Ukip Gets Into A Mess In The South West Under Steve Crowther’s Control with Jeff Mager’s resignation letter outlining the incompetent leadership & the self serving squabbling in Cornwall & South West!

It is therefore with deep regret that I wish to terminate my membership of UKIP after sixteen years.
I have taken this decision after a long campaign of remarks, both about me physically and mentally by a group within Camborne and Redruth and latterly the chairman of St Ives & IOS, Stuart Guppy. I’ve have also been forced to endure with remarks from Dr Robert Smith the former candidate for Camborne Redruth, a man I have known for over fifteen years, which allegedly make reference to my sexuality, i.e. that I am a “closet homosexual”.
I was forced out of office as Chairman of Camborne & Redruth by Cornwall Cllr Harry Blakeley and a small group of his fellow committee members. They refused to work with the campaign manager and I when we were given the task of running the recent general election campaign to a specific plan approved by the party. This group abused and belittled me on every occasion and eventually I had a discussion with Bob Smith and the campaign manager with regard to me stepping down as chairman; they both begged me not to.
However within two weeks and being subject to more abuse I stepped down, shortly after the campaign manager resigned as election coordinator as he too had become the subject of abuse and lies by (as then) Cornwall Cllr Blakeley and his cabal. I was also forced to resign as event manager for Nigel Farage’s appearance in Redruth after several members of the aforementioned group indicated that they would withdraw their labour from the event and refuse to steward it.
The same group of people also organised a “leak” of information via a YI member’s twitter account, relating to Nigel’s movements and whereabouts; something which put his security and safety in jeopardy.
The Campaign Manager and the County Chairman and I sent reports to the Regional Organiser and Party Chairman, Steve Crowther. We then attended a meeting in Plymouth where Steve gave authorisation to remove the group, however, after meeting Bob Smith he had already said that if Blakeley and his acolytes went he would resign from the campaign because he was afraid they would “poison the membership” and cause the campaign to collapse. Given that Smith was the branch’s second candidate, after the first one was sentenced to jail, we felt that a third candidate would cause UKIP (more) national embarrassment. Therefore in the end we decided to protect the party and the other Cornish campaigns and Steve decided to defer Blakeley’s removal until after the election.
Also because of their actions and intervention UKIP have lost two Cornwall Council seats – including Blakeley’s own. We were even forced to endure the embarrassment of Peter Channon standing against a UKIP candidate in the subsequent by-elections. Mr Channon was at the time of the first by-election, a Camborne & Redruth committee member.
After the election ‘post-mortem’ was carried out, the Regional Organiser was given the authorisation to get rid of Blakeley and his cabal. However, this order was issued on the day her contract ended so was unable to implement the action. Since then despite many calls for him to do so Steve Crowther has refused to carry out his own directive and even refused to acknowledge that he issued the order despite evidence to confirm it.
As a consequence of this mismanagement and the refusal to deal with corruption and antisemitism within UKIP Cornwall, several key members of UKIP Cornwall have walked away, along with a key donor to the party who is now refusing to support SWCC financially until the situation is resolved.
Cornwall has now been left in disarray because of the inaction by party HQ and UKIP is, in my opinion, unelectable.

You will appreciate from the facts presented on this site, with cross references & links, that show beyond doubt that this sort of level of infighting and squabbling is rife in Ukip in virtually every region, due to bad management and the utter incompetence of the Party leadership.
