Hi,

for many years EUroRealist Forum, under its various leaders/owners has provided

a steady flow of information –

it was one of the first to start in the EUroRealist thought zone,

if not THE first, and is still going strong.

Here is an interesting posting from an ex Chairman of UKIP.

Peter Watson is one of the almost 100 known members who have quit UKIP
largely in disgust –
I must say I was quite pleased to list that many from memory and then find
I had only got ONE materially wrong and the other 4 or so corrections
were on ‘Hockey Cockey’ members –
who were in then out then in or just shaking it all about!!!

Such as Stuart Wheeler who joined then QUIT to stand against the party
& now because he can CONTROL the finances has rejoined –

OR Brendan Padmore who was a Branch Chairman with a little local branch
who announced he had had enough on a public forum.

OR Peter Baker who was the elected Regional Chairman until Derek Clarke
tried to kick out of the party aided by that slime Douglas Denny and a

pack of lies.

So all in all it was a starter but I’m sure YOU can think of many more to
add but I must pop over to the UKIP controlled Forum when I have a chance
and see just what fools they are making of themselves!

Thanks to those who phoned me with corrections and I gather the dishonest
Septyk hidden in shame behind their anonymity are leaping up and down
like fleas on Viagra with glee that I made a couple of minor errors –

WHAT did they think I was omnipotent!!!!

Top date they have never ONCE identified a single solitary material error
I have made in ANY of my blogs – despite their vicious and dishonest attacks!

    Nigel Farage is going to be coming out in favour of AV –

    he will be arguing the case for it on Newsnight either today or soon after.



    AV will get UKIP more votes but will not result in any won seats for UKIP.
    UKIP will win NONE and the beneficiaries will be the Lib Dems and socialists
    and Britain will NEVER have a conservative or patriotic majority
    in Parliament ever again. Government will be like Italy and the EU –
    they will have won.



    The worst thing about AV is that the lowest common denominator candidate
    may win. It is the worst of all worlds.

    If a patriot supports AV either he doesn’t understand

    AV or he is stupid. Or both.





    If AV wins we can say goodbye to any hope of swinging the Commons to a
    NO vote against the EU if we have to go to 2015 or earlier if the Coalition
    breaks as it might – and we are getting there slowly yes, but movement is a
    good thing.



    The EU wants us to have any form of PR because it creates confusions with no possibility of clear leadership, law and government.



    UKIP is up the creek without a paddle on this one and I despise it. I wish I had not wasted years trying to make a party credible when the leadership has its head so far

    shoved up its own backside.

Region to get seventh MEP at cost of £2.1m

Tuesday 15th February 2011, 11:30AM GMT.

The West Midlands will get a seventh Member of European Parliament at a cost of £2.1 million a year, it emerged today.

New legislation to transfer more powers to Brussels will result in the creation of another MEP for the West Midlands.
The move has been fiercely opposed by Eurosceptics who say it is unnecessary and undemocratic. The extra MEP will be appointed rather than elected and will be chosen based on the candidate who most narrowly missed out in the last European elections in 2009.
The post is likely to go to the Tories and the new member, Anthea McIntyre, would take her seat later this year.
West Midland MEP Nikki Sinclaire, who used to represent the United Kingdom Independence Party but now sits as an independent, said today: “The last thing we need at a time when front line services are being cut is another politician.
“Worse still, this person will be completely unelected.
“The election posters for the 2009 poll said the West Midlands was electing six MEPs, not seven. This should either be delayed until the next European elections or, if we really have to have another politician, it should be put to a vote at a convenient time, like the local elections in May when it won’t cost too much.
“This extra politician will cost £2.1m a year because of salary, travel, expenses and the need for offices in the West Midlands, Brussels and Strasbourg.”
Under the new EU Bill, any changes to treaties that move power to Brussels have to go to a national referendum. But there is a clause that allows a minister to state that any transfer of power to Brussels is not significant enough to merit a referendum.
Tory MEP Malcolm Harbour said: “This is being done entirely within the rules.” He added that a by-election could not be held because the European Parliament is elected by proportional representation where every party has a list of candidates.
The legislation also states EU law only takes effect in the UK because the British parliament allows it to.

I note the claque of liars and fools on the odious UKIP controlled Forum where Anthony Butcher hosts any defamatory lies posted regarding me yet refuses to post the truth about The EFD & the sordid leadership of UKIP and its claque of paid, rewarded and unprincipled praise singers.

