill known so far, said the parliament administration had “mistakenly” got the idea that Oakden worked for him full time. “So far as I am concerned there is no case to answer – merely an administrative misunderstanding to resolve.”

If MEPs refuse to repay misspent funds, parliament can withhold up to half their annual salaries (€79,332 a year after tax) and daily allowances (€52,104 a year), until the money has been recouped.

The European parliament’s financial controllers began the latest checks after a separate investigation revealed that a Ukip-dominated group in the institution had misspent more than €500,000 of EU money. The Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe, a Ukip-controlled pan-European party, was found to have spent EU funds on Nigel Farage’s failed attempt to win a seat in Westminster, flouting the ban on using European money for national campaigns.

Parliament is considering extending its investigation to the 2009-14 legislature, when Ukip had 13 MEPs. The current inquiry covers the current parliament, elected in June 2014.

Ukip is not the only party accused of misspending EU money to fund its national activities. The leader of France’s far-right Front National, Marine Le Pen, was last year ordered to repay €339,000, after the EU’s anti-fraud office, Olaf, found she had misused EU funds following a European parliament inquiry. The French presidential hopeful had received EU funds to pay the salaries of two assistants, but the anti-fraud watchdog said the pair worked almost entirely for the national party.

The FN leader missed a deadline at midnight on Tuesday to repay the money and now faces losing half her salary and allowance. Le Pen has denied allegations of fraud and says she will not “submit to persecution” by repaying the money.

The European parliament has played a vital role in Ukip’s political success, giving the Eurosceptic party a platform and funding it has never matched on the domestic stage.

A spokesperson for the European parliament declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. Olaf referred questions back to the European parliament.

Nicholas Aiossa, a campaigner at Transparency International, said the Ukip case may need to be referred to the EU anti-fraud office. “Recovery of these funds is essential, but the parliament needs to take a harder look at whether MEPs have been intentionally engaging in fraudulent activities and if so they should refer these cases to Olaf.”

Hi,

Farage – One Step Nearer The Slammer

Yesterday’s events Stateside may soon be causing ripples on this side of the North Atlantic, such is the involvement with several politicians, pundits and other sundry hangers-on with the Trump Gang. And one of those politicians now wondering if spending time in the USA might not be the good idea they once thought it to be is former UKIP Oberscheissenführer Nigel “Thirsty” Farage.

Squeaky indictment finger up the bum time

Farage had made great play of his wish to relocate to the States, claiming that he received so much hassle here in the UK, although this was probably code for “insufficient fawning adoration”. After Combover Crybaby Donald Trump’s idiot son Donald Junior admitted he and two other key Trump campaign figures had knowingly met with a Russian state-linked lawyer to get dirt on Hillary Clinton, the vultures are starting to circle.

Words like “Collusion” and even “Treason” are being openly used across the US media, and indeed on Capitol Hill. High ranking GOP representatives are beginning to break ranks. And all the while, the closeness of Mr Thirsty to this crowd is being pored over, especially by the likes of Carole Cadwalladr at the Observer, who was dismissed rather too eagerly as a “Tinfoil hatted journalist” by the Guido Fawkes rabble.

Since then, Zelo Street has pieced together more of the jigsaw, including the presence of several of the key figures in the list of “Golden Dolphin” awards made by the now-moribund Young Britons’ Foundation. Meanwhile, those in the Farage inner circle have become jumpy enough for one of them to suggest legal action to throw Ms Cadwalladr off the scent. We appear to be getting closer to Mr Thirsty’s personal endgame.

Ms Cadwalladr Tweeted yesterday “What *is* the story here? New photo of Farage emerges. With “Putin’s favourite congressman” & associate of Paul Manafort – @DanaRohrabacher”. A photo showed Farage and Rohrbacher on a fishing trip. Then she followed up with “Reminder of who @DonaldJTrumpJr forwarded that exciting email about the meeting with the Russians to”. Paul Manafort. Associate of Rohrbacher.
Then came the first giveaway: Arron Banks responded to one of Ms Cadwalladr’s Tweets, despite not having been tagged in it. “You are a person of interest to no one, Carole” he sneered, but despite there being no alleged interest, he tagged Andy Wigmore to be on the safe side. Wigmore deflected: “It’s pure fantasy”. Don’t worry. Look over there.

However, and here we encounter a potentially game changing however, Liz Bilney, who is the CEO of Leave EU, then leapt into the Twitter exchange – once again, without being tagged. “I’m interested to see if there’s a defamation claim … I will be looking very closely at @carolecadwalla” she warned. That really is a serious giveaway.
Carole Cadwalladr did no more than post a Tweet including a photo, and ask a question about it. Suddenly, Arron Banks is ostentatiously waving it away, and the Leave EU CEO is suggesting she’s going to get Lawyered up. But over what?
The thought enters that Nigel Farage could be in serious trouble – remember, he has not only the Trump connection, but the Assange one as well – and that those around him know the house may be about to fall in on them. More on this one later.

On the first anniversary of Britain’s vote to leave the EU, Nigel Farage put on his Union Jack shoes to attend a party at a stately home near Bristol. The owner of the house, Old Down Manor, is Arron Banks, a 51-year-old insurance entrepreneur who has emerged as Britain’s most prominent political donor, claiming that he invested nearly £9m in the run-up to the Brexit vote.

