A North Wales AM has called Chuka Umunna a “f***ing coconut” during a foul-mouthed rant against him, Barack Obama and Tristram Hunt.

Michelle Brown, a regional Ukip AM, said the Labour MP for Streatham was “black on the outside, white on the inside” in a telephone conversation with Nigel Williams, who was her senior advisor at the time.

In the exchange on May 14, 2016, Ms Brown also described former Labour MP Mr Hunt as a “t**t” and derided his background, before saying former US President Obama was “exactly the same” as Mr Umunna.

Ms Brown has apologised to anyone offended by her comments and said the language she used about Mr Umunna was “inappropriate”.

During the conversation last year, the AM said: “I don’t say this lightly…but Chuka Umunna is a f***ing coconut.

“He’s got as much understanding of an ordinary black man’s experience as I have.

“He may be black but his mother or his father was British from a very, very influential family.

“He is a coconut – black on the outside, white on the inside, and Barack Obama’s exactly the same.”

A spokesperson for the National Assembly for Wales Labour group said: “This is absolutely outrageous language and lays bare the disgusting racism at the heart of UKIP.

“Anything less than immediate suspension would be a clear endorsement of Michelle Brown’s racist slur.”

Mr Williams worked for Ms Brown for just over a year before being sacked by her in May this year, and was previously a police detective of 14 years in North Wales and Merseyside.

He said he spoke out after recently discovering the conversation among his records.

“I was absolutely appalled,” said Mr Williams.

“It’s bad enough coming from anybody, but to come from a newly appointed Assembly Member is absolutely appalling.

“I’ve seen swearing and I’ve been called all sorts of names myself, but I’ve actually never seen it from somebody in such a position.

“This wasn’t a meltdown. This was just a conversation that Michelle Brown was having, which she thought was OK.

“There was no meltdown going on. She was talking ordinarily about something else and just decided to throw that into the conversation.

“She was being appallingly badly behaved.”

In a statement, Ms Brown said: “The point I was making is that, because of his considerable wealth and privilege, Chukka Umunna cannot possibly understand the difficulties and issues that the average black person faces in this country any more than I can, and I stand by that assertion.

“I do however accept that the language I used in the private conversation was inappropriate and I apologise to anyone that has been offended by it.

“As far as the language I used about Mr Hunt is concerned, it was a private conversation and I was using language that friends and colleagues often do when chatting to each other.”

Mr Ummuna, Mr Hunt and UKIP have been approached for comment.

The European Union has demanded another bill… and this time it’s £80,000 of Nigel Farage’s own money.

The MEP recently received a letter stamped by the European Parliament telling him he was being unexpectedly charged the mammoth amount.

It’s all over a quibble that one of Nigel’s staff who helps represent him as an MEP also held a post in Ukip at the same time.

The LBC presenter confirmed this was the case, but argued he had done nothing wrong as the staff member worked for Ukip on a voluntary basis.

“But they’re not happy with that,” Nigel said.

“So without any meeting. Without any request to me to provide evidence. Without any formal procedure of any kind at all, the letter tells me they’re going to take £80,000 from me.”

He continued: “And it’s now my job to prove my innocence and so what we’re actually dealing with here, these unelected people are behaving frankly like people back in Stalin’s day did.”

The comments of Ukip its spokesmen & on LBC are of course, as ever, totally dishonest or at best deliberately misleading when you consider the following:

Perhaps someone can explain why Nikki Sinclair was dishonestly prosecuted and persecuted by British Police, seeking a custodial sentence over an alleged sum of about £3,000 mis-spent based on evidence dishonestly and criminally concocted by John Ison in apparent collusion with Nigel Farage, as boasted of in Court by John Ison!

The case against Nikki Sinclaire totally collapsed and was shown to be utter rubbish based on the lies & criminality of John Ison & the attrocious incompetence & collusion in the crtiminality of Ison & seemingly Farage, of the British Police & CPS – at an estimated cost of £1.5Million!

I understand that just over a week ago ONE YEAR after Nikki Sinclaire was totally exhonerated without any compensation or damages for the Police & CPS collusion in her quite deliberate and undeniably criminal persecution, a formal complaint has been instigated!

This is the Ukip data extracted from a MSM article published in fuller form above but worthy of repeat as you can be assured when the order is eventually made by the EU Ukip will claim it is untrue / a mistake / a misunderstanding / victimisation / a surprise / unfair or all of these – yet leading names, including Farage, in Ukip both colluded and/or directly benefitted in the money embezzeled by Ukip MEP Tom Wise who was jailed for 2 years for his fraud, theft & embezzelment of tax payers’ money.

You may well remember Tom Wise gave Nigel Farage several £1,000s of the money he had stolen AFTER it was public knowledge he had stolen the money! Farage spent the money settling an undertaking made to me that he paid Lindsey Jenkins for the right to claim sponsorship of one of her books – a payment he made to appear more of a politician of gravitas and responsibility, more than we who know him are well aware that he is as a glib incompetent deceitfull motormouth!