Clearly Anthony Butcher is without ethics or morality, a gutless little creep of a character, that he hosts such scum mostly using assumed names to post their unsubstantiable libelous drivel.

Perhaps, though he hides behind a childish false name, he could identify ANYTHING he has EVER done on other than a little local self interest basis, that was of ANY note.

That clarified perhaps he would care to remember the number of times he has refused to support UKIP – which I have NEVER done.

Then perhaps he would care to consider when he said he probably would not renew his membership – as branches go has he more than a couple of twigs and a leaf in his (assuming he is still in a branch!).

As for Septyk perhaps they could identify something they have EVER done of consequence, other than for personal gain, to expose the corruption and damage of EU membership!

The support given to The EU by their endless attempts to denigrate my constant and widespread efforts to gain Britain’s egress from The EU are staggering – there are times when one seriously has to wonder if these people are just useful idiots or in the direct pay of the EU like The EFD that has done so much to damage the decent members of UKIP just so that the MEPs can trouser more.

Membership of the sordid EFD does nothing but damage UKIP as a party and just look howmuch publicity Nattrass & Sinclaire have gained since refusing to be befouled by membership of The EFD. Further their allowances aren’t being used to bribe the scum of EU Politics to stay in the group!

Now they have quit they have been getting more publicity, more respect and are considered more responsible.

What has any member of The EFD done towards leaving The EU? Do not forget group policy is to REFORM the EU and Farage ordered Derek Clarke to sign up for more help to CAP committees etc. more Subsidiarity and better control by Brussels.

Furthermore as Non alligned MEPs there is no cause to be befouled by association with people like Skeptyk, Baron von Lottsov, Mick McGough, Douglas Denny, Mark Croucher, Christopher Gill or the rest of UKIP Leadership who are largely liars, cheats and clearly support racism, anti Judaism, corruption and bullying & abuse.

To date UKIP still have not honoured the payment of the £12.1/2K they owe me if they had ANY fundamental morality or ethics, decency or integrity.

They really are filth and sadly without exception – as are those who support their corruption, which so assists The EU.

North Africa’s first revolution very fragile

Three weeks after the Tunisian people ousted President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, I was delighted to attend talks in Tunis with the new interim government as part of an ad hoc parliamentary delegation.

The delegation met with Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi, the Foreign Minister, Ahmed Ounais, the Defence Minister, Abdelkrim Zbidi, and the Minister of Justice, Lazhar Karoui Chebbi. We were also able to meet with the leaders of the major political forces. We were pleased to note the decisions taken on a general amnesty, legalisation of political parties and NGOs, accession to the Statute of the International Criminal Court, and to the UN Convention against Torture.

We also held meetings with representatives of civil society, trade unions and professional associations. The importance of a strong civil society is generally considered a vital prerequisite in developing and maintaining a strong and healthy democracy.

Just as vital, is a free and independent media. After 23 years of authoritarian rule journalists in Tunisia are savouring their freedom, with many senior editors being pressured to resign in order to make way for the new order.

Our task was to ascertain how we could aid and show our support for the democratic process and to the 10 million people of Tunisia.
This revolution is the people’s revolution, and emanated from the despair that led a man, Mohamed Bouazizi, to burn himself to death on December 17th. He wasn’t a terrorist; he did not want to harm anyone else, it seems that he felt that life without the oxygen of democracy was suffocating his core being.

Events culminated on January 14th in mass protests that led President Ben Ali to flee the country and to seek refuge in Saudi Arabia after 23 years of dictatorship.

It has been dubbed the Jasmine Revolution, in Persian ´yasmin´ means ‘gift of God’, but this revolution was a mortal one, a secular revolution borne of frustration.

During our visit, other than the occasional sighting of Army trucks, barbed wire and the curfew there was actually little evidence of revolution, and the infrastructure, electricity, water, food, petrol was all functioning. The delegation encountered some demonstrations outside government offices by people who were unhappy at the speed of new legislation on for example a General Amnesty to political prisoners.
The feeling amongst Civil Society leaders is that people were concerned about the sustainability of the revolution. They felt that although the head of the old regime was removed its body is still very much in place.

The Constitution put in place in 1987 is still being adhered to and has allowed most of the old government to stay in place including the Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi. He explained his position, telling us that it would be wrong for him to desert a sinking ship. He paid tribute to the country’s youth, 35% of whom hold university degrees, extolling their patriotism and their confidence which he said would be needed in the immense task ahead.

Because of the revolution, Tunisia’s international credit rating has been downgraded; the tourism industry that accounts for 17% of foreign currency and 40% of GDP has been devastated. The Minister of Defence, Abdelkarim Zbidi went to great pains to assure us that the situation was safe for tourists.