His guests drank champagne and cheered a replay of the television coverage of referendum night.

One Ukipper called him “King Arron”, while copies of his book The Bad Boys of Brexit were laid at each table setting. Mr Banks has promised to continue to shake up British politics, but a year after the vote, the extent of his wealth and his political intentions is unclear.

Even Old Down Manor is not all that might seem. It is not Mr Banks’ home; he runs it as a wedding venue, living in a modest farmhouse nearby. Old Down Manor Ltd, the holding company, had net liabilities in the most recent set of annual accounts available.

In 2015, Mr Banks told the FT that he was worth around £100m. This year he appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List for the first time, with an estimated net worth of £250m — much of it riding on the then expected planned flotation of Eldon, one of his insurance companies. But public filings covering Mr Banks’ business interests show the use of a range of accounting techniques that mask the value of his investments.

He is a shareholder in at least 20 UK registered companies according to Orbis, a company database. Almost all of their parent companies are offshore in the Isle of Man, Gibraltar and the British Virgin Islands, affording them privacy.

His interests worldwide include insurance, banking, diamond mining and political consultancy. “I started my business with a desk and two phones, and built it from nothing. I earned and created every penny I made,” he said earlier this year.

Mr Banks built Group Direct, a motor insurer, from a small office above a bakery in Thornbury, Gloucestershire. In 2008, this business reversed into Brightside Group, which was listed on London’s Alternative Investment Market.

Mr. Banks and his wife say they made £10m from selling their shares in Brightside. He left in 2012, after a quarrel with his cofounders and two years after that, the  company was sold to AnaCap, the private equity group, and became heavily lossmaking.

AnaCap has since sued its auditors, alleging “serious and widespread” failings at Brightside, including during Mr Banks’ tenure, though he is not a target of the suit.

In 2010 and 2011, Brightside paid Southern Rock Insurance — the Gibraltarbased underwriter in which Mr Banks is a major shareholder — £17m for a software platform and £32.4m for rights to distribute and sell motor insurance. But despite these sales, Southern Rock lost nearly £9m that year and by 2011 it was technically insolvent, without enough reserves to cover potential payouts.

The Gibraltar financial regulator ordered its directors to recapitalise the company. In the following years Mr Banks and his co-shareholders pumped money into Southern Rock and accepted a “period of ban or self-exclusion from other insurance directorships”. Mr Banks resigned as director of Eldon Insurance in Sept 2013 and Southern Rock in 2014.

Business remained difficult. Between 2010 and 2015, Southern Rock made multimillion losses on its core business in four of the six years.

In 2015, the most recent accounts available, Southern Rock posted a loss of nearly £28m on its core business. But it turned an overall profit by selling policy renewal rights for £73m to ICS Risk Solutions, an Isle of Man company that is majority owned by Mr Banks.

This allowed Southern Rock to book upfront profits from future earnings. I started my business with a desk and two phones, and built it from nothing. I earned and created every penny I made Mr Banks told the FT that Southern Rock was a “profitable, sustainable business in good standing” and that its finances could not easily be compared with other underwriting businesses because it also sold financial products.

Southern Rock had sold policy rights in order to meet solvency rules, he added. In the UK, Mr Banks’ insurance group’s main businesses — Eldon Insurance and Rock Services — work closely with Southern Rock, as extensive related-party disclosures show.

A page from Rock Services Ltd’s 2015 accounts showing ‘related party’ disclosures Eldon operates the motor insurance brand GoSkippy, and prominently advertises on the website of Leave.EU, Mr Banks’ pro- Brexit campaign group.

The company’s profitability is difficult to assess because of its high administrative expenses, which closely track turnover.

In 2015, it achieved a profit of just £284,000 on a turnover of £33.6m while paying £33.4m in administrative expenses. It received a £3,000 UK tax credit.

A page from Eldon’s 2015 accounts.

The company’s profitability is difficult to assess because of its high administrative expenses, which closely track turnover In the same year, it sold £25.7m of services to Southern Rock Insurance in Gibraltar and bought £27.5m of services from Rock Services, a UK company, of which Mr Banks is a director.

Through his lawyers, Mr Banks said a £250m valuation of Eldon Insurance was “speculative”, but that it could be justified because Eldon’s earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation were forecast internally to rise to £20m.

He also said that there were no plans to float Eldon Insurance Services, although he subsequently told the FT that a flotation could take place “maybe next year”.

The FT has contacted Mr Banks’ holding companies in the Isle of Man, to obtain its annual accounts, but had not had a response at the time of publication.

Mr Banks has diversified his holdings. Over the years he built stakes in an offshore bank, a provider of trustees to high net worth individuals, and — through Southern Rock Insurance — even uranium mining in Niger.

More recently, he has taken shares in a sports consultancy. His charity, Love Saves the Day, claims to provide grants in the Commonwealth including Lesotho and Belize. Established in 2014, and registered with the Charity Commission in June 2014, its most recent accounts — which cover the period to May 2016 — show no income received and no grants made.

One of the charity’s founding trustees was suspended in March this year by the UK’s solicitor regulation authority for one year, for in effect facilitating money laundering into Belize by a third party. “When it was brought to our attention she was being investigated in the UK we stopped using her”, a spokesman for Mr Banks said, adding that Mr Banks made a lot of donations personally outside of the charity “depending on the request”.

