Hi,
as I predicted on this blog last week Nigel Farage would lie with all the conviction of a sociopath to try to wheedle out of the undeniable FACT that he claimed that the French police and the mechanic who recovered/repaired his car had unequivocally stated there had been an assassination attempt made on him.
That Nigel Farage is so clearly telling lies to predictably cover-up his lies brings Ukip and his involvement as a leader of the Leave EU campaign into disrepute.

It is the political ‘whodunit’ which gripped Westminster last week – why did Nigel Farage’s wheel come off his Volvo on a French motorway while he was driving back from Brussels?
But the Ukip leader’s bizarre performance since claiming to be the victim of an assassination attempt – initially repeating his allegations, then trying to deny having made them – has fuelled the whispering campaign against him within his party.
Mr Farage told The Mail on Sunday his accident had been the result of sabotage, saying: ‘The French police looked at it and said that sometimes nuts on one wheel can come a bit loose – but not on all four.’ When questioned on the radio later, he added: ‘Someone clearly had loosened the nuts on all four of the tyres of my car, which led to a slightly unfortunate incident with the wheel coming off, and it wasn’t very nice.’

However, as the story made headlines across Europe, Mr Farage seemed to become rattled.
When French newspaper Liberation tracked down Philippe Marquis, the garage owner who had examined the Volvo, the mechanic denied mentioning sabotage. A defensive Mr Farage then tried to backtrack, saying: ‘I never mentioned any mechanic.’
However, a transcript of Mr Farage’s interview shows that when the Ukip leader was asked by The Mail on Sunday why he was sure his car had been tampered with, he said: ‘The mechanics that looked at it were absolutely certain of it, but I have decided to take no further action.’
A bamboozled Mr Farage also tried to claim after our story was published that he had ‘never said anything’ about an assassination attempt.
But our transcript shows that, when asked whom he blamed for the alleged tampering, he replied: ‘Quite frankly, with the way my life’s been over the last two-and-a-half years, nothing surprises me… It’s not a particularly easy game, this [being Ukip leader].’
Senior Ukip figures worry that the party has lost momentum since last year’s General Election, when it won just one seat.

Mr Farage’s allies suspect that the party’s immigration spokesman Steven Woolfe is plotting against him – and have challenged him to deny that he has been sounding out potential running mates.

Douglas Carswell faces an explosive confrontation over his ‘disloyalty’ towards Nigel Farage at a meeting of Ukip’s ruling body tomorrow.
The party’s only MP will be ordered to apologise and pledge his allegiance after he called for a ‘fresh face’ as leader.
The attack will be led at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting by party secretary Matthew Richardson, who has been feuding with Mr Carswell since the pair had a blazing row in the Commons after the General Election.
According to one party source, Mr Richardson has even consulted solicitors over the possibility of taking legal action to ‘gag’ the MP.
Mr Carswell called for Mr Farage to stand aside after the party flopped at the Oldham by-election last month, saying he should make way for someone who radiated ‘sunshine and optimism’.
The Ukip leader hit back, saying the Clacton MP should ‘put up or shut up’. He added: ‘He’s been having a go at me every single day since the General Election, he’s been doing it in private, briefing members, officials or the Press, or anyone who cares to listen.’
Mr Farage would normally attend NEC meetings, but it is understood he will not be present tomorrow.
The trouble began after Mr Carswell emailed Mr Richardson and Mr Farage to say he would only be taking a proportion of the £650,000 in taxpayer funding which Ukip was allowed to claim following May’s General Election.

Mr Carswell insisted this so-called ‘short money’ should only be spent to help him represent his constituents. But Mr Richardson stormed down to the Commons to argue that it should all be appropriated by Ukip’s cash-strapped head office. The MP then received a call from someone in the party asking what he claimed were ‘grossly intrusive questions’ about his marriage – which he said may have been a coded warning.
A Ukip spokesman said Mr Carswell’s remarks would be ‘on the agenda’ at the NEC meeting, adding: ‘We can neither confirm nor deny whether lawyers have been retained.’ Mr Richardson was unavailable last night, while Mr Carswell declined to comment.