The Prime Minister told me that EU aid given to the old regime had been used on economic reforms but evidently the people of Tunisia did not see or feel the benefit. I am calling for an investigation into where this aid went, and how it was used.

Strikes are becoming a problem, as the people tired of being exploited on low wages are keen to exercise their new found freedoms. But with any freedoms comes responsibility, economic growth must be taken one step at a time and increasing labour costs are a threat to exports and to Tunisia’s vital service industry.

The security situation in Tunisia is not critical but it remains uncertain. The Military played a pivotal role in the revolution and retains the trust of the people. I am minded of John F. Kennedy’s quote ´Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.´
The Minister of Defence, Mr Zbidi, who wants to resign his role as soon as possible, is keen to make sure the revolution is not stolen or abused during this `fragile and precarious period.´ He was critical of France, and felt that the initial reaction of Sarkozy’s government was mixed. He was also critical of the EU saying that it was “offering a little bit to eat with more later”, and referred to the slow and uncertain response by Cathy Ashton.

Mr Zbidi hopes that Tunisia will be given enhanced status with the EU as four of the six conditions were now validated. The death penalty and women’s rights of inheritance remain contentious issues. Addressing women’s rights is very important, as enhancing women’s role in society may be seen as a counter to the ever present threat of fundamentalism: the Islamist Party is amongst the best organised of political actors.

We met with the Minister of Justice, Lazhar Karoui Chebbi who told us that “Justice was the cornerstone of civilisation” He was keen that a new image of the country be transmitted with a strong justice system that guarantees the freedom of the citizens.

There are over 2000 magistrates in Tunisia, 1800 practising generally with 200 working on the Court of accounts or upper courts, and it is admitted that problems of corruption in the judicial system need to be addressed.

There can be no doubt that 23 years of Ben Ali’s regime will have an effect on future elections. However, in my opinion it would be impractical to wait for a new constitution to be formed before having full elections. Tunisia needs a reforming figure with an electoral mandate who can oversee the formation of a new constitution removing the shackles of the old, engaging with all sectors of civil society.

Whilst there is clearly just cause for optimism, we must not forget that more than 200 people have been killed during the disturbances that have accompanied this long-awaited transition towards democracy. It is important that those sacrifices were not in vain.

Tragically, there is still violence on the streets of Tunisia; during our visit four people were killed at a demonstration following an attack on a police station, and whilst travelling home on Sunday we learned of another death in the central town of Kebili.

That is a fact that should weigh heavily on France, Italy and other nations that supported the regime of Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali.

Hi, this is an excellent article for EUroRealism as it has raised the profile of one of the most dedicated EUroRealists in The EU who I gather was able to make many clear statements of human rights issues including gender and sexuality the fundamental right of Self determination and the very important fact that without liberty and sovereignty there is no such thing as meaningfull democracy.

These facts are equally as pertinent to the situation in Egypt and the rest of The Middle East and North Africa.

Hi,

a good little video sadly missing much of the punch for Northern Ireland but at least seemingly sincere and tells the key points well without sidetracking to idiotic manifesto fantasies.

I thought the most apposite comment was:

Leadership within UKIP & a display of how they act towards the electorate as a democratic organisation – informing, asking, helping & listening to people but most of all integrity, probity & transparency the true values of a sovereign caring Britain.

For more of the same we can vote Lib.Lab.Con. Its not manifestos no one delivers, money no one accounts for, politicians no one cares about that are needed – it is clear honest, ethical leadership & people on the ground not poncing around abroad!

Such a pity there is still no sign of probity, leadership ability, consistency or a shred of decency amongst the leadership and their paid praise singers, singing for their salaries and status, and parasites many too ashamed to put their own name to their claims.

The self serving vitriolic back biting of the scum gathered around the UBend that traps the filth forming UKIP’s racist, xenophobic, sexually intolerant EFD supporting leadership are the tragedy of UKIP.

The members do all they can and look at the squabbling dishonest and corrupt shower that let them down – there are only 2 UKIP elected MEPs left, actively campaigning visibly in Britain who have the basic decency to refuse to support The EU policy of Pan EU Political Groups and morally and financially supporting the.sordid EFD.

UKIP is still too corrupt to honour its financial moral committments incurred through dishonesty and harassment. They just lack the ethics needed for leadership and clearly lack the basic honour code our politicians need if they are to make a change for Britain.

hang on a mo – I know how dedicated you are to the cause of restoring democracy to Britain, control over our own borders, the right to self determination and liberation from the malign influences of membership of The EU but to be fair so are most of the sadly and dishonestly misled members and voters for UKIP.