Also you will remember Tom Wise spent some £8,000 of the tax payers’ m,oney he had stolen trying to silence the truth by endeavouring to bankrupt me! Just as have Ukip, Gerard Batten and Mark Croucher, fortunately I have always had the very sound defence of ‘veritas’ on my side – as I have ALWAYS sought to publish the truth and have NEVER set out to dishonestly or deliberately lie or mislead on ANY comment I have made and have always stated I am willing to immediately correct any error I may make with the relevant appology be that in copyright or accuracy terms.

Whilst on the subject of Justice perhaps someone can also explain to me why Nikki Sinclaire was prosecuted at a cost to the tax payers of around £1.5M, with the intent/possibility of a custodial sentence, over £3K and Tom Wise was sent to prison for 2 years over the sum of arouind £25K he was ordered to repay of the total he perloined! Yet the police OLAF the EU the BBC, Times, Telegraph and other MSM have been well aware that having used tax payers’ money for their own benefit to the tune of some £11,000 by Ukip MEP Nigel Farage & Ukip MEPJeffrey Titford, £3>5,000 by Ukip MEP Graham Booth, numerous £1,000s by Ukip MEPJanice Atkinson, between £50>100,000 by Ukip MEP Derek Clarke and no doubt others who used tax payers’ money for gain some merely paid the money back when caught some paid a part back.

Why is there not a level playing field in matters of Justice – considering the sums involved Farage, Titford, Booth, Atkinson, Clarke and no doubt others should have been prosecuted and sent to prison – why has Justice been deliberately corrupted by the police and CPS?

When will John Ison be prosecuted for the criminality he openly boasted of in Court and even Nigel Farage who was implicated re the efforts to dishonestly and malliciously stitch up Nikki Sinclaire?

British eurosceptic MEP Nigel Farage has been ordered to repay £80,000 to the European Parliament, it has been reported. The institution has objected to the fact that one of his staff, paid by the EU to assist him in his work as an MEP, is also working for UKIP, the party of which Farage was formerly leader. This is against the Parliament’s rules.

Whilst not denying the facts of the matter, Farage has defended his position by claiming that the staff member in question was working for the party “on a voluntary basis.”

This will not the first time that money has been reclaimed from UKIP MEPs by the European Parliament for such a breach of the rules.

The employment of party officials through the members assistance allowance is in fact a very common practice amongst MEPs of all nationalities: Marine Le Pen has also been caught out recently, and UKIP is certainly not the only British party to have done this.

There are other ways in which EU funded staff can be deployed to other purposes. During the 2004-2009 legislature, the Independence & Democracy Group, of which Farage was co-President, was found to be employing staff, and even providing office facilities, to a privately owned media company – the principle of that company being the wife of Farage’s fellow co-President at the time, Jens Peter Bonde.

In March 2014, then MEP Nikki Sinclaire caused uproar in the Parliament when she accused Farage of employing both his wife and his former mistress out of his European Parliament allowances.

Employing one’s spouse was, at the time, both widespread and legal. Now it is a banned practice. However, as is often the case in the EU institutions, when one loophole closes another opens up, and at the beginning of the current legislature Farage’s wife was found to be employed by a fellow UKIP MEP, one Raymond Finch. During the 2009-2014 legislature, Finch himself had been employed by…… Nigel Farage!

Why haven’t Gerard Batten, the Police, CPS, the judge and various lawyers been prosecuted for what was described in Court Documents (March 2011) as ‘Criminal Conspiracy to pervert the course of Justice (against Jasna Badzak)’.

Nigel Farage, Paul Nuttall and six other Ukip MEPs are under investigation by the European parliament for alleged misuse of funds, which could lead to repayment demands totalling £500,000.

Financial controllers are looking into eight of Ukip’s 20 MEPs, who are suspected of having broken rules that ban full-time EU-funded parliamentary assistants from working for the national party.

It is understood that Farage and his fellow Ukip MEP Raymond Finch will be asked to repay around £84,000 paid to their joint assistant, Christopher Adams, who is also Ukip’s national nominating officer. Adams is described as one of the party’s “key people” on its website. Parliament officials have suspended Adams’s contract because they are not convinced he was working as an MEP assistant.

Under EU rules, full-time MEP assistants are not allowed to do paid work for a national political party; part-time assistants need to have second jobs, paid and voluntary, vetted by European parliament authorities to prevent a conflict of interest.

Financial controllers are investigating the work of several other MEP assistants, where they suspect a conflict of interest between their EU-paid job and national party role. It is understood three of the assistants worked for Nuttall, who is vying to become Ukip’s second MP in Westminster in the Stoke-on-Trent Central byelection later this month.

Each of the European parliament’s 751 MEPs is entitled to €23,400 a month to pay for staff to run offices in Brussels and their home constituencies, plus a further €4,342 in office expenses. If Ukip MEPs had claimed the full allowance in 2016, the total sums involved would have been €7.3m.

Farage’s wife, Kirsten, is caught up in the investigation because she was paid as an MEP assistant while running her husband’s office for the national party.

Kirsten Farage was named as an assistant to Finch, who represents the party in the south-east of England. He has been asked to repay more than £20,000 over her employment because the European parliament’s financial controllers were not convinced she was doing real work as his assistant.

Finch employed Kirsten Farage in his constituency office to do secretarial work between 2014 and 2016. During the same period, she was full-time office manager for her husband, according to European parliament information.