Arron Banks provided money to Leave.EU in the form of a £6m loan, he says to avoid inheritance tax © AFP

It is also unclear how much Mr Banks actually spent on Brexit. He provided money to Leave.EU in the form a £6m loan — he says to avoid inheritance tax. Leave.EU’s first annual accounts, show that as of September 2016 that loan — which is due to be repaid at the end of this year — was still outstanding.

Meanwhile his Better for the Country Ltd — which donated nearly £2m to Grassroots Out — another Brexit campaign group — is owed £1.3m by related parties, and owes £2m to related parties.

This article has been amended to show that Eldon Insurance received a tax credit in 2015.

This article was sent to me as a .pdf – From The FT

There would seem to be many anomalies regarding Banks’ accounts, as have been shown repeatedly on this web site, as you will have noticed.

I am also interested in any information that anyone can supply regarding the financial background etc. of Robert William Parks who would seem to be an accountant or book keeper of some sort.

Also the actual ownership of:
53, Elysten St., Chelsea.

Any properties assetts and corporate info & banking data of:
Thorn In The Side Ltd.
SEEMINGLY involved in the purchase/ownership of properties in:
St. Troupe (or nearby)
& Tuscany.

With regard to property it would be of value to have the correct address & lease details of the property in Washington that it was announced Banks had leased for his and Farage’s use. Which of Banks’ companies actually pay the bills or are they paid from elsewhere! It would also be interesting to know if the FBI/CIA/NSA investigation had something to do with their now infrequent, if ever, visits to Washington. I gather the inquiries are largely concluded with interestintg material leading to the study of connections and relationships, hence the delay in any action!

How Julian Assange received the memory stick which it is understood contained private eMails of Hillary Clinton, and if that was the memory stick who obtained it and was it in fact supplied by Russian sources and who delivered it to him!

There is also interest in a Russian named Mogleivitch and if or what connections he may have with Banks, his Russian wife and/or Nigel Farage.

Similarly the connection with the art collector, yacht & commercial plane owner Dimitry Rybolovlev a Russian olygarch living in Monaco. His meeting(s) with members of Donald Trump’s team particularly in Dubrovnic are also of some interest

On that subject details of the relationship between Jarred Kushner, Dubrovnic & Rybolovlev would be of help.

Finally at this stage it would be of interest to know the details of the plea bargain of George Cottrell (see: https://ukip-vs-eukip.com/2017/06/07/george-cottrell-may-have-cut-a-deal-that-might-not-suit-nigel-farage/) we believe that the information he supplied MUST have been consequential as they saved him from 20 years in an American prison!

You may wish to consider also further details regarding the apparently parlous finances of Arron (sometimes Aron) Fraser Andrew BANKS – something of a roundup to 28-Feb-2017 CLICK HERE also see HERE & HERE

If you have any information on these issues it would be appreciated and will be treated as from confidential sources, for your safety, but as with all information I publish it will require provenance.

Many thanks to the veritable army of individuals and media who have supplied me with so much material, particularly as I would wish to ensure that BreXit was of British making and not in any way financed or puppet mastered by Putin, Russia or corruption – some of those involved and their associations with Ukip, Farage, Banks, Batten and the very dubious behaviour of both the Metropolitan and West Midlands Police would seem to leave much to be desired as far as I can so far ascertain!

Regards,

Greg_L-W.

Hi,

it would seem that the Entertainer Nigel Farage has found his role in life – I guess he will either be featuring in Pantomimes next or following in the footsteps of his agent’s other client Lester Piggott and winding up in Court never to be heard of in public again!

Here’s an idea for Peter Burrell he could give Farage a job entertaining the audience waiting for his hoped for RockNRollLegends venue – as they are likely to have a long wait, that is if he can ever raise the £Millions he wants to get it going!:

Kind of a dustbin for the careers of entertainers whether from sport or politics, after their careers are over!

“Representing Nigel Farage”

Nigel FarageUnlike most politicians, Nigel Farage had a successful career in business before he stood for office, working on the City metals exchange. He gave up that career not to feather his own nest, but to campaign for a cause he believed in, becoming a founding member of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) in the early 1990s, and its first ever election candidate in 1994.

UKIP was founded to campaign against Britain’s membership of the EU and restore its status as a free-standing, self-governing democracy with an independent voice in the councils of the world. It was not a fashionable cause among the elite politicians and privileged commentariat, but Nigel stuck by it faithfully.

In time, he built the party up from winning a handful of votes in its early days to coming first in the European elections of 2014. One year on, he achieved a record four million votes for the party at the General Election, defying all odds to make UKIP the third-largest political force in the country.

Nigel is widely recognised as the man whose relentless campaigning forced the ruling Conservative Party, which had been haemorrhaging votes to UKIP, to finally offer a referendum on EU membership before that General Election; a promise they were held to after winning a small and unexpected parliamentary majority.

More than that, Nigel is credited with having been the man who won over the blue-collar, working-class voters who carried the day for the Leave movement in that referendum, refusing to shy away from the issues of immigration and quality of life which the Labour Party and the growth-at-all-costs elites running the Conservative Party had long failed to acknowledge.

Described as “the most important British politician of the last decade and the most successful”, Nigel’s resignation has left a hole in the nation’s political fabric. Through skill, sheer determination and more than a little chutzpah, he has transformed UKIP into a permanent fixture of our democracy, achieved his lifetime’s ambition of an independent Britain, and rocked the political Establishment across an entire continent.