It seems to have been a good week for EUroRealists with the debate in Parliament on The FACT that The EU is forcing us to give Prisoners the vote – clearly the vote was a huge success but as Mary Ellen Synon in The Daily Mail at CLICK HERE The British Parliament has a long way to go before the vote this week has anything worthwhile to contribute.

I predict that the EU will spend huge amounts of OUR money having lavish dinners in exotic resorts for its fat cats to work out a fudge. The next British election will turn up and much will be made of Tory faux EUroScepticism and how they rejected The ECHR barmy concept of votes for prisoners (which by the way it was NOT, it was for given catagories of prisoners I understand!) – shortly after the election it will be made clear we had merel obtained a derogation (FUDGE) or on reflection rather than paying the price the British people want and leaving the politicians have decided it is a small price to pay for all the benefits (FUDGE) – By the way what benefits?

Then whilst that debate was on one of EUroRealisms most dedicated workers had something of a coup in that Nikki Sinclaire a UKIP elected MEP managed to get permission to park her constituency mobile office in right outside OUR Parliament at Westminster – a fortunate booking in that the date booked months ago turned out to be on the day of debate & vote on an issue perceived as related to The EU.

Fair play to Sinclaire’s staff they were willing to stay till 17:00hrs. on Friday but having had near constant rain they packed up when interest dwindled after lunch on Friday only to watch the sun come out as they reached the M1 on the long haul back to the constituency – having hugely raised the profile of EUroRealism and the need for a petition.

I appreciate there are bitter little voices from UKIP seeking to denigrate anyone’s efforts but their own – but would YOU want to be associated with the scum in UKIP’s leadership who have allied themselves with the racist, anti Jewish, violent sexually intolerant Pan EU Political EFD Group (Here is how UKIP aim to overturn the members democratic vote against UKIP surrendering to EU control CLICK HERE)

Nigel Farage as leader of The EFD published a letter through his office denigrating petitions and referendum CLICK HERE yet he was in Finland helping The EFD with a referendum last weekend – The duplicitous two faced nature of UKIP which is realistically our only lifeboat at the moment is a tragedy as clearly the lifeboat has been seized by rascals and the corrupt for personal gain and in betrayal of not just our voters but our Country as others have made most clear CLICK HERE

That said it was good to see his video clip at the end of the Channel 4 news in the political slot, which I understand UKIP get by rotation based upon the votes it has to date. A good video in that he had been persuaded not to rant but VERY weak on figures, usually Farage can provide a few soundbites to convince the trailing and arm the followers!

Is The EU forcing us to comply merely to denigrate democracy since The EU is bereft of any meaningfull democracy?
We joined the ECHR in The 1950s where we could argue our values but British Governments have unlawfully betrayed Britain & our peoples & handed over Government to the centralised & corrupt EU unelected control.

I hear the foul mouthed slut Annabelle Fuller is back officially on the play roll having parted company with The British Legion and then The British Forces Pensions or whatever – presumably when they read her vile blog and started to find out the truth.

I can see no way in which this addition to UKIP can do anything but more harm than she has done in the past – many will remember the pack of lies Farage told to try to keep her on his play roll last time and the general dishonesty and unpleasantness that surrounds her.

I gather this time a new story has been spun – it is being put about that The News of the World offered her a large amount of money to tell the truth about her activities with Nigel Farage and within UKIP leadership and the only way UKIP could stop the truth spilling out was to employ her.

Firstly do you honestly believe The NotW would pay her much – Lega from Rega hardly came out of her expose of Farageand his drunken reverie with a prostitute picked up in his local pub. Frankly knowing the Journalsist (several) at the NotW I just don’t believe it – it is hard to get ANY story about UKIP in the Meeeja at the moment as shown by how infrequently they feature, then usually because some sleaze like John Ison has leaked unsound fantasies to ingratiate himself for a job as a UKIP parasite CLICK HERE or some idiot like Douglas Denny has unwisely invented and irritated a journalist then finding it blows up in the face of UKIP due to his lies CLICK HERE

– I do hear Denny is on the verge of quitting which would be a start in cleaning up UKIP, this is some confirmation of the rumours that first started circulating at the utterly risible so called leadership campaign – we note the rewards Steve Allison is gathering for the manner in which he managed Prof. Tim Congdon’s campaign!!!.