Roger Helmer, a Conservative defector known for his controversial remarks on climate change and rape, faces a repayment bill of about £95,000 for employing the Ukip chairman, Paul Oakden, as his assistant. Oakden, who held the post of party director while working for Helmer, emerged into the spotlight last autumn as he sought to steady the party during the rocky period of the leadership contests to replace Farage.

One source estimated that Ukip MEPs could be asked to repay about £500,000 in EU funds if the party is shown to have broken the rules in each case currently under investigation. It is understood that the other MEPs being investigated are Jonathan Arnott, Louise Bours, James Carver and Margot Parker.

A Ukip spokesman rejected the allegations. “We have been here [as elected MEPs] since 1999 and have scrupulously applied the rules of the European parliament with very few problems. It would appear that post-Brexit there is an element of vindictiveness in the way in which the European parliament is behaving.

“We are appealing each and every one of the allegations that have been made.”

Helmer, who faces the largest bill known so far, said the parliament administration had “mistakenly” got the idea that Oakden worked for him full time. “So far as I am concerned there is no case to answer – merely an administrative misunderstanding to resolve.”

If MEPs refuse to repay misspent funds, parliament can withhold up to half their annual salaries (€79,332 a year after tax) and daily allowances (€52,104 a year), until the money has been recouped.

The European parliament’s financial controllers began the latest checks after a separate investigation revealed that a Ukip-dominated group in the institution had misspent more than €500,000 of EU money. The Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe, a Ukip-controlled pan-European party, was found to have spent EU funds on Nigel Farage’s failed attempt to win a seat in Westminster, flouting the ban on using European money for national campaigns.

Parliament is considering extending its investigation to the 2009-14 legislature, when Ukip had 13 MEPs. The current inquiry covers the current parliament, elected in June 2014.

Ukip is not the only party accused of misspending EU money to fund its national activities. The leader of France’s far-right Front National, Marine Le Pen, was last year ordered to repay €339,000, after the EU’s anti-fraud office, Olaf, found she had misused EU funds following a European parliament inquiry. The French presidential hopeful had received EU funds to pay the salaries of two assistants, but the anti-fraud watchdog said the pair worked almost entirely for the national party.

The FN leader missed a deadline at midnight on Tuesday to repay the money and now faces losing half her salary and allowance. Le Pen has denied allegations of fraud and says she will not “submit to persecution” by repaying the money.

The European parliament has played a vital role in Ukip’s political success, giving the Eurosceptic party a platform and funding it has never matched on the domestic stage.

A spokesperson for the European parliament declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. Olaf referred questions back to the European parliament.

Nicholas Aiossa, a campaigner at Transparency International, said the Ukip case may need to be referred to the EU anti-fraud office. “Recovery of these funds is essential, but the parliament needs to take a harder look at whether MEPs have been intentionally engaging in fraudulent activities and if so they should refer these cases to Olaf.”

Hi,

as ever Ukip members at all levels are fighting like ferrets in a sack – their leaderless situation after years of self serving leaders is just another one of the more obvious fractures that are destroying the party with no sign of anyone of any competence and political skill likely to step forward and put a stop to the squabbling.

Added to this so many senior party members are under investigation by OLAF and asd far afield as the FBI, CIA, and US NSA with quite obvious links to Russia and Russian funding it is hardly surprising!

There is even talk that Banks, Stroloff, Farage, Batten and possibly others are in danger of indictment!

Here is concrete evidence for you of how widespread this utter incompetence is and although I don’t find Ukip has sufficient worth or future to invest more time in the matter investigating this document sent to me has the absolute ring of truth to it as justy more of the same:

DRAFT REPORT ON LONDON TITHEING (OR, ABSENCE OF) BY UKIP LONDON ASSEMBLY MEMBERS

BACKGROUND

This report is produced because I, the Regional Chairman, am fed up of being criticised by people connected to one or other London Assembly members for my playing some role in, or being responsible for, their not attending, since May 2016, Regional committee meetings, to which I’ve always invited them. This also relates to the issue of tithing by London Assembly members.

They have not made any financial contribution to the Region or, I am advised, any significant contribution to central Party funds; if there were any significant financial contributions directly to branches, I’ve not been able to find any. This report principally relates to suggestions that, prior to being elected, AMs had promised to contribute.

At the minuted Regional meeting of May 9, 2016, several days after the AMs had been elected, NEC delegate Elizabeth Jones asked an extra-agenda question about whether the AMs would tithe or otherwise contribute money. I ended this discussion once an impasse was reached. Many of us then overheard a side conversation from the floor, where two members of the Croydon branch were agreeing that a prior commitment to tithe had been made by one or both AMs.

Several minutes later, Elizabeth revisited this, and several others chimed in. An AM took offence an began to remonstrat with her in raised tones; both left in a huff. I gently scolded the NEC member for what could be seen as incivility. At a talk after the end of the meeting, it appeared to me that a third party, the then Chairman of the Croydon branch, also thought this had happened, but was more concerned that the NEC member had been too brusque.