In so doing, Nigel has proven the exception to the the iron rule that “all political lives end in failure”, something which should come as no surprise for a man who has enjoyed a thoroughly exceptional career. The history of not just the United Kingdom but of Europe and the world is changed because of him, and his place within it is etched in stone.

Hi,

I wonder could the revelations George Cottrell used in his plea bargain explain more about why Nigel Farage & Aaron Banks have not exploited the opportunities available, with as much frequency or enthusiasm as one might have expected, as a result of having met Donald Trump, renting a house in Washington and becoming a correspondent for Fox News.

That George Cottrell’s plea bargain involved providing sensitive information, seemingly too sensitive for the judge to release yet adequate to have set aside TWENTY counts against him, including blackmail, which were dismissed as part of the plea deal with only one charge left standing.

That the likely sentence was reduced from 20 years to under 8 months, would likely indicate the revelations he made in his plea bargain were of no small consequence.

It does qive one pause for thought!

Former Farage aide gave US information in plea deal, court files show

Files do not spell out nature of information George Cottrell handed federal agents after his arrest on money-laundering charges

After Cottrell’s arrest, Nigel Farage called him a ‘22-year-old unpaid volunteer and party supporter’.

A former aide to Nigel Farage who was arrested on money-laundering charges last year gave US federal agents “information” as part of a plea agreement that sharply reduced his possible prison sentence from a maximum of 20 years to eight months, according to court documents.

George Cottrell, a Briton who was arrested in the US last summer after attending the Republican National Convention with Farage, the former Ukip leader, received a sentence that was on the low end of the sentencing guidelines used to determine such cases even though the Arizona prosecutors in his case said they had evidence that showed Cottrell had shown “clear intent” to engage in criminal activity in the past.

A court document filed by the prosecutors in February – which has not previously been reported in detail – advised the judge in the case to offer Cottrell a light prison sentence because he had been willing to “provide federal agents additional information after his arrest”.

Cottrell ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in a case that was unrelated to his work at Ukip. The crime was committed in 2014, before Cottrell worked for either the anti-EU party or Farage. Twenty other counts against him, including blackmail, were dismissed as part of the plea deal.

The nature of the information Cottrell provided to federal agents is not spelled out in the court documents. But the documents state that the 23-year-old, who is living in the UK, provided federal agents with “additional information about his role in the offence and how he became involved”. It also suggests he could be called to testify about his statements in the future and that additional information about the plea may be under seal and unavailable to the public.

Cottrell was reached by the Guardian but declined to comment on the information he provided or questions about his previous work for Farage and Ukip.

Under the terms of his agreement with prosecutors, Cottrell admitted to communicating with individuals online in 2014 who were seeking to launder illicit funds. He also admitted that he had explained methods to them that they could use to launder the money. The case involved a sting operation in which federal agents posed as drug dealers. Cottrell met the undercover agents in Las Vegas in 2014, according to the original indictment, but the charges in connection with that meeting were dropped.

Prosecutors said Cottrell also deserved leniency because he promptly agreed to plead guilty on the wire fraud charge and had accepted responsibility for his actions. They also noted that he did not have a criminal record. An attorney who represented Cottrell did not return calls for comment.

The dramatic arrest occurred at O’Hare airport in Chicago on 22 July, just as Cottrell, who was travelling with Farage, was leaving the US for the UK after attending the Republican National Convention in Ohio.

His mobile phone and laptop were seized after the arrest.

Cottrell had been working in Farage’s office and claimed on his LinkedIn account to have co-directed Ukip’s EU referendum campaign fundraising.

Media accounts at the time described Cottrell as a familiar face on Farage’s campaign bus ahead of the EU referendum.

After the arrest, Farage called Cottrell a “22-year-old unpaid volunteer and party supporter” and said he knew nothing of the “series of allegations” that had been lodged against him.

According to court records that delved into the 2014 episode, Cottrell offered to help the undercover agents – who were posing as drug dealers – to disguise their drug profits and evade federal taxes. Prosecutors also alleged that Cottrell claimed to have contacts at banks that he could use to funnel illicit money to offshore accounts and then transfer them back to domestic accounts disguised as legitimate business income. Prosecutors said in court documents that the agents were “impressed with his knowledge of finance, US government procedures, and anti-money-laundering laws”.

He was released from prison in March after agreeing the plea deal and was deported from the US, according to court records.

Several photographs published by media outlets after the arrest in July, when Cottrell’s story was front page news in the British press, showed that Cottrell had enjoyed a personal relationship with Farage and the Ukip donor Arron Banks. In his book about the Brexit campaign, Banks called Cottrell, the nephew of Lord Hesketh, a former Tory minister who defected to Ukip, “Posh George”.

“Posh to the point of caricature and wilfully abrasive, but extremely generous when it comes to picking up the bar tab,” Banks wrote.

At the time of his final court appearance in March, the judge in his case, Diane Humetewa, described Cottrell as having lived a “very privileged life”.

Twenty counts against Cottrell were dropped in the plea deal, including a conspiracy charge. Under the new charge, Humetewa said Cottrell was facing a possible sentence of eight to 14 months. She accepted prosecutors’ recommendation of the lowest possible sentence.