I hope he is starting to realise just how much he has been duped by the other parasites and the extent he has been used as a patsy, well lets face it if he believes the fantasies he publishes on little Anthony Butcher’s UKIP controlled forum with all the filth he puts his name to he is far from bright though possibly not so corrupt, duplicitous and cowardly as Anthony Butcher who hosts the lies and disinformation for UKIP.

At least on my blogs I make every effort to be accurate and have NEVER been found to have presented a single solitary item of misinformation of any material nature despite tthe many stalkers I have like the obsessive liar and cheat Mick McGough, Douglas Denny, Matt Quinn, Gawain Towler, Annabelle Fuller, Mark Croucher, Steven Milne, David Icke, Brian Gerrish and the like the slime trapped in the U Bend of the gutter of conspiracies and corruption.

Secondly do you believe that UKIP should fund such an apparent case of blackmail to hide dishonesty, corruption and the childish insecure antics of UKIP leadership and its parasites?

I do question who in UKIP leadership and their parasites is fit for office ANY office, sadly I see UKIP as a part of the problem with no place in the solution under its present inept, incompetent, dishonest corrupt and self serving nere do wells of its leadership and their salaried praise singers and parasites.

Tory and Labour MEPs in sneaky new exes ploy

SNEAKY British MEPs are claiming cash for a day’s work in Brussels before scuttling to the Eurostar minutes later and travelling HOME.

We caught Tory Robert Sturdy and Labour’s Peter Skinner turning up at the Euro parliament at the crack of dawn to punch their card to grab £258 daily expenses.

The allowance from struggling taxpayers is supposed to cover the cost of them attending official business in Brussels.

But our investigation found these grasping Euro MPs didn’t stick around.

Instead they jumped into a plush official car, with their suitcases in tow, and arrived at the Eurostar terminal less than 45 MINUTES later before heading back to Blighty.

And they’re not alone. Hordes of foreign MEPs are at it too.

This will outrage hard-working Brits who hand over £8.5BILLION a year to Europe – £137 per person – to pay for these pampered politicians. And it will be a huge embarrassment for Prime Minister David Cameron who in 2008 stepped in to clean up his party’s expenses system in Brussels.

He said at the time: “Just as I expect our MPs to adhere to the highest standards, so must MEPs. The taxpaying public have a right to know how their money is being spent and politicians have a duty to ensure it is spent properly.”
Disgusted West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire agreed to expose her fellow Euro politicians – who earn £80,955 a year NOT including expenses.

Working with her, we filmed on Fridays in the parliament buildings of Brussels in Belgium and Strasbourg, France. We found members from all over Europe exploiting the signing-in system.
Greedy MEPs were QUEUEING outside the Attendance Office even before it opened at 7am.
Of the 160 Euro MPs we filmed signing in before 10am, more than a third – 54 – arrived with overnight bags and suitcases. At least 25 left parliament shortly after.
Of these, we caught nine arriving at the airport shortly after, ready to fly home, as well as our Brits on Eurostar.

Ms Sinclaire, who runs campaigns from her website www.yourmep.org, said: “It’s a disgrace. On a Friday, when parliament is virtually closed, MEPs still sign in for their £258 and then head straight for the exit doors.

“Many people don’t earn £258 a week, but some MEPs claim it for a day when they’re in for barely an hour. Taxpayers should know how their cash is being spent.”
In Brussels, East of England Euro MP Mr Sturdy, 66, signed for his daily expenses at just 7:18am. And balding South East MEP Mr Skinner, 51, was close behind his pal, signing in at 7.40am.

The pair arrived at Brussels Midi station together at 8.04am, jumping out of a chauffeur-driven people carrier in good time for the 8.29am Eurostar. Two hours later we caught them at London’s St Pancras station.

The Brits were caught on camera two days ago, but on other days of filming we found a string of MEPs turning up early to claim their cash in Brussels.

It was still barely light on January 28 when Polish Euro MP Jolanta Hibner, 60, wheeled her suitcase into parliament to sign in at 7.58am. We pictured her at Brussels Airport just 22 minutes later, ready to fly home.

Another Polish MEP, Adam Gierek, 72, signed in at 8.01am with a colleague. We captured him stepping out of a chauffeur-driven car at the airport at 10:51am. Then Portuguese Euro MP Ilda Figueiredo 62, signed the register at 8:20am before being spotted at departures at 10:04am.

And Spanish MEP, purple-haired Eider Gardiazabal Rubial, 35, wheeled her suitcase to the Attendance Office at 9:56am, before being seen at the airport at 10:20am.

