I’m off out to help a friend & will finish this article on my return, but here are some of the facts!:

Ukip leader Henry Bolton today defended his glamour model lover – despite ending their affair after it emerged his she had joked online about sexual abuse of babies and sent racist texts about Meghan Markle.
Mr Bolton complained that Jo Marney had been ‘thrown to the wolves’ after he bowed to an ultimatum to dump the 25-year-old or quit.
He said the outrageous texts did not represent Miss Marney’s ‘core beliefs’, and vowed to stand by her even though their relationship was over.
Mr Bolton is still facing intense pressure to resign in the wake of the Mail’s revelation that he had left his third wife for the model and Ukip member.
A letter being circulated within party circles warns that it is ‘rightly perceived to be incompetent’ and demands he be ousted at a meeting of the ruling committee on Sunday. It urges sacking of better-paid staff and moving out of rented offices as part of a rescue plan to save UKIP from total financial collapse.
Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Mr Bolton revealed he dumped Miss Marney last night, but refused to resign.
‘I don’t defend these comments whatsoever and indeed Jo has been suspended. It’s against the constitution of the party to be racist in any way,’ he said.
‘As of last night, the romantic part of our relationship has ended. We had that conversation last night when I returned from Yorkshire. The conversation will remain private, but it was a long and upsetting conversation for both of us.’
The pressure intensified yesterday when Miss Marney was suspended from the party over a series of racist messages in which she branded black people as ‘ugly’ and warned that Meghan Markle’s genes would ‘taint our royal family’.

Mr Bolton said he believed Miss Marney was ‘exploited’ by people within the party who wanted to ‘attack’ him, but vowed to continue as leader.
He said: ‘What I would say, I am not intending to resign. It’s up to the party what happens in relation to my leadership.
‘There are a great many people who fully support me. I was in Yorkshire at the weekend and the people there fully support me.
‘There is a failed group within the party that has been looking for an opportunity to criticise and attack me. They have looked at a young woman, whose life they have destroyed.
‘I am blaming the people who have deliberately used her to attack me. What I am saying is that people have exploited her and have been prepared to throw her to the wolves to attack me.
‘I have ended the romantic element to our relationship, but I am fully supporting her family as she tries to rebuild her life. If people want to attack me for my politics then bring it on, let’s have that debate. I am cross.’
Mr Bolton said his critics had used Ms Marney to attack him and said he would ‘stand by’ her despite the relationship ending.

Mr Bolton said he first met Miss Marney on December 15 at a Ukip lunch. He left his wife Tatiana before Christmas, before his first date with the glamour model on Boxing Day.
GMB host Susanna Reid read out a statement from his wife, which said: ‘When you’ve been with someone so long, have supported him through so much and always been there for him you feel so betrayed on every single level.

‘The speculation that Jo and I met back in October is not true – we had not. We met on the 15th December at Ukip lunch. Myself and my wife split up just before Christmas – I hadn’t seen Jo again in that time.

‘They’re direct Facebook messages. They were made in the height of an online argument between her and a friend on Facebook through direct messaging.
‘In one of them, the broader content seems to have been taken out of context. But the language was appalling.
‘Those are appalling words. What I am saying is I absolutely do not defend those comments, I do not support them, I don’t agree with them. I’m just simply saying they were Facebook messages between her and someone else that were not expected to go public.
‘We had been together for four days by the time this broke – the fact that we were together broke. I suspect there’s not one person this morning, who four days into any relationship, has gone through the Facebook and Twitter messages of their partner.
I’m embarrassed by it and shocked by it. But four days into a relationship you are still getting to know the other person.’

Ukip last night refused to comment on them, but a friend of Miss Marney’s claimed they had been taken out of context and had been ‘part of an outrage competition’.
He said Miss Marney had posted the remarks as she tried to make a comparison between the abuse of animals and babies.
It comes as the under-fire model was revealed to have referred to ‘Eastern European s****’ who would ‘f*** a mangey dog for about 10 quid and a Big Mac’ during an argument on Twitter.
She also told the man she was ranting at that he would ‘probably be raped by the wonderful ‘refugees’ running around Germany blowing things up and raping everyone’ if he were a woman.
According to The Sun, Miss Marney then said: ‘If I’m racist I don’t give a f***.’
Earlier yesterday Ukip MEP Bill Etheridge had urged Mr Bolton to quit ahead of a planned vote of confidence due to be held by Ukip’s national executive committee on Sunday.
He said: ‘Go now. Go quietly and leave us to deal with what’s left.’ In a video posted on Facebook, he added: ‘It appears that we are now seeing Ukip resources, which are at best scant, being used to defend Henry’s private life.’
He said he would step down as Ukip’s shadow sports minister if Mr Bolton – who was elected leader last September as the party’s fifth leader in 16 months – ‘insists on prolonging this agony’.
Former Ukip leadership candidate Ben Walker also called for Mr Bolton to resign, accusing him of having ‘deeply flawed judgment’.
Yesterday the party was reeling after it emerged that Miss Marney had sent racist messages about black people, including dismissing Miss Markle’s suitability to be Prince Harry’s wife, adding: ‘This is Britain, not Africa.’
Miss Marney apologised for the racist messages yesterday, saying: ‘The opinions I expressed were deliberately exaggerated in order to make a point and have, to an extent, been taken out of context. Yet I fully recognise the offence they have caused.
‘I’m absolutely devastated by the messages that I’ve sent and the distress that I’ve caused anyone by those messages. They were unnecessary, they were reckless, they were overly exaggerated purely for effect.
‘They were never intended to be put in the public domain and I’d like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere and deepest apologies to anyone I’ve hurt and for the distress and embarrassment I’ve caused my family, friends and the party.’
Mr Bolton was spotted at Ashford International train station’s Eurostar terminal with his girlfriend later in the day.
Asked if he would be standing down as leader of Ukip, Mr Bolton said ‘No’ before stressing: ‘You don’t know the context’.

The couple quickly left the terminal when asked questions about the furore, with Mr Bolton keen to stress he was not leaving the country.
He said: ‘If we were leaving the country, we’d be catching probably the Eurostar from here.
‘But we’re going away from the Eurostar, aren’t we?’

The embattled politician then appeared to walk away from the terminal.
Peter Whittle, leader of Ukip’s delegation in the London Assembly, called for Miss Marney to be ‘expelled altogether’ for the ‘disgraceful remarks’.
Party chairman Paul Oakden said he decided to suspend Miss Marney’s membership immediately after he was made aware of the messages, adding: ‘Ukip does not, has not and never will condone racism.’
The racism row comes as Mr Bolton faces an investigation into his private life by senior party officials. Mr Bolton left wife Tatiana, 42, who gave birth to their second daughter in 2016, prior to his relationship with Miss Marney becoming public earlier this month.
The Ukip leader confirmed a ‘change in my relationship status’ in recent weeks, but denied reports it had involved ‘a clandestine affair with a young lady who happens also to be a member of Ukip’.
Mr Oakden said Mr Bolton now finds himself with a ‘difficult’ decision to make and is expected to decide on Sunday what to do to ‘help remedy the situation’.
He told BBC’s Sunday Politics: ‘I think it is very clear that Henry is increasingly in a position where he’s got some difficult decisions to make.’
Mr Oakden said Ukip needs to be ‘behind our leader 100 per cent in taking that battle [for Brexit] forward’, adding: ‘Whether or not the party decides it is willing to give that support to Henry is for the party to decide.’