Cottrell, who apologised for wrongdoing, suggested he had turned to crime after suffering from a multimillion-dollar gambling addiction that had caused him to be disinherited. His attorney, Michael Kimerer, described the fraud as a single aberrant, abnormal and huge mistake, and said Cottrell had been a law-abiding citizen since that period in 2014, and that he had become involved in politics, which he enjoyed.

The prosecutor in the case, James Knapp, said of Cottrell’s guilty plea: “We do see this as being a significant crime in that the dark web can be a hotbed of criminal activity, and, you know, the use of anonymity and encryption and all of that makes it very difficult to catch people.”

He added: “But, on the other hand, we fully recognise that there are some mitigating circumstances in this defendant, and we wish him the best of luck in the future and hope that we never see him again in this context.”

The final plea concluded that investigators were ultimately unable to confirm whether Cottrell really was a professional money launderer who had committed crimes before the one to which he pleaded guilty, but that he had the experience given previous work in the financial industry, and the “predisposition”, given his use of dark web marketing, to commit crime.

Cottrell’s LinkedIn account reveals that he has experience in the financial sector. He includes being a “federal inmate” on his LinkedIn resume, as well as working as a consultant at an unnamed private intelligence agency serving government and corporate clients. He allegedly worked for the intelligence firm from October 2014 to July 2016, while also working for Ukip from January 2016 until his arrest.

He also claims to have worked as a private client manager at an unnamed bank, specialised in “onboarding” wealthy clients and assisting in the implementation of “leading edge tax solutions within multiple jurisdictions”. He also allegedly worked as a junior adviser at Cayman fund and as a board adviser for a “private family office” in London.

Hi,

“They Will Always Hate Me”

Nigel Farage loves giving interviews. But if you ask him about his connections to Russia and about the consequences of Brexit, he’ll put a stop to the conversation.

Lesen Sie diesen Artikel auf Deutsch.

Nigel Farage is sitting in a black leather armchair in his European Parliament office in Brussels. In front of him is a glass table, and next to him is a coffin. The casket, with a large euro sign stuck to the front, has been standing there next to his desk for years. The symbolism is impossible to miss. For the last 20 years, Farage has been fighting against the EU and against the euro. He would like to bury both – which is why he ran for European Parliament as a member of UKIP, his party.

Farage’s mission is to destroy the EU from within. He was the face of the Leave campaign, which ultimately led to the successful Brexit referendum last year. As head of UKIP, he was an instrumental public figure in convincing the British public to vote in favor of the country’s historic exit from the EU.

Along with David Cameron and Boris Johnson, Farage is one of the key initiators of Brexit. To demonstrate as much, he put on his United Kingdom socks for the day of our interview. The Union Jack is clearly visible between his suit pants and his shoes. “Proud. Ohh, I don’t know about proud.” But he does say at the beginning of the interview that he is amused by the incipient Brexit negotiations. The interview was organized by his press spokesman, who is also present.

ZEIT ONLINE: Mr. Farage, parliamentary elections are to be held in your homeland in just a few weeks. Why are you sitting here in Brussels in your British socks instead of helping out with the Brexit negotiations back home?

Nigel Farage: If the British government had asked me to help them in any way with Brexit, I would have done that. But of course, they wouldn’t. They will always hate me. They will always see me as an outsider. They will never forgive me for being successful. I don’t mind.

ZEIT ONLINE: What is your role here in European Parliament?

Farage: In some ways, I am one of the pan-European political figures there are here. I am well known in every European country. And actually, Euro-skeptic groups in some way see me as the grandfather of Euro-skepticism.

ZEIT ONLINE: You see yourself as pan-European? How can you fight against something that you yourself embody?

Farage: That’s ironic. I know.

ZEIT ONLINE: Since 1999, European Parliament has paid your salary as a representative. Why do you accept money from an institution that you want to destroy? How can I explain that to my eight-year-old daughter?

Farage: You tell your daughter that a wave of insanity overcame the political classes of Europe. Europe is not the EU. It’s not about a flag. It’s not about an anthem. It’s a totally false creation. I am working for a real Europe, one that does not attempt to take away from individual member states the nationality, the identity.

ZEIT ONLINE: You don’t look like you have lost your British identity.

Farage: We British are not allowed to have our own foreign policy. We are not allowed to have our own trade policy. This is not Europe. We have to break this down. Britain is just the start. The EU is dying. The whole project is finished. It’s dying, it’s dying.

ZEIT ONLINE: Do you still remember June 23, 2016, the day that Brexit was passed?

Farage: It was one of the best days of my life. Oh yes, in my career, it was the best day ever. After all these years of trying and after all these years of being lonely, it was a big day.

Farage is now in his element, saying things that he repeated hundreds of times during the Brexit campaign last summer. Prior to the campaign, Farage faced accusations that he had misused EU funds. According to a story in the Times, the EU paid almost 60,000 pounds to his personal bank account although some of the money had been earmarked for the upkeep of his parliamentary office not far from Littlehampton. That office, however, was in a house that Farage, as head of the UKIP party, had been allowed to use free of charge. After the Times reported on the inconsistencies, Farage threatened the paper with legal proceedings and levelled accusations against the journalists. He denied that he had done anything improper. As a result of the affair, it came out that Farage and other MEPs from UKIP had only begun filling out EU transparency reports, including for the reimbursement of office expenditures, in 2009.

ZEIT ONLINE: Who financed your Leave campaign?