In Strasbourg, despite screens showing no official business on January 21, dozens of MEPs claimed expenses in the early hours.

We caught Polish Euro MP Danuta Jazlowiecka, 53, signing in at 9.21am, wheeling a suitcase. Then, at 9:42am – just 21 minutes later – she arrived at Strasbourg airport.

There are only 134 days of official parliamentary business – which does NOT include Fridays – in a year, worth £34,538 in daily allowances. By also signing in on the 37 Fridays, each MEP can trouser £9,537 extra.

Mr Sturdy said he worked late on Thursday night and that a power failure at King’s Cross would have made getting home difficult. He added: “I’m signing in because I’m doing my job. As vice chair of international trade I have a lot on at the moment.” He admitted he “often” signed in on Fridays.

Mr Skinner said: “It is often the case I will work six days on the trot, some of which will be spent in the constituency. My first duty is to represent people across the South-East which is sometimes best done face-to-face”

But EU rules state the allowance which they claimed is supposed to cover expenses like accommodation and meals incurred by attending official meetings away from their home country on the day signed for.

Ms Jazlowiecka’s aide told us: “It is not breaking rules to sign in and leave.” And Ms Figueiredo’s spokesman said it was up to parliament to determine what she could claim.

Hi,

the visit to London & day and 1/2 of campaigning was a really good investment for EUroRealism particularly as it is already paying off – The Sunday Times article is the product of an interview with Marie Woolf and the interviews with The Express, News of the World, BBC etc. may well also pay dividends towards leaving the EU in the long run!

Also the visit to Tunisia had some well planned spin offs that will make huge differences for EUroRealism in the mid and long run – it was so much more valuable than the jollies featured in The Daily Mail this week!

Cameron to appoint new £1m-a-year MEP

With cuts beginning to bite, the government’s move to install a new MEP is labelled undemocratic and a waste of taxpayers’ money

The government is to install an extra Tory MEP at a cost of more than £1m a year, in a move that has been condemned as undemocratic and a waste of taxpayers’ money.

Foreign Office ministers are pushing through a law that will create a new seat for an MEP in the West Midlands constituency. The move follows a reconfiguring of seats in the European parliament that has given Britain the right to an additional MEP.

The government has decided the seat will go to a Conservative, based on the results of the last European election in the region, without holding a fresh election.

Opposition MEPs say the seat should only be created at the next European election in 2014. They argue this would be more democratic and would save money. An MEP costs about £1.2m a year in salary, office and staff costs, travel expenses, pensions and other allowances. The money will come out of the European parliament budget, which is partly funded by British taxpayers.

Nikki Sinclaire, an independent MEP for the West Midlands, called for the plan to appoint the MEP before 2014 to be scrapped. She said the money should be used to save services facing cuts.

“It is unbelievable when essential public services such as libraries and school maintenance are being cut to the bone that the government is legislating to appoint another politician,” she said.

Critics say that if a by-election had been held, the Tories would have risked losing in a region that also has significant Labour and UK Independence party support.

The new Tory MEP will take up his or her seat when all EU states have ratified the protocol. Britain is ratifying the change via the European Union Bill, now passing through parliament. The MEP is expected to take up the seat by early next year.

Yesterday, the Foreign Office said: “Like all member states, we agreed in June to ratify this protocol as soon as possible, to enable the additional MEPs to be returned to the European parliament.

“It is in no way a question of the government ‘appointing’ an additional MEP.

“The European Council outlined a number of ways that the 12 EU member states concerned could elect their additional MEPs. Like most other states who gain an additional MEP, the UK will do this by referring to the results of the last European parliamentary elections in 2009.”

The Electoral Commission said it had calculated where an extra MEP could be located, but the government had decided how the seat would be filled.

It said: “We recommended that the extra seat be allocated to the West Midlands region. That is where our remit ends.”

The commission chose the West Midlands because it has the highest number of voters per MEP of anywhere in Britain.

There is also an 850 word story across two pages in The News of The World – which I have read but am unwilling to publish yet as I have NOT seen it on line as unlike The Times I do not have a pass for the pay wall 😉 I’m not much interested in voyeurism, I know few of the so called Seeelebritys, sport bores me rigid and the back biting and gossip is of no interest.

Eventually I get the interesting bits sent to me by friends on the paper eventually!

The advance copy and details seems very healthy publicity for Nikki Sinclaire, but I shall wait till I get the final .pdf and confirm no alterations have been made to the final Journalist copy.