I had no prior intention of looking further into what was a year-old matter when the (new to the job, and apparently interpreting his role very differently from how the Regional Secretary and I saw it) Regional Vice Chairman began claiming in writing that it was largely my fault. Had he not done so, I would not have initiated these enquiries.

To quote from several of his picturesque emails addressed to myself:

“The division is disastrous and a gaping self-inflicted wound on UKIP in London … The matter is more complex than that and certainly is not solely the result of ‘unsympathetic handling from an attendee’ as your email implies. … Regarding the disastrous divisions at senior level within UKIP in London, I think it would be helpful if you acknowledged, first to yourself and then to Peter and David, your own major contribution to this unfortunate state of affairs. A little humility an realistic acknowledgement of your mistakes might open the door to reconciliation between you.”

He kept calling for meetings to discuss this, though there was a snap General Election to fight. I thought this bizarre. For the avoidance of doubt – my duties include competently chairing meetings; my skill-set does not include reading people’s minds as to what they are about to do or say, but have not yet done or said. And, given the additional information, it appears as if the NEC attendee, Elizabeth, may have been justified in bringing up the matter again.

Then, the person who set all this off, the Regional Vice Chairman, resigned, citing a potential conflict of interest as he is closely involved in getting one of the AMs concerned elected as Party Leader. His resignation was accepted.

In conjunction with the Regional Secretary, I have investigated the matter; I do not find I made anything to support the Vice Chairman’s allegations against me. There is nothing further I can do – I defer to youi to look into it, and also into whether there was any prior commitment to tithe. There is some evidence there was.

The then Vice Chairman’s emails also showed knowledge of an apparently unconstitutional body operating in London in parallel with the legitimate one (the “LRC”), and fund-raising within UKIP – one which the Secretary, R.O. and I are obliged to fully investigate. The Vice Chairman claimed to have been offered a senior position in that body (“LCC”).

WHAT I HAVE SINCE DONE TO ASCERTAIN THE TRUTH

In summer 2017, have attempted to contact all attendees at the unminuted UKIP branch meeting in Croydon on October 28, 2015 (i.e., 3+ months before I was elected Regional Chairman). The position of the AM attendees is selfevident – they deny there was any commitment to tithe.

Three attendees claim a pledge or pledges were made. Written evidence from them is below.

None of the other non-AM attendees (CW, DH, MS, PK), when telephoned by me, were able to shed any further light on this. All said they couldn’t confirm tithing pledges were made, but couldn’t confirm they weren’t. One of the four (PK) is hard of hearing; the other three say they remember almost nothing of what was said. The former branch Chairman (CW), whom I thought on May 9 2016 recalled the 2015 event, in 2017 said he no longer could be sure.

So, of the seven identified attendees beside the AMs, three assert that a pledge or pledges were made, and the other four don’t recall either way. Knowing the attendees and the relations (strained in several cases) between them, I find it hard to believe there is collusion. However, I cannot guarantee there hasn’t been any. Arguably, one of the three witnesses may have an axe to grind.

Important Caveat: I cannot attest to the veracity or accuracy of anything other than what was directly witnessed by me.

None of what allegedly happened in Croydon was witnessed by me. The emails quoted below were really from their apparent senders (Kathleen Garner 02086 816135; Peter Staveley 07973168742; Suzanne Evans 07973149104).

Not long after the selection process for the GLA elections in 2016 had finished, the three top candidates, Peter Whittle, David Kurten and Suzanne Evans, were invited to speak to the Croydon UKIP branch. The meeting was held on Wednesday, the 28th October, 2015, at The Orchard public house in Cherry Orchard Road, Addiscombe, East Croydon.

The issue of the candidates’ paying a tithe to the party arose. David Kurten stated that he would pay 10% to the party in London. I queried this, pointing out that it would involve his paying £5,000. He agreed to the amount, adding that it would in fact probably be more than that.

I recall that Peter Whittle did not make any comment about his planned contribution.

I am not sure what Suzanne Evans said but in a later e-mail in response to one from me she said that as a councillor she had paid a regular monthly tithe and would have done the same again.

At the May 9th [2016] LRC meeting held at the Old Butler’s Head, Elizabeth Jones reminded the committee that Labour members pay a tithe to their party and, with further reference to the lost mayoral deposit, pursued this issue with reference to Peter Whittle and David Kurten. Both GLA members, who were present, made it clear that they disliked the raising of this matter and refused to discuss it.

I mentioned what had been said at the Croydon meeting to Peter Staveley who was sitting to the right of my neighbour.

He agreed that these comments had been made.

Elizabeth Jones then brought up the issue again but the chairman informed her that the matter had been dealt with.

Peter Whittle left the room abruptly. David Kurten followed Peter Whittle a few minutes later.

I too have a recollection that David offered a tithe. I am not so certain that any figure was mentioned. Unfortunately, as in any witness statement, my memory has been clouded by later comments so I am less comfortable that 10% was mentioned. However, that could well have been because 10% seemed very reasonable and absolutely normal.

Certainly had I been in David’s position I would have made the same commitment (and stuck to it).

Now things have quietened down as GE2017 nominations go in, or don’t, I’m briefly addressing several deeply unpleasant accusations made against me, in writing, after I won re-election at the LRC AGM (…) The essence of them is that I bear some responsibility, or even guilt, for allowing the question of tithes to be raised by Elizabeth Jones at the LRC last May 9, or by not shutting it/her down quickly enough when she re-raised them.