Farage: Who financed the whole Remain campaign for over 50 years? The government.

ZEIT ONLINE: You didn’t answer the question.

Farage: Individuals. Individuals from the UK.

ZEIT ONLINE: And with money from Russia?

“It Was a Private Meeting with Assange”

Farage: No Russian money at all. That’s ridiculous. What you are talking about is conspiracy. I never received a penny from Russia. I wouldn’t have taken it, even if it had been offered. This campaign wasn’t about money. It was about messages, good clear messages.

ZEIT ONLINE: Have you ever received external money for your political work?

Farage: No, of course not.

ZEIT ONLINE: You never received any money for your appearances on Russia Today?

Farage: Which I do twice a year. Or three times last year. I am doing global media. I am talking to you as well.

ZEIT ONLINE: Why did you meet with Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London?

Farage stops for a moment to think. Following his visit to the Ecuadorian Embassy not long ago, he told reporters directly after his meeting with Assange that he could no longer remember what he had done in the embassy.

Farage: Oh, for journalistic reasons.

ZEIT ONLINE: What? Because you want to write a story about the WikiLeaks founder?

Farage: For journalistic reasons. I will not say anything more about that. But I did it for journalistic reasons, not for political reasons.

Nigel Farage in his office in the European Parliament © Steffen Dobbert

ZEIT ONLINE: What do you mean when you say, “journalistic reasons?”

Farage: I will not say anything more about that. If you look at what I do today, I used to do politics 100 hours a week. But now I do politics for 40 hours a week, so I have got a lot of time to do other things. I am a Fox News contributor. I am an LBC presenter. I write.

ZEIT ONLINE: You have transformed yourself from a politician to an entertainer?

Farage: Perhaps.

ZEIT ONLINE: Entertainers tend to be paid well for the job.

Farage: Yes, some people really get paid for it.

Farage’s press spokesman interrupts the interview. He says that the interview had actually been arranged to discuss trade relations between the EU and the UK. Neither he nor Farage, the spokesman says, want to talk about Farage’s connections to the WikiLeaks founder or to Russia. Last summer, the platform published emails from Hillary Clinton, an event which had a significant influence on the U.S. presidential campaign. Assange and WikiLeaks are suspected of having connections to hackers in Russia. Farage, for his part, is an acquaintance of Donald Trump’s and was the first politician to visit Trump following his election victory. Farage also has ties to Stephen Bannon, Trump’s campaign manager and the former head of the pseudo-journalistic website Breitbart.

ZEIT ONLINE: So you were sent by someone to speak to Julian Assange? What did you talk about?

Farage: It has nothing to do with you. It was a private meeting.

ZEIT ONLINE: You just said it was a journalistic meeting, for the public.

Farage: Of course.

ZEIT ONLINE: Are you going to publish an article soon about your connections to WikiLeaks and your meeting with Assange?

Farage: You will have to wait and see. I meet lots of people all over the world. I always help them.

“As a Political Operator, Putin Was the Best in the World”

ZEIT ONLINE: You once said you admire Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Farage: In 2013, as a political operator, he was the best in the world. Yes, this is what I said. But I wouldn’t like to live in his country. I didn’t like a lot of things he did. But as a political operator, he is to be admired.

ZEIT ONLINE: One of Russia’s foreign policy goals is dividing and weakening the EU. Could it be that in the case of Brexit, you were directly or indirectly used for this Russian goal?

Farage: It is obvious that the EU wants to expand to the east and threatens Russia. That’s completely mad.

ZEIT ONLINE: What you say isn’t true. It wasn’t the EU that triggered the revolution in Ukraine, but the Ukrainians who wanted better relations with the EU.

Farage: I want the EU to be destroyed and it doesn’t matter if God or the Dalai Lama wants it was well. The EU is an anti-democratic, failing structure. You know, you are the first person who has asked me if Russia supported me. Maybe you have a special German mindset. No other journalist in the world has asked these questions.

ZEIT ONLINE: I just want to understand your role.

Farage: We have no links to Russia.

ZEIT ONLINE: You didn’t meet with the Russian Embassy’s deputy chief-of-mission in London?

Farage: Nope.

ZEIT ONLINE: Not in 2013, before the Brexit campaign was conceived?

Farage: Ah, hang on. He came to the EP office. Or I met with him in London. So what?

ZEIT ONLINE: Why did you meet with him?

Farage: I think you are a nutcase! You are really a nutcase! Brexit is the best thing to happen: for Russia, for America, for Germany and for democracy. And that’s the key point.

Farage’s press spokesman again interrupts the interview. He says that the interview should focus more on trade relations between Germany and the UK. Farage nods.

ZEIT ONLINE: The United Kingdom’s economy, along with the economies of the remaining EU countries, will be weakened by Brexit.

Farage: What you are saying is complete rubbish. The idea that the EU is good for the economy is absolutely rubbish. The EU is a failing model.

ZEIT ONLINE: Since when have you been convinced of this fallacy?

Farage: Since 1990. Back then, I decided that the whole thing is nonsense. It will never work. It took a while, but now we have left. And we are the first ones. Others will leave as well.

ZEIT ONLINE: Who?

Farage: We will have to see. Greece. But it could be Denmark or Sweden. We will see.

“You Should Be on a Comedy Show”

ZEIT ONLINE: Greece had that option during the financial crisis, but decided against it. Now that Brexit has come to pass, what are you actually? Are you a journalist or a politician? What is your role?

