UKIP gets a somewhat dubious result in The FoD!
It is hard to see how the achievement of 16% of the electorate voting a man with Alan Preest’s track record onto even a council as irrelevant as he has gained can help UKIP!
Surely UKIP should seek to improve its record of honesty at all cost, not link its reputation with such a man for so paltry and insignificant a post!

Hi,
it seems that despite a relatively high profile PPC in The FoD and the long term home of UKIP’s full time umbrella salesman who has for many years held a well paid UKIP job the best they seem to have managed is a largely irrelevant TOWN councillor!
To be fair Alan Preest obtained a VERY good percentage, with 74% of the 22% who turned out to vote giving 16% of the electorate (which would tend to reflect the irrelevance of town & parish councils where frequently for lack of interest town clerks tend to try to fill the seats by co-option).
The result was even more interesting when you note Alan Preest had been a
COUNTY councillor but was seemingly forced out over controversy and would seem to have been forced to resign from The
Tory Party due to his inability to clear his name as a common thief.
Of course he fits right in with a certain sector of UKIP leadership and its odious and dishonest claque.
HOW can UKIP be taken seriously if time and time again it opts to aid and promote liars, cheats, thieves and low calliber wannabes?

With both sites carrying a piece from a MEP staffer do they write for them or are the articles pillaged?
I think we should be told
Firstly since when are Junius blog and those who post to it and myself an ‘axis’ – there are many supporters of the principle of Leave-The-EU who would like to see UKIP cleaned up and the low lifes and scoundrels who have hitched a ride on the gravy train removed to make UKIP fit for purpose with basic ethics that would justify the votes of decent, moral, informed individuals to turn UKIP into a force for leadership of the Leave-The-EU movement – honesty and probity, transparency and duty may be alien concepts to Mick McGough and his self seeking ilk currently aiding The EU’s control of these United Kingdoms.
Whether the all too obvious assistance these odious UKIPpers give the EU is deliberate or through dishonesty and stupidity is a moot point, though the track record would seem to indicate it is done out of self interest and with no thought of others and in betrayal of these United Kingdoms.
I appreciate this silly little man is, in this instance, only mischief making and dishonestly setting up a piece to try to defame myself and those who contribute to ‘Junius’ based on his lies, distortions and general lack of understanding of ethics, morality or common decency – a trait followed by many of UKIP’s leadership and its cowardly claque of internet liars and stalkers.
Just as with the article Mick McGough queried it was clearly stated the origins of the article and fully sourced by me. It was also pointed out that it was first published on an EU originated blog written by an EU employee Gary Cartwright who is employed by the EU in an official capacity working for the non ‘escrit’ aligned group of MEPs and happens to be assigned to work for Mike Nattrass, Trevor Colman and Nikki Sinclaire.
Just as I have shown in virtually every factual case I have published both the origins of the facts published and why I incline to believe them, as I believe truthfulness and accuracy are important both in blogging and life.
In the instance below regarding UKIP’s newly elected town councillor his track record of seemingly being forced to resign both as a county councillor and as a Tory member anmd councillor would clearly seem to be because he is a thief – and the source of the information is clearly shown – this being my practice to seek to ensure accuracy despite the lies of Mick McGough which are clearly proven and well documented snd hid desperate attempts to dishonestly defame.
Challenged to substantiate his lies about my blog and that of Junius; Mick McGough has proved beyond doubt his claims were dishonest.
The very best he can come up with in 1,000s of postings on my blogs is that I ‘may’ have misused technical jargon/information relative to his work experiemce as a bean counter, relative to accountants/auditors overseeing accounts etc., as is their job as hirelings for people and companies!!
Would anyone of any probity wish to have a low life liar like Mick McGough (an NEC placeman for UKIP) anywhere near their accounts when he is well documented as untrustworthy and dishonest

Alan Preest could find both fellow travellers and if he has in fact decided to go straight he would have a long term and full time job exposing the financial irregularities of UKIP – perhaps he would be well advised to hire a team and take on apprentices to keep up as clearly with the length of time the police take investigating the dishonesty of the likes of Tom Wise, David Bannerman, Stuart Agnew, John Ison, Derek Clark and others and failing to understand ‘Justice delayed is justice denied’ perhaps he could help clean up UKIP.

ALAN Preest will make a return to local government after being elected back onto Lydney Town Council.
Mr Preest, a former Conservative councillor who joined UKIP last year, won the by-election for the council’s Lydney North ward with 73.9 per cent of the vote this week.
He returns to the council from which he resigned in July last year.
Mr Preest said: “I’d like to thank the people of Lydney North for putting their trust in me and I look forward to re-joining the council, where I will continue where I left off, by leaving no stone unturned as I seek to ensure that the council works in the best interests of our community.”
Mr Preest is a former district and county councillor but has been embroiled in controversy before.
In 2008, he resigned from the Conservative Party after failing to clear his name for shoplifting.
He continued as an independent councillor but was then suspended from Forest of Dean District Council in 2009 for “totally unacceptable behaviour” at a public meeting in Lydney. He was reinstated but lost his seat by just seven votes in last year’s local elections.
More recently, he played a key role in digging up financial irregularities at Lydney Town Council which led to a rebuke for the authority from the Audit Commission.
Professor Tim Congdon CBE, from Huntley, UKIP Forest of Dean’s Parliamentary spokesman, said: “This is an excellent result, well deserving of the effort and hard work that has been put in by Alan and his team.
“UKIP Forest of Dean look forward to future local elections, and giving the people of the Forest area the chance to vote for a fresh political party, whose message is becoming increasingly popular, at a time that public faith in the mainstream parties continues to diminish.”