The bare facts of what happened were minuted and are not in dispute.

While what Elizabeth had stated a year ago evidently made several uncomfortable, and may even been in poor taste,

she was IMO neither rude nor offensive. Breaking into a comfort zone is less significant than breaking an electoral promise. Elizabeth, as an NEC member, had the right to attend LRC meetings, and, as I confirmed with both the then General Secretary (and UKIP Legal chief) and later with his successor, such attendance carries with it the right to address the meeting, though not to disrupt it.

At that May 9, 2016 LRC meeting, an exchange between Kathleen Garner and yourself, wholly unanticipated by me, was overheard by me. I didn’t miss a word of it. I have precious few talents; the ability to accurately follow simultaneous conversations, and a good sense of hearing, are two of them.

I had noticed you nodding in agreement at what Kathleen told you she had recollected (which was an abbreviated version of what appears in bold below). You recalled it too.

Understanding in a trice the significance of what had just passed between Kathleen and you, I instantly looked across at the Croydon branch Chairman. His expression conveyed to me that he too had heard the exchange.

Evidently, the exchange was also heard by Elizabeth Jones, who then immediately revisited what I’d closed down 10 minutes or so earlier. Very shortly thereafter, chaos ensued.

At the end of that fateful LRC meeting I – very briefly – spoke with the Croydon branch Chairman. His focus was his unhappiness at the manner in which Elizabeth had approached the matter, and not whether what Kathleen had recalled had really happened… I thought that significant and [perhaps] corroborative.

Last week, our having suffered this year-old incident being dredged up, one of my LRC colleagues asked for the subject of that exchange to be set out by Kathleen in writing.

This is what she has kindly provided, based on her contemporaneous notes from 2015:

I was at the Croydon meeting, as I was then still number three on the London list. I recall quite clearly that we all – myself, Peter Whittle and David Kurten – pledged to pay a tithe. I pointed out that I had done so as a Councillor. I cannot explicitly recall DK saying he would pay 10% but yes, we all did offer to pay something from our AM salaries if elected.

UKIP MEP Jane Collins has thrown her hat into the ring to be the party’s next leader.

Ms Collins represents Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire for UKIP in the European Parliament.

She is currently facing possible bankruptcy after failing to pay damages to three Labour MPs over remarks she made about the Rotherham child abuse scandal.

But that has not stopped her from announcing her ambition to become UKIP’s next leader.

The role is currently vacant following the resignation of Paul Nuttall after the party’s disastrous performance in the general election.

Ms Collins, who lives in East Yorkshire, said she wanted to re-build UKIP’s reputation.

“Having watched what has happened to my party over the last few months I have decided to stand for leadership,” she said.

“The infighting and carpet-bagging going on within UKIP is quite frankly very disappointing.

“I have seen UKIP in this position before in the 90s when I worked with Godfrey Bloom and through Godfrey’s hard work and dedication throughout the region we built Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire into one of UKIP’s most strongest region’s with some great election results.

“At present we are still not out of the water with Brexit and UKIP must survive, thrive and succeed in delivering what the British public voted for delivering.

“Brexit is the start of the process and the next stage of the game for UKIP.”

Ms Collins, who was elected as an MEP in 2014, has been embroiled in controversy over comments she made in a speech at a UKIP conference a month after a report found that around 1,400 children in Rotherham had been abused between 1997 and 2013.

In the speech, she claimed Rotherham MPs Sir Kevin Baron, John Healey and Sarah Champion knew about child exploitation in the town but did not intervene.

Ms Collins argued it was a political speech which reflected her opinion that the MPs were likely to have known the issue was a serious problem.

But the MPs sued for libel and slander and in February she was told to pay £358,000 in damages and costs. She appeared in county court in Hull in May after failing to pay within the required timescale.

After the hearing was adjourned for an examination of her financial assets, a spokesman for Ms Collins said she would face bankruptcy proceedings if it was found she could not make the payments owed.

In a statement announcing her intention to stand for the UKIP leadership, she said: “Over the last few years, since becoming an MEP, I have been subjected to legal action by three Rotherham MPs which unfortunately put severe constraints on my party activities.

“My personal life has been badly affected and the party and my constituents who I have felt I had to speak up for have been let down by all statutory bodies in Rotherham.

“The case is still in the process with the European Court of Justice and police investigations are on-going.”

Ms Collins has also continued to question the case brought against her by the three MPs on her Twitter account.

Last month she tweeted: “I’m being sued for £250k for speaking up against Child Exploitation by predominantly Muslim gangs but somehow I am some aplogist. Weird.”

Farage – One Step Nearer The Slammer

Yesterday’s events Stateside may soon be causing ripples on this side of the North Atlantic, such is the involvement with several politicians, pundits and other sundry hangers-on with the Trump Gang. And one of those politicians now wondering if spending time in the USA might not be the good idea they once thought it to be is former UKIP Oberscheissenführer Nigel “Thirsty” Farage.