Farage: Changing public opinion. That’s what I have been doing for 20 years. Using television, media. Shifting public opinion. That’s what I am good at.

ZEIT ONLINE: And that’s why you had to meet with Julian Assange?

Farage looks to his press spokesman and pauses again.

Farage: That, that is a different angle in this.

ZEIT ONLINE: It’s an angle that I want to understand.

Farage: Well, you will not get it. I went to meet him very briefly. We talked about a lot of things.

ZEIT ONLINE: But you didn’t want to be seen going into or out of the embassy? Your visit was only publicized because somebody took a picture of you.

Farage’s press spokesman interrupts the interview for a third time. He says that Farage should talk about the economy of the United Kingdom. Farage picks up the phone to make a quick call before continuing to speak.

ZEIT ONLINE: You are a citizen of the United Kingdom?

Farage: Yes.

ZEIT ONLINE: In the event of a hard Brexit, you may not be able to work in Brussels or fly to Hamburg without a visa.

Farage: Before 1914, there were no passports at all. So what are you talking about? You obviously don’t know history, do you?

ZEIT ONLINE: Among the EU’s fundamental principles is the freedom of movement for goods, services, capital and people. Those who leave the EU risk losing these freedoms.

Farage: When I was elected in 1999, borders and immigrants weren’t even mentioned. Not once in my literature. Why? Because it wasn’t relevant.

ZEIT ONLINE: Yet Brexit could result in there being a new border in Europe.

Farage: You are away with the fairies. You must be mad. I have never heard anything so immature in all my life. Because of Brexit I will lose my option to travel to Hamburg? You should be on a comedy show, not be a journalist.

Farage’s press spokesman interrupts the parliamentarian for the fourth time. It’s too much, he says and indicates to Farage that he should put an end to the discussion. Farage stands up from his leather armchair and sits down at his desk. That’s it, he says, and looks at the papers lying in front of him. The interview is over and his press spokesman requests that the journalist leave the room.

Ukip’s finances have always lacked transparency and it has been believed by many that literally £Millions have been syphoned off into private accounts, for instance a sum of over 50% of the costs of Nigel Farage’s office expenses which ran to £100s of £1,000 was listed in one year as ‘sundry expenses’ yet although jhis office manager provided accounts to trial balance Nigel Farage paid an accountant to rejig the accounts – for that he paid £6,000!
Then there was the Ashford Call Center, described by Farage as Ukip’s most profitable fund raising exercise – yet less than 15% of the money raised ever reached Ukip’s bank account – at that time about £1/4 Million was paid into an Eastborne bank account and approximately the same amount was paid into one of Nigel Farage’s off shore bank accounts in the tax haven of The Isle of Man, into the account called ‘Farage Educational Trust’.
Nigel Farage, who you will recall, no doubt, worked at one time for a French Bank in London and also as a trader for Refco (where a large number of senior employees wound up in prison), he alsao ran his own business for a while as a Metals Trader – yet he lied to the media and said he didn’t realise that that account he had in the Isle of Mann was held in a tax haven! He also claimed never to have used it, I would call £1/4 Million fairly substantial use! That he considered it an insignificant amount in an insiognificant account gives pause for thought as to which of his accounts he considers significant and just how large a sum is significant!
It is also worth following the money trail behind his present sponsor and ascertainiong where his money comes from, a start to your research may well be found at:

.

Hi,

when you consider the High Court’s comments in the case below, perhaps we can understand why the case brought against Nikki Sinclaire was so utterly amateur and corrupt, it does seem as if there is endemic and institutionalised corruption in The West Midlands Policeforce and all too likely when you consider the murtder of Charles de Menenez and the rise of Cressida Dick who was in charge of that murder, and the clearly corrupt case against Jasna Badzak, and the dishonesty of Gerard Batten when he used the police to try to bqankrupt me with his lies – it seems it isn’t just The West Midlands Police!

Even earlier than these cases you would be astonished at not only howmuch evidence we had to supply to OLAF and The Bedfordshire Police before they finally condescended to charge the Ukip MEP Tom Wise and Lindsey Jenkins with embezzelling tax payers’ money from the EU purse.

Tom Wise had even paid his solicitor, from the stolen money in his account, to fund trying to use the law to silence me and if possible bankrupt me to prevent me continuing to expose the truth. Nigel Farage never was prosecuted for the stolen money he received from Tom Wise and also as Tom Wise finally admitted his part in the crime the charges against Lindsey Jenkins were not proceded with.

Despite having worked with Daniel Foggo and exposed the crime in the National Press the police took a very long time to act and it was only because I would not drop the matter that Bedford Police finally brought charges that led to Tom Wise being sentenced to 2 years in prison!

It does look all too much as if Ukip, the CPS and the police collude in corruption!

Let us not forget that in giving evidence against

Nikki Sinclaire, who organised, obtained and presented the peoples’ petition which obtained the IN/OUT EU Referendum to restore the fundamental human right of selfdetermination to the British peoples,

Ukip’s lakey John Ison admitted he not only fabricated evidence, but also stole from Sinclaire and was colluding with Nigel Farage in setting her up!

