Hi,
watching the EU Parliament Channel (as one does!) at C21:20hrs. UK 22:20hrs. Strasbourg in a debate on Health Equality across The EU this evening I noted that of the 9 speakers one was Nikki Sinclaire who made the very valid point that this should be a matter for National competence not EU interference and since The EU was involved they should at least lead by example.
Sinclaire held up a copy of The Sunday Times article, quoted in the original post in this thread, highlighting that MEPs spend £3Million of tax payers’ money on Viagra.
In her speech; minded that it is International Wimin’s Day, as the Presiding Chairman pointed out; Sinclaire drew attention to the lack of a level playing field where the health service in Britain offered IVF to aid fertility for ONE cycle yet MEPs and their families were entitled to 5 Cycles of Treatment at the tax payers’ expense.