Squeaky indictment finger up the bum time

Farage had made great play of his wish to relocate to the States, claiming that he received so much hassle here in the UK, although this was probably code for “insufficient fawning adoration”. After Combover Crybaby Donald Trump’s idiot son Donald Junior admitted he and two other key Trump campaign figures had knowingly met with a Russian state-linked lawyer to get dirt on Hillary Clinton, the vultures are starting to circle.

Words like “Collusion” and even “Treason” are being openly used across the US media, and indeed on Capitol Hill. High ranking GOP representatives are beginning to break ranks. And all the while, the closeness of Mr Thirsty to this crowd is being pored over, especially by the likes of Carole Cadwalladr at the Observer, who was dismissed rather too eagerly as a “Tinfoil hatted journalist” by the Guido Fawkes rabble.

Since then, Zelo Street has pieced together more of the jigsaw, including the presence of several of the key figures in the list of “Golden Dolphin” awards made by the now-moribund Young Britons’ Foundation. Meanwhile, those in the Farage inner circle have become jumpy enough for one of them to suggest legal action to throw Ms Cadwalladr off the scent. We appear to be getting closer to Mr Thirsty’s personal endgame.

Ms Cadwalladr Tweeted yesterday “What *is* the story here? New photo of Farage emerges. With “Putin’s favourite congressman” & associate of Paul Manafort – @DanaRohrabacher”. A photo showed Farage and Rohrbacher on a fishing trip. Then she followed up with “Reminder of who @DonaldJTrumpJr forwarded that exciting email about the meeting with the Russians to”. Paul Manafort. Associate of Rohrbacher.

Then came the first giveaway: Arron Banks responded to one of Ms Cadwalladr’s Tweets, despite not having been tagged in it. “You are a person of interest to no one, Carole” he sneered, but despite there being no alleged interest, he tagged Andy Wigmore to be on the safe side. Wigmore deflected: “It’s pure fantasy”. Don’t worry. Look over there.

However, and here we encounter a potentially game changing however, Liz Bilney, who is the CEO of Leave EU, then leapt into the Twitter exchange – once again, without being tagged. “I’m interested to see if there’s a defamation claim … I will be looking very closely at @carolecadwalla” she warned. That really is a serious giveaway.

Carole Cadwalladr did no more than post a Tweet including a photo, and ask a question about it. Suddenly, Arron Banks is ostentatiously waving it away, and the Leave EU CEO is suggesting she’s going to get Lawyered up. But over what?

The thought enters that Nigel Farage could be in serious trouble – remember, he has not only the Trump connection, but the Assange one as well – and that those around him know the house may be about to fall in on them. More on this one later.

On the first anniversary of Britain’s vote to leave the EU, Nigel Farage put on his Union Jack shoes to attend a party at a stately home near Bristol. The owner of the house, Old Down Manor, is Arron Banks, a 51-year-old insurance entrepreneur who has emerged as Britain’s most prominent political donor, claiming that he invested nearly £9m in the run-up to the Brexit vote.

His guests drank champagne and cheered a replay of the television coverage of referendum night.

One Ukipper called him “King Arron”, while copies of his book The Bad Boys of Brexit were laid at each table setting. Mr Banks has promised to continue to shake up British politics, but a year after the vote, the extent of his wealth and his political intentions is unclear.

Even Old Down Manor is not all that might seem. It is not Mr Banks’ home; he runs it as a wedding venue, living in a modest farmhouse nearby. Old Down Manor Ltd, the holding company, had net liabilities in the most recent set of annual accounts available.

In 2015, Mr Banks told the FT that he was worth around £100m. This year he appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List for the first time, with an estimated net worth of £250m — much of it riding on the then expected planned flotation of Eldon, one of his insurance companies. But public filings covering Mr Banks’ business interests show the use of a range of accounting techniques that mask the value of his investments.

He is a shareholder in at least 20 UK registered companies according to Orbis, a company database. Almost all of their parent companies are offshore in the Isle of Man, Gibraltar and the British Virgin Islands, affording them privacy.

His interests worldwide include insurance, banking, diamond mining and political consultancy. “I started my business with a desk and two phones, and built it from nothing. I earned and created every penny I made,” he said earlier this year.

Mr Banks built Group Direct, a motor insurer, from a small office above a bakery in Thornbury, Gloucestershire. In 2008, this business reversed into Brightside Group, which was listed on London’s Alternative Investment Market.

Mr. Banks and his wife say they made £10m from selling their shares in Brightside. He left in 2012, after a quarrel with his cofounders and two years after that, the company was sold to AnaCap, the private equity group, and became heavily lossmaking.

AnaCap has since sued its auditors, alleging “serious and widespread” failings at Brightside, including during Mr Banks’ tenure, though he is not a target of the suit.

In 2010 and 2011, Brightside paid Southern Rock Insurance — the Gibraltarbased underwriter in which Mr Banks is a major shareholder — £17m for a software platform and £32.4m for rights to distribute and sell motor insurance. But despite these sales, Southern Rock lost nearly £9m that year and by 2011 it was technically insolvent, without enough reserves to cover potential payouts.

The Gibraltar financial regulator ordered its directors to recapitalise the company. In the following years Mr Banks and his co-shareholders pumped money into Southern Rock and accepted a “period of ban or self-exclusion from other insurance directorships”. Mr Banks resigned as director of Eldon Insurance in Sept 2013 and Southern Rock in 2014.