Perhaps even at this late date the West Midlands Police and the CPS, whose deputy director sat in on much of the case and seemed to have colluded in the efforts to stitch Sinclaire up, could show some integrity and explain why they failed to appologise to Sinclaire, when she won her case and they resoundingly lost on all counts, and also why they failed to prosecute John Ison and those with whom he colluded – minded that the Judge in the case cautioned John Ison as he was incriminating himself in open Court!

Consider not just how corrupt West Midlands Police have been shown to be in the case below but also what a foul mouthed bunch of low lifes they have shown themselves to be. Also this would seem to be endemic over many years for was it not the same force who fabricated evidence some years ago against ‘The Birmingham Six’ a case they never solved!

Consider also the lies and fabrications by the police, to try to dishonestly cover up corruption and incompetence, in the Hillsborough case. So we can go on: Consider the murder of the newspaper seller brutally attacked and killed on camera by a Metropolitan Police lout.

Consider these cases before you trust the police again, as it seems all too common!

This is just the latest well documented case:

West Midlands police unit accused of perjury and falsifying evidence

Counter-terror unit members described as ‘criminals who fabricate evidence’ in Old Bailey trial of terror suspects

A West Midlands police counter-terrorism unit has been accused in court of perjury, falsifying notebooks and hiding text messages related to the trial of a group of terror suspects who called themselves the “Three Musketeers”.

Simon Hussey, a senior officer in West Midlands police’s special projects team, began giving evidence at the Old Bailey trial of four men from the Midlands accused of plotting terror attacks in late April but his cross-examination was interrupted, and the personal and work phones of several officers involved in the case were seized by the police shortly afterwards.

Defence barrister Stephen Kamlish QC said the texts and call records exposed the unit as “criminals who fabricate evidence, who ensure that documents go to courts that aren’t true accounts” and that Hussey and his team had repeatedly discussed their evidence with one another during the trial, despite being under orders from the judge, Mr Justice Globe, not to discuss the case.

Giving evidence in April, Hussey told the judge he had no communication during the trial with “Vincent”, an undercover officer who posed as the boss of a fake courier company set up to gather intelligence on two of the defendants. Central to the defence case is the allegation that Vincent planted a bag containing a pipe-bomb, an air pistol and other items under the driver’s seat of the car of Naweed Ali, one of the defendants, where it was discovered by the security services and triggered a major security alert.

But the messages and phone logs revealed repeated contact between Vincent and Hussey, including a seven-minute phone call from Vincent immediately after he finished giving evidence on his first day. Hussey said he could not remember what they had discussed. They also travelled in a group from Birmingham to London during the trial and stayed in the same hotel until they were advised not to by the prosecution’s barristers.

“Yes we met, but the principle is we don’t discuss the case,” he said.

“That was a clear and blatant lie,” Kamlish responded.

In the runup to the trial, the officers met at Hilton Park service station on the M6 to revisit their witness statements. Kamlish said a service station was chosen to avoid being spotted. “This is your regular clandestine criminal meeting place, isn’t it, so that other people won’t see you there,” he said.

Hussey denied this. “The location was geographically suitable for them to meet,” he said. “I believe that the statements were sent for Andy and Hajji [a third undercover officer] so that they could refresh their memories prior to attending the court to give evidence so they could individually prepare for the case.”

Kamlish claimed Vincent had rewritten his notebook by hand after the four men were arrested to include references to seeing defendants with the bag in which the pipe-bomb and air pistol were found. This was a “very big lie at the heart of the case”, he said.

The week after the arrests, Hussey texted Vincent: “We have agreed with cookie [a senior officer] that you will write your pocket book for Pesage [the name of the operation], not type, hope that helps.” Kamlish said this revealed Vincent falsifying his notes.

Hussey denied this: “Prior to that text to Vincent there had been discussions with Vincent as to who should complete a typed copy of his written pocketbook. It is generally the case that operatives produce a typed copy of their written pocketbook … I said I would ask [another officer] who would produce the typed copy and he said his team would do that. So that text to Vincent tells him we’ve agreed that,” he said.

The text messages revealed a tight-knit group of officers: Vincent texted Hussey that he was preparing to give an “Oscar performance” on the witness stand, adding: “I won’t let you down … I would die first .”

Another undercover officer, referred to in court as Andy, retired shortly after the operation ended. Vincent texted him: “So you wanker … U leave me with a load of fucking wet wiped nob heads who don’t know how to put a job together wipe arses or cover tracks … Wanker …. Miss you.”

Hussey told the jury: “We’re close as colleagues, yes.”

The evidence is part of a 10-week trial of Naweed Ali, 29 and Khobaib Hussain, neighbours from Birmingham, and Mohibur Rahman, 32 and Tahir Aziz, 28 of Stoke-on-Trent, on charges of preparing terrorist acts between May and August 2016. All four men deny the charges.

The men were arrested in August 2016 during a major security alert after the bag containing the pipe bomb – which was later found to be non-viable – and the other weapons was found.

The case continues.

From the Hillsborough Inquest to Plebgate, from the revelations about undercover officers to the shooting of Mark Duggan, the last few years have been as controversial as any in the history of British policing. The government has introduced a range of new measures to try and make the police service more accountable.
These have included the strengthening of the Independent Police Complaints Commission, measures to crack down on officers retiring when under investigation, and a new openness surrounding police disciplinary hearings. But have these new ideas really worked or is there, as some claim, real resistance to accountability?
How effective are attempts to crack down on police misconduct? Mark Gregory reports.