Business remained difficult. Between 2010 and 2015, Southern Rock made multimillion losses on its core business in four of the six years.

In 2015, the most recent accounts available, Southern Rock posted a loss of nearly £28m on its core business. But it turned an overall profit by selling policy renewal rights for £73m to ICS Risk Solutions, an Isle of Man company that is majority owned by Mr Banks.

This allowed Southern Rock to book upfront profits from future earnings. I started my business with a desk and two phones, and built it from nothing. I earned and created every penny I made Mr Banks told the FT that Southern Rock was a “profitable, sustainable business in good standing” and that its finances could not easily be compared with other underwriting businesses because it also sold financial products.

Southern Rock had sold policy rights in order to meet solvency rules, he added. In the UK, Mr Banks’ insurance group’s main businesses — Eldon Insurance and Rock Services — work closely with Southern Rock, as extensive related-party disclosures show.

The company’s profitability is difficult to assess because of its high administrative expenses, which closely track turnover.

In 2015, it achieved a profit of just £284,000 on a turnover of £33.6m while paying £33.4m in administrative expenses. It received a £3,000 UK tax credit.

The company’s profitability is difficult to assess because of its high administrative expenses, which closely track turnover In the same year, it sold £25.7m of services to Southern Rock Insurance in Gibraltar and bought £27.5m of services from Rock Services, a UK company, of which Mr Banks is a director.

Through his lawyers, Mr Banks said a £250m valuation of Eldon Insurance was “speculative”, but that it could be justified because Eldon’s earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation were forecast internally to rise to £20m.

He also said that there were no plans to float Eldon Insurance Services, although he subsequently told the FT that a flotation could take place “maybe next year”.

The FT has contacted Mr Banks’ holding companies in the Isle of Man, to obtain its annual accounts, but had not had a response at the time of publication.

Mr Banks has diversified his holdings. Over the years he built stakes in an offshore bank, a provider of trustees to high net worth individuals, and — through Southern Rock Insurance — even uranium mining in Niger.

More recently, he has taken shares in a sports consultancy. His charity, Love Saves the Day, claims to provide grants in the Commonwealth including Lesotho and Belize. Established in 2014, and registered with the Charity Commission in June 2014, its most recent accounts — which cover the period to May 2016 — show no income received and no grants made.

One of the charity’s founding trustees was suspended in March this year by the UK’s solicitor regulation authority for one year, for in effect facilitating money laundering into Belize by a third party. “When it was brought to our attention she was being investigated in the UK we stopped using her”, a spokesman for Mr Banks said, adding that Mr Banks made a lot of donations personally outside of the charity “depending on the request”.

It is also unclear how much Mr Banks actually spent on Brexit. He provided money to Leave.EU in the form a £6m loan — he says to avoid inheritance tax. Leave.EU’s first annual accounts, show that as of September 2016 that loan — which is due to be repaid at the end of this year — was still outstanding.

Meanwhile his Better for the Country Ltd — which donated nearly £2m to Grassroots Out — another Brexit campaign group — is owed £1.3m by related parties, and owes £2m to related parties.

With regard to property it would be of value to have the correct address & lease details of the property in Washington that it was announced Banks had leased for his and Farage’s use. Which of Banks’ companies actually pay the bills or are they paid from elsewhere! It would also be interesting to know if the FBI/CIA/NSA investigation had something to do with their now infrequent, if ever, visits to Washington. I gather the inquiries are largely concluded with interestintg material leading to the study of connections and relationships, hence the delay in any action!

How Julian Assange received the memory stick which it is understood contained private eMails of Hillary Clinton, and if that was the memory stick who obtained it and was it in fact supplied by Russian sources and who delivered it to him!

There is also interest in a Russian named Mogleivitch and if or what connections he may have with Banks, his Russian wife and/or Nigel Farage.

Similarly the connection with the art collector, yacht & commercial plane owner Dimitry Rybolovlev a Russian olygarch living in Monaco. His meeting(s) with members of Donald Trump’s team particularly in Dubrovnic are also of some interest

On that subject details of the relationship between Jarred Kushner, Dubrovnic & Rybolovlev would be of help.

Finally at this stage it would be of interest to know the details of the plea bargain of George Cottrell (see: https://ukip-vs-eukip.com/2017/06/07/george-cottrell-may-have-cut-a-deal-that-might-not-suit-nigel-farage/) we believe that the information he supplied MUST have been consequential as they saved him from 20 years in an American prison!

A Russian dissident accused of possessing thousands of indecent images of children should be retried despite his ill health, a judge has ruled.

Vladimir Bukovsky, 74, denies five counts of making indecent images.

He also denies five of possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing a prohibited image.

An earlier trial at Cambridge Crown Court was halted in December after Mr Bukovsky was diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted to hospital.

Judge Gareth Hawkesworth had directed that “if and when” Mr Bukovsky was fit enough to stand trial, it would be heard before a new jury.

‘Vocal critic’

In a hearing at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday, defence counsel Francis FitzGibbon QC argued that the public interest in prosecuting the case was “not so great as to outweigh the recognised risk to this man’s health and wellbeing”.

He said Mr Bukovsky was a “very sick man” who “may not have very long to go in terms of life expectancy”.

But Judge Hawkesworth said: “In my judgment, and this is a very sad matter, but the defendant’s risk of dying tomorrow on an ordinary day is just as high as if the trial was proceeding tomorrow.”

Ruling that a retrial should proceed, he said that the risk to Mr Bukovsky’s health could be mitigated by allowing him to appear by video link from his home in Cambridge and for him to have a medical examination two days ahead of the trial.

Mr Bukovsky, an author and activist who became well known internationally as a vocal critic of the Soviet regime, returned to the UK from Germany to face the charges. He had been receiving private medical treatment abroad.

He is due to stand trial at Cambridge Crown Court on 24 July.

Now I see the media have the story! I could not risk publishing the facts about possible/probable fraud due to the litigious nature & fundamental dishonesty & corruption that is Ukip!

But here it is, all be it the facts seem watered down!

One has to wonder why Nikki Sinclaire was so beligerently persecuted by West Midland’s Police when set up and lied about by Farage & John Ison respectively – over a sum of a claimed £3,500, where the CPS & police squandered a published £1.5 Million on their vanity case where they were proven 100% wrong & Sinclaire was not only found Not Guilty, by the Jury, but was openly exhonerated by the Judge, who cautioned John Ison, in open Court, for his criminality and neither the Police nor the CPS took any action!

Yet here we are with an EU freeloader who has allegedly milked the tax payer of £100,000 or so and they’ll let him pay it back out of his obscenely over generous EU slush fund!

It also makes one wonder just what the CPS & Police are upto when you add into the melting pot the lies & distortions of the overtly racist Gerard Batten and the persecution of Jasna Badzak over false allegations & an initial claim, alleged by Batten, of around £1,000 which they failed to convince, it was clearly a conviction that was seemingly based on lies, bias and corruption.

Roger Helmer, a key member of Ukip’s top team, is resigning from the European parliament, ahead of a demand to repay around £100,000 of EU money for alleged misuse of public funds.

The veteran politician, known for his controversial remarks on climate change, rape and homosexuality, is standing down from the European parliament on 31 July, after an 18-year career as an MEP.

He can appeal against the repayment demand at the European court of justice in Luxembourg. If he loses, the parliament has the right to claw back the money by withholding a chunk of a generous “transitional allowance” MEPs get on their departure.

His resignation was announced in a European parliament notice published in Strasbourg on Tuesday. No explanation was given for Helmer’s decision to resign midway through the European parliamentary term.

The Guardian has learnt that Helmer faces a bill close to £100,000 for illicitly employing a Ukip party worker, Paul Oakden, as his assistant. Oakden’s contract has already been suspended.

MEPs are banned from hiring full-time assistants who have jobs in national political parties. Paul Oakden was employed as Helmer’s assistant, while also working as Ukip chairman, according to the party website and in-house magazine.

European parliament financial controllers began their investigation last year and are due to send Helmer a formal “letter for recovery” because they are not satisfied with his explanations of an “administrative misunderstanding”.

Helmer can appeal to the European court of justice in Luxembourg to contest the repayment demand, but if he loses the parliament can claw back the money from a possible €159,000 transitional allowance that the MEP is entitled to for two years after stepping down.

The sum for Helmer’s transitional allowance has been calculated by the Guardian using the parliament’s rulebook, but the final amount could vary and has not been set by in-house accountants.

Contacted by the Guardian, Helmer said: “The only comment I have is how do you know about it and I don’t.”

He declined to answer further questions, but said he would make a statement in a regular news bulletin to his supporters later on Tuesday.

The Guardian was copied into an email Helmer sent to senior officials at the European parliament in February, where he rejected the allegations as “black propaganda”.

Helmer is one of eight Ukip MEPs who has been investigated by European parliament financial controllers for alleged misuse of EU funds in 2017. Investigations are ongoing into the offices of Ukip former leaders Paul Nuttall and Nigel Farage, as well as other MEPs, including Raymond Finch, a Farage protege. The parliament has closed cases into assistants working for James Carver and Jonathan Arnott, without further action. But further demands for repayment of EU funds are expected.

Helmer, 73, was a businessman who was elected to the European parliament in 1999 as a Conservative party MEP and re-elected in 2004 and 2009 before defecting to Ukip in March 2012.

Known for his hostility to climate science, Helmer has described global warming as “myth” and as a Conservative MEP spent public money on a billboard campaign decrying wind turbines in his East Midlands constituency.

He caused outrage when he said some people find same-sex relationships “distasteful if not viscerally repugnant” and argued that there are “different degrees of culpability” in rape cases. Farage, then Ukip leader, said some of Helmer’s remarks on homosexuality had gone too far.

But the MEP continued to play a prominent role in Ukip’s team and was deployed on the airwaves to defend the party, when in 2016 it was asked to repay €173,000 (£148,000) in misspent EU funds and denied an even larger amount in grants, for misspending EU money. A European parliament political group dominated by Ukip was found to have broken EU rules by pouring European money into their campaign war-chest in the 2015 British general election.
